Diego Gonzalez
HP: 1
CND: Haunted
Form: Liquid
Diego had fully expected there to be more to the place. Twenty some armed guards who knew decent information about formations wasn't something you had for just anything. When it turned out to be rubble and miscellaneous stuff, it was disheartening. He nearly went back to the loan mangled survivor to press them to answer all sorts of questions, but looked ahead just a little more.
Always trust your gut. Diego didn't have a gut, but if he hadn't pressed ahead perhaps he wouldn't have felt it. Space being ripped open again? That planet consuming creature, being beckoned by the planet? Preator Null himself running experiments? Diego's mind ran through the possibilities. Before the excursion, Diego had done his homework and there wasn't any known bases here. Cache of weapons that went missing, yes. Certainly no mention of an operating base for Praetor Null, not that Null would feel inclined to divulge this of course. A telepath Jaguar maybe? The possibilities were vast.
When the breaking up and merging back ceased, Diego reoriented himself ready for anything. Being in some African(he guessed) tribal village who the population was being rounded up ranked pretty low on what Diego thought would happen. A normal person would feel compeled to help the primitive natives against the powersuit wearing mag rifle yielding forces. To the people, Diego didn't care. Praetor Null had seen to all humanity being ripped from him. The general scene might as well have been an old movie on in the background for noise to Diego. Here and now, whatever it was, felt in his gut like it had something he wanted.
Existence could all be the torment of an evil demon controlling our senses that only felt real. Some powerful force might be making him think this is all real. Neither mattered. Diego felt he had found the area where to start looking for something and the evil demon ensured the sensory input felt real.
"What is going on here?", inquired Diego in a tone of more curiosity than anything else of the power suit wearers as he approached. Coming from a regular person, they might not care. Coming from a mass of black fluid shifting in roughly human appearance might get Diego a response. His mind reached for anything he might have read in reports or knew about a similar scene.
