That vial, whatever it was, seemed important. It didn't sparkle like the gold in the room would or have the potential shine as much though. "You wouldn't happen to have an interest in the gold in the other room Shaper?", asked Craze with the obvious reasons. If D'Tan wanted something, he would take it. So, best to get that out of the way before Craze went for it himself.

"Thank you."

... the Shaper responded when Meat Shield pointed out the tiny holes. D'Tan paused briefly at the door to look up at them. Then continued on to stand in front of the canister. There was a momentary silence from him before he responded to Craze's inquiry about the gold imbedded in the stone floor of one of the other rooms.

"I have no use for gold."

If Craze was going to clean the gold, not just get it out of the floor, he was going to need some water. That meant finding someone to help him with the water pup that he found in the kitchen. Pounce was heading that way. He had an opportunity to show her something while also getting her help with a suppl of water for his gold cleaning plans.

Pounce for her part ransacks the kitchen. It is well cleaned out. No food. Only the things fixed to the structure and a few scattered items of little importance remained. Dishes and the like. They were all dirty. Some rusted or covered in mold or other griminess. Whatever she took with her was going to need some cleaning. The water pump Craze found offered a supply of water she could use for cleaning as well as storing for travel. Though pots full of water would be awkward to transport.

Eventually you are all summoned to the northeastern pillar-room, which had the only other exterior door leading out of the structure. When you see the Shaper he is pale. A pale blue light dimly glows under his skin, and his eyes have a harder look to them. To Pounce his presence is more prominent. Like a star that had grown brighter in the night's sky or a scent that had become more potent. Shaper D'Tan does not entertain conversation about the changes to his person. Deflecting questions and steering your attention elsewhere is any are posed.

With no further meandering your head outside and into the fresh air once more. The sun has crested the summit of the sky and started it's descent into the latter half of the day. Ahead of you are thirty foot tall statues of robes figures in domineering poses. Further on, some four hundred meters away, is a field where a herd of Ornks are grazing. Amidst them is a lone humanoid form clad in a hooded brown robe. They hold a staff in one hand and appear to be keeping watch over the Ornks.

Chips, Meat Shield, and Pounce receive 1 HP for finding the canister for the Shaper and generally working to better the Shaper's situation.

Craze, if you want to get the gold out of the floor, that is going to take some work. Make three Athletic checks. I'll average this to see how much work you can get done before the Shaper is ready to leave.

Pounce will be able to find some eating utensils and dishes. Plates. Bowls. Pots. Pans. Cups. Spoons and forks. That sort of thing. It'd be awkward, but you could also store some water in the pots once you've cleaned them.

Meat Shield hangs back a bit as they make their way out, and peers into the room where they found the canister to see what state it is in. If it is, as they suspect, empty now, they look to see if there are any traces of the glowing fluid that was inside. If there are they scrape up a bit on their finger and lick it...

If they don't explode or anything they rejoin the group on their way out.

Once Craze had pointed out the water pump, Pounce thanked the avian by offering one of the bronze coins she had found earlier. Then she set to work cleaning a few utensils, and some of the plates and bowls. A set or two for the Shaper, and another couple of sets for the rest of the group to share, if needed. After a bit of fiddling about, she decided not to try to carry extra water- the arrangements were too clumsy, and on a few tries she ended up spilling most of it before she got out of the building. She would have to make that a priority as they continued to explore... At least, if the Shaper needed some, they had a reliable source in the area.

Once they headed out again, she kept near the Shaper, alert for anything interesting- or dangerous.

Chips just wandered around looking for things to fix while Shaper D'Tan was busy with the canister.

He waits for instructions on how to deal with the creatures ahead.

When D'Tan expressed no interest in the gold, Craze couldn't understand why. It was shiny, once cleaned up. It glistened like heaven under the sun. It had an almost transfixing quality to it. D'tan was strange though. He took off to the kitchen area only to find Pounce there already looking about for things and with some "helpful" tips he got some water himself from the pump like aperture.

he rushed back to the gold and dug into with his claws and beak as quick as he could. Unfortunately, he was not made for physical exertion and his efforts didn't quite work out to get im any of that precious material before the Shaper called him back.

Meat Shield checks the secret room but finds the canister empty. There is no sign of the substance that was inside the canister. Not even a smudge or droplet. The canister itself has cracks all over it's crystalline glass surface.

Craze doesn't manage to get any gold. But you may add a bronze coin to your inventory, from Pounce. It is already nice and clean too, as she spent some time last night polishing her coins.

There are TONS of things for Chips to fix. He doesn't get very far before it is time to leave though.

The young Shaper stares into the distance, but does not give any command when the lone figure surrounded by Ornk comes into view. He just ... keep walking. One hand idly strokes at Pounce's back when she comes near, but no commands are given.

Eventually the robed figure turns in the direction of your group and takes note of your advance. They are still for a moment. Then they begin wading through the Ornk herd towards you. Once free of the herd's number ... the begin to run at you. One arm pumping up and down while their wooden staff is held at their side. They're shouting something excitedly.

As the robed figure starts running towards the Shaper, Meat Shield moves to place themselves between him and the figure, ready to attack, defend or Interpose depending on what the figure does.

They do try to understand what the figure is shouting as they approach as this may help them best respond to what they are doing...

Without preamble, the Mind launches a mental probe into the approaching figure's head to grasp the full circumstances of this situation.

Despite the distance, and the warble that comes with running and shouting at the same time, Meat Shield is able to make out the robed figure shouting: "A Shaper!", over and over again. They are also able to note the voice has a deep masculine tone to it. Further, Meat Shield's keen eye is able to take note of more of the person's features. They have rough brownish skin. Large almond shaped eyes, and a long drooping snout that extends from the center of their face. Their posture is also bent and hunched over.


The Mind sends a psionic probe into the being's mind. Like a worming tendril it creeps it's way into their thoughts and memories. The victim's weak will succumbs to the psionic intrusion, it's defenses circumvented with minimal effort. Mind drinks in the thoughts and memories. It is a satisfying experience. Finally ... something that nurtures it that does not harm it's companions. The Mind searches thought ad memory for an indication as to why the being is so excited.

Mind experiences days in the sun. There in the field. Surrounded by Ornks and in the shadow of the aging Shaper structure. Alone with the Ornks. Day after day. Then, today, your group arrives. There is initial fear at the sight of the various Creations in your group before attention settles on D'Tan. A Shaper. It has to be a Shaper. Only a Shaper could come through those doors. A Shaper! A Shaper! A ... the link breaks. Mind's psionic probe is instinctively forced out and their senses are once again widened to the rest of the world around, rather than submerged in another being's mental space.

After Mind's initial success, the target made the DC 15 Will check to prevent further Mind Reading.

Blades extend from Chips hands, forming his hands and forearms into sword.

He takes a defensive stance in front of Shaper D'Tan, flanking Meat Shield.

As Chips and Meat Shield shifted their positions to protect the Shaper from the obvious creature, Pounce almost instinctively shifted back a few steps, once again placing the Shaper at the center of a protective triangle. While there was one creature that they could see, Pounce remembered how the Fyora had acted- the robed being might not be the only one of its kind. She scanned the area, looking for less apparent potential threats- she would not be distracted by all the juicy ornks...

Craze was flying quite content with himself on getting a new shiny despite not getting the one he wanted. His collection was coming along nicely. Now, he was flying free as the others walked and everything seemed like it was going to be easy. That was until the Ornk herder came rushing at D'Tan. Craze took up a circular pattern in the air around D'Tan ready to strike at anyone who attacked him. In addition, he took a good whiff of the air and a look at the creature rushing at D'Tan.
