The Operative
CND: -2, Fatigued, HP: 1 JuryRig: 2
Utility Belt: Relocation disks
Projection System: Laser Barrage
Scanner Suite: Visual gain penetrating, radius

The Operative sets blinkmode on her relocation disks and appears briefly behind the alemental, firing a focused-light barrage into it's back, then next instant back in her spot [Turnabout].
attack PA2: 1D20+12-2 = [16]+12-2 = 26
DC21+2 toughness +any generated from multiattack. Your call if alemental was vulnerable from her teleport with turnabout.
If you want, Skill Master:deception makes her deception score a 26(-5 for used as a Move action) vs. its insight or will.
Maggie Cole:

Maggie felt a little nausea as her shift in visuals at Dana's flicker but breathed through it.

Warlock
HP: 1; Cond: Fatigued; Bruised (-1)

Shocked by the enchanted berserker throwing himself in front of Martin's spell to shield the dwarven maleficar, Warlock blanked for a moment. He hadn't thought that innocent civilians enchanted by spirits of rage and ferocity would act in such a way... perhaps another aspect of that sinister corruption this dvergr had utilized upon the rage-spirits that infested the dockworkers and made them berserkers? Nevertheless, it proved to Martin that he had to be very careful about throwing around blast-spells if the minions would throw themselves in the way like human shields.

Rainbow Star, the neon-colored flashlight heroine, seemed to pull on another light-construct maneuver to create a barrier and block off at least one of the berserkers, but the Alemental was already battering it down, cracking the hard-light wall that was now moments from crumbling. The speedster was preoccupied with... something, Martin/Sam didn't know what, and the other heroes were on the move: the tech-ghost aiming for the Alemental while the powerhouse seemed to rush to punch the dwarf again.

Martin thought quickly and acted fast. The dwarf's main forms of magic he had seen involved utilizing summoned spirits (the Fire FIend, the Alemental, and the Beerserker spirits) and spitting magical flames from his mouth... All of which were dangerous, but the spirits could be tamed if the dwarf could no longer give commands, and the magical fire-breath... well, little he could do about that as conjuring a gag wouldn't help much if the dwarf wouldn't sit-still long enough for him to apply it.

The Warlock's hands were awhirl, conjuring the forces unseen. But instead of building them into malevolent power, Martin shaped them to reach out and grasp at the world, to wrap chains upon spirit and form. "If you conjure spirits to do your bidding and take your punishment for you, then I shall conjure bindings so you cannot escape justice so easily!" he proclaimed as his magic rushed to seize the dwarf in his scarlet binds.

The beer beast gurgles in pained frustration as the operative comes up behind it, blasting into it with familiar beams of light once more. It's pounding against the prismatic barrier only increases in scope, as it now seems keen on getting it's revenge against her!

While that goes on, Hellcat races in to gently take out the last female civilian still in harms way, leaving the door wide open for Octogirl to come in with her suckerpunch. The Dwarf's head snaps back from the blow, leaving him dazed yet not down for the count. Seeing his weakness, Warlock's arcane chains are quickly put into work in trying to secure the firesspitter. Yet, he's not completely as unaware as he seems, the bindings only snagging his legs.

His eyes were wide as he took in how quickly things were turning against him.

GM: Good teamwork, RS and Exemplar are up! Still need saves from RS and Operative this round!

RAINBOW STAR
[HP:0] Cond: Exhausted, Toughness at 2, -1 to toughness saves, Dazed(To end of round)

RS throws her arms up as she's pelted with the dwarf's attack and the barrier she crafted falls. With her defenses weakened, she does take another solid hit and while it does have her seeing stars, it doesn't manage to completely stop her. Gritting her teeth, she wasn't about to give up either, even if she was almost tapped out on resources. RS didn't have any big moves left that wouldn't put her out of the fight, but she could keep blocking Absynthe off from his protective support, the other heroes could finish the villain off.

Casting her hands outwards again, RS re-creates her RAINBOW BARRIER, taller and stronger, to resist the pummeling of the alemental and keep it busy, though this causes the glow around RS to fade as her
RAINBOW PROTECTION
is turned off and channelled fully into the new wall.

In the chat window, Star's fans were cheering her on, seeing she was exhausted and running on low. While she wasn't taking too much damage thanks to her RAINBOW BLESSING, her energy levels we running low after pushing herself in the last battle, and immediately followed by this one
Toughness vs DC22: 1D20+7 = [10]+7 = 17 Missed that she needed a toughness roll too. My bad. Oh well, doesn't mess anything else up. I also forgot to apply the -2 from Exhausted's Impaired condition, but it doesn't change the degrees of failure, so doesn't make a difference here.

Free action adjusting her defensive array to crank RAINBOW BARRIER up to rank 9 to make it tougher (9pp), and size to rank 9 as well to make it bigger (9pp). Along with the 2pp base for the immunity to light descriptor damage, that completely turns off RAINBOW PROTECTION. Standard action to put up the new wall.

New wall is 50ft long in total, 20ft high, and 6 inches thick, 500 cubic foot volume which is rank 9 to it's max. RS is hovering at 15ft, right above Absynthe, so she's right next to the wall, so that should prevent the alemental from attacking her over the wall or something, but we shall see!

Exemplar
Hero Points: 1; Luck Points: 1; Condition: Fatigued

*I don't care what parental or other issues may have brought you to this life of crime!* Exemplar telepathically transmits to Absynthe and the rest of the group. *We will defeat you regardless. But using normal people as meat shields so that the supposedly mighty villain can avoid a blow? That shows you up as the coward and scoundrel you are! And reminds us why we fight - to protect people like them from the likes of you!*

With her hand still at her temple she sends another blast of psychic energy towards the villain!

Nearly through the barrier, it's sudden re-emergence outrages the elemental being as it's master is once more cut off from it. It can do nothing but continue to batter against every wall Rainbow Star puts into place, it's own body slowly reforming while it's master continued to suffer injury after injury.

The dwarf in question once more is having his mind invaded, strange foreign thoughts thrust into his brain that make him twist up in pained torment. "ᚹᚺᛖᚱᛖ ᚨᚱᛖ ᛁᛟᚢ? ᚹᚺᛖᚱᛖ ᚨᚱᛖ ᛁᛟᚢ?! ᚹᚺᛖᚱᛖ?! ᚠᚨᚲᛖ ᛗᛖ ᛁᛟᚢ ᚲᛟᚹᚨᚱᛞ!" He shouts, looking side to side frantically as flames spit from his mouth. As he takes a deep breath, Hellcat is well able to notice the signs of an impending cascade of flames and in a split-second quickly removes downed civilians from harms way. It comes not a moment too late, as fire rockets out from his mouth directly underneath his feat, the backdraft hitting both Octogirl and Rainbow while Warlock remains just out of range thanks to the wall.

With torrent of fire his body is sent hurling upwards, with discernably less grace than previously. His attempts at getting over the barrier are forfeited by his bound and staggered state, bouncing off of and only just managing to roll back onto his feet next to the nagging spellcaster. Grabbing one of the arcane shackles around his limbs, he quickly pulls taught to snap them into aether. "ᛁ×ᛚᛚ ᛒᚢᚱᚾ ᛁᛟᚢ ᛏᛟ ᚨ ᚲᚱᛁᛊᛈ!" He snarls, staring up a the man with raging coals in place of eyes.

GM: He's running on fumes!

RAINBOW STAR
[HP:0] Cond: Exhausted, Toughness at 2, -2 to toughness saves, Dazed(Again. To end of round)

RS was confident when she saw the alemental slam ineffectually against her barrier, she was caught off guard when the villain unleashed an omnidirectional attack. Really bad timing with her barrier down, she takes the blast head on coming out the otherside, still head-spinning but also still in the fight. "That the best you got, villain?" she quips.

Meanwhile in the chat, numerous messages of support and encouragement flood the chat box. "You got this RS!" "Hang in there, Star!" "Kick his a**!"
<Insert "Not today Satan" meme here> Rainbow Barrier toughness vs DC27: 1D20+9 = [20]+9 = 29 The wall persists!

Rainbow Barrier vs DC25 : 1D20+9 = [4]+9 = 13 against Absynth's burst though, not so lucky. Not a finishing attack before no attack roll, but no dodge roll for inanimate objects either. No HP to reroll either so, oh well. The wall is blasted away again. Still protected the witless mind controlled minions at least.

And for RS herself...
Rainbow Star Dodge vs DC20 : 1D20+6 = [10]+6 = 16 no dice there. Let's hope for a lucky roll on the toughness check, or she's gonna drop! (I forgot the -2 from Impaired again.. doesn't make a difference here though. I'll remmeber on her toughenss roll since that's.... uh, a flat d20 roll -1 actually with the penalty from the last hit she took.

Rainbow Star Toughness vs DC25 : 1D20-1 = [18]-1 = 17 Whew....only 2 degrees. Dazed again and another -1 (Total -2, though she'll return to -1 on her turn from Regen)

Warlock
HP: 1; Cond: Fatigued; Bruised (-1)

Martin/Sam almost let out a laugh of triumph as the bindings caught hold on the dwarf's legs, and the neon-heroine raised up another glittering barrier just as the previous one shattered to keep the Alemental occupied. This was, however, short-lived as keeping hold of the dvergr mage's legs didn't stop him from breathing fire... and using that habanero-hot spew to not only threaten some of them, but also launch himself through the air, right next to the Wandering Warlock.

And of course Martin should have expected a dvergr with bound spirits from Muspelheim to have the mental fortitude necessary to break those bindings. Most online guides Sam had looked at while picking out his basic spell-selection had warned that those binding spells were primarily effective against more mindless brutes who relied on fists more than understanding of the world. Against other sorcerers, the usual strategy was to rely on magical versatility -- to triumph through the knowledge you possessed and how skillful you were with handling magic.

Or through simply having enough arcane firepower that skill was a non-issue. Sam wasn't the best of video-game players. He did this to have fun with his roleplaying, and to explore the limits of the game's magical world and all the stuff it would and would not allow. But in the heat of battle, one would have to forgive him for forgetting that he was actually a pretty smart guy with the creativity to think up a multitude of solutions to life's problems when he was in the mood to just blast something.

Of course, given that the dvergr was right in front of his face, breathing fire hot enough to incinerate a normal man in seconds, Sam/Martin was going to at least keep his wits about him as he did so. The air crackled around him as the Warlock mustered his arcane strength, his fists practically a-glow with the eldritch energies coursing through him. At this range, Martin could see every little crease on the dwarf's furious face, and some small part of Martin exulted in the naked fury writ upon his foe's visage. It helped distract him from the fact the dwarf's mere presence was sweltering, glowing with the molten malevolence of Muspelheim, and that if he didn't move, Martin was going to be right in the path of that fire-breath, practically point-blank. Instead, Martin faced that fury with a near-manic grin.

Contrary to popular belief, students of the Arcane Order did learn the basics of martial arts. Not that Martin was ever any good at it (too much of a bookworm), but he knew enough to defend himself... a little. Enough that he ignored the basic tenets of "Video-game Magic-User 101" by not moving away and instead meeting the dwarf head-on. Martin had no idea what the dvergr had said. Honestly, he didn't care. He started into the burning pits of his enemy's eyes and retorted with the first thing that came to mind.

"I don't care for your flame-throwing halitosis! Have an eldritch breath-mint, you blaggard!"

And with that, Martin thrust his palms forward, sending his arcane power surging through him to blast the dwarf right in the face with the explosive fury of a magical howitzer.

Huh. If I had known I was going to roll that well, maybe I should have Power-Attacked as well and upped the DC to 30  .
