The movie was out of his head now and the door seemed all the more interesting. Might as well try it out fully, Luke figured. He grabbed the knocker and gave it a go.

The door knocker forms a sort of face and mouth. In a gravelly voice with an accent of someone who grew up in the Riverside area of Freedom City, it says, "Go away! I'm looking for a magi and that ain't you." Then the knocker returns to its normal appearance.

Evelyn was about to say something when Zyzzak's voice came over the sound system. He drew in a breath and let it out slowly in a sigh.
"I have just been informed that there is some manner of door shaped anomaly in the base. You'll have to excuse me sir. I need to look into this."
She gave Commander Parrish an opportunity to respond, if he needed to, before she hung the phone. Evelyn then opened the bottom left drawer of her desk. It was full of nails. She shoved her hand into the mass of pointed metal objects, and the metal crawled it's way up her limb, under her uniform. Soon every part of her that was clothed would be coated in a layer of metal. Shortly afterwards Evelyn exited her office and made way to the rec room. Her pace slowed when she saw the door. Her eyes narrowing subtly.
"There is a situation in Freedom City. We might be called in to support Squad 1."
After getting that out of the way, she looks to the others.
"Where is Madame Macabre, and why is there a magic door in our base?"

When Bulwark asked her questions Luke just shrugged. "I was settled in with some Reeds Creek whiskey and a peanut butter, banana, and chips sandwich to watch a movie when I almost tripped over this thing.", replied Luke. His nearly finished bottle and half eaten sandwich were still on the table by the recliner. The glass was still in his hand. Despite the amount of alcohol consumed, Luke didn't shew any signs of inebriation.
"I tried knocking, but seems this door is partial to mages. Probably good to go check on our resident magi.", adds Luke starting to turn after taking another sip. The warning of possibly needed to aid another team, a magical door, and everything else didn't even seem to phase him at all. If it surprised her, then it would definitely surprise some of her peers.
It was things like that move that Harry had done that impressed Harper. While it was clear to her that the older man had a long lifetime’s worth of experience fighting it was vastly different from hers. It clearly a self-made style that Harry had been honed over several years of actual use down to a version that was extremely effective for him.
That was a kind of skill and dedication that was highly respectable to Harper, she felt that she could learn much from her teammate and looked forward to the experience. She hoped that she could return the favor by showing Harry a few things that would suit his physical strengths that he could easily incorporate into his arsenal.
It was with that thought that Harper returned to their arranged starting point to begin another round. “The score is twenty-one to twenty, whenever you are ready Harry.” Harper’s smile widened slightly as she assumed her stance.

A DDT?” She still felt a tingly twinge in between her shoulder blades from the impact of her head hitting the ground after Harry had gotten her in a headlock at his side. Harry smiled, but internally he was thinking damn it.
Harper was very good at reading attacks and countering, and every time he started on the offensive he always wound up taking a hit or two. A part of him wished Bruce was still around, he would have loved to have a pupil like Harper.
Just as he was about to commit himself to an attack he heard the radio queue on and Zyzzak's voice informing them of the situation.
"On our way," Harry responds before stepping back off the training mats.
"Word of advice, if it sounds weird, but it isn't a rush you probably should take the opportunity to get your uniform and gear. And a bathroom break if you need it," Harry says, "My experience is that the stuff that starts slow usually doesn't give you time to breathe once it gets started, and you might not get another oppertunity."
Harry grabbed his bag and paused in the bathroom to change into his uniform. The new boots were a little uncomfortable, but that was to be expected. Boots never felt good until they'd had a few months of use in them. He'd replaced his old boots with a new pair using some remarkably old technology built into them.
An old crimefighting duo he'd occasionally crossed paths with had used Static Shoes to run up walls and walk on the ceilings. They'd gifted him a pair, ages ago. And while that pair had fallen into disrepair, Zyzzak had been able to reverse engineer the technology to make him a new pair.
Honestly he'd been able to make a far better set, but Harry had been hesitant. He wanted to get used to using them again before he started upgrading them. That being said the alien technician had done amazing work.
A few moments later he was on his way, entering the Rec room in full costume with his shield.
"So what's the situation?"
