Complications:
Disabled (Animal)- Fish cannot speak to humans, nor use their fins to easily manipulate objects.

Disabled (Blind)- Tripodfish do not require eyes to hunt, and thus have lost their function.
Weakness (Small Size)- At their natural size, these fish are vulnerable to large creatures- even without good accuracy. Anything of Size Rank -2 or more (human size and up) using a melee attack on these fish effectively strike with Burst Area Damage at their strength rank naturally.

Total: Abilities: -30 / Skills: 16--8 / Advantages: 6 / Powers: 33 / Defenses: 7 (24)

Era: Modern Day
Range: All waters of the Earth.
Stereotypes: Emotionless, blank creatures. Ferocious predators.
Colouring: Any color.
Size: 2-7 feet long (1-10 lbs.)
Encounter Groups: Solitary.
Diet: Small fish, lanternfish.
Tactics: Bursts forth with sudden speed, devouring whole with snapping jaws.

-Lizardfish are a ferocious-looking order of needle-toothed, deep-sea predators- the Deepsea Lizardfish is actually the world's deepest living apex predators, occupying the top of the food chain at the lowest abyssal depths. Lancetfish are little-understood (mostly observed as bycatch), but are preyed upon by Fur Seals & Salmon Sharks. Daggertooths are REALLY skinny and have extended jaws. The bulkier Flagfins look more like generic fish. Like most deepsea fish, Lizardfish are hermaphrodites- they will readily mate when they meet another of their kind, but they can impregnate themselves.

-Lizardfish are potent predators in the abyssal realm, but are way undersized for apex predators on most othe tiers, themselves being easy prey for medium-sized aquatic predators elsewhere- just too thin and narrow to do much damage. As such, they are PL 1 fighters.

-Many Lizardfish are so tiny as to have no real damage rating at all- the Barracudinas (named for their resemblance to the unrelated Barracudas), Hammerjaws (named for their blunt lower jaws) and more fit this size. Telescopefish have tubular eyes, like many deep-sea fish do- this is believed to help them judge distance better at these tremendous depths. The "Bombay Duck" is named for its pungent odor resembling that of mail that came from Bombay, India, and its appearance in many Indian restaurants in the U.K. in the 1800s.

-Tripodfish are strange fish that "stand" in the water using elongated finds as props. Part of the Lizardfish order, they simply eat nearby plankton and tiny animals. The giant fins act as "hands", and will feel for objects- if it senses the object is food, it will be batted into the mouth, which is at the perfect height to capture nearby plankton, shrimp and tiny fish. Living on the seafloor, they have little use for eyes, which have shriveled up and cannot form an image.

-The tiny, singular Salamanderfish is the only creature of the Lepidogalaxiiformes order, living in the acidic waters of Australia's peat flats. 7cm long, it can survive dry seasons by burrowing into the sand, as Lungfish do. This gives them the nickname "Mudminnows".

-The bioluminescent Lanternfish are one of the most common families, believed to account for up to 50-65% of all deep see biomass. Representing 246 species, these are nearly all small creatures evolved to operate at a level where light from the surface cannot reach. This is an adaptation to avoid predation- the Lanternfish spend the light of day in these abyssal depths (yes they're actually given that TOTALLY METAL name) and only rise to the surface following zooplankton by night, feeding then before receding by daybreak. Lanternfish species tend to segregate themselves by depth, avoiding competition between different species. Despite these adaptations, they are easy meals for other animals, making up a huge portion of the diets of Dolphins & Whales (even baleen whales end up scooping them up by the hundreds at times), Tuna, Salmon, Sharks, and even Penguins & smaller fish like Grenadiers.

-Lanternfish have some incredible adaptations, but don't really cost much, having a simple 1-point Environment & Immunity added to a basic fish build.

-Oh look- more Eels! These are from the order Notacanthiformes, which are very tapered, eel-like animals that live at incredible depths. Unusually, many Spiny Eels have a larval form that is LARGER than their adult form- it compresses with age as the body grows more complex. The deep-sea predators are little-understood, but many freshwater examples live in places like Africa. The brightly-colored Fire Eel is a popular aquarium fish. The other family is the Halosaurs- a deep-sea, eel-like group. A few of which are among the most deep-living animals in the world.

-Milkfish are an important food fish in Southeast Asia, looking pretty much like generic fish, but being about 30 lbs. when fully grown. They are the most famous members of the small Gonorynchiformes order- the rest are rather unknown, like the Hingemouth or Beaked Salmon.

-Herring, Sardines and Anchovies are the Clupeiformes order, and among the most important "food fish" groups in the world. Herring are vastly important to European fisheries, and all species in the order are important members of the near-bottom of the food chain, being eaten by damn near everything in the oceans. Most Herring are oceanic fish (though some are freshwater), and nearly all of the dozens of types are of similar size and shape, called "silver darlings" by some.

-Shad are in the Herring order as well, differentiated only by typically spawning in rivers, and for being the only fish that evolved to detect ultrasound. They are pretty well like any other generic fish otherwise, but numerous and important for human consumption.

-The Tetraodontiformes are another large order of fish, but typically quite small. Toadfish (unrelated to other fish called that), or "Toadies", are notorious to fishermen for taking bait off of hooks, as they themselves are quite poisonous to eat, and are thus unwanted as a catch.

-The slow-moving Pufferfish (among the Tetraodontiformes) family contains some of the most poisonous creatures in the world- capable of killing just about anything that eats them. Naturally, humans are so goddamn insane they took this murderous animal and were like "How can we modify the flavor to be slightly less fatal and thus call it a delicacy" because by gum there's a dish called "fugu" in Japan that's just that. There are 193 species of Pufferfish, many of whom create incredibly-ornate artistic designs in the sand to woo mates. Similar animals are the Porcupinefish, many of which are also poisonous and spiky.

-The strange-looking, rhomboid Filefish are usually 24-44 inches long, and eat algae or tiny invertebrates. They are named for their rough, file-like scales (which were said to be used to finish wooden boats around the Pacific Islands). They mostly inhabit shallow waters.

-Boxfish are Tetraodontiformes that can release a mucous into the seawater which negatively affects other fish. They are heavily-armored and quite slow-moving as a result.
