@Doyglas, the black smoke seems to be getting worse. When you try to communicate with the wardens yoi get a very abrupt, "what the hell are you still doing in the building? Get the hell out. Is there anyone with you?"

The firemen are entering the building.. The sprinklers turn off and the alarms stop. A couple start going through the rooms checking for people. A couple head straight for the smoke, it is pretty obvious. When they hear your voice over the radio they also tell you to "vacate the building. NOW"

While escorting the prisoners he is tasked with keeping an eye on, Conner spots the firefighters and warden back and forth assessing it for any possible threats to his prisoners.

Douglas doesn't respond right away, instead watching the monitors quietly a moment longer. His eyes narrowed on the increase in smoke coming from the bathroom. When he does respond, it is while he is exiting the room.

"Thank you for your concern. There is no one with me. Keep me updated on the situation."

Breaking into a job the young officer makes his way outside the building and, from the outside, begins heading towards the drive-in entrance to the courthouse's holding area.

"I am on my way to the prisoners. Archer, if you are still outside I'll meet you by the [insert convenient landmark] on the way to the back of the courthouse."

Danni Morgan

After giving the other officer a quick explanation of the injured victim's condition, Danni started to head around the building.

When she heard Douglas over the comm she replied "Copy that, Rook, moving to (designated location)" Things were starting to heat up, it seemed, and in more ways than one- and if serious badness was going to go down, she wanted to get back to the car to retrieve more serious equipment...

>OOC: Moving to the rendezvous, then around the building to the vehicle entrance

At this stage Conner and Brandon, you can see all the prisoners including the crooked cops are safely contained, under the building.
@Danni and Douglas, you meet by the access gate to the secure area. When you go through you see Conner and Brandon by your SWAT van keeping an eye on the prisoners.

@everyone. The prisoners are secured. Court will be adjourned for the day.

Any last actions before you see the prisoners returned to their respective holding facilities and you have to go and give a report to your captain.

With the prisoners secured, just one more thing to do. "Was Emil picked up by someone? I am pretty sure he started the fire with his entourage for some reason. Be nice if we can ask him later.", says Conner looking at the scene being secured.

Brandon Warren

"Douglas said it was because they were related to the girl the knife victim hit."

He paused and looked at everything.

"I think we blew up their plans. Preventing the two ex-ops from leaving with other evacuees and keeping them secured could have ruined any plans they had. Maybe even our presence in the court room when they scryed. Or your presence; they shouldn't have been able to see me."

"What I don't know is whether they wanted to kill the ex-cops or free them."

A nod is given when Brandon recounts his earlier assessment of Emil's family situation. Silent confirmation rather than rephrasing what was already said.

"Firefighters are going to be walking right past him to the bathroom we saw smoke coming from. They should handle it if he is in danger. I didn't see anyone else inside other than the fire wardens."

Taking a pause, Douglas turns his eyes away from the SWAT team to the other officers in the area, security personnel, and prisoners assembled in the area. He watches them, gauging demeanors, then looks back to his companions.

"For now we circle the wagons and weather the fire with the prisoners. We were asked to stick to uniforms and sidearms, but I won't hold it against anyone who wants to gear up until this is over."

Brandon looks around sheepishly.

"For the record, my gear usually gets in the way."

Danni Morgan

Danni continued to be alert, though it seemed like the real trouble had passed (for now). "Seems like all of this was Emil and his crew, trying to set up a shot at that guy- fire, glass knife to get past the screening... All that work, and they didn't even stick the hit- he isn't even hurt that bad. Doesn't even really look like it was aimed at our guys at all. I'm kind of more concerned with that drone, and whoever or whatever was happening with that. Anybody think there is a piece here that hasn't popped off yet? Maybe something that we messed up just by being here- or something that was going to happen that Emil and his crew messed up with their little diversion?" She paused, continuing to scan the area warily.

"Looks like they are going to adjourn for the day... Do we want to trail along until our guys get back to wherever they are being held, so nobody takes a shot in transit? Especially if whoever is aiming at them was planning on hitting them on the way out- or panics, since whatever they were planning here got botched?"

Brandon Warren

"There was definitely somebody spying on the court room right about when all the craziness started. I detected a scrying spell activate briefly."

He pauses for a monent.

"No, I can't track it."

He squirmed a bit uncomfortably. After his dad was killed, it took him a few days before he could get away from CPS and go back home. Only it wasn't there. With no way to track it down, he had just assumed the magical part of his life was done. Edwin showed him all kinds of thing he could do, but he ended up wanting to be like Edwin. After high school, he took the necessary college courses and applied for the academy.

After the incident in the building, HPD expects him to use his abilities to help stop crime, which is fine. But without a library or teacher of some kind, he doesn't really know how progress. He doesn't have any of Dad's friend's numbers. If any of them know Dad died, they haven't made an attempt to contact him.

The fact is, there probably is a spell to track down the person who was scrying on the court room. But it's in a book in a library that could be anywhere... or nowhere.

This is the vehicle the prisoners are being transported in. It is identical to the vehicle every other armoured car company uses.

Image
Your vehicle is slightly less anonymous.

Are you going to follow them when they leave for safety or report back to your captain?
