The Snap: Birth of the Marvel Mutant Nation

Post by StarGuard »

I'm preparing a home game based one year after The Snap, the time period also called the Blip. Snap sounds cooler.

The destructive effects of the Snap began to be apparent moments after Thanos activated the Infinity Gauntlet, with half of all life in the universe randomly disintegrating into dust. All types of sentient life forms perished in the Snap. Beyond Earth and Titan, there were also several Asgardian casualties, including Sif and an Asgardian actor who portrayed Loki in The Tragedy of Loki of Asgard. Even other dimensions, such as the Quantum Realm, were affected by the Snap.

Statistics of Earth after the Snap

On Earth, there were at least 3,797,000,000 humans confirmed deceased or missing worldwide, according to a statistical report issued by the United Nations in conjunction with the World Bank. According to a computer display at the Avengers Compound which depicted multiple worldwide censuses, an average of 57.5% of the human population survived.

"When Thanos snapped his fingers, Earth become ground zero for a power surge of ridiculously cosmic proportions. No one’s seen anything like it."
―Rocket Raccoon

The power surge from The Snap activated the mutant gene that had been dormant in approx. 1 out every million humans. Before The Snap it would have taken exposure to an active Infinity Stone or something else of similar to activate a human's dormant mutant powers. The power surge was indiscriminate of age, race or sex, though younger individuals are more likely to have been affected.
