"All right then. The local authorities are on the way. Let's eee if we can handle the basics while we are waiting for them to arrive. We don't want them to think we are lazy or sloppy," Viv said cheerfully- it was much easier to be cheerful when there weren't a bunch of murderous werewolves trying to eat you.
"And stay alert. We don't want any of the survivors to circle back and catch us napping- or worse, have a bunch of woodland tourists have to see any of this...

They're probably not used to dealing with this kind of thing, and we can talk them through whatever Ministry policies and procedures are in play- and make sure we share any necessary evidence or information. Especially if they aren't happy having this dropped in their laps, we don't want to make more unnecessary work for them. Also, as noted, I don't think we want to leave the area unattended- either in case some of the surviving weres circle back, or in case some unsuspecting tourists happen by...
In the meantime, Viv can do a bit of a class on investigative procedure and crime scene management, if anyone wants it.

The girl follows along, helping as she can, since basic pokemon training also included the basics of crime scene preservation (boiling down to don't touch anything!). So she knew to be careful.

After some rummaging, Viv finds something disconcerting in the ashes of the campfire...half of a human jawbone...
While Adeleth, besides finding some IDs among the remains of their clothing - all of them are Polish citizens - finds something in one of their backpacks...a strange metallic statue, made from a black, glossy metal and displaying some sort of abstract wolf-like being. The thing gives her goosebumps just from holding it.

"Be careful," the girl warned. "If it gives you the heebie jeebies don't handle it." she looked at the statue. It might not mean anything (she'd bet a cookie it did) but that thing gave her major creepies just looking at it and she really didn't want to even look at it too hard. All things considered, it was an understandable reaction for almost getting filleted like a trout and eaten by the owners. That reminded her to thank the head priest for the extra "self defense" lessons he insisted she take while she stayed at the temple.
