Medea and Khan

The two mages struggle in their psychic duel. Medea has a lot of experience, but Khan has specialized knowledge in this particular entity. While not able to wrest complete control of it, he is able to influence it enough to take a small action.

A tentacle shoots out of the gate and wraps around Medea's throat. Unable to fight off both Khan and the beast throttling her, she drops to one knee.

"You will be the first sacrifice to his glory," Khan gloats.

Then, the tide shifts again as Madame Macabre calls out the name of the beats. The entire castle shakes and the beast lets out a wail that shakes everyone to their soul. It is as if every bad thing that has ever happened throughout all of time and space was condensed down into that single sound.

Khan seems to be affected more than everyone else. He staggers back like someone who is punch drunk.

Releasing it's victim, then tentacle is pulled back to the other side of the gate. Medea rises back up, and even though she is shaken and still gasping for air, she is one even footing with Khan once again.

Given that was their last command was to attack 'Americans', Zyzzak has to wonder what pattern recognition templates the Juggernauts have that a blue, six-fingered alien fits. The attack went wide regardless.

Seeing Shogun's distress Zyzzak switches targets firing streaks of plasma.

Zyzzak

Your blasts hits Shogun, ripping apart the armor that Bulwark was using to hold him.

He collapses to the ground and struggles to rise to his feet.
It doesn't change the results, but you forgot the Impaired

Shogun TOU save: 1d20+9-2 17
Bx1, Staggered

Since he was so badly hurt, I am ruling the armor is damaged enough that Bulwark loses the hold.

Silver Phoenix:
[Harper Zhao]
Condition: Bruised
HP: 1

Harper didn't have time to secure Czarina as she would have liked to, there were other opponents that were still a threat to her and her teammates as one of the Juggernauts demonstrated by firing a blast of energy her way again.

Thankfully these monstrosities had horrible aim and Harper avoided the attack as she moved to a space in between the two bur far enough away that they couldn't engage her in melee combat. It only takes her a moment to channel her chi as she crosses her arms across her chest in an "X" like manner then Harper releases the energy all around her as it takes the shape of her title - a large silver phoenix with its wings closed in front of its body.

Scant seconds later Harper violently thrusts her arms out to her sides and upwards only for her animus aura to mirror her action, it's fiery wings sweeping out and up catching both the Juggernauts in the attack.

Silver Phoenix

Silver Phoenix moves around the two remaining robots and hits them with her ki-powered flames.

One seems a bit sizzled but the second one appears to have no ill effects from the fire.

Evelyn "Bulwark" Gracen
HP: 3
Cnd: Impaired

After Zyzzak's attack Evelyn prepared to slam the pieced of armor her power still had a hold on into Shogun. The creature from beyond's cry broke her concentration. Evelyn cringed at the sound-feeling and the broken metal few off target. Wildly so. Meanwhile the woman herself struggled to regain her composure.

Harry "The Shield" Mackenzie

Harry raised his left leg, prepared to snap a kick off at Dr. Jeste in retaliation for the energy bolt that had hit him earlier. In mid-kick the wailing outcry came from the portal and the Canadian hero fell to the side even as his kick was launched off kilter. His footed foot hit the ground as he fell into an awkward sideways stance that left his half bent over.

Madame Macabre

HP: 1
Cnd: Normal

Having traversed most of the outer edge of the summoning-circle, the black-clad mystic now seeks to complete her circuit and finish the counter-ritual. This is the final and most difficult phase. So much can go wrong: The minions can attack her. The summoners can attack her. The Unfathomable One can attack her. Or she simply might not have enough spell-power to overcome both sorcerers’ efforts to conjure the Aberrant. The wail of the Unfathomable One shakes her confidence if only for a moment. Despite these concerns, she must have faith in her own success. Take a deep breathe, you’ll need all your strength here.

As she makes it back to her starting point on the perimeter of the circle, she turns -her arms raised up towards the ceiling- to face both Medea and Khan. In one hand she holds the Hexfire Amulet, a focus to help her concentrate. If her voice was loud up to this point, it is now even louder. Latin phrases tinged with guttural gibberish are screamed in the direction of her mystical adversaries. Though the Unfathomable One is too powerful to confront directly with magic, those who wish to bring it here are not. Her ritual ends with one phrase frantically repeated over and over in Latin: “I command The Gate to close. I command The Gate to close. I command…

All

As Madame Macabre begins her final chant, Khan begins screaming.

"No, you fools. STOP HER! She will ruin everything."
Bulwark and The Shield's attack both miss.

With the next round of action, Madame Macabre will complete the counter-ritual and close the portal.

All of the remaining villains will be going all out to stop her. This includes using Extra Effort to surge and whatnot.

Everyone (except Madame Macabre) gets one round of actions to stop them and/or protect Madame Macabre. Remember, she must maintain full line of sight on the portal and Khan. If any of them get a successful attack on the defenseless Madame Macabre, she will have to start over.

No initiative, so post at your leisure. This is the scene from the end of Avengers Age of Ultron where they are stopping the army of Ultron from getting to the key.

Evelyn "Bulwark" Gracen
HP: 3
Cnd: Fatigued, Dodge/Parry 15

As the tension of the magical battle for control was reaching it's culmination. You could feel it in the air. Something separate and different from the physical conflict taking place in tandem with the arcane ritual that was being fought over by the three arcanists. If the feeling in the air wasn't enough, the outcrys from Khan and Madame Macabre signaled the final push.

Evelyn paid attention the movements of the enemy forces, studying the ebb and flow of battle. When postures shifted to finally follow Khan's command and focus hostilities on Elizabeth, Evelyn marshalled as much of her might. There were no grand physical gestures. The metal moved at her will. That was enough. She moved into position to intercept incoming attacks directed at her distracted teamwork, her martial stance defensive and warding even as she sent the damaged pieces of Shogun's armor batter at him relentlessly.

Using Extra Effort for a second Standard Action. That Standard Action will be to attack Shogun again, or the most injured Juggernaut if he falls to Bulwark's previous attack. Picking up on Bulwark's increased tempo in attack Harry doubled pushed himself. Throwing weighty punches and kicks at Dr. Jeste he launched himself into a full on offensive, intent on taking down the villainous scientist before he could launch an attack on the vulnerable Madame Macabre.

"What is it with your group and attacking people or bringing the end of the world. Spoiler alert, you die in tubes and some people who may or may not be you fight us for some reason. I can't see why myself. We are a likable group. Whatever it is, I think you all should just stop for a moment and let the necromancer do her thing.", says Luke to no avail to the advancing group. he didn't really expect them to do anything just because he said it.

As expected, his words didn't work. "You just had to make me do it didn't you. I have a new trick I've been thinking on. Might be some fun to try it now. Another spoiler alert, I don't know this trick yet in your future.", says Luke.

Taking to the air he positions himself in a manner for maximal effect without messing messing up the ritual or hitting his buddies. In front of him materializes a swirling vortex comprised of ice particles. Each particle on their own, weren't terribly dangerous. A thousand of them however could hurt a bit. When it got big enough, Luke sent them flying at the bad guys.

Being more defensively minded than offensive, the alien technician hovered over Madam Macabre. His gloved hand was a blur as it typed, recalibrating and resequencing the tractor array to both push and pull, hardening the air in a projected cone encompassing the necromancer but still giving her freedom of movement. He continually adjusted to disperse the enemies' attacks but allow whatever the Madam was doing to be unhindered. He double-tapped the energy output to strengthen the effect.

Silver Phoenix:
[Harper Zhao]
Condition: Bruised
HP: 1

Khan's yelling tells Harper that Madame Macabre was succeeding in her efforts to close the portal, Harper and the others just had to give her the time she needed to finish. So, the martial artist was going to do what she could to do that.

It only takes her a moment to focus her chi then she channels it outwards through her fist as a large phoenix comprised of silver flames flew forth to attack both of the robots again, soaring through the air looking as grand and majestic as it screeched angrily at its intended targets. Hitting the first robot as it uses its beak to try and rip the arm off of the construct before turning its attention to the second robot without pause as it uses its fiery claws to tear through the man-shaped machine only to go back to the first robot again and follows that attack with another attempt to tear large parts out of the second robot.

OOC wrote:Going to use Manifesting The Silver Phoenix: [Mystical Fire Damage 8 (Extra: Area [Burst])] again, targeting the remaining robots again then Surge to have another attack and do the same attack the second time around (it's the only attack SP has to use on the robots).
