Douglas Reach
HP: 1
CND: Fine

"Affirmative Archer. That was the plan."

Douglas responded quickly to Danni's suggestion. Then, in acknowledgement of her warning he raised his voice to speak to the guards trying to manage the crowd of people that were trying to get past Brandon's barrier.

"Guards, get these people away from the door."

A follow-up message was sent over the team's communication, though the words were directed at Brandon.

"Bishop, be ready to support Knight and Archer. I'll escort the prisoners back to the holding area."

A moment later he spoke to the two police officers on trial, motioning with one hand back towards the route they had entered the courtroom from.

"Come with me. I'm taking you back to the holding area. Some people may be using the fire alarm as a distraction to get to you. You'll be safer at the holding area."

@Danni..yes the prisoners do have a dedicated route. A door leading to stairs down. Northern wall to the right of the judges bench. With your keen eyesight you think you get a glimpse of a blade in someone's hand further in the crowd heading for the fire exit.

@Conner Your leap is somewhat unexpected. You tackle him to the ground and something heavy falls from his pocket and scatters into the crowd. His buddies push further into the crowd.

@Douglas. They are super compliant. They know the score.

Brandon Warren
HP: 1, LP: 2; Condition: Fine

Brandon grimaces. He didn't like leaving Douglas without backup.

He lowers the shield over the fire door once Douglas and the two defendants are out of the court room.

"Everybody out," he motions to the now clear door.

If they were coming here from the hallway, the fewer people in here, the better.

Conner Flanagan

"I've got one possible who left the bathroom pinned. Other two are still int he crowd. Some object hit the floor when I tackled him.", says Conner over the comms. He got one of the three men, so maybe the two goons would back away.

Turning to look at Emil, he grabs the man and tries to get him to the side. "What happen in the bathroom After you and comrades left there was some smoke.", inquires Conner.

@Conner. Emil shrugs... "bad wiring probably."

@Brandon. The people crowd through the door towards the exit corridor and from there to the outside.

@Douglas. The prisoners are no problem as you head down the stairs.

With the two men in his company, Douglas escorts them back to the holding area. As he goes he talks over the coms, trying to get in contact with the Sergeant his team had met earlier.

"Sergeant Grant, I am escorting [insert the two prisoner's names] back to their holding cells until we can confirm there is a fire. Have guards in the area so I can rejoin my team once they're secure."

@Conner Emil tries to headbutt you. It is pretty smoothly done. Can you make a DC 17 toughness save. He starts strugglung and shouting about poluce brutality.

@Danni, you are struggling to see the knife in the crowd by the fire exit..

@Everybody. You can all hear Emil shouting.

Brandon

As he hears the screams, Brandon just rolls his eyes. The only people who yell police brutality during an encounter are criminals who are trying to escape police custody. In a courthouse with an active fire alarm, nobody cares and nobody will believe him.

He positions himself in the courtroom so he can see all the main door and fire exit. Someone is using this to go after those two and they will probably be coming through here to get them.

Conner Flanagan
HP: 1
CND: -1 toughness

"Ouch that hurt."
, grunts Conner. "Everyone loves screaming police brutality, if you want, let's just go and give a report to it of the seargent together. I'll even escort you to him myself.", adds Conner.

He wasn't insensitive to calls of police brutality, so added more for safety. "I am sure IA will want to ask you about it all as well so you can tell them how you ceased to stop when I yelled to ask you about the smoke coming out of the bathroom you just left. Oh, and the object that fell from you into the crowd. More detail you can give the better. I'm sure it can all be collaborated by the CCTV.", adds Conner.

Danni Morgan

Danni continued to push through the crowd headed for the exit, trying to get closer to Conner. She kept one hand on her holstered pistol, but still did not draw- with one person already shouting police brutality, she didn't want to be the first person to visibly have a weapon out, not in a hallway full of panicing lawyers... "We have one person with a blade, in the crowd headed for the exit. I don't have LoS- trying to move in"

>OOC: Keep moving towards Conner for now, trying to isolate the person with a knife. Is it one of Emil's buddies, or someone else? Let me know if I need to roll something (either for observation, or to move through the crowd). Are they headed out (with the flow of traffic) or back to the courtroom ("against" traffic)?

It is NOT one of Emil's two buddies. Whoever they are they are in the crowd heading out. The wealthy guy and his lawyer stand out even though they are part of the throng. Make a search roll (as you are deliberately scanning for a specific item).

Danni Morgan

Danni had spent plenty of time on overwatch, trying to pick armed targets out of crowds of unarmed civilians. Many of the details here were different (the indoor setting, the style of clothing, the fact that this wasn't viewed through a rifle scope) but the idea was the same. She started at one end of the scrum and worked her way through the group one person (target) at a time, filing away bits of visual reference to tag each one so she didn't waste effort as the group shifted.

There!

Although you can't see the knife, something strikes you as odd about the movement of people to the door. Most people are just trying to get out without getting to wet but one group are moving at so.eone closer to the door. You do see dark hair and brown skin in the group.

@Conner you make the grapple check but fail to pin Emil. He is surprisingly wiry. He continues to struggle anf screamabout assault.

Ooc...waiting for Danni's action.

@Brandon. If you didn't accompany Douglas you can hear the commotion.
