Complications:
Motivation (Revenge)- Kaede believes that his adoptive sibling Moriya killed their father, Gaisai.
Relationship (Yuki- Adoptive Sibling)- The two are travelling companions and share an adoptive father.
Power Loss (Fighting Style)- These fighters must pick a style and stick with it for the duration of the fight- either Accurate Attack (Speed Mode) or Power Attack (Power Mode). They may not alternate without suffering heavy drawbacks to accuracy and defense as they shift forms.
Weakness (Predictability)- These fighters cannot simply "spam" out the same attack over and over again, as the opponent will expect the attacks, and be ready for them (and a counterattack). The third time they try the same technique (or same combo of techniques) in a short span, they will be at -2 to Accuracy, AND to their Active Defenses in that round. All will decrease by 2 every successive round the same move is done.
Total: Abilities: 66 / Skills: 38--19 / Advantages: 8 + 12 / Powers: 9 / Defenses: 18 (132)
-Kaede is the Main Character of The Last Blade series, and is... pretty generic, honestly. Standard thin "pretty boy" design with short blond hair, almost exactly like Rock Howard from Fatal Fury (they share a character designer, though Kaede debuted first), plus the generic "Shotoclone" fighting style. He was adopted at a young age by a legendary swordsman, along with Yuki and Moriya. One fateful day, Kaede & Yuki come across the grisly scene of their slain father/master, with Moriya standing above him. Kaede swiftly attacks Moriya for their father's death, but his adoptive sibling avoids his attacks and leaves. Five years later (the start of the game), Kaede has reached the end of his quest for revenge, but it turns out that their father was murdered by one of the Four Guardians of Hell, Shinnosuke Kagami. Kaede is easily overpowered, but reveals a hidden strength- that of the Legendary Dragon, Seiryu (yes, the game has such a generic plot that "The Hero is actually possessing inborn might" is a trope used). He defeates Kagami, but fears lashing out with his full power again, as Seiryu may control him. In the sequel, he & Yuki attempt to perform a "Sealing Rite" to save the world from even more evil.
-So yeah, Kaede is the ultimate generic "Shotoclone"- he throws out an uppercut and an SNK Sliding Floor Blast, plus an "Across the Screen Move". However, he adds depth with an Air Grab and a Multiattack.
