Gens Una Sumus Natando
Premise: Harry Potter never expected to discover that he still had a family outside of Number 4 Privet Drive, but that is exactly what happened when the Dursley’s took him with them on a cruise that allowed Vernon to toss our young hero overboard without a life preserver!
Required Inclusions:
- Lily Evans must actually be the missing Third Princess of Xebel, with her son becoming the Crown Prince of Xebel after her demise due to several different factors.
- Harry must be half-Atlantean, half-Wizard, with all the powers and abilities that each half of his dual heritage would normally bestow upon someone.
- Harry must possess the Xebelian Royal Family’s hydrokinetic abilities, including the power to generate and manipulate Hard-Water Constructs.
- Harry must eventually find his way back to the kingdom of Xebel; however, it will be left up to the author to determine how this is to be accomplished.
- Princess Mera, or her father, must use magic in order to determine that Harry is the rightful heir to the Throne of Xebel once he arrives in the watery kingdom.
- Harry must be absent when Mera first encounters Aquaman, which is plausible considering he will be the Heir to an entirely different kingdom from the one that Arthur is associated with.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry should seek out the hand of someone who can serve as his Queen Consort when he eventually ascends to the Throne of Xebel, but he should wait till he is at least fourteen.
- Harry should secure the use of a hereditary trident, but it should be unique and not a direct copy of the Tridents of Atlan and Atlanna.
- Mera should forget to tell Arthur about the fact that she’s splitting her time between Atlantis and Xebel so that she can help in educating her nephew in a variety of subjects.
Optional Inclusions:
- Harry’s future queen could be none other than the young lady known as Dolphin.
- Harry could have a Dunkleosteus as his familiar, which obviously means that the creature somehow managed to survive into the modern era.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry being romantically interested in men.
- Harry the Malevolent Emo Doormat.

- Destiny: It is Harry's destiny to be the one who vanquishes the dark wizard that styles himself as "Lord Voldemort."
- Honor: Harry will always keep his word once he has given it to someone, strives to uphold the common good, and is never underhanded in his dealings.
- Motivation: Protector: Harry is highly motivated to use his powers to protect others. He willingly puts himself at risk to defend innocents and those he cares about.

New Horizons Brainstorm & Notes

New Horizons
Premise: After realizing that he couldn’t find what he was looking for in Wizarding Britain, Harry Potter leaves in search of a place where he can expand his knowledge of magic while also putting his “Saving People Thing” to good use. In doing so, he discovers an out of the way monastery known as Kamar-Taj.
Required Inclusions:
- Harry must follow the ideals of the Ancient One when it comes to dealing with his adversaries, which will allow him to use lethal force against particularly malevolent foes.
- Harry must leave Great Britain and travel to Kamar-Taj at some point after Voldemort’s final defeat. Furthermore, his relationship with Ginny must end on amicable terms.
- Harry must be trained by the Sorcerer Supreme and other Masters of the Mystic Arts at around the same point in time as Doctor Stephen Strange, with the two being friendly rivals.
- Harry must initially refuse to take up the title of Sorcerer Supreme, since he has had enough of such responsibilities to last a lifetime. That said, he will still be a Master of the Mystic Arts.
- If Harry returns to Wizarding Society, then his new powers must frighten and amaze the people of his homeland, since he will now be capable of things they can scarcely imagine.
- Harry must be willing to use both Muggle and Magical conveniences in his life, and will also live in the London Sanctum once his training with the Ancient One is complete.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry should be forced to take on the role of Sorcerer Supreme during the five year period between the Snap and when the Avengers reset the timeline.
- Harry should take Wanda Maximoff on as his personal apprentice after realizing that the girl has a vast well of untapped magical potential.
- Furthermore, Wanda should be Harry’s primary romantic interest, though other girls are permissible so long as they have Wanda’s approval.
Optional Inclusions:
- Harry could discover one of the Infinite Stones other than the one inside the Eye of Agamotto.
- Harry could actually be a direct descendant of the Ancient One, since her original homeland seems to have been one of the British Isles.

Survivor Brainstorm & Notes

Survivor
Premise: Not long after being abandoned in Africa, young Harry Potter had the good fortune to run into an equally young storm goddess...
Required Inclusions:
- Harry must either run away from the Dursley family, or else be abandoned by them, while they are all in Africa together. The reason they brought him with them is up to the author.
- Harry must meet and befriend Ororo Munroe either while they are both in Cairo, or after they arrive in the Serengeti independently of one another.
- Ororo must be Harry’s primary romantic partner, with any additional girls being required to get her blessing before they join in on the romantic activities.
- Harry must possess the mutant power of Geokinesis, meaning that he has the ability to control natural (such as sand & rocks) or semi-natural (such as asphalt & glass) mineral items.
- The inhabitants of the Serengeti must come to view Harry as something akin to the Egyptian god known as Geb, while also viewing Ororo as being akin to Geb’s second consort, Tefnut.
- Harry must have a twin brother or sister who has been proclaimed as the Child Who Lived, even though it was actually Harry who was responsible for the temporary defeat of Voldemort.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry and Ororo should both be capable of utilizing magic, even if they are both rather reluctant to hone their craft in a classroom setting.
- At least three chapters should be devoted to the depiction of Harry and Ororo’s life in Africa before the author even thinks about moving the story to New York or Great Britain.
- Harry and Ororo should invest the time and effort into creating Occlumency Palaces, since this would allow Ororo to express the full range of emotions.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry could develop a Secondary Mutation which gives him limited access to Ferrokinesis.

The Shazam Family Brainstorm & Notes

The Shazam Family
Premise: Jebediah of Canaan had finally found a worthy successor after centuries of looking. But in a twist of fate, said successor came with his own mother. In the end, it was a good thing. It had been a long time since there was a woman in Jebediah’s home and his successor was still a tad bit young…
Required Inclusions:
- Jebediah of Canaan, the Wizard Shazam, had been looking for a worthy successor to his legacy for centuries.
- Over the years, there must have been a few worthy candidates, but Jebediah was looking for something… more. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
- Fast forward to that fateful Halloween, The Wizard found a worthy successor, but due to his haste, he grabbed both the toddler and his mother.
- Voldemort was still disembodied due to his Killing Curse rebounding off of Jebediah’s magic.
- Since Jebediah accidentally cheated Death in saving Lily, she won’t be able to leave the Wizard’s Lair unless she can magically alter her entire identity.
- Eventually, Jebediah will come to see the benefits of having Lily around, even if he has to change a few of his ingrained bad habits.
- Jebediah must eventually step down from his position as the Wizard Shazam and pass the mantle on to Lily, and enjoy his new retirement as a simple advisor and grandfather figure.
- Both Jeb and Lily must encourage Harry to do his best in his schooling, both in the mundane and magical worlds.
- Lily will not empower her son as the new Captain Marvel until he is forcefully roped in the Triwizard Tournament, at the absolute earliest.
- While Harry’s attendance at Hogwarts is optional, he must have mastered the Doors trick and use it to go home every night over the protests of the adults in charge of his school of choice.
- The main romantic pairings in this scenario will be left to the author’s choice, even if Daphne Greengrass and/or a young Heroine are recommended.
- On top of having to deal with Tom Riddle’s creepy obsession with him, Harry will eventually gain his own Rogue gallery when he enters the Superhero Community.
Preferred Inclusions:
- A complete and magical change of identity should be similar to an assisted suicide, burying almost everything from the former identity. It is not a process to take lightly.
- If Harry doesn’t attend a magical school until the Triwizard tournament, then Lily should hire Remus as a part-time tutor to ease the workload of Jebediah and herself.
- Pamela Isley (aka Poison Ivy) should be a close relative to Lily and Harry on the Evans side of the Potter family tree.
- Lily should hire a team of Solicitors to deal with the «Boy-Who-Lived» hysteria and illegal paraphernalia that appeared within Magical Britain after Voldemort’s defeat.
- Lily should be very cross with Sirius Black, even while aiding him in staying out of Azkaban, since it was his “genius” plan to switch Secret Keepers that got her husband killed.
- Since Lily is still alive, Headmaster Dumbledore shouldn’t have been given the go ahead to deal with the Potter Estate and Harry’s new lodgings.
Optional Inclusions:
- Death of the Endless could have recently chosen to pursue “cheaters” in a similar manner to the events from the Final Destination movies.
- Lily could offer an olive branch to the Black Adam clan in the hope that she can foster peace, or at least a ceasefire between their two clans.
- Lily could have been unknowingly pregnant with a second child when she, along with Harry, was grabbed by Jebediah’s magic.

Family Affairs Brainstorm & Notes

Family Affairs
Premise: Rather than being left to the horrors that is an upbringing with the Dursley family, Harry Potter is rescued and raised by the beautiful and mysterious Bellatrix Black (formerly Lestrange).
Required Inclusions:
- Bellatrix Lestrange must either evade capture as a Death Eater, or else she was never a Death Eater to begin with, and was instead simply an unwilling accomplice in her husband’s activities.
- Furthermore, Bellatrix must gain legal custody of her distant cousin, Harry Potter, which she will use to, among other things, keep him out of the hands of Petunia Dursley.
- Harry and Draco Malfoy must be close enough to one another that they consider themselves to be brothers in all ways that truly matter.
- Harry and Draco must also take after their respective parents, with Draco being far more canny in terms of politics, while Harry will eventually be a far more competent duelist.
- Harry must learn, and be talented, in the use of Jinxes, Hexes and Curses, although he need not be so talented as to make free and liberal use of the Unforgivable Curses.
- Sirius and Bellatrix must come to terms with one another so that they get along only for Harry’s sake, but on most other subjects they are opposed to one another.
- Sirius must be declared innocent at some point during the course of this story. How this is accomplished will be left up to the author’s interpretation.
- Bellatrix must yell at Albus Dumbledore at least once in regards to Harry’s safety during his time as a student at Hogwarts.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry should react in a particularly negative fashion whenever he hears people using the word “Mudblood”, even if only as a way to respect his birth mother.
- Severus Snape should still dislike Harry, even if he will tolerate the boy due to his status as the Head of Slytherin House, which is where Harry will be sorted in this scenario.
- Bellatrix should begin teaching Harry Occlumency and basic Jinxes and Hexes before he begins attending Hogwarts so that he won’t be left defenseless once he gets to the school.
- Harry’s primary romantic interest should be Daphne Greengrass, with Draco’s being either Pansy Parkinson or Daphne’s younger sister, Astoria. Additional girls will be acceptable.
Optional Inclusions:
- Bella’s wakeup call to the horrors of the Dark Lord could have been when her baby cousin Regulus disappeared, since they were incredibly close to one another.
- Harry could acquire two wands, one from Ollivanders that is registered with the Ministry, and a second unregistered wand that he uses primarily for the Dark Arts.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry and Draco being romantically interested in men.
- Voldemort winning the 2nd Wizarding Blood War.
- Bellatrix rejoining the Dark Lord’s followers.

Okay, I think I have an interesting idea for the next concept. It'll be a Potterverse / X-Men crossover where Harry is a long-lost member of Jean's family, but where he isn't actually someone who would need her to look out for him. Should be interesting.

Roots Brainstorm & Notes

Roots
Premise: Albus Dumbledore always said that Harry had no other family aside from the Dursley’s, but what if he had been wrong? What if Harry had a family waiting for him all the way over in the colonies, and what if that family included a very special redheaded mutant with a destiny that was full of cosmic fire?
Required Inclusions:
- Harry must begin to look into his family tree at some point after the Battle of Hogwarts and discover that he still has living family members aside from the Dursley’s and seek them out.
- This will, in turn, lead to his initial encounters with the X-Men, and introduce him to the young lady who is his second cousin, Jean Grey.
- While Harry will be related to Jean, he won’t actually be a mutant, and will lack any of the powers that are typical to members of Jean’s family, unless they can be replicated with magic.
- On the flip side, as the Master of Death, Harry will be one of the few people in the world who can call upon Mistress Death herself for Entreaty spells, instead of going through intermediaries.
- Harry must avoid the ill fate that befalls the fair majority of Jean’s family during the aftermath of the Phoenix Entity’s attack on the Shi’ar Empire.
- Even though Harry is not a mutant, the organizations that track mutant power levels must recognize him as being at least an Alpha Level Threat due to the strength of his magic.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry’s primary romantic interest should be Emma Frost, who will be around the same age as Fleur Delacour in this scenario, while Jean will be closer to Astoria’s age.
- Harry should be completely immune to Jean’s telepathic abilities, even while still having to work on developing his Occlumency in order to keep out other telepaths.
- Harry’s magic should give him a distinctive advantage when engaging in battle with the Phoenix Force, since it is known that the Phoenix is weak against magical abilities.
Optional Inclusions:
- Harry could act as a teasing older brother for Jean and encourage her relationship with Scott.
- Wanda Maximoff could be yet another girl who falls for Harry’s charms, and she could also be responsible for teaching him how to use the form of magic known as Sorcery.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry being romantically interested in men.
- Harry the Malevolent Emo Doormat.
