Complications
- Honor: Naruto will always keep his word once he has given it to someone, strives to uphold the common good, and is never underhanded in his dealings.
- Man From Out of Time: Naruto has somehow found himself trapped in the blank period between when the Kyuubi no Kitsune attacked the Village Hidden in the Leaves and when Uchiha Itachi killed every member of his clan, except for his younger brother. Only things aren't quite the same in this version of reality as Naruto remembers them being back where he came from.
- Motivation: Doing Good: Naruto wishes to use his knowledge of the future in order to make the world a better place, and he isn't all that concerned with preserving the time stream in order to accomplish this goal!
- Relationships: Naruto holds an ambiguous relationship to the local version of Uzumaki Kushina, since in this reality the woman gave birth to a daughter known as Uzumaki Shio. What can be said however, is that Kushina is very interested in him, because he claims to be an Uzumaki, but looks like her late husband.
- Secret: Naruto holds within himself the Yin half of Kurama's Chakra, but is incapable of using it for anything more elaborate than high-speed regeneration because it would draw too much unwanted attention. The same holds true for the quasi-divine ability known as Six Paths Sage Mode

Ad Utrumque Paratus Brainstorm & Notes

Ad Utrumque Paratus
Premise: The history books don’t always hold the entire truth. While Sirzechs and his friends led the New Satan Faction to war against the Old Satan Faction, there was a fifth person who took the fight to the shadows so his friends could stay in the light. Uzumaki Naruto is the Head of the Underworld’s Black Ops Division and also the keeper of Lady Serafall’s heart.
Required Inclusions:
- In this scenario, Uzumaki Naruto is one of the last survivors of an Extra Demon clan that possesses an affinity for Fuinjutsu and the ability to conjure the Adamantine Sealing Chains.
- The Uzumaki clan were the very first Shinobi to exist, having sprung up long before such groups rose to prominence in Eastern Asia.
- While crimes of sedition and high treason were the official reasons given for the clan’s decimation, the reality is that the Original Maou felt threatened by the clan’s abilities.
- The main pairing in this scenario will be between Uzumaki Naruto and Serafall Leviathan. Although, other women are permitted should they gain Serafall’s blessing.
- It is Naruto’s trained subordinates that the Maous call when they need something subtle or of questionable legality, done. (Spying, blackmail, top secret deliveries, assassinations, etc.)
- In this scenario, Naruto isn’t a Jinchuuriki. If Kurama exists, it is as an independent and free kitsune. Bonus points if Kurama is a girl.
- Naruto and his Black Ops Division will only obey the orders of the Yondai Maou, no matter what the Elder Council and Clan Heads try to do about it.
- Naruto loves the Underworld, so he will enter in conflict against the Old Satan Faction, the Khaos Brigade and anyone else foolish enough to threaten his home and people.
- While full knowledge of Naruto’s duties is on a strict “need to know” basis, his status as Serafall’s paramour means he’ll be an honored guest at the Sitri clan’s stronghold.
- The Bael clan must be one of Naruto’s main detractors since he was the one who trained Sairaorg in the basics of unarmed combat.
Preferred Inclusions:
- The various shinobi (devils?) who live within Konohagakure, if it exists in this story, should be vassals who have sworn themselves to the Uzumaki clan.
- The friendship between Naruto and Sirzechs should enter a cooling off phase after the incident with Kuroka, when Sirzechs fails to do anything to stop the Nekoshou Massacre.
- Naruto should be the one who defeats Kokabiel during the incident in Kuoh Town, instead of Vali Lucifer. Whether the Cadre survives the fight or not will be left to the author’s discretion.
- Naruto should offer a spot in his Peerage to Rossweisse before Rias can make her sales pitch, whether the Valkyrie accepts or declines the offer will be left to the author’s discretion.
- Naruto should take Genshirou Saji in private when he joins Sona’s peerage and deliver one hell of a shovel speech to the young man.
Optional Inclusions:
- When a devil reaches the Transcendental stage of existence, they could have a choice between enhanced power or an accelerated healing factor, with Naruto choosing the latter.
- If Terumi Mei is part of Naruto’s peerage, she could put the fear of God into Issei by threatening to melt the young man’s intimate bits off.
- Since he’s much more Uzumaki than Namikaze, Naruto could be unable to use the Hiraishin.
Forbidden Things:
- Naruto being sealed within the Isolation Barrier during the conflict with Trihexa.
- Naruto giving his other lovers children before Serafall is ready to be a mother.
- Naruto and his subordinates doing something to rekindle the Great War.
- Naruto having a subordinate who can force him to do paperwork.
- Naruto being romantically interested in men.
- Naruto, the malevolent emo doormat.

Special Notes:
- As far as I can discern, the Demons and Devils of High School DxD are fundamentally the same species, with only a few minor differences that are based more on their respective cultures than anything to do with their physiology. The chief differences is that they have a different native dialect (Abyssal for demons, and Infernal for Devils), and that the Heir Primary for an Extra Demon clan is forbidden from participating in sanctioned Rating Games or else they lose their position as the clan's heir.
- It is worth noting that the Evil Piece system was created by a Devil, which means that characters who are transformed by an Evil Piece will become Devils unless they were already considered to be Demons.

Complications
- Abyssal Aversions: The power of prayer acts against Demons as an aversive force, forcing them to make an opposed Will Resistance check against the person who is praying or be forced to get as far away from that person as possible. Furthermore, Churches also emit a similar aversive aura, forcing the Demon to make a DC 15 Will Check or stay as far away from the structure as they can.
- Honor: Naruto will always keep his word once he has given it to someone, strives to uphold the common good, and is never underhanded in his dealings.
- Motivation: Protector: As the leader of the Uzumaki remnant, it is Naruto's duty to protect the people of Konohagakure (a hidden village in the Underworld) and ensure that they are able to live full and happy lives for as long as he continues to exist.
- Power Loss: Damage caused by Holy Water, blessed objects and Holy Weapons is considered to be Incurable against Demons, requiring special treatments to effect recovery. Furthermore, Demons lose access to their Abyssal Durability against such attacks.
- Responsibility: Naruto is regularly tasked with performing a wide variety of Black Ops missions at the behest of the New Satan Faction, which is vitally important due to the fact that they are engaged in a civil war with the Old Satan Faction.

- Infernal Aversions: The power of prayer acts against Devils as an aversive force, forcing them to make an opposed Will Resistance check against the person who is praying or be forced to get as far away from that person as possible. Furthermore, Churches also emit a similar aversive aura, forcing the Devil to make a DC 15 Will Check or stay as far away from the structure as they can.

Naruto: Eyes of the Shadow Brainstorm & Notes

Naruto: Eyes of the Shadow
Premise: When Naruto’s twin sisters are imbued with the power of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, what does that leave him? Not much, aside from the Fox’s remaining Youki, but even that is enough to change his entire life in ways that no one could have possibly predicted. Enter, Naruto of the Kage no Me.
Required Inclusions:
- Minato and Kushina must survive the Kyuubi’s attack on Konoha, with Sarutobi Hiruzen being the one who sacrificed his life to seal the homicidal fox inside of their younger two children.
- As a result of this fact, Naruto must be neglected by his parents, though this will be largely unintentional, since he is older and Kushina is busy raising the twins, while Minato is Hokage.
- Naruto’s primary pairing must be the original character known as Yuki Sayomi (Night Beauty), with any additional romantic partners being required to gain Sayomi’s approval.
- Naruto must be unmolested by the residents of Konohagakure, since he will not be the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki in this scenario, but will instead have a brand spanking new Dojutsu.
- Naruto must eventually get fed up with his parents and run away from home, though not necessarily the village, and become the founder of the Kuroki (Black Wood) clan.
- The Namikaze-Uzumaki family and their friends must be ignorant of the full scope of Naruto’s abilities until after he graduates from the Shinobi Academy.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Without the presence of the Kyuubi, Naruto is changed by his exposure to the demon’s Youki in remarkable ways, one of which is the creation of an entirely new Dojutsu.
- Another change is that he gains a healing factor that rivals the healing abilities of his younger siblings, who are each in possession of one half of the Kyuubi’s chakra (Yin vs. Yang).
- Naruto’s Dojutsu should be similar to the Sharingan, yet different at the same time. The main difference is in its color scheme and the fact that it grants Jutsu instead of copying them.
Optional Inclusions:
- Sayomi could be a prodigy of Kenjutsu that uses her family’s fabled Ice Release in a manner which is startlingly similar to Rukia’s Shikai, and ultimately evolving it to gain her Bankai.
- Naruto could end up developing Menma’s Spiraling Ring and Great Spiraling Ring attacks.

- Honor: Naruto will never go back on a promise once he has given his word to accomplish something. He's the sort of person who'd rather die than break his bond.
- Motivation: Thrills: For Naruto, the rewards of being a Shinobi are just a bonus for having a good time with his friends and teammates.
- Power Loss: It is possible for Naruto to run out of Chakra to power his Shinobi Arts and Doujutsu, and in such situations he is treated as though under the Powerless condition for effects with the Doujutsu, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Chakra Control descriptors. Rising Tides Brainstorm & Notes

Rising Tides
Premise: Thanks to her husband, Lily Potter was able to activate an incredibly obscure Time-Space Seal that transported both herself and her child, Harry Potter, to the remote village of Konohagakure, where she was able to reunite with her distant cousin, Uzumaki Kushina, and ultimately became the leader of the revitalized Uzumaki Clan following Kushina’s untimely demise.
Required Inclusions:
- Lily must survive Voldemort’s assault on her family’s cottage by using a Time-Space Seal to escape with her son, taking them to the Shinobi village of Konohagakure.
- Lily must be a member of the extended Uzumaki clan, even if her surname is not indicative of such a relationship. She must also take Uzumaki Naruko in when her parents are killed.
- Naruko must be raised as a Shinobi, with all the skills and abilities that such an upbringing would normally imply, and must also have the secret knowledge of the Uzumaki clan.
- When she is assigned to a Shinobi Team, it must be one that lacks a certain loud-mouthed pink-haired know-it-all, though Sasuke (or fem!Sasuke) can still be on the team.
- Harry on the other hand, must be trained as a wizard, or what in Naruto terminology would be a Ninjutsu specialist, with all the abilities and powers that such an upbringing would imply.
- Lily must be on the same level of power as one of the Sannin, but lacks the combat experience that comes with being raised as a Shinobi.
- As a result, Lily will be recognized as the official leader of the Uzumaki Remnant, and be responsible for ensuring their future prosperity.
- Harry’s primary romantic pairing must be Naruko, with any other girls he might be romantically interested in needing to get her approval before joining the relationship.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Naruko should still be the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, though how she handles this fact, in comparison to her male counterpart, will be up to the author.
- Sasuke should actually be a girl in this fic whose personality, and possibly her appearance, is remarkably similar to that of Rin Tohsaka from the Fate/Stay Night universe.
- Kushina should have established a full scale Clan Compound for the Uzumaki Remnant during her time as the leader of the Uzumaki clan, which is where Lily will reside as the Clan Leader.
- If Harry attends Hogwarts, then both Sasuke and Naruko should accompany him to the school when he goes, making it a protracted field assignment for the trio.
Optional Inclusions:
- The name “Naruko” is entirely optional, and indeed not the challenger’s preferred name for a female Naruto, so please feel free to pick something original for her given name.
- The Uzumaki clan could operate as the equivalent of Shinobi Freelancers, instead of being tied to the Konoha Shinobi Force, since they used to have their own Shinobi Village.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry, Lily and Naruko, the malevolent emo doormats.
- Harry being involved in a male-slash pairing.

Complications
- Enemy: There are those within Konohagakure who dislike the fact that Lily has effectively monopolized their resident Jinchuriki, and who seek to reclaim the girl for their own nefarious purposes. These individuals include people like Shimura Danzo, Yakushi Kabuto, and other nefarious people.
- Honor: Lily adheres strongly to the code of honor that is common to residents of Konohagakure, and believes strongly in the Will of Fire, even if she wouldn't necessarily refer to it as such due to her upbringing among the Wixen of Great Britain.
- Motivation: Protector: As the strongest member of the Uzumaki remnant, not counting Uzumaki Nagato, it is Lily's desire to keep the members of her clan safe and to ensure that they are able to live up to their own individual ambitions, aiding them when they need it, and guiding them on a path towards the future.
- Power Loss: Lily must be able to perform the necessary hand gestures in order to cast her spells, which means effects which prevent her from moving can, and often will, stop her from performing magic.
- Relationship: Lily is the doting mother of Harry Potter, and also the guardian of their mutual cousin, Uzumaki Narumi, and it is the pair of them which has ignited a desire within Lily to see the Uzumaki clan once again reach the heights of greatness it had before the last Great Shinobi War.

Complications
- Fame: Harry is, unfortunately, quite famous within the magical enclave of Great Britain for being one of only two people to have ever survived a hostile encounter with the Dark Lord Voldemort in such close confines as a personal dwelling place.
- Honor: Harry, like his mother, is a steadfast practitioner of the code of honor that is so common among the denizens of Konohagakure, and also a strong representative of those who possess the Will of Fire.
- Motivation: Protector: Harry has a strong desire to protect not only his teammates, but also any innocent bystanders who are unfortunate enough to be caught in the crossfire during any Shinobi battles he is participating in.
- Nemesis: Headmaster Albus Dumbledore will do just about anything in order to regain control of his alleged messianic figure, since he firmly believes that only Harry has the ability to defeat the Dark Lord Voldemort.
- Relationships: Harry is the son of the current Head of House to the Uzumaki Clan, and also the beloved cousin to the Kyuubi Jinchuriki, Uzumaki Narumi. He is also the third member on Team Seven, which is composed of his cousin and another young woman known as Uchiha Satsuki.

Okay, I'm gonna try the Rising Tides idea again, but I'm gonna refine it a bit so that Lily isn't as over the top powerful this time around, among other things.

Rising Tides v2 Brainstorm

Rising Tides
Premise: Thanks to her husband, Lily Potter was able to activate an incredibly obscure Time-Space Seal that transported both herself and her child, Harry Potter, to the safety of Konohagakure, where she was able to reunite with her distant cousin, Uzumaki Kushina, and ultimately became the leader of a revitalized Uzumaki Clan following Kushina’s untimely demise.
Required Inclusions:
- Lily must survive Voldemort’s assault on her family’s cottage by using a Time-Space Seal to escape with her son, taking them to the Shinobi village of Konohagakure.
- Lily must be a member of the extended Uzumaki clan, even if her surname is not indicative of such a relationship, and she must take Uzumaki Shio (female Naruto) in when her parents die.
- Shio must be raised as a Shinobi, with all the skills and abilities that such an upbringing would normally imply, and must also have access to the full knowledge of the Uzumaki clan.
- When she is assigned to a Shinobi Team, it must be one that lacks a certain loud-mouthed pink-haired know-it-all, though Sasuke (or fem!Sasuke) can still be on the team.
- Harry on the other hand, must be trained as a wizard, or what in Naruto terminology would be a Ninjutsu specialist, with all the abilities and powers that such an upbringing would imply.
- Lily must be on the same level of power as one of the Sannin, but lacks the combat experience that comes with being raised as a Shinobi. In M&M terms, this means she is a PL 11 character.
- As a result, Lily will be recognized as the official leader of the Uzumaki Remnant, and must be responsible for ensuring the clan’s safety and future prosperity.
- Shio must be Harry’s primary romantic partner, with any other girls that wish to be involved with him needing to secure her approval before joining the romantic pairing.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Naruko should still be the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, though how she handles this fact, in comparison to her male counterpart, will be up to the author.
- Sasuke should actually be a girl, known as Satsuki, in this fic, whose personality is remarkably similar to that of Rin Tohsaka from the Fate/Stay Night universe.
- Kushina should have established a full scale Clan Compound for the Uzumaki Remnant during her time as the leader of the Uzumaki clan, which is where Lily will reside as the Clan Leader.
- If Harry attends Hogwarts, then both Satsuki and Shio should accompany him to the school when he goes, making it a protracted field assignment for the trio.
Optional Inclusions:
- The names Shio and Satsuki are entirely optional in regards to fem!Naruto and fem!Sasuke, so the author should feel free to deviate from those names if they so desire.
- The Uzumaki clan could operate as the equivalent of Shinobi Freelancers, instead of being tied to the Konoha Shinobi Force, since they used to have their own Shinobi Village.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry, Lily and Shio, the malevolent emo doormats.
- Harry being involved in a male-slash pairing.
