A Foreign Champion Brainstorm & Notes

A Foreign Champion
Premise: In an absolutely low moment of his life, Harry Potter is approached by a beautiful entity claiming to be a goddess who came with a job offer. However, this also served to attract the attention of another being who has been searching for him for a long time. Now, cursed by his infamous luck, Harry has found himself at the heart of two powerful, yet opposed, divine families.
Required Inclusions:
- Following the demise of his godfather, Sirius Black, Harry must be approached by one of the twelve Olympians, who asks him to become their Champion.
- This request comes with the additional offer of a formal magical adoption by the god, which will include within it the addition of divine abilities related to the deity in question.
- Shortly after this, Harry must be found by another deity, this one from a different pantheon, who is actually his biological parent.
- The reason for his abandonment for a child was not malicious, but instead was due to the deity being unable to track his “scent” after regaining their true body.
- Harry must keep his nature as a foreign demigod a secret from the other residents of Camp Half-Blood, at least at first, though his new patron should figure it out fairly quickly.
- Harry must have powers and gifts from both sides of his divine family, and face friends and foes from both sides as well.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry should become romantically involved with his divine patron if they are a female deity, bonus points will be given if the deity is at least indirectly connected to Hades.
- Harry should interact with Half-Bloods from other pantheons aside from just those with a Greek or Roman divine parent.
- The gods of the Insular Celts should still be very much alive, having been preserved by various Folk Traditions, while those of the Continental Celts did indeed perish like Luguselwa believes.
Optional Inclusions:
- Luna Lovegood could be an Oracle, though not necessarily one that is in-tune with Apollo.
- Harry’s divine patron could be the Lady Demeter, while his divine mother could be the Lady Brigid, giving him both plant and fire-based abilities.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry being particularly open with the fact that he is a Demigod.
- Harry’s birth parent being a Greek or Roman deity.
- Harry siding with Dumbledore or Voldemort.
- Harry the pathetic emo doormat.

Complications
- Destiny: It is Harry's destiny to be the one who vanquishes the dark wizard that styles himself as "Lord Voldemort."
- Disability: Celtic Demigods are known to possess varying degrees of Dyslexia, since their brains are hardwired for Ancient Irish, though Harry in particular is also known to be fluent in both Aklo and Ancient Greek.
- Honor: Harry will always keep his word once he has given it to someone, strives to uphold the common good, and is never underhanded in his dealings.
- Motivation: Doing Good: Harry wishes to use his powers in order to make the world a better place for everyone, regardless of what species they happen to be; unless they are actively trying to kill him.
- Mythic Weakness: Harry's Fatal Flaw is his impulsive recklessness. He just can't stop himself from rushing into places where angels would fear to tread if it means that he can save someone's life! This can, and will, get him into a whole heck of a lot of trouble, and may even lead to his untimely demise.
- Relationships: Harry is the Champion of the Greek goddess known as Lady Demeter, and he has also recently discovered that he is the most recent son belonging to the Irish goddess known as Lady Brigid. Naturally, this means his power suite is sometimes at odds with itself.

Si Vis Pacem, Fac Bellum
Premise: Never let it be said that Ares had no eye for talent. The gods might have moved with the Heart of the West, but he was still fond of Great Britain. It was, after all, the cause of many historic conflicts. But, when he saw the tempestuous Lily Evans, he just had to have her; she’d give him his most powerful child in centuries!
Required Inclusions:
- Even though the Hellenistic Pantheon moved to America, a few, like Ares, will still visit their old stomping grounds in countries like Great Britain from time to time.
- While derisive of what the local magicals called a war, Ares must bear witness to at least one of the three battles where Lily Potter (nee Evans) defied the Dark Lord Voldemort.
- Intrigued and infatuated by both her power and her sheer ruthlessness, the war god will not rest until he manages to bed the fiery redhead.
- Lily must refuse every advance made by the war god, until he has no other choice but to impersonate her husband in order to get into her knickers.
- Whether the Potters know that their son is a Demigod, or not, will be left to the individual author’s discretion.
- Harry will have all the abilities that the children of Ares are known to possess, but to a higher level of power than his half-siblings.
- The fact that Harry also inherited a talent for wizarding magic from his mother will give him the potential to become a formidable warrior.
- Fast forward years later, Harry’s semi-divine nature will no longer stay hidden after he lost his temper against Marjorie Dursley.
- While Hogwarts and Hogsmeade are usually safe enough against things that go bump in the night, Harry will eventually need to journey to Camp Half-Blood for training.
- The main romantic pairing in this scenario will be between Harry Potter and Thalia Grace. Other women are allowed should they obtain Thalia’s blessing.
- The prophecy linking Harry to Tom Marvolo Riddle must come from a source outside of the Hellenistic Pantheon, though the author is free to decide where exactly it originates.
- If Harry was an accidental Horcrux, then it must be destroyed at the very moment when he is claimed by his divine father, which should happen while he is at Camp Half-Blood.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry’s temper should be a great weakness of his since he would have received a double dose, what with both his parents known for their fiery tempers.
- Harry should receive a suit of enchanted armor and a matching sword as his reward for successfully completing a Quest.
- The artefacts known as the Deathly Hallows should be relics from another pantheon, rather than being associated with the Hellenistic gods.
- Demigods who are capable of utilizing Magic (capital M), and who are also unrelated to Hecate, or another god or goddess of Magic, should be exceptionally rare.
- Harry should feel grateful that among the Campers, he’s known for his own accomplishments, and not for something he wasn’t responsible for, like banishing Voldemort as a toddler.
- Artemis should owe Harry a single favor since the young man offered her a great hunt on a silver platter; The Acromantulas of the Forbidden Forest.
Optional Inclusions:
- Harry could be more or less indifferent to Percy Jackson’s existence, even though Clarisse seems to have an all-consuming grudge against the son of Poseidon.
- Zeus could have no other choice but to eventually appoint Harry’s as Olympus’ ambassador, since the lad keeps making inroads with deities from other Pantheons.
- Due to his love-hate relationship with Tyche, Harry and Thalia could meet a patrol of Roman demigods during a visit on the western coast of America.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry or Percy having anything at all to do with Chaos (the Deity).
- Harry usurping Clarisse’s role as the counselor for Cabin #5.
- Harry catering to the whims of Mr. D, given his sour attitude.
- Harry siding with Voldemort and/or Olympus’ enemies.

- Fatal Flaw: Harry seems to be an embodiment of the phrase “Curiosity killed the Cat” and it is something that could easily get him killed like the proverb says.
- Honor: Harry will always keep his word once he has given it to someone, strives to uphold the common good, and is never underhanded in his dealings.
- Motivation: Make Him Proud: Harry uses his divine father's name in good faith and to do positive things in order to keep Ares' name alive in the world.
- Quirk: Harry is someone who feels at home when surrounded by magic, and he will conversely feel anxious anywhere that magic is unwelcome.
- Relationships: Harry feels that Cabin No. 5 at Camp Half-Blood is as close as he has ever come to finding a true home, even though it is as far away as he has ever gotten to the land of his birth. However, he is also determined to be his own person, so that he can separate himself from the mold that Clarisse La Rue is driving their half-siblings into.
- Temper: As the son of both Ares and Lily Potter, Harry is known to possess a monumental and fiery temper.

The Prince of Death Brainstorm & Notes

The Prince of Death
Premise: Every half-blood has a divine parent, this we know very well. But what happens when a half-blood is born who has two divine parents instead of one? How could this be possible without making the child a full-fledged deity? Well, through the ways of the divine, Harry Potter was born as a twice-blessed Half-Blood, one with two divine and two mortal parents.
Required Inclusions:
- Harry must be willing to use nonlethal force against monsters, provided they show remorse for their actions, but will usually deal with them using deadly force.
- Harry must be at least as powerful as Percy is when the PJO series began, if not more powerful depending on when he discovered his quasi-divine status.
- Harry must be the son of both Hades and Persephone, as well as of James and Lily Potter, how this is accomplished will be left up to the author’s discretion.
- Either Thalia Grace, the Di Angelos, or Clarisse La Rue must be allied with Harry, though that doesn’t necessarily mean they need to be his romantic interests.
- Hades and/or Persephone must break Zeus’ decree and interact with Harry during his childhood, even if they do so in a way that leaves him ignorant to their true identity.
- If Harry turns to the “dark side” then Luke must swear allegiance to him, instead of offering his services to Kronos, why this is the case will be left up to the author.
- Both Dumbledore and Tom must be wary of Harry after our young hero discovers his divine heritage, though that won’t necessarily stop them from trying to manipulate / kill him.
- Hades must destroy the Horcrux in Harry’s scar, and he should also be quick to realize that it is only a small fraction of Tom’s soul, which could lead to a Quest for Harry later on.
- Even after Harry leaves Hogwarts for Camp Half-Blood, or his own personal dwellings, he must still keep in touch with the friends he made while living in the castle.
- Sirius Black must remain loyal to Harry and do what he can in order to prove that loyalty as often as it becomes necessary for him to do so. He must also remain alive in this story.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry should be on hand to save Thalia from becoming a tree, this event could also be the moment in time when he is claimed by his Divine Father.
- Harry should succeed in uniting the Deathly Hallows, and in doing so, become recognized as the Champion of Thanatos, rather than the Master of Death.
- Wizarding society should be aware of the existence of deities, but at the same time, they should regard demigods with a level of suspicion due to how powerful they tend to be.
- Harry should be assigned his own series of quests that are independent from those that Percy and Annabeth tend to go on, with Thalia and/or Clarisse acting as his regular questing partner.
Optional Inclusions:
- Harry and Thalia could end up in a romantic relationship with one another, much to the general annoyance of their respective fathers.
- Harry could inherit at least a few of his powers from Persephone, allowing him to share at least some things in common with the Children of Demeter.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry being convinced to give up on his divine heritage.
- Harry being involved in a male-slash pairing.
- Harry the pathetic emo doormat.
- Sirius abandoning Harry.

- Honor: Thalia will always keep her word once she has given it to someone, and is never underhanded in her dealings.
- Motivation: Protector: Thalia is very loyal to those who have won her trust and respect, and is willing to lay down her own life in order to defend her closest friends and allies.

- Fatal Flaw: Silena’s flaw is her overwhelming capacity for love. She loves with everything that she is, and the thought of her loved ones being in danger, or else betraying her, is enough to completely cripple her for a significant amount of time. When presented with such situations, Silena must succeed on a DC 18 Will check or be Incapacitated with grief or fear.
- Honor: Silena will not go back on her word once she has given it to someone, and constantly strives to uphold the common good.
- Motivation: Doing Good: Silena believes there is no greater joy than to show compassion to everyone who isn't so unfortunate as to be a Monster of Myth.
- Obsession: Silena is well-known for being a "neat freak" which is perhaps why she gets along so well with Harry Potter.

Sapientia Potentia Est Brainstorm & Notes

Sapientia Potentia Est
Premise: Every Olympian Half-Blood has a single divine parent, this we know; However, Harry Potter is different, because he also has a divine grandparent, marking him as a Twice-Blessed Half-Blood. What is more interesting, is that Harry’s divine legacy comes from two deities who have never gotten along…
Required Inclusions:
- Harry Potter must be one of Athena’s many Brain-Children who was born out of a merger of her thoughts with those of James & Lily Potter. Furthermore, James must be one of Ares’ kids.
- Harry must have all of the basic traits that Athena’s children are known for, as well as a powerful connection to her Warrior aspect, since he is also the grandson of Ares.
- Zeus must remove the Horcrux in Harry’s scar, even if only because it was a taint on his Sacred Symbol, though there could be other reasons for him to do so.
- Harry must reside at Camp Half-Blood prior to when he would begin attending Hogwarts, and he must speak with the Oracle before heading off to the school for the first time.
- Harry’s true nature as a Demigod must be such a well-kept secret that neither Dumbledore or Voldemort are initially aware of his status as the son of Athena.
- Harry’s divine blood, and not Lily’s sacrifice, must be what causes Voldemort pain and slowly burns him alive until the man can secure some of it for his resurrection ritual.
- Harry must be at odds with the Huntresses of Artemis, which means they can’t coo over him if they meet him while he is exceptionally young.
- The Hunt for Voldemort’s Horcruxes must be a Quest that is given to Harry and his friends by either Hades or Thanatos (author’s preference as to which issues the Quest).
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry should be sorted into Ravenclaw House, since it is the only Hogwarts House that truly reflects his status as the son of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom.
- Harry should end up becoming romantically involved with one of the daughters of Aphrodite, though it is the author’s choice as to which one is used, since they can soothe his temper.
- Harry should have a strong, but non-romantic, bond with his half-sister, Annabeth Chase, which could be due to the fact that they are Irish Twins.
- There should be others who hail from Wizarding Britain who are either Demigods or Legacies, and not all of them should be Legacies of Hecate, since that is now a cliche.
Optional Inclusions:
- Voldemort could be one of Hecate’s children, which could explain why he is so successful at convincing various Dark Creatures to side with him in his campaign against Magical Britain.
- Harry could be expected to take multiple brides due to his status as the Heir to multiple bloodlines, even if this is only so he can preserve the independence of said bloodlines.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry being the heir to every magical person in history. He can have four bloodlines at most.
- Harry being paired with the residents of Ares Cabin, Athena Cabin, or Ginny Weasley.
- Harry being involved in a male-slash pairing.
- Harry the malevolent emo doormat.

- Fatal Flaw: While the natural Hubris of Athena's children was beaten out of Harry by the Dursley family, it was replaced by an undercurrent of Wrath that may one day get the better of our hero.
- Honor: Harry will always keep his word once he has given it to someone, strives to uphold the common good, and is never underhanded in his dealings.
- Motivation: Protector: Harry is highly motivated to use his powers to protect others. He willingly puts himself at risk to defend innocents and those he cares about.
- Nemesis: Albus Dumbledore wishes to use Harry as a sacrificial lamb that he can throw at Voldemort in hopes that the boy's death will act the catalyst which will allow the old man to swoop in and defeat the Dark Lord once and for all. Defeat, but certainly not vanquish!
- Relationships: Harry is one of the many "Brain Children" that was conceived of by Athena Parthenos and given over into the care of his mortal parents, James & Lily Potter. However, unknown to Athena was the fact that James had been born as the son of Ares, making Harry a twice-blessed Half-Blood with a double helping of the War domain. He is also best friends with Silena Beauregard and Alice Miyazawa, both of whom regularly accompany him on his Quests.

So I found a rather interesting idea that has sparked my interest, where Harry will basically be a Legacy of Thanatos who upon uniting the Hallows becomes Than's Champion. I just gotta see what comes of that while developing it to see if it is workable.
