Nightbird

Sharing with Aranel what she could recall of mentalists that might be behind the girl gang, Imogen then nodded in agreement.

"Okay we stick together and I know a spot downtown where we may spot one of these gang members."

Let me know if you want another roll.

Moonlight and Nightbird
Nightbird make a Streetwise check to find a good location.
Then both of you make Perception and Stealth checks.

The Streetwise check determines the DC of the other two checks.

"This is the perfect spot, just about everyone passes through here." Imogen continues as she leads Ananel into the back streets of Phoenix City.

Well one extreme to the other but will save my HP for the moment.

Aranel follows Nightbird while keeping her senses open, out of practice in the art of stealth, and hoping she doesn't ruin the whole mission.

Moonlight and Nightbird

Moonlight and Nighbird find a nice easy place to hide so there's little chance they can be seen. Unfortunately, it seems they may be too out of the way, as it seems like hours pass with no contact from a likely member of the girl's gang.

Finally, they see a pair of teens running a con on Franky, leader of the local street gang. Imogen has been able to use him for info. While Franky is being distracted by one girl, the other is moving in to take his bike.

If Franky loses his bike, his gang will surely call into question his right to lead. There will probably be bloodshed, though it's unlikely innocent blood will be lost - that isn't guaranteed.

If you save him in some way, even subtly, you risk exposing yourselves. If they see that supers are in the area and possibly tracking them, it will be much harder to find any others to track back to the lair.
The complication is a result of your poor Perception and Stealth checks. No HP award for it.

"Franky, you're better than that" Imogen tried not to sigh at the sight unfolding in front of them of Franky falling for one of the most obvious cons out there, she was very tempted to let the con go its course but the aftermath would be messy as Franky tried to regain his streetcred and innocents would always end up caught in the middle.

Putting a finger on her lips to indicate that Aranel should keep quiet, Imogen found a stone nearby and then with a flick of her wrist sent it behind the rear of the girl trying to swipe the bike, it should make just enough noise to get Franky to stop staring down that top and notice what the other girl was doing.

Moonlight and Nightbird

Everyone kind of freezes at the sound of the rock and look around. Franky sees the girl moving toward his bike.

He yells at her, and the girl near him groins him and both girls run off in different directions.
You need to make Perception checks and Stealth checks to follow them unnoticed.
If you fail a Perception check twice, you lose them.

If you move on the ground, you need to make your Stealth checks at -5 or move at half speed. At half speed, you will lose them in 2 rounds. You can make a DC15 Athletics check to double your speed for 1 round, so you can keep up for that round without taking the penalty.

Moonlight can fly after them and Nightbird can use her bike, but neither are Subtle, so it will also penalize your Stealth, but also your Perception (-5 to both) as you won't be able to follow them exactly and you will lose sight at times.

Nightbird can make a Streetwise check that will act as a Team check to her Perception check. Basically, her knowledge of the area letting her make better guesses about the path her target is going.

This may sound rough, but their Perception checks are pretty weak, and the DC of your base Perception check is also pretty low.

Imogen was impressed with the girl's technique kneeing Franky but annoyed when they both ran in opposite directions, not unexpected but still annoying. Quickly giving Ananel a heads-up where she expected one of the girls was heading on what she recalled of the area, Imogen then headed out after the other girl, giving a brief update over the commlink on her progress and trusting her skill at keeping in the shadows to remain unseen.

It will take Nightbird one round to explain to Moonlight where she thinks the girl is going. Moonlight can make a similar roll for herself, since she has Eidetic Memory.

Amethyst
HP: 1, Condition: normal

Gelert's approach was the gentle one, as usual. However, Amethyst is not sure she can maintain her patience that well. If they did get in touch with Philip again, perhaps it'd be best to let the corgi speak with him first because she she had a scolding in mind for him.

"Worse? How so?" Amethyst asks Leland, just as the hospital administrator gestures to them.

"Let's talk again later," she says. Then, nodding at Gelert, "Shall we go?"

Amethyst is first. As she walks on stage, it feels as if she has been here dozens, perhaps hundreds of times before. Standing before a crowd, ready to dispel their skepticism or fan their excitement, wow them with some revolutionary new technology.

"Good day," she says, taking the mic. "This month, there've been plenty of events around Silicon Valley, announcing devices with slightly better cameras, slightly faster processors and slightly more battery life. This is what passes for American innovation in the 21st century. I'm here to show you something very different: a revolution for our schools."

The lights dim as the presentation begins, and bright, colorful images fill the screen on the stage behind her as she begins to speak. This all reminds Amethyst how much she despises the corporate side of her work and is most at home as an engineer. For a few minutes, it is a pleasure to geek out about the genetic algorithms that adapt to the student's learning progress, the use of face-recognition software to identify children's nonverbal responses such as impatience or frustration, and the intelligent agent tutors that guide children verbally, only requiring human teachers in a supervisory role. Best of all, unlike her more advanced AI-powered systems, this one runs on mundane PCs, rather than only on a quantum computer in hyperspace.

"That's what the future of education looks like," Amethyst says, clicking off the presenter. "And now, I give you Gelert, representing Bernard Clairvaux medical Center."

Aranel tries to search her memory of the city maps she has poured over and the trips around the city she has taken with her friends in the past to figure out which direction one of the girls was heading. Taking to the air, she tried to keep the girl in sight while avoiding being noticed at the same time.

Moonlight and Nightbird

The girls move fairly non-stop through the backstreets and get to a public area. They both check on their phones and text someone. Then they quickly move through the crowd, and both end up at the same seedy hotel room where they just seem to be waiting.

"So it is the waiting game now." Imogen thought seeing the girls set themselves in a seedy hotel. Keeping her eyes alert Imogen set in to wait for what may happen next.

Seeing Anabel arrive from the air, Imogen waved to her from her possy "Lets keep watch so we are covering the whole hotel to see what happens and if nothing changes after say 30 minutes or an hour then we can go in. What do you think?"
