OOC: Against the Cult of the Reptile God - D&D 5E - Recruiting Closed
Re: OOC: Against the Cult of the Reptile God - D&D 5E - Recruiting Closed
If it helps there is literally no way that they'll be able to get through that door in less than thirty minutes, so in theory you could search the place and come back before they could release anybody.

Also considering how easily you whooped their asses I'm surprised you're even worried!
I swear these fights are supposed to be at least moderately challenging. I need to stop borrowing TM's dice! ;~)

No really, I don't mind you using them!
I say we move on and trust the door to hold.

LOl- "The Tattooed Man"? What kind of ABSOLUTE DILDO would refer to himself as "The Tattooed Man" !?!

Totally an outsider here and if you tell me to butt out i will, but did you guy's thought 'bout Spiking the Door shut? It's an OLD AD&D trick where you hammer a Long Climbing spike into the floor right on top of the door frame, effectively permanently shutting the door on their side. Only way for 'em to get through the door by that point is taking the entire frame apart.

It's barred. They're breaking the door with an axe.

Then you guy's would have enough time to WALK out the other way, cause they'd have to practically shred that door apart to get through...

It's the only door we know of and no one we've talked to knows of another exit. We don't know exactly how big this place is. It has a second story but we don't know how many sub levels. If they'll break through in half an hour (our best guess) and we encounter any locked doors there really won't be time for careful checking for traps. A cursory look then Just kick 'em in and hope. No time for careful lockpicking either. So the time crunch is nothing to be flippant about, especially for a thinky character like Aldan.
Don't get me wrong, maybe this is better, Aldan's caution and paranoia could have a tendency to slow things down. I've been playing him like a planner and schemer and a bit too overly cautious. We did well before because we set up trip wires and exploited surroundings. Being forced onto their turf, you'll probably see a marked change in our success rate but that won't be so bad.
Speaking of locked doors. the locked door in room... 8, did you call it? (the one opposite of room 4), does it swing in to our room or to the other room?
If we decide we aren't going to fight we might as well try to open it, see where it leads. If Georgia assists, Aldan has advantage to try to lockpick it.
Do any other doors have locks? like the one to 4 or the one to 8?

I'm going to assume you guys try the doors in the main area and look left and right before closing the door again, which gives you this:
5 - A hallway that appears to lead into a dining room, if the large table is any indication. Along the wall is a handsome display case, which contains examples of some of the finer harvests to come from the Orlane area: a huge carrot, a plump ear of corn, a cluster of tall wheatstalks, and a bottle of the local wine.
10 - This hall has a gleaming white tile floor and a series of alcoves along the east wall. Each alcove is lined with black velvet to highlight the beautiful golden items there.
The east door in room 8 seems to swing inwards into the currently unknown room.

This is always the part that drives me nuts, trying to make the image visable.
Is this one working?

What's the roof above us on the first floor of this temple? Wood?
Does the door from 8 to 3 lock? or from 4 to 3?

Why do I suddenly think you're planning on burrowing straight up through the roof?
The building is supported by wood, but it looks like the floorwork is stone. A discerning eye might see some stone shape spell at work.
None of the doors in room 8 have locks on them, with the exception being the front door.

I'm with T-man. Time isn't on our side and villagers chasing us is the least of our worries. Let's just keep moving

Okay, should we see what's behind the locked door?
