OOC: Against the Cult of the Reptile God - D&D 5E - Recruiting Closed
Re: OOC: Against the Cult of the Reptile God - D&D 5E - Recruiting Closed
The dice love Aldan. Not only an amazing roll on his end, but terrible rolls on the other end.
Aldan is in the room and basically invisible due to how dark it is.
Coming down the stairs will require a DC5 Dex check to come down safely. It was much higher, but now that you've spotted it I'm assuming you will be bracing.
As funny as it would be to see one of you luge down the stairs in platemail.

Does Aldan see a gong or bell or some other alarm system the sentries seem like they'd want to ring?
Does Aldan think he could signal the others to come down without blocking the light and tipping off the controlled humans?

I've updated the Roll 20 map.
I will choose not to tell you how long it took me.

To answer your questions:
1) There is no sign of a gong, or a bell, pull rope or even a shield to bang against.
2) Physically going back up the stairwell is going to be pretty risky. They got a fairly good bonus to spot you, and roll on advantage. The dice really liked you coming down.
I can't think of any other means off the top of my head, but you all have access to magic and other fun abilities, so I'm sure you could come up with something sneaky.

And is there a light source down here for these night-blind humans to see with?

Oh, you mean our tank & healer? They might need it.

I had meant the four that are down here already.

There's some crudely built sconces to hold a torch on the east and west wall close to the hallways leading in those directions.
There doesn't appear to be anything readily apparent for how they'd light them, though.

Ah the joys of familiars.
Just to clarify, what spell/ability did Aldan cast for the illusion?

Yup, they fall for a cantrip illusion.
They will stand in a 2 by 2 square by the stairs for a couple moments before moving back to their corners, if you want to take advantage of that grouping

These men seem to be forced to guard all night too? Harsh.

Yeah, somebody should really take up their work conditions with their boss.
By the by, with the illusion in place you should be able to sneak somebody down, though a stealth roll would still need to be made to avoid notice from hearing.
