Health: 3 Story Points: 0 Condition: Normal

Jake simply nods.

He had a bag mostly packed at any given time, so if he needed to he could simply grab it and go.
Admittedly a few extra minutes would be nice to grab a few odds and ends. Either way he was ready to get moving again, he was starting to feel uncomfortable after spending so much time around the base.

Ghost Raven (Esmerelda Ravenwood)
Health: 4+1 Temp; Story Points: 7
Condition: Normal

Esme frowned, thinking. “I’d at least like to know what area we’re operating out of. Climate is one thing. I’d hate to pack for the Amazon and end up in Siberia, or the other way around. But there’s more to it than that. A thousand little things,” She started ticking things off on her fingers. “How to deal with the locals if we need to. What currency the area uses. Preventative measures against the local insects and animals. What’s edible in the local wilderness in case things go very badly. There’s also countries that won’t take kindly to me having too much exposed skin, which can complicate the mission.” She looked at Dial-Tone directly. “We all know the saying, Sarge. Proper preparation prevents piss poor performance.” To be clear, she did of course have a go bag ready at all times. This did not mean, however, that she couldn’t customize it given a little prior notice. 30 minutes was more than enough time to prep for most places. She also wasn't trying to cause trouble. If he said not to worry about it, she wouldn't.

Everyone
"Do we need to make any preparations for the safe house?" pointing towards climate and other environmental issues.
Dial Tone answers the groups questions as they make their way to gear up

"Nah so far Santa Fe's been having a mild summer so were good to go there, as for the safehouse its got a fabricator and is fully stocked. Apparently our backup got the place ready and warmed up for us while they were there so we just need to show up at the rendezvous point."
"What type of environments will we be operating in?"
“I’d at least like to know what area we’re operating out of. Climate is one thing. I’d hate to pack for the Amazon and end up in Siberia, or the other way around. But there’s more to it than that. This did not mean, however, that she couldn’t customize it given a little prior notice. 30 minutes was more than enough time to prep for most places. She also wasn't trying to cause trouble. If he said not to worry about it, she wouldn't.

"Urban for the moment, small warehouse district on the outskirts of Santa Fe. Civilian infiltration we've got disguises and cover identities prepared." he answers "After that we'll have to see where were headed from there. So good ole US of A coinage and only have to deal with the usual city rats and the occaisonal coyote and roadrunner." He adds in with some good humor as they hustle through the corridors.

At the communal area he waves at them to go on

"I'll meet you in the hangar wheels up in fifteen minutes so pack quick well have more equipment as we need it at the safehouse. I have to talk to the pilot hope shes not feeling like showing off today." he says a small hint of fear in his voice before he smiles again and turns and heads off to the hangar

--ooOoo--

A few minutes later after everyone grabs what they need, and make their way to the hangar they see Dial Tone looking somewhat defeated as he hangs his head and climbs aboard the Osprey. the tilt-rotor aircrafts newest version a significant upgrade from its previous model faster and quieter used for stealth insertions and rapid transit of joes to various hot-spots.

the pilot her brazen red hair tied up in a ponytail, smirks at Dial Tone and then waves at the team as they approach. Rhea Hawk aka Red Hawk a crack helicopter pilot and personal protege of Wild Bill himself whose flown all of them on a mission at least once gives a healthy smile. The team knows her to be a skilled pilot and willing and able to put helicopters through maneuvers that one could only imagine seeing in sci-fi and action adventure movies. She quickly gained fame when she put an Apache into a full loop de loop and used the resultant surprise to take out a cobra rattler bearing down on her with a hellfire.

"You folks ready?" she says ignoring the groaning no from Dial Tone in the cabin "Climb aboard then and lets get this show on the road."

Once everyones greeted her and on board she climbs into the pilots seat herself donning the helmet needed to fly the next gen aircraft and begins the takeoff sequence giving a sharp salute to the Joes acting as ground control before reving the V-24s two rolls royce engines to their max before lifting off the ground the Tilt Rotors lifting the Osprey in a VTOL launch straight up she makes some quick adjustments and in mere moments the team feels the aircraft catch some Gs as it shoots off into the sky at an impressive rate of speed for a propellor driven craft. her voice comes over the intercom into the remarkably quiet cabin which has been designed to act as a mini mission control as needed by the team.

"We've reached cruising altitude folks, weathers clear to the Santa Fe so should be a smooth ride, snacks and drinks in the cooler. and we should be there in about four hours time. Enjoy the flight."

quick note go bags in this case are basic uniforms and a side arm and knife. pretty much along with the basic gear more specific gear can be requed from the safehouse thanks to toymakers skills and the safehouse having a fabricator system

So feel free to chat amongst yourself for a moment then Dial Tone will begin the briefing

Health: 3 Story Points: ? Condition: Normal

"Good ol' sin city. Been awhile since I traveled that den myself." Ken added on, windgeing at his memory. He thought he'd left his gambling habits behind in the pachinko parlors yet it followed him here as well. "I think it's best we keep on track for the mission this time abouts."

ToyMaker

The large flying cargo box was oddly comfortable. It was cold, it was noisy, but there was comraderie here. There was a sense of being.

He watched quietly, with intense eyes. It would be easy to say that he was being standoffish or aloof or antisocial.

He would smile back and offer a few words in response, awkward, trying to hold himself from being too eager.

Better to allow others to think you a fool (or a geek in his case) than to prove it.

Even a soft murmur while going into the complexities of card counting and probablity matrix manipulation that trails off when questions are asked.

But no, he was very present, very much there. In the moment while not being part of it.

He was with his Team and that was wonderful.

Breach stowed his gear in the overhead locker.

"Will it extend to some Pool lessons for Ken?" Breach lifted an eyebrow and gave a wry look at Cowboy Ken.

everyone

Dial Tone comes back into the cabin having taken a moment to prepare the briefing and listen to the banter with a grin.

He lays down some packets and hits a button bringing up a holo-screen on the cabins central intel table. "Allright settle folks well see about Vegas when were done here."

he clicks a button on the remote and brings up a website for Santa Fe Reptomania a quick glance shows the site is for an annual Herpetology expo and show where people go each year to show off their pets and trade information and sometimes various reptiles.

"So while going through the transcripts of the interviews with QR and Faceless." he explains as pictures of the two Cobra operatives pop up on the holo-screen I came across some anomalies. Several of them pointing here of all places."

Another button push and several transcripts pop up. "Long story short they revealed some activity here we cant quite account for via normal activity for Cobra ops. take a look and see what you can see. Could use some fresh eyes."

"The messages are mostly coded and mixed in with some regular chatter. which all seems innocent enough until while skimming them I came across a partial pattern and several timing scripts which pointed to this show as a focus of some sort for their activities."

"So what were gonna do is fly in get with our backup and then hit the safehouse." he says "Then tomorrow morning we go in disguise to the show and scope out the action."

"Primary mission is to investigate, see if we can find whats going on and what Cobra wants from this show, capture and or neutralize any Cobra ops on site and do so all preferably with out alerting or involving local LEOs or making too big a mess."

"Those packets contain cover IDs and support materials so choose one which you think matches you best, and well use the safehouses arsenal to set up the disguise and equipment as needed."

"Any questions?"

So investigation time

An alertness (investigation) or Science (Cryptography) test at Dif 12 for anyone reading the transcripts

Cowboy Ken (Mizuki Kenshiro)
Health: 3 Story Points: ? Condition: Normal

Ken found himself thankful that the topic of delving into the den of sin that was a Las Vegas casino had been put off to the side. Even more thankful that there was something to direct the Englishman's ire. "Well that's just peachy, we're expected to smoke out some snakes in a place full of 'em? Seems we've got our work cut out for us."

Jake leaned forward, squinting at the screen as he went over the transcripts.

"Well," he says as he's reading, "I think I'm leaning towards the Doctorate student, or the chef. I've got enough background in the first, and I probably won't be able to pull off a dinner but I know enough about cooking to talk a good game."

"Though I guess any option works as long as we're not being grilled for details on our background."

He looks over the proposed identities and raises an eyebrow at the choices.

"With the best will in the world, I don't think anybody here wants me to pretend to be someone called Jorge, so I suggest that I am the socialite Kenneth Chadwick."

Eyeing the remaining identities, he casts a glance over at Toymaker and the obvious issues the former Cobra was going to present.

"Toymaker, you might be best for the exotic animal breeder. Any prosthetics we can't hide, pass off at the result of a few mishaps and that you are working for me. As I always get noticed for my size, I can deflect some attention away from you."

ToyMaker
Health 5, SP 2/6

The big scientist nodded over to Breach, a wry smile upon his face. "Yes. Please make choice for me. Maybe best to be loud and obvious than subtle. Are any of the roles someone strange? Rock star? Eccentric? Man that has." he thinks a moment, how did Raven put it the other day when looking at the heavily tatted woman, "Man with 'daddy issues'?" He lets out a soft wheezing grunt, "Or maybe hide in back, unseen voice, unheard eyes over shoulders?" But then, the group had gotten smaller with reassignments since their last stay at home outting and his success with being the overwatch.

But the matter was quickly put to the needed research. Being keenly attuned towards the world of technology and all of the wonders (and horrors) that it brought with it, he began to search through other means, trying to gather more information that could be applied to either of the situations.

The first roll of business was to start doing research into what the trades and specialized websites had to say about Reptomania shows. With the name, seemed more likely they attracted the civiliain specialist crowd rather than 'estemed professionals'. Was it for collectors? Or was it for product? What did the fans say? What did the detractors wail about? Was it truly for just reptiles or did it, like many other shows of its kind delve into other odd pets such as arachnids? *his hand lightly stroking the curious mechanical pet in his pocket* What was being said? What was not being said?

On the other hand, computers were so often involved in the development of ciphers and schemas. While they had the potential of making a far greater mystery, there were often also patterns that could be found and little breaks that could be used to lever open a situation.

Or he could just be overspecialized and using a screwdriver when a hammer would be better suited.
So lots of things that could be thrown at this:

Checkered Past
Perk: You think outside the box compared to traditional Joe thinking, and you gain an Edge on Smarts Skill Tests when looking for weaknesses, flaws in security, or hidden items.

Specialist: Technologist
Perk: When you choose this Influence, select a skill you have a Specialization (Technology) in. Once per encounter when using that skill outside of combat, you gain an Edge

EXPERT KNOWLEDGE
When you choose this Origin, select an area of study covered by a Smarts skill. When you succeed on a Skill Test in your area of study, you gain an additional benefit (such greater information, additionaltional healing, more potent effects) as if you rolled a critical success. If you critically succeed in your area of study, you gain two additional benefits instead of one.

Alertness: +1D4

Checkered past would work for the reptomania no sweat

and technologist could work with expert for the crypto and investigation check

also you do get an edge for the past cobra knowledge of their actions and ops
