From behind Aiden there is an intense grinding noise. Vibration forces to hold the chain taut. Heat builds up and he can feel sparks hiding his hands. Small pinpoints of burning pain that go away a second later only for another series of sparks to strike. Then the pressure and vibration is gone. The chain link snaps and Aiden's limbs regain their mobility. Though he still has a set of metal bands around his wrists.

A circular mouth ringed in row upon row of teeth opens in the limb. It is from this opening that Diego's voice speaks to Iona even though the bulk of his mass remains under the Impala.

Shortly after his directions are given gunfire comes from the warehouse again. Tracer rounds light up the intervening distance , dotting the air even as bullets bite into the ground and cars surrounding Iona. But none touch her.

The Warehouse Sqaud attacks and misses Iona.

Iona is up.

Aiden Starr
HP: 2, Condition: Fatigued

Aiden grits through the sparks and heat as Diego frees him from the cuffs.

Seeing the mouth form was odd, but his weird sh*t meter was already on overload, so it didn't phase him much.

"Thanks. There are no door handles in here. If you could open the door, I will make sure we can use this vehicle for our exit. I think you would make a fine officer escorting some civilian away from the scene before all the craziness started."

CivilianS, he thought. Well, if Diego really wants them at this point.

Diego gives her instructions; and Iona does not question them.

As bullets strike cars and earth all about her, the slightly-scarred cyborg accelerates on a path just above the ground again. This time, she loops around to the side of the warehouse where the loading-bays are located. With a white-hot spark of electricity, she blasts a hole through the relatively thin, scrolling-doors. Once inside the building, the beautiful construct continues to deal out death to any soldiers she can find.
OOC: Sorry if I took some liberties with the post. If something happens on the way to attack the warehouse group, I can edit my post. I assumed that the warehouse has some kind of loading-area doors on either the side or rear of the building. I further assumed that they were closed and locked. If any were open, then I can edit my post for that fact too. Iona is not too concerned about collateral damage at this point and if she sets the interior of the warehouse on fire, then so much the better. It will only serve to "smoke out" the hidden soldiers that could prove time-consuming to find. Consequently, she will use her AoE (or single-target) attack when appropriate, but her objective is to find bunches of troops, if possible, so the AoE attack is preferable.
Even with the combat swirling around her, her keen mind is already thinking about the next step after the butchery. We extract ourselves quickly and quietly. It is likely that military aircraft are on the way. And as soon as possible we must take counsel to assess whether our mission can be salvaged in any meaningful way.

Iona flies over to the warehouse amidst a barrage of gunfire. Coming around to one of the sides she leaves the zone of fire, apparently her attackers didn't have a good angle on her anymore. Hoving in place he exendins a hand and projects of stream of electricity ahead of her, into the wall. The concrete wall blasts inwards, creating an Iona sized hole ... and continues on to create a hole in the far wall as well.

Inside the warehouse is poorly lit. Light spills in from windows and nothing more. Leaving the central portions less visible ... to human eyes at least. Iona sees clearly. There are some scattered crates. A few broken open. Seems the place was mostly used for storage. There is a partial second floor. The center of the warehouse remains open, but for about twenty feet from each wall there is flooring ringing the warehouse ten feet up. On this upper level are some rooms facing the road. That most likely where the enemy is hiding.

OOC wrote:Iona makes her entry, no problem.

New round.

Diego's turn. John and Aiden may act at any point.

This whole mission would be so much simpler without Iona and John. Possibly even Aiden, although he did provide some utility in transportation. Leaving them though would introduce new complications. It was his responsibility to make sure they didn't fall into Strongholds hands for interrogation or experimentation at this point. Grab our supplies and make it to the other side of the barricade., orders Diegos under the car to John.

Having his body elongated had it's perks. He could do two things at once at a distance with ease. His stretched out tentacle moves from inside the vehicle to the door handle and pulls it in hopes it isn't locked. Aiden knew machines, as far as Diego could tell, so maybe he could get one of the cop cars going even without keys.

Iona cannot see what is going on up stairs, so no description. The squad inside the warehouse ... does something. It is back to Iona.

John and Aiden are still free to act at any time.

Without pause, the determined cyborg flies through burned hole in the concrete wall. Immediately she turns back to face the road and floats towards the rooms along that particular wall. Her eyes and ears are open for signs of conversations or motion as she tries to identify where the soldiers are massed.
OOC: if there are any rooms that have open doors and personnel visible inside, then Iona will fly up close to the door and then send out a pulse of her electrical AoE effect. If doors are closed, then she will pause only for a split second to blast open the doors in order to see (and hear) inside. Rooms without significant amounts of soldiers are bypassed for rooms that are. Only after she has located (and disposed of) the largest concentrations of troops will she bother herself with smaller ones.
It is unfortunate but necessary that these men and women must die. Their deaths may harden the resolve of some to unite and fight against us, but that cannot be avoided now.

After bringing the cuffs around to the front of his body, John schemes to both arm himself and rid himself of the cuffs. When The Dark Ascendent orders him to bring himself and the supplies to the near side of the barricade, John interrupts his train of thought to consider his superior's order.
OOC: Just curious, were the keys left in the Impala? With the cuffs in front of him, could John not start the car and simply pull it up to the barricade? The car is an automatic, right?

In a rush of movement Iona flies up to the second floor. She finds that the doors to all of the rooms are closed. So she approaches the nearest and fires off a bolt of electricity at it, removing the obstruction from her path. Inside she finds two men with rifles ... pointed at the door. A second later people come surging out of the rooms, weapons tracking on Iona. They unload volley after volley at her but bullet bend away in mid-flight, passing by her. Her concentration wavers as a bullet grazes her cheek. In that moment of pain the bullets begin to travel normal paths and ten assault rifles concentrate their firepower on her.

Amidst the barking barrage of bullet pelting her body Iona musters herself and discharges electricity in all direction. Bodies are fried. Walls, floor, and ceiling and blasted into oblivion. In the end, when the dust clears, Iona is left alone, floating at the center of the wreckage.
OOC wrote:Since it will take at least a turn for Diego to get to the warehouse and enact an attack, I went ahead and took two rounds for Iona and the squad there as Supernaturalist has made their strategy clear.

Iona's first round is spent blasting a door down. This triggers the squad's Ready Action and they swarm Iona. Missing in their attack. Their second attack hits Iona. Make a DC 23 Toughness check.

Iona makes her second attack as a AoE and kills the entire squad. Combat is over.

Instead of rushing into combat, you all did some RPing and played to your characters well. All the characters receive 1 HP.

Aiden Starr
HP: 3, Condition: Fatigued

The car door opened for him; Aiden immediately gets out. "Thank you," he says to Diego and immediately gets to work.

He moves to the driver's side door and checks to see if it's left open.
If the car door isn't open, he will use Improvised Tools and routine check on the Technology check to get in the door for a 27.
I assume combat is far enough away that he isn't being stressed. Make a similar check to start the police car if they removed the keys.

Incidentally, in my town it is not procedure to to take the keys, but it is procedure to lock the doors. All the cops have remotes on their person for the doors. This way if another officer needs to move a car, they can.

Aiden grabs some bit thin bit of metal from his surroundings, tweaks them a little, then sets into working at the car door. IT takes his about a minute, but he is taking his time on the task. Getting it right the first time. There is a light thumping-pop from the interior of the patrol car as it unlocks. From there Aiden opens the door and finds keys still in the ignition.

While Aidan gets the vehicle going, Diego shifts into his native form underneath the car and makes sure he stays hidden as best he could until close enough to the cop car. "Rolling" out from under a spot, he appears as one of the cops decked out with a radio and military assault rifle with dirt and blood as if he had hid during the battle. Just in case there was any people watching, Diego played the part of a protector while Aidan prepared the vehicle.

So far, the escape plan was going as going as scheduled. Aidan was getting the vehicle, Iona was occupying the troops, and he had taken care of becoming a cop. John had yet to arrive with the supplies, but if John took too long Diego may need to take care of that as well. They needed to get away and switch out vehicles quickly. The motel was likely no longer safe, but they could scope that out. If it came to it, Diego could get a room under another guise at another motel. Before the abduction, they needed some rest.

So much carnage...and I didn't produce any of it. John looks over the grim work of his two high-powered teammates as he drives the Impala forward and then around the barricade to the other side. It's somewhat awkward as his hands are still cuffed, but for something as simple as driving an automatic, the task isn't that difficult. He brings the car to a stop as close to Aiden and the newly transformed Ascendant as possible.

Whereas ash and the smell of charred flesh mark the areas where Iona attacked the soldiers, a scene of ludicrous gore characterizes the barricade-area where The Dark Ascendant is. In all his years of combat, John had never seen anything like this.

He brings the car to a halt, putting it in "Park". Inhibited slightly by his restrained wrists, he exits the car and walks over to where his teammates have gathered.
OOC: John will look around on the remains of soldiers bodies to see if there are any cuff-keys intact. He may have to look through some nasty piles of human remains to find them, but unless his teammates offer any other quick solutions, he has no choice.

OOC: Here's Iona's Damage Check: Damage check vs. Warehouse Soldiers: 1d20+11 23. So, a total of 23. That barely succeeds. Also, I have added an HP to her just as I have added one to John.
Satisfied that the military personnel within the warehouse are dead, the female cyborg floats through the front of the warehouse windows and levitates herself back down onto the ground when she reaches her teammates. She is pleased to see that no one looks seriously injured. Looking first to Diego, she speaks in her characteristically soft voice. "The soldiers inside of the warehouse have been exterminated. The damage I have received is minor and mostly cosmetic. How do you wish to proceed, Ascendant?"
