The Shield

Zyzzak has either just described the biggest, most elaborate WWII re-enactment of all time, or you are in Germany, and it is 1942.

Madame Macabre

A powerful wave of mystical energy emanates from the castle and drives the necromancer to one knee. Somebody is preparing for a massive ritual.

This much magic could easily create a planet ending event.

Harry "The Shield" Mackenzie
HP: 0 Condition: Normal

"Oh for crying out loud," Harry mumbled to himself.

Clearing his throat he turned to the team, "Either this is an elaborate illusion, or we've time traveled back to World War two."

He pauses to gather his thoughts before adding, "Which actually happens more often than I'd like to admit."

"Hopefully this is an illusion, time travel can be... messy."

Madame Macabre

HP: 1
Cnd: Normal

"Ugh!..." Elizabeth catches herself with her hands as she crumbles to one knee. "The Castle!...Powerful arcane energy is being focused for some kind of spell. If it is Medea and she is using the Alternity Atlas, it cannot be for good. We need to make haste and stop this ritual!"

The pale young woman forces herself to slowly stand. "If you'll all gather, I can try to teleport us to the keep as quickly as possible."
OOC: Elizabeth will wait to see if her idea is excepted. If so, then it might be easier to "blink" there and back with multiple teleports (taking as many as she can and using turnabout) rather than power-stunting to take everyone at once. If agreed upon (or ordered by Bulwark), that is what she'll do.

If asked to, Zyzzak will take a picture with his magnified visual sensors then descend to gather.

He poses that hiccup to the group as well. Perhaps this wasn't going to be a solution as it had been for the hospital afterall.

Evelyn "Bulwark" Gracen
HP: 3
Cnd: Healthy

No satellite connection. Evelyn shared that information with the group. Her expression soured later when she heard the Shield's comments. Time travel. 1942 Nazis. She cursed under her breath. Then Madame Macabre fell and Bulwark's expression turned to one of concern. She offered the necromancer a hand up, then looked over the team.

"We're caught up in a predestination paradox. Whatever we do in this time period is probably going to involve the Horde. That is why they knew us and had such a hate-on for us."

There was a brief pause before he gestured down towards the group.

"Zyzzak, sketch us a map. Use dirt and a stick if you need to. Note cover along the way to the fortification, positions of equipment, and personnel."

"Cool" Luke
HP: 1
CND: Ice Cold

"I guess it's too late to get disguises just to mess with time. Some metal controller, ice man, martial artist, and so on without faces to throw them off from hating us. Just out of curiosity, if time loves bring us back to WWII so much, it probably has figured out all the ways people mess with it and factors it in. Fixed moment in time or something. So, since the world doesn't end, we probably won this already right...", starts Luke before going too deep down that rabbit hole. "On Second thought, ignore that. lets go beat up some Nazi's.", finishes Luke. Thinking about temporal mechanics wasn't his bag. No need to take it up now.

Dirt and Stick?” The alien engineer with centuries of racial technological advancement asked incredulously. “How about i try to access one of your phone’s Bluetooth capabilities and force a synchronization and image transfer?”
Doable with technological communication?

Harry "The Shield" Mackenzie
HP: 0 Condition: Normal

"It's always a good idea to assume that everything is just as dangerous now as it was before you time travelled. There are, hmmm, lets call them loopholes," Harry notes, "Always best to play it safe."

He pulls out his cellphone from a reinforced pocket on his jacket. After all these years he valued having a secondary communication device on him, even if he had it powered down most of the time.

"Here, you can use this," He says offering it to Zyzzak.

All

This is a basic look of the castle.

Michael Tumey Gothic Castle Grounds

There are two tanks at the main entrance in the bottom left, and two more inside the grounds. Most of the towers have 2 men in them as lookouts, and there are 3 dozen more inside the compound.

Zyzzak can't see inside the main building.

Evelyn "Bulwark" Gracen
HP: 3
Cnd: Healthy

"That is not what I asked for."

... Evelyn groused at Zyzzak's attempt at ingenuity. She frowned at the xeno, then took the smartphone away from hm after he finished. Slowly she shook her head, as if to emphasize her displeasure. Then Bulwark went and did what she had asked Zyzzak to do: sketch out a larger picture on the ground with a thin piece of metal extending from her left index finger. So that everyone could see without crowding around a tiny smart phone. She didn't stop at the castle, extending to lay out the geography of the surrounding landscape, up to where the team was currently standing.

"Madame Macabre, take note of the terrain."

She looked up from the map, to Elizabeth. Then brought her eyes back to the map. She pointed to the nearest patch of cover. Then another patch, and another, creating a trail leading up to the east side of the castle.

"Transport Zyzzak, Shield, and Pheonix first. Save Luke and I for last."
OOC wrote:In case a check is needed to map out a route to advance under cover here is an Expertise Military check: Advance under cover Military: 1D20+8 = [6]+8 = 14
After providing the necromancer with directions Evelyn pans her gaze over the rest fo the team, then points to the three tower lined up north to south on the east side of the castle wall.

"Once we've all be moved into position on the east side, Shield, Phoenix, and Zyzzak advance on the three central towers on the east wall, with Zyzzak at the center most tower. Take out the guards. In the event we go unnoticed up to that point Madame Macabre can move the rest of us to Zyzzak's tower and we will assess a means of navigating the main building."

A final tap is given to the central building ... and she paused for a few seconds.

"We are going to need a way of locating this ritual site that Macabre warned us about. It may be worth capturing and interrogating a guard. But that comes with the risk of their alerting the others."

Madame Macabre

HP: 1
Cnd: Normal

Elizabeth watches intently as the crude map is sketched out on the ground. Of particular interest is the teleportation-route and intervening cover indicated by Bulwark.

"Zyzzak, Shield, and Phoenix first!...Got it!"

There were several steps in her leader's plan, but the pale young woman focused on her immediate job first. "Ok ladies and gents..." her Louisiana accent hardly contained, "...grab hold of my clothing, hand, or whatever and hang on."
OOC: When her teammates are ready, Elizabeth will proceed to "Blink" them -position by position- to the final destination Bulwark desires. Elizabeth will also stick to the recommended route in an attempt to conceal her teleportation from observers in the castle towers.
Here is Elizabeth's Insight roll to find an ideal final destination for her teleport: Insight Roll for Destination: 1d20+8 23. So, a total of 23.

How far away is the final teleport point, keeping in mind the tower guards are about 60' above the ground in their perches?
