Oh, that's interesting- obviously deliberate but did they announce it in the book somewhere and I missed it?

Northern Gun Armor

NORTHERN GUN ARMOR:
-As this is the "Small Arms" book, there's a HUGE section on armor. Like, REALLY big. Even superfluous stuff and things from other books are combined together. There is Armored Clothing +7, which is light M.D.C. but Subtle because it looks like normal clothes. Tons of smaller suits by Chuck Walton are shown, with most being Hovercycle Armor +7-8. The old Huntsman & Juicer Plate Armors +8 are shown again (Juicers are lightly armored mostly to show off, as the book states they CAN wear anyone else's armor, and given how the stats work in the game, probably SHOULD).

Environmental Body Armor is listed next- this contains air supplies, radios, environmental shielding, polarized visors, etc. All will thus be a good bit more expensive in points and money. Anti-Ballistic Armor +9 has a Half-Immunity to all kinetic damage! The Bullfrog +9 is aquatic, and there are various lighter suits with the same purpose. There are heavier suits all mostly around +9 (under 100 M.D.C.), with Mega-Juicers having +10 armor and Titan Juicers having +11.

NG Power Armor 1

NORTHERN GUN POWER ARMOR:
* So as mentioned, almost this entire book is devoted to random suits of Power Armor. All lighter than the robots of Northern Gun One, this nonetheless stacks 'em high. Almost all of them have Leaping 1 & ST 6.

"Aurora Blazer"- Toughness +10, Plasma Gun +13, 90 mph, Flight 6, Mini-Missiles.
-A high-speed unit.

"Beachstormer"- Toughness +10, 60 mph, 20-30 mph Swimming, Leaping, Underwater Rifle +13.
-The ultimate underwater Power Armor suit made by humans. Naval stuff is not mentioned all that often in Rifts aside from the two big books about it, but these are among the best.

"Blue Boy"- Toughness +10, 40 mph, Leaping, Thumper Assault Rifle +9, Grenades +9-13.
-The NG version of the Coalition's "Dead Boy", though this is real Power Armor with just under 200 M.D.C. It's named for a pleasing blue tint to its armor.

NG Power Armor 2

"Blue Hawk"- Toughness +10, ST 7, Flight 7, 60 mph, 40 mph Swimming, Ion Rifle +12, Vibro-Blades +8, Mini-Torpedos, Nightvision, Sonar.
-An elite surface-to-water suit, complimenting the later Red Hawk.

"Cougar"- Toughness +11, ST 7, 50 mph, Wall-Crawling, Shoulder Tri-Barrel Blasters +13, Forearm Ion Blaster +9, Grenades, Vibro-Claws +13.
-A big, tough Anti-Xiticix suit designed to grapple with the bugs and slice them apart. The Vibro-Claws do IMMENSE damage compared to most melee stuff in the system, to the point where this is downright broken. I mean, the Cougar does more damage in melee than the THIRTY TON ROBOTS. It's also got grenades out the ass (listing like a half-dozen kinds) and toughness equal to a SAMAS. This is every bit the Xiticix-Killer it's supposed to be.

"Coyote"- Toughness +9, 34 mph, Dual Sniper +11.
-The Coyote is a super-lightweight power armor that nonetheless still has ST 6 and stuff like that. It's popular mostly because it's one of the only suits that can be worn underneath normal clothing, making it very beloved by spies and other hidden fighters. It's also got a connector on the back for jetpacks, like a Flight 5 NG model.

Behold: CHICK ARMOR.

"Delilah"- Toughness +12, 120 mph, Leaping 4, Plasma Ejectors +13, Vibro-Blades +9, ST 7.

-A "female" counterpart to the famous "Samson" suit, these have a "female" model with a thinner waist and legs, and a male model (the "Del")- they were designed for female troops, many of whom put synthetic dreadlocks or other "hair" on the helmets. The notion of "Girl Power Armor" is of course an ongoing one, continuing to this day, but Walton does a good job with the two units, putting a pretty female in the one suit, looking pretty bad-ass. And a billion feet tall, because she's only barely drawn in front of the pretty lady in the insane high heels who looks to be some sort of rep or model- on first glance they're side by side. The suit is nonetheless nine feet tall.

"Defender- J.A.P.E. II"- Toughness +11, 120 mph, Leaping 2, Neural Disruptor Rifle +6 (Affliction 10- Impaired/Disabled/Incapacitated), Lasers +13, Grenades.

-The Defender is actually a rejected NG design stolen by the Black Market (which, remember, is an official criminal organization in this setting). It's a Juicer-Fighter designed mostly to stun and disable threats rather than kill them, but the gun is prone to malfunctioning and stunning the user whenever it's at half its M.D.C. and even the range is totally random (1D6x100+600). Someone named "JAB" drew this one- sounds like a real asshole.

"Demon Slayer"- Toughness +11, 90 mph, Gatling Gun Robot Weapon Arms +5 (silver/wood, +8 accuracy), Dual Vibro-Sword +9 (also silver), Stake Shooters, Silver Impaler, Flamethrower +12, Grenades.

-A viciously bad-ass looking suit of armor with a Greek-style horse-crest helmet and a giant backpack with forward-facing guns, this one is inspired by the CS "Juicer Killer", but designed for fighting superantural monsters. All the gear is lined with silver (including blades on the back in case something leaps onto them from behind), and the Gatling Guns provide FOUR EXTRA ATTACKS, devoted to firing S.D.C. wood/silver rounds (doing a ton of damage to the supernatural).

-Here, they oddly shove in a paragraph about the upcoming "Minion War", when Hades & Dyval invade North America in a blood war. It pretty well spoils things by saying that people will flock to Northern Gun, as they were the only human empire to forsee an issue with supernatural monsters over Magic & D-Bees, the demons will specifically target them for annihilation because of it, and THEN the Coalition will strike, making the two nations out to be the heroes of humanity.

I think it's mostly the helmet design and some details of the shoulder pads.

"Enforcer Guardsman- Police Power Armor"- Toughness +11, 90 mph, Leaping 5, Forearm Laser +9, Grenade Launcher.

-The Power Armor of choice for SWAT officers, detectives and under-staffed sheriffs in further-away outposts, not beat cops.

"Firefighter"- Toughness +11, Water Cannon, Forearm Laser +9, ST 7.

-A sealed suit of Power Armor meant for fighting fires, but with a surprisingly good "Anti-Vampire" system. Not what it was built for, but it does the job.

"Forester Wilderness Scout"- Toughness +10, Speed 60 mph, Flamethrower +12, Chainsaw +11, Grenades, "Hex" Grenades, Sensor Array, ST 7.

-A suit designed for forest exploration, with a chainsaw and flamethrower for, uh, getting through the woods. It has a TON of sensors and tracking abilities, plus "Hex" grenades, which are disabling noxious gas grenades.

NG Power Armor 5

"Gladius Light"- Toughness +10, 40 mph.
-A barebones combat exoskeleton that is a total dinosaur in the line, but still very popular- it has no extras, but it's CHEAP and durable for the price (180 M.D.C.).

"Grease Monkey Mobile Repair & Support Unit"- Toughness +10, 40 mph, "Hover Lift" to 30 feet, Multi-Tool, Diagnostics, Finger Laser +8, Laser Torch +9.
-Another unique "utility suit"- a battlefield medic. Here, it's designed to rush in, make quick repairs, and get out. It has a tank of industrial grease for robot joint lubrication and better armor than other medical suits get.

"Ironwing"- Toughness +11, 40 mph, Flight 7, Dragon Stopper Particle Beam Rifle +13, Head Lasers +9, Mini-Missiles, Vibro-Blades +9-11 (depending on flight speed), Buzzsaw +9-11.
-A suit of ultra-powerful flying power armor, equivalent to the SAMAS. Faster than any Xiticix or Gargoyle, it's designed to kill them in drawn-out battles, not in hit & run attacks like the Red Hawks do. It looks QUITE bad-ass, with huge spiked wings, jet engines next to its head, and a buzzsaw on one arm.

NG Power Armor 6

"Lynx"- Toughness +11, 50 mph, 90 mph w/ rockets, VTOL 200 feet, Big Bang Assault Rifle +13, Grenades, Ion Blasters +13, Vibro-Blades +9, ST 7.

-The Lynx is a partner-unit of the Cougar, both designed to infiltrate Xiticix hives and kill the bugs. The Lynx is the powerouse of the two, but has the same armor. Visually, it looks the same as most other suits, but with bigger boot-jets. It's extremely nimble with rocket-thrusters enabling it long jumps, making it the fastest NG armor. Most revolutionary might be a device that enables the suit's nuclear power source to give guns never-ending supplies of energy! Effectively giving things an unlimited payload, this would be a massive game-changer in a setting all about how much ammo you have left.

"Mantis"- Toughness +10, 50 mph, 90 mph w/ rockets, VTOL 200 feet, Vibro-Blades +11 (Improved Disarm/Smash), Plasma Ejector +12, Head Laser +9.

-Distinctive-looking thanks to the arm-blades and bug-head, this is the "Robot Killer". Its mission is to "soften up" tanks and giant robots by disabling weapon systems and sensors, then moving on so the other troops can mop up. Much is made of how Mantis pilots tend to have a code of honor to not attack fallen opponents (given their actual job, this is more pragmatism than "honor" to me). They typically attack in groups. Their fighting style is said to be similar to Juicers and Crazies, and has led to them being very popular in the Robodome against such opponents. Not that Palladium's system is really complex enough to use said "tactics" but whatever.

"Med-Rec/White Knight"- Toughness +10, 50 mph, Flight 70 mph, Grenades, Jaws of Life, Laser Torch, Sensors, Medical Gear.

-Units meant to team up with the large Medical Robots, the "White Knights" are medical rescue units usually worn by battlefield paramedics. They have mostly gear designed to save lives, like nano-robots that enter bodies to stem bleeding and the like.

Juicer Killer

"Juicer Killer"- Toughness +11, Blast 13, Grenades, Counters "Automatic Dodge" of Juicers (Ranged Attack +8), -2 Fighting.

-From Juicer Uprising, it's a combination NG/CS design for... killing juicers. It adds EIGHT extra attacks per round to a character, but only from the shoulder-mounted guns.

"Midas"- Toughness +12, 100 mph, Laser Cannon +14, Forearm Blasters +9, Vibro-Blades +7, Vibro-Polearm +11, Mini-Missiles, ST 7, 12 feet tall.

-Massive 12-foot armors that back up faster ground troops with a huge cannon and a Vibro-Polearm.

"Night Reaper"- Toughness +10, 50 mph, Vibro-Scythe +9.

-A unit of stealth armor, with much more M.D.C. than most (near equivalent to a CS Dead Boy) and the same "Universal Energy Link" that can power any handheld weapon using the suit's own energy. No armaments due to stealth requirements.

"Pit Fighter"- Toughness +9, 30 mph, optional weapons: Flamethrower +11, Eye Lasers +9, Forearm Blaster +10, Ion/Plasma +11, Grenades, Vibro-Sword +8, Net Launcher, Vibro-Sword Chainsaw +12.

-Customizable Robodome-quality power armors. With a Transformer-like face and everything. The weapons are entirely variable, and the armor is designed to be chipped away in a showy visual.

-A generic-looking suit "cannibalized" from the others, named for its advanced sensors.

"Protege"- Toughness +12, 50 mph, Particle Beam Blaster +13, Vibro-Sword +8, Grenades, Sensors, ST 7.

-A remarkably tough unit designed to be a smaller version of the Samson, taking the name "Sammy Junior". Said to be wildly popular.

"Red Hawk"- Toughness +10, 50 mph, Flight 250 mph, Rail Gun +13, Mini-Missiles, Vibro-Blades +8, ST 7.

-A lightly-armored SAMAS equivalent, like the Blue Hawk.
