Moonlight and Nightbird

Moonlight blows through the cheap wooden door like its nothing. There is a similar device in this room pointed at the girls' room. The crystal in this one is also black.

There are also 2 more demons in this room. They stop destroying the furniture and turn to Moonlight.

The IT person with you backs away
"Really, CJ? You're resorting to spider-bots like a two-bit jobber villain?" Amethyst murmurs, nodding at the IT staff to stay back.

The casual clothes and sneakers she wears over her battlesuit teleport out with a flash. Then her skintight suit expands to its full volume with a mechanical hum, shunting in mass from hyperspace as weapons, shield emitters and hyperdrive vanes fully deploy. The entire process takes less than a second.

Her suit goggles materialize right over her eyes, and six targeting reticules appear over the spider-bots. A moment later, six of attack drones warp in from hyperspace and open up with blaster cannons.

GELERT

As Gelert speaks to the crowd, Leland steps up.

"Like he said, the issue is well at hand. Let's all quietly exit so we don't get in their way."

Due to Gelert and Leland's efforts, the crowd begins quietly and calmly moving to the exit.

"I'll make sure everyone gets out safely. Take care of what you need to do."

Gelert flies off to Pier 4 and quickly finds the site of the battle. It looks like a bomb went off. Among the debris, there are several figures on the ground. two seven-foot tall, charred humanoids - but definitely not human are strewn among the debris. There is also a black skeleton dressed in a leather jacket, pants, and boots. The clothes look like the ones wore by Ghost Strider, whom you encountered when you were testing Deep Six a while back.

But at center stage is a giant 8-foot-tall red skinned monstrous figure with flaming aura. At his feet is the prone and unconscious form of Philip. The demon is holding a giant sword that he is about to plunge into the helpless wizard.

Gelert would have to figure out what the heck happened here later, right now he had a friend that needed saving.

"NO! No Bad Demon! No Impaling my friends allowed!" Gelert barks before blasting the sword wielding demon.

Amethyst

The drones easily take out the robotic spiders. Judging by their movements, they were just moving randomly as opposed to being remotely controlled or acting on programmed instructions. They would also have no reason for any kind of remote interface.

A lesser programmer might think they were hack proof, but the reality is there really isn't anything for them to hack.

The path to the next control servers is clear.

Gelert

The demon swats off Gelert's lasers.

"HAHAHAHAHA! I told Ghost Strider we needed to prepare for his teammates. Shame he is dead."

He unfurls a whip in his opposite hand that immediately ignites and he whips it in Gelert's direction. It burns as it wraps around the flying canine and threatens to bind him.

Realising that these demons were a lot tougher than the men they had been, Imogen took a moment to assess a weak spot then landed a blow that was all timing.

Will continue the PA +/-2 on the first Demon.

Nightbird and Moonlight

Nightbird lands a serious blow against the demon, but it is the big, tough, and dumb sort. While the blow would drop most opponents, the demon lets out a grunt and is briefly winded.

So unharmed but restrained (Hindered/Vulnerable) I think.

The whip wraps around Gelert, ensnaring him but failing to inflict any damage past his shields.

Gelert yips "This is not comfortable, and you are still waving a sword way too close to my friend!"

Gelert fires a wide area blast, intentionally shaping it to avoid Philip while bombarding the demon.

Gelert

Your blast clips the demon but only causes a grunt in pain.

He then pulls on the whip causing it to constrict and burn into Gelert's shields.

Amethyst takes a moment to ensure all power signals are dead before moving on. She's very used to fighting these kinds of drones by now -- known in the hacker community as zombie bots, for the apparent mindlessness that their rigid following of preprogrammed instructions gives them. Everyone knows better than to send something with an actual remote link against a super-programmer. While some zombies can be made relatively adaptible, and others compensate by packing massive firepower, these particular ones are pretty unimpressive.

Unfortunately, this probably also means the bots are just meant to delay her from the actual day-saving. She walks on, crunching the wreckage of the destroyed bots under her armored boots, blaster pistols in hand, and behind her, her attack drones fly back and return to hyperspace one by one.

OOC

Amethyst will approach the control servers and attempt to restore control of them.

Amethyst

Michelle is able to quickly restore control of the systems, only to realize there is hidden malware on the system.

A quick double-check at the end - something only about 0.4% of the best computer experts would even do - reveals the malware.

It takes her a bit of extra time to root out all of the hidden malware and clear the system, so it won't be reinfected quickly at a later date.
Two more systems to clear.

"Well aren't you a tricky one," Amethyst murmurs, looking at the readouts on the holographic screens floating around her, a cloud of light and data. As a law-abiding citizen, she will of course never go around attacking private computer systems for extrajudicial payback. But if somehow she were to come across embarrassing videos of CJ from when he was 7 years old she is absolutely posting them all over the internet just to give this ass a taste of what it's like to have people mess with your data.

With a tap on the screen before her, she deletes the encrypted partitions infected with malware, and patches the security hole so CJ can't get in again. Then she nods at the IT staff behind her to indicate this one's fixed as the holographic screens about her fade.

Amethyst unplugs the USB cable from her suit gauntlet and it reels in like a fishing line, before hurrying to the next server. Time mattered, in these things, and she has now been delayed twice.

OOC
Amethyst will proceed to the 2nd server and attempt to restore that one as well.

Moonlight and Nightbird

The air blast strikes the demon causing it to grunt loudly.

The four demons madly rush at the two heroines. Nightbird is able to avoid the attacks, but one of them hits Moonlight with a clubbing blow.

Amethyst

Michelle moves to the next control computer. The entire computer as well as all of the area around it seems to be covered in a thin oil.

"Be careful, Michelle," Amy says. "Those are nanobots. If you try to connect to the server, they may infect the suit."

The nanobots are covering everything. Anything you do to them could affect the servers as well.
