Meat Loaf is gone

Post by Neo-Paladin »

He passed away at 74 years of age.
I know, his ballads are kitschy, but damn, they always hit me right where it counts. Even to this day, " I would do anything for love" and " Objects in the rear view mirror (may appear closer than they are)" often bring me to tears. He managed to make the ordinary grandiose and fill simple ballads with enough emotion to transform them into something epic.
I grew up in the 80s and 90s and I have loved his music from the moment I heard it first. He hasn't done much in the last couple of years due to his health and voice issues, but the news still hits home.
Rest in Peace, man. Now you get to rock on the other side.

He always said Heaven can wait. I guess it couldn't wait anymore.
