Re: Fractured: Heroes of All Time against the Darkness IC
Rikolf looks around warily, his hands always on the handles of his axes. After he and Jig pass another clown, who is giggling as he creates balloon animals to give to children, the norseman looks at him more closely and for a brief moment, his eyes seem to flash with lightning before he says, " They are not demons. But that doesn't say much."

Loud music is coming from the tent, like an orchestra, but one that's playing horribly off-key. As for the smells...it smells like sweets...but just a tad bit too much, crossing over to where it's ever-so-slightly unpleasant.

The first thing Jig notices is that the tent is bigger than it should be, with its circumference being double its outside size. There are ranks, much like in a normal circus tent and there are children sitting there, laughing and clapping and eating candy. Up near the ceiling of the tent, there are numerous clown-faced long-limbed acrobats performing all manner of daring acts while the middle of the tent is occupied by what looks like a gaping hole with a sort of strip of ground around its edge.
There are more clowns performing all manner of buffoonery on that strip, careful not to accidentially fall into the hole...
Even from her distant vantage point, Jig can feel the palpable aura of evil that radiates from the hole in the middle, a cloying, grasping malignancy that makes the air taste like mud and rotting weeds.

Through study of her strange science Jig learned of the fluidity of things like physical, spatial, and dimensional boundaries, but it to see it on such a scale was astounding! She took in the scene before her with a morbid fascination but as her eyes drifted over the black spot of vileness , coupled with the laughter of children, she was reminded why they were there. They definitely needed more information. [Which was Jig's default opinion on almost everything.]
"There's probably some kind of 'ringmaster' or central figure, Rikolf." she says to her companion. "Keep an eye out for them."
She'll step inside, keeping to the underside of the bleachers with it's hoard of giggling kids. This was WAY MORE children that had just gone missing recently, especially coupled with those they saw outside. Though she does try to spot any of the ones she had descriptions for from either the natives or the townsfolk.

She can see a few of those children here, but also other kids from what appears to be other eras. Something is apparently active all over the linked times and places.

Jig continues to watch to determine if there is a 'ringmaster', while wondering what the two stealthers were up to as they didn't specify any signals or meeting places.
The big, evil hole was worth investigating but she figured it would be obvious if she just walked out there.

[A few questions:
How big is the hole? It's in the floor under the tightrope, correct?
Do the kids that Jig recognizes as recently missing seem to be acting any different or the same as all the other kids?]

Hashiji Haru
HP: 38/38, AC: 16; Passive Per/Ins: 18/17; Lang: Common, Japanese, Latin, Portuguese, Thieves Cant, English
Haru lifts the back of the tent that Jig entered to see if she can crawl in undetected.
(ooc: Another stealth check? Stealth: 1D20+7 = [17]+7 = 24)

Yes, it's the floor under the tightrope. The hole itself is about 10 meters in diameter.
The kids are sitting there, sometimes laughing or cheering but they appear to be much more...subdued than those outside.
Yes, Haru manages to slip in unnoticed.

Jig will point out the kids they came here to find to the paladin, not that it matters much as all these innocent children seem to be trapped.
She looks up at the numerous clowns on the tightrope mesmerizing the children with their antics.
Jig also wants to get a peek down the hole of evil.
"Jeeves, take this mirror, carry it to the edge of the hole and angle it so I can see down inside." Jig commands her Unseen servant, hopeful a mirror floating out there would go less noticed.

"Rikolf, you said they weren't demonic. Do you actually think they're people?"Do the clowns look non-human (say, overly-stretched features that can't be attributed to make-up)?

Re: Fractured: Heroes of All Time against the Darkness IC
Rikolf shrugs. " Thor gives me insight, tells me if something is a demon...but he said nothing about them. But...they don't look like people."
The clowns look strange, mostly due to their makeup, but every now and then one of them moves in a way that is pointedly strange and hard to do for anyone but a contortionist...
The mirror floats to the edge of the hole, allowing Jig to keep inside...at least for a fraction of a heartbeat before the mirror just cracks.
All she could see was an enormous tumorescent red growth somewhat like a nose and dagger-like yellow teeth...and bright red and blue and green tendrils lashing about.

Catching her breath from the freaky glimpse of what she saw she recalls Jeeves with a gesture and stows the broken mirror for mending later. She produces a small dagger and gestures upward.
"Jeeves, please make your way up to the suspended rope and... cut it." whichever platform was empty is where she directs the unseen servant.

//Just for clarification, you are cutting the rope to make some of the clowns fall into the hole?
Re: Fractured: Heroes of All Time against the Darkness IC
[Yes, and cause an end to the show. She'll prepare to get to the more lucid vilage/indian children to usher them out, but will call for all kids to gets out amidst (what she thinks) will be screaming. she shares this plan with Rikolf.]
