Danni Morgan

Danni's hands tightened on the wheel as she watched the prisoner transport stop suddenly. The Bearcat was not a high-performance vehicle, and most of the time that didn't matter- but now...

She judged speed and distance as best she could. "Hang on, hard stop," she barked, loud enough for the others in the vehicle to hear, but probably not whoever was on the roof. As soon as she spoke, she hit the brakes hard, trying to come to a full stop close to the other vehicle, but not where she would block them if they started up again. Then she reached for the rifle Douglas had put aside for her and reached for the door handle...

>OOC: Not sure how far I'll get down the list of actions.
-First is a hard stop, Drive check 1d20+5= 23, roll https://orokos.com/roll/912563
-Once stopped, unbelt, pick up rifle, prepare to exit vehicle.
-If she has any actions left, she will hold/delay/whatever it is in 2e so that once Brandon drops the shield, she will THEN get out of the truck

@Danni You come to a hard stop, the vehicle in position nicely. You grab the MP5k that you are given and your hands automatically run through the checrained soldier does when handed a weapin.

There was no noise from the roof when you came to a sudden stop.

Ooc- next turn you will be able to burst out of the door guns blazing ;)

@Conner..your action.

Conner Flanagan
HP: 1
CND: Fine

Through the eyes of Fredrick, Conner took one last look while asking him to hang about for a bit just in case a birds eye view was needed. Coming back to his own senses, Conner conveys what he saw. "Don't think its a ninja on the roof, but some woman yielding a kusari gama is up there and has something in a satchel she was reaching for. Fredrick couldn't get a good look on what was inside. Fredrick also couldn't get a good look at her face because of a ballistic mask she was wearing.", reports Conner.

Not worrying too much about weapons, he readies himself to jump out of the van to the best place to go after the woman based on the last images he saw plus any new things he sees while moving once someone opens the door.
Ready move action once van doors open.
If charging is possible, I can add an attack roll. I am not 100% on how charge works.

@conner charging is a full round action. You have to travel at least 10ft. It allows you to move up to 2x your movement and attack. +2 on your attack roll, -2 on your defence.

As you open the door and roll out you hear the clink of a small metallic object hitting the ground. There is a loud pop and a hiss and the atea outside and inside the van fills with eye-stinging smoke making visibility all but impossible.

Danni Morgan

As soon as the door opened, Danni caught a faceful of the choking smoke. Her eyes watered and her throat stung- but she had been tear-gassed as part of her training, and had encountered even worse in the field. She hacked out a quick breath and blinked rapidly- and with an effort of will, she forced herself to keep going...

-FORT DC 14 1d20+7= 9, roll https://orokos.com/roll/913725 . Don't really want to get wiped out, now that the real fun is starting, so I'll use her Luck to re-roll that.
-FORT DC 14 (Luck re-roll) 1d20+7= 9 (Same roll- somebody must be trying to tell me something- but with Luck, that improves to a 19 instead), roll https://orokos.com/roll/913726

Brandon Warren
HP: 1, LP: 2, Condition: Fine

Brandon hears the metal clink and instinctively covers up and avoids the tear gas. When they did this in the academy, he had to fight to open his eyes and breathe in. They wanted the cadets to learn what tear gas felt like.

Douglas Reach
HP: 1
CND: Fine

When he hears the hiss from outside Douglas' mind goes to either smoke or gas dispersal. Reactively he takes in a sharp breath and holds it while simultaneously squeezing his eyes shut and forcing them to water. Primitively creating a an trickle of protective fluid to catch and forestall irritants.
OOC wrote:As a reminder, Douglas' Ready Action to use his Stun Gun should trigger after Brandon lowers his shield, if the blade is still in the roof.

Conner Flanagan
HP: 1
CND: Fine

Conners eye stung, but his changed constitution helped him push through it. Visibility was shot, but his body viewed it like any animal would. Just another environment thing. When the doors swung open, Conner was ready for action.
Fort 21
At this point, Conners move ready action would trigger. Sine he can't see anymore I am guessing charge is off the table this round.

SDouglas, yes the blade is currently still in the roof. Make a hit roll. The bonuses for readying your shot are cancelled out by the smoke filled cab.

@Conner the gas doesn't bother you as you follow Brandon out of the vehicle.

@Danni, exiting the vehicle the smoke seems even thicker. You struggle to make out any details around you.

Douglas Reach
HP: 1
CND: Fine

Douglas opened his eyes a sliver. Enough to see. At least under normal circumstances. The cab was already filled it gas. So he went partially by memory of where the blade had been. Triggering the electrical charge of his stun gun he jabbed it upward towards the roof, where he estimated the penetrating blade had been.

@Douglas you trigger a charge and successfully hit the blade. There doesn't seem to be any result.

@everyone you can hear the sound of doors opening on the armoured vehicle in front... then a man's voice screaming "I'm hit, I'm hit".

There is another clink pop from the vehicle in front.

Brandon then Conner then Danni then Douglas

Brandon Warren
HP: 1, LP: 2; Condition: Fine (Fatigued at end of round)

Great, more gas. Brandon curses under his breath. He isn't half the mage they need right now. Dad would whip up a little wind...

Wait, he saw Dad cast that spell in Abilene. Maybe he could get the movements just right.

Standing up, he uses all of his father's lessons and mimics the movements from that night.

"Ventus!"

A gust of wind springs forth from him towards the vehicle in front of them whipping away all the tear gas.
