The three of you settle in for the wait. Diego blending into shadow. Aiden seated in the corner of the theater's lobby. John, across the street ... standing out in his attire. IT doesn't take long for the Altima to loose it's cover in the for the of the SUV that John had parked beside. About ten minute pass before someone comes out of the clothing store that John parked at. They check out the car, look inside, then pull a smartphone out and point it at the front of the car before making a phone call on their way back into the store. Less than a minute later Diego and John see a police patrol car driving into the area.

In the lobby Aiden keeps getting dirty looks from the guard standing watch over the lobby while the man at the desk largely ignores the teenager.

Damn. When John sees the cops driving into the area, he begins walking back to the car.
OOC: First, is it even possible for John to make it to the car and pull out before the cops reach the vehicle. If not, then it's not worth trying. But if so, perhaps he can remove the vehicle before they have a chance to inspect it.
"The cars been spotted by a civilian." John says over the commlink. "Let me see if I can get it out of here."
OOC: Here's John's Athletics roll to dash back to the car: Athletics Roll: 1d20+8 25. So, a total of 23 if the Impairment is factored in. Here's John's Driving skill check: Driving Roll: 1d20 1. Haha! A grand total of 1. Well, I'll have to spend a HP to reroll that. Here's the 2nd roll: Reroll of Driving Roll: 1d20 15. So, a total of 13 if the Impairment is factored in. I reduced John's HP total for both the reroll and scene edit.

Aiden just sits in his chair and waits. Everyone was just doing their job; so even though they were pathetic little people, they weren't worth engaging.

As the police cruiser enter the block a fresh wave of traffic floods the street. John seizes upon this opportunity and hustles across the street, running right through traffic. He sprints through the clothing store's parkinglot and rapidly unlocks the Altima. The officer in the cruiser steers through the traffic and into the parkinglot just as John is starting up the Altima. The cruiser accelerates as he begins to pull out of the parking space and moves to try to cut him off ...

Reforming in the shadows, Diego relays to John instructions over the comms. "Get out of here and lose the car if you can. Our supplies in there, so if they are captured we will at an even more severe disadvantage. I will create a momentary distraction on a street.", says Diegos over comms. He hated to leave Aiden, but given the situation John being captured was not ideal. He was already shaken and will nearly broken. Incarceration wouldn't do. Diego conveyed a location they had passed not too far from the area over text before taking off into the shadows.

Bouncing around out of sight, Diego made for the previously mentioned street. If John could make it there, Diego had the quick plan all lined up. Morph into a blind man complete with a stick and start crossing the road with a confused look. Maybe distract the pursuing cop long enough for John to escape.

As the police cruiser moves to cut John off, the desperate soldier veers the car as he presses the accelerator. With cops blocking the way out, John plows the Altima through a thin row of landscaped bushes lining the lot and out into the adjacent street.
OOC: Ok, there's the first roll: Driving Roll #1: 1d20 16. So, a total of 14 once the Impairment is factored.
Hearing the Dark Ascendant's instructions, John starts the car on a curcuitous route around the block to the designated location.

John peels out of the parking lot, crashes through brush, and send the Altima bouncing into the street where one coming cars swerve and slash on their brakes to avoid crashing into him and one another. Horns are honking. People letting. The police cruiser's siren woop-woop into action as, behind him, the black and white vehicle is in hot pursuit. The cruiser begins to move up along side John, angling for an advantage to sieze.

Circling the block, creating a scene of chaos in his wake, John makes his way around towards the front of the theater where Diego has gotten into position to spring his diversion.

John, give me another roll and some driving flavor. You need to beat them in this check, otherwise they'll win the chase scenario.
Inside the theater's lobby Aiden hears muffled sounds of the havoc taking place outside as John leads the police in a circle. The man at the front desk answers a call on the land line. After pulling the phone back down he snaps his fingers a couple times in Aiden's direction.

"You, boy, come with me."

Without waiting for a response the man steps out from behind the desk and begins walking down a hallway off the side of the lobby, which hooks further into the structure. Likely skirting the theater floor.

Aiden looks briefly toward the door, then gets up and heads after the man. He doesn't know what's going on outside and has no real way to find out. All he can really do is focus on his task and let the rest take care of itself.

He stays quiet as he follows the man, not wanting to risk raising extra suspicions. "Better to remain silent..." and all that jazz.

Diego let John do the driving, which was all to reminiscent of another ill fated mission, to get into position. Jumping from a building into a helicopter wasn't an optimal plan here. It required a more subtle touch, which Diego much preferred. Hopefully, John could get away and lay low while Diego got back to Aiden if this worked.

Stumbling from an alley way now morphed into a middle aged Russian male with a brown sports coat, sun glasses despite it being night time, black pants, and a buttoned down shirt. In his hand is a long white stick with red reflective tape on it and a rubber bit at the end. As the cop car starts coming up along John, Diego seizes the moment.

Pretending to trip on something such as the end of the street or other object which might be on the side walk close to the street, Diego tumbles into the path of the cop car. He lets out a few choice curse words he once heard a Russian contact of his use as he fumbles about to get up.
Deception 17. Not great, but might help to sell the wounded blind middle aged russian.

John curses the poor acceleration of the Altima as he tries to gain some space ahead of the squad car. As he comes up on the next right turn -which coincidently would lead back towards the theatre - the burly soldiers drives like he's simply going to speed by the turn. At the last moment, he swerves right, fishtailing slightly as he takes the right turn and heads towards the destination The Dark Ascendant instructed.

Speaking over the intercom, John looks up ahead in an effort to spot his team-leader. "I'm on the street headed back to the theatre, you should be able to see me soon."

Diego steps out into the street at just the wrong ... or right ... time. He walks his way 'blindly' right into the path of the oncoming police cruiser. The car begins to swerve. Breaks squeal. There is a split second where they might just avoid impacting with Diego, but he makes sure they hit him.

John hears a thump and the squeal of breaks. In his rearview mirror he sees the police cruiser hit someone. There is a limp body on the ground. The cruiser pulls over. An officer opens the driver-side door and rushes over to the body ... A turn later and John has lost the police. At least this one vehicle. There are going to be others on if he doesn't think of something fast ...

Inside the theater Aiden is escorted to the back of the building. There the light is dimmer. People are moving about in costume or carrying pieces of scenery and equipment for the final portions of the play. In the distance he can hear music. Drums. Stringed instruments. Flutes. But he isn't directed there. Instead he is lead to a dressing room with the name 'Anna Semenov' labeled towards the top of the door. The man escorting him knocks at the door. A feminine voice bids you enter. The man steps aside and motions for Aiden to go ahead.

When Aiden enters the dressing room he finds a young woman with long red hair seated in front of a mirror. Peering into it see looks at Aiden as he enters behind her and to the left. The red head has black makeup around her eyes. A symbol pained on her forehead, and thick black lines are draw from her eyelids down onto her cheeks. Her clothes have a tribal aesthetic, with furs and dull metal jewelry hanging from around her neck. Her clothes are a white dress and a wolf pelt shawl over her shoulders. Feathers, too, are woven into her long hair.

Aiden tries to stay calm as he enters the room. Still way out of his element, he doesn't know how people enjoy doing this. Nothing at all like flying through the air.

His brain starts doing mental math on whether or not to close the door. If the man is hanging back listening, it would cause him to be suspicious. The challenge/response would seem odd but probably not so much as to cause a reaction. But he needs to talk to her about her cover and about the plan and that won't work with eavesdroppers. But if she asks him to close the door, it won't be suspicious... or at least as suspicious.

Fortunately, he runs through the scenarios quickly and doesn't take long. He stays near the door, even looking at it as he says, "I'm here to talk to you about some... tulips."

Getting hit with a car wasn't really anything to Diego, but he had to play it up as it was and get out of there asap. Aiden was out of sight of anyone. if they missed grabbing the target tonight this was all a waste of time. Of course, after getting hit by a car, there was some expectations of are you ok, let me call it in, etc. Diego didn't have time for too much of that. Too little of that and other complications arose. Too much and well the mission was over. It was in Johns hands now to not mess up the escape.

Feigning struggling a bit, but avoiding showing signs of serious injury, Diego gets back on his feet and turns his head towards the door opening as if searching for that sound. "What is this, New York? Police sirens blaring and now some crazy driver hits me. I thought Las Vegas was better than this.", gripes Diego in a New York Russian accent. He'd heard enough in his time as a translator for the U.N delegations and staff. Aside from the Yiddish ones it always came across as strong.

"Lady luck is calling for me tonight and my bladder doesn't hold it's vodka like it used to. Whoever you are, I'm fine. Nothing some vodka and machines won't cure.", says Diego mumbling as if in only a small amount of pain. He feels around with the walking stick trying to head back the way he came. Under his "clothes", he made sure to create a few marks. Nothing to indicate a cracked rib or anything, but still something to indicate he got hit by a car.

Anna large green eyes shift to the formally dressed man who remained stationary at the door behind Aiden.

"Thank you Randal."

The words were a polite dismissal. Randal offered a subtle nod, then looked dubiously at Aiden one last time before withdrawing. Leaving Aiden to close the door on his own. There was a pause before the red head looked back to Aiden, her tone light and casual.

"We can forgo the formalities. I know who you are as I am sure you know who I am."

In the background sirens wailed. They were close as well. Anna continued to talk though, a hint of amusement in her subtly accented voice.

"You are on the news. You and your loud friends. This is them?"

Lifting one hand covered in tribal tattooing, likely painted on, she pointed upwards. As if to indicate the intangible sound of the sirens.


Outside Diego is confronted by a police officer, not seeking to apprehend him, but rather smother him in unwanted and unnecessary aid. Burnette woman approached with one hand extended, palm facing Diego.

"Sir, don't get up. You've just been hit by a car. Sir, you shouldn't move! I'm going to guide you somewhere to sit down. Please come with me."

he woman speaks in short assertive sentences. Her hand reaches out to grasp hold of Diego. Holds him firmly. Soon the other hand follows, and she maneuvers to guide him over to the sidewalk and sit him down.

John looks through his rear-view mirror to see the "old man" hit by the squad car, bringing the pursuit temporarily to an end. Buying time for John to make his escape, the soldier begins to look for any poorly lit and suitable locations to ditch the car. John speaks into the commlink as he drives away. "I'm gonna ditch this car. It's too conspicuous now. I'll try to get us another vehicle if I can."
OOC: Ok, John can't hold onto this vehicle any longer. Luckily it's night time. As he drives away from the "accident" he'll look for any kind of parking lot, alley, parking deck or hidden location that stands out. He doesn't want to take any longer than 5 minutes to find something or he runs the risk of meeting the cops again. Also, what kind of gear/supplies are in the Altima? Are they in the trunk?
