Build Comments: If you have monsters, you have to have some monster slayers so here is Blade.

Will we actually ever get the Blade MCU movie? I keep holding out hope but it’s fading.

Secret Origins: Eric Brooks was born in Soho, London, on the 24th October 1929. His father, Lucas Cross, a member of the secret society the Order of Tyrana, sent his pregnant wife Tara to England before he was taken prisoner in Latveria. There she took the name "Vanessa Brooks" and found shelter with brothel owner Madame Vanity, another member of the Order of Tyrana. Experiencing labor complications, Tara was forced to seek a doctor's assistance. The doctor, Deacon Frost, was actually a ravenous vampire and feasted on the woman as she gave birth, passing on a series of enzymes that altered her baby. The enzymes entered the infant's bloodstream, transforming him into a being tainted by a vampire's kiss, but not converted. In other words half-human, half-vampire also called a Dhampir. Frost was driven away before he could slay the child, but Tara perished, leaving the orphaned Eric Brooks to be raised at Madame Vanity's brothel.

The Story so Far: While he was growing up on the street of London, he ran into American veteran Vampire Slayer, Jamal Afari and saved him from being killed by vampires with a grudge against the old man. Afari soon learned about Eric and his origins and decided to take him under his wing, becoming his mentor and foster-father and helping him to control his powers. Afari taught Eric everything he knew about hunting, fighting, and killing vampires.

Determined to avenge his mother's death, Eric fashioned himself into a vampire hunter like Afari while still a teenager and started calling himself Blade, after the sharp weapons with which he used to kill vampires. Finally, Blade and Afari split up when Jamal willingly took the fall for murder when Blade killed a man (who was suffering from a derangement), whom he mistook for a vampire.

Blade committed himself to hunting and slaying supernatural creatures, especially vampires, which has led him into countless adventures across the world.

Characterization: Blade is driven to hunt and kill supernatural creatures at the expense of almost everything else in his life.

Friends and Foes: He had many affiliations throughout the years with groups like the Nightstalkers, Midnight Sons, Avengers, Defenders and other groups. His greatest enemy is Dracula but has run afoul of many vampire lords and powerful supernatural entities.

When you get down to it, it’s just work. Everyone’s got to work, right? You got to eat, got to put a roof over your head…and these outfits don’t come cheap. Throw some henchmen in the mix and buddy, you can’t afford to take it easy. So you do dirty deeds for dirtier dollars. Industrial espionage, muscle work, bodyguarding… … Murder… Hell, even the lowest of the low… … Golf. - Taskmaster

Abilities 74 + Skills 39 (78 ranks) + Advantages 26 + Powers 42 + Defenses 9 = 190 / 190

Build Comments: Really became a fan of the Taskmaster . Not only does he have a great power set with the Photographic Reflexes which allows him to mimic any skills and/or combat abilities he has a chance to observe, he’s become a fascinating character. In the last issues of Avengers: The Initiative he was the focus of the book, and a fine lead character was he was. Then in Siege, he had a pretty good role as the villain who got “promoted” to the big leagues and helped them fight, and take down Thor, but he had a LOT of help for that. But then he got schooled by Bucky Cap. Oh well, he was smart enough to high-tail it before things went completely to hell and that’s what I love about him. He’s an opportunist.

I set his power with 20 pts of skills, feats, and/or active defenses that he can get based on who he’s copying. He can either be hard to hit or hard to hurt, hit with Bullseye type accuracy or Wolverine power, do acrobatics better then DD or Nightwing or whatever he needs at the time. He'd be a great fight for Batman.

Secret Origins: Tony Masters gained an ability known as "photographic reflexes" during a mission as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. This ability enabled him to watch another person's physical movements and duplicate them without any practice, no matter how complex. It was only limited by the fact that the memories he gained by watching others overwrote his personal memories. He was previously a naturally gifted athlete who trained himself to superb physical condition. He committed the fighting styles of Captain America, Black Panther, Daredevil, Elektra, Hawkeye, Punisher, Tigra, USAgent, Spider-Man and Wolverine to memory, as well as many others.

The Story so Far: The Taskmaster had scientists duplicate versions of a variety of weapons used by super-humans which he could use with nearly as great facility as their respective owners. He had a copy of Daredevil's multipurpose billy club, Hawkeye's trick arrows and bow, the Black Knight's sword, and a shield designed like Captain America's (but it was not indestructible; it was only an osmium alloy). He also sometimes carried a .45 caliber Colt automatic, which he could use in the style of the Punisher.

Eventually, the Taskmaster considerably changed his appearance. He wore a costume apparently modeled after tactical body armor, replacing his previous pirate-themed garb. The Taskmaster also ceased carrying an arsenal of duplicate weapons. Instead, his armament consisted primarily of a pair of semi-automatic handguns and a katana (which he wielded using the fighting style of the Silver Samurai). The Taskmaster also carried a prototype wrist-mounted device, stolen from S.H.I.E.L.D., which could spontaneously create simple shapes out of solid energy, saving him the trouble of weighing himself down with many weapons. He used the device to create duplicates of Captain America's shield and Spider-Man's webbing.

In addition, the Taskmaster gained new abilities. First, given observation and practice (with the aid of a voice-match recognizing device) he could duplicate the voices of others. He also displayed forms of photographic memory. More importantly, after watching video footage of fights filmed in double-time, he learned how to perform actions in double-time as well. Since the Taskmaster did not have a superhuman physique, he could only use this ability to provide short bursts of superhuman speed lasting a few seconds, or he risked seriously injuring himself.

Taskmaster came to blows with Deadpool a number of times, but the two became good friends when Taskmaster started dating Sandi Brandenburg, who had been Deadpool's Personal Assistant when he ran DP Inc. Both were employed by Agency X at the same time.

He was eventually hired by the Committee to take out Moon Knight. He raided Spector's apartment, but was unable to kill him.

He was briefly one of the Thunderbolts detainees, later being released and assigned to Camp Hammond to serve as a trainer for the Initiative recruits while their former drill instructor, Gauntlet, recuperated from injuries sustained from one of his trainees. During this time, a formerly deceased Initiative member, Michael Van Patrick acquired a weapon called the Tactigon and began assaulting everyone at the camp. The Taskmaster had little interest in participating in the fight, preferring instead to sit by the sidelines with one of his charges, Ant-Man.

Taskmaster then took over training for the entire initiative and participated in the siege of Asgard. He joined in the fight against Thor, since it would help him become a more reputable assassin. He fought both Captain Americas at the same time with unexpected success. Able to see that his side was not winning the fight, Taskmaster fled with the Constrictor to return to mercenary work. He taunted Norman Osborn with the knowledge that he had earlier assisted Deadpool.

After losing his weapons in Tokyo, Tony began a quest to attempt to remember some of the things he had been forgetting. On this quest, his former handler, The Org, seemed to put out a billion-dollar bounty on his head. Many of the teams he formerly trained, including A.I.M. and HYDRA, attempted to collect the bounty by killing him, but only succeeded in tracking him on his quest. It was during this memory quest that Tony temporarily learned his true past, that of a married, former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who mistakenly took a Nazi serum that granted him his extraordinary abilities. He also briefly met his wife and handler, Mercedes Merced. Ultimately, he was forced to learn the new fighting skill of Redshirt, the man who put out the fake bounty, which erased all of his knowledge regarding his past. Apparently, this had happened repeatedly in the past.

Characterization: Taskmaster trained his body to be in peak physical condition and engages in intensive regular exercise. His strength, endurance, stamina, reflexes, and agility are on the level of an Olympic athlete. He is nearly the physical equal of Captain America. In addition to his ability to copy the fighting techniques of others, he has mastered hundreds of forms of unarmed combat and had created some of his own original techniques as well. The Taskmaster is skilled in the use of all conventional weaponry. He is an unerring marksman as a result of the skills of various champions he committed to memory. These skills includ most present-day and many historical martial arts, boxing, wrestling, swordsmanship, archery, marksmanship, gymnastics, aerial acrobatics and sleight of hand.

The big drawback to his ability is that when Taskmaster copies something new, it pushes old memories out of his brain in a form of amnesia.

Friends and Foes: He has become allies with Deadpool on a number of occasions and has tried to restore relationships with his wife and daughter, Finesse, but his constant amnesia has prevented any lasting restoration.

KGBeast: Earth-T1

Interesting, isn't it? At no point did you talk about stealing this armory for yourselves--your own effort to rise above the criminal element here in Gotham City. Which leads me to believe your status as "Outlaws" is little more than a ruse. You are at least as protective of this city as your beloved Batman. As someone who has spent his life among double and triple agents I respect what you were attempting---so I will do you the honor of a quick death. - KGBeast

Abilities 80 + Skills 33 (66 ranks) + Advantages 29 + Powers 17 + Defenses 13 = 172 / 172

Build Comments: OK, so even Batman has gotten some clunker storylines over the years. Behold the awesomeness that is KGBeast, a 1980’s creation that Batman had to stop from killing Ronald Reagan. I had a smart-ass comment about that, but I don’t want to get into a political debate…

The Beast had a boffo debut, then fell to crap quickly, but he did have a pretty good Iron Age run for a bit, so I figure he’s due to get beat up by heroes again. In his original appearances, he went toe to toe with Batman, making me initially peg him at PL11. And his New 52 introduction was equally impressive. But I’ll write that off to new villain stink and keep him at PL10, where he can beat Batman with luck, but still be beatable by the other members of the Bat family. I modernized his background for my setting since I am trying to keep everything within a 15–20-year timeline for the superheroic world.

Secret Origins: Anatoli Knyazev, code-named "The Beast", and known to the C.I.A. as the "KGBeast" was trained as an assassin by "The Hammer," a top secret cell of the KGB and a sister project to the Red Room. In addition to being the master of several martial arts, his strength was cybernetically enhanced, and he had also mastered the use of every deadly weapon known. He was rumored to have killed at least 200 people, including Anwar El Sadat.

Similar to the Winter Soldier, Knyazev was often put in cold storage after missions. Due to a mistake during the shutdown of his project, he was sealed away for over 20 years.

The Story so Far: Discovered years later, he was released, and, in his confusion, he killed several Russian scientists and soldiers and escaped. However, before he left the facility, he found the last mission by his commanding officer. The KGBeast was to eliminate nine people necessary to America's "Strategic Defense Initiative" (the "Star Wars" program).

Despite learning of all the changes in the world over the years, the mentally unbalanced KGBeast was determined to fulfill his mission. The Beast was able to kill all but two of his still living targets, a senator, and President Ronald Reagan. Seeing that Reagan was left a shell of himself at age 92, he decided to kill the current president at the time, George W. Bush. Conveniently for him, the senator and the President were both going to be in Gotham at the same 10 day period.

Learning of the Beast’s arrival in Gotham through a tip from SHIELD, the Batman set out to stop KGBeast before he could follow through with his plan. Despite Batman's best efforts, the Beast showcased his ruthlessness by poisoning an entire banquet, killing over 100 people, just to ensure that his target would die.

When Batman finally faced the Beast in hand to hand combat, the Beast quickly gained the upper hand, fleeing only because he thought Batman had back-up. During the rematch between the two, Batman snared the Beast's left wrist with his grappling gun. Rather than be captured, the Beast grabbed a nearby axe and chopped off the restrained hand. The Beast quickly had the limb replaced with a cybernetic gun, made by one of Gotham's top weapons dealers.

Before the final confrontation between Batman and the Beast, SHIELD Agent Ralph Bundy reminded Batman that if the Beast were to be captured alive, he would have to be handed over to the Soviets, and likely escape justice. Knowing this, after thwarting the Beast's assassination attempt on the President, destroyed the Beast's gun-arm, lured him into the sewers, and then cornered him in an underground room. The Beast invited Batman to fight him to the death, but instead Batman locked the room, effectively burying the assassin alive. Batman later contacted the police to pick up the subdued villain.

After escaping custody, The Beast became more of a traditional supervillain, engaging in a counterfeiting scheme and having additional cybernetic implants inserted into his body. He fought Robin (Tim Drake) and the Huntress, but was ultimately defeated by King Snake. He later acquired a nuclear bomb the size and shape of a baseball, which he used to threaten Gotham City. He was defeated by Robin and ultimately locked up in Blackgate Penitentiary.

He became a henchmen of Lock-Up’s during the No Man’s Land events and since has turned up from time to time working for other villains in Gotham.

Characterization: The KGBeast was one of the fiercest combatants of his time, but his mental instability and loss of confidence have robbed of him of some of this ability.

Friends and Foes: He has a great enmity for the Bat family and the Russian system that he believes has betrayed him.

Reading about KGBeast was very interesting- it was like one of the most definitive versions of "New Villain Stink", with his creators obviously intending him to be a BIG, BIG DEAL, but then every subsequent story diminished the threat until he was just some background guy and was inevitably almost entirely forgotten, never used for Batman: TAS or other shows (he's a mere backgrounder in JLU!), with Bane more or less supplanting his "Mental & Physical Threat for the Bat" thing entirely.

Build Comments: I was torn about Unicorn’s PL but the more I thought about it, I really don’t want him to be much a of threat to Tony without some help so PL9 it is. If I decide to bump Iron Man up a PL or something, I’ll move him, too.

Secret Origins: Milos Masaryk was a Soviet intelligence agent assigned to track down the original Crimson Dynamo, who defected to America after being tricked by Iron Man. Wearing technology designed by the Dynamo, Masaryk gave himself the alias the "Unicorn".

The Story so Far: Unicorn battled Iron Man after Iron Man catches him spying on Stark Industries. Although Iron Man crashes the Unicorn's plane, the villain manages to escape. The Unicorn was among the villains affected by Doctor Doom's high-frequency emotion charger. As a result, the Unicorn went to the Baxter Building to attack the Fantastic Four at the wedding of Reed Richards and Susan Storm. He teamed with Beetle, Electro, Mandarin, and the Melter against Cyclops and Iceman, but the resultant combination of their power blasts knocked them all out, and they were sent back to the immediate past by Reed Richards with no memory of attack.

The Unicorn later allied himself with Count Nefaria for financial reasons, and participated in Nefaria's attack on Washington, D.C., where Nefaria trapped the city in a force field. He again battled Cyclops and succeeded in capturing him with help from the Eel, but he was stopped by the X-Men. He then underwent experimental conditioning to augment his powers. With increased strength, he battled Iron Man once more after attempting to extort money from the U.S. Congress, but he is again defeated. The process left the Unicorn with "accelerated cellular deterioration", and he was taunted with a cure by the Red Ghost in exchange for help against Iron Man. However, once it becomes evident that the Red Ghost has lied, the Unicorn aided Iron Man and later escaped.

The master villain, the Mandarin, made a similar promise to the Unicorn and deployed him against Iron Man again. On two more separate occasions, Unicorn's battle with Iron Man ended in Unicorn's defeat. Using the alias "The Other", the Titanium Man used the Unicorn against Iron Man who is finally able to capture Masaryk. In a dramatic turn, the very moment of his capture sees Masaryk slip into a life-threatening coma. Iron Man takes Masaryk to the Avengers Mansion where teammate Yellowjacket woke Masaryk and cured him of his debilitating disease. However, the process had the result of driving Masaryk insane, and a disorientated Unicorn inadvertently activates the hidden robot Arsenal. The Unicorn is stunned by the robot — which Iron Man drives off — and then placed in stasis pending a cure for his mental illness.

Months later, Masaryk is freed when a fire broke out at Stark Enterprises. He resumed the identity of the Unicorn and found and attacked Iron Man once again. He found himself on the losing end again, but managed to escape.

Characterization: Unicorn still has a love for his home country, but otherwise he has basically become a thug for hire.

Friends and Foes: He still bears a great grudge against Iron Man and generally allies himself with however will pay him for supervillain work.
