Truth to Power Brainstorm & Notes

Truth to Power
Premise: What if there had been more to Lily Potter than anyone ever knew? What if she had actually been the Greek goddess Demeter in disguise? Well, it would mean that Harry is actually a Demigod. Of course, we all know how much the Fates like to make the lives of Demigods ‘interesting’, don’t we?
Required Inclusions:
- Harry Potter must actually be the Demigod son of Lady Demeter, the Greek goddess of harvests and bounty, who decided to incarnate herself as Lily Evans for a vacation.
- Demeter must be unable to raise her son due to the fact that her duties on the Olympian Council resumed the instant that her incarnated essence slipped off the mortal coil.
- Harry’s quasi-divine status must make it impossible for him to become an accidental Horcrux, and Demeter must make better arrangements for his upbringing than Dumbledore had in mind.
- Harry must eventually begin pursuing the life of an independent superhero, meaning that he will not be associated with the Justice League or one of its Junior Hero groups.
- Harry and Neville Longbottom must form a bond with each other over their shared talent for Herbology, with the latter eventually replacing Ron Weasley as Harry’s Best Mate.
- There must be a number of things which Go Bump in the Night that would love to get their hands on a young Demigod for any number of reasons.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry should have the ability to replicate the Wood Style techniques from Naruto, using that power to craft a wide variety of arms and armour for himself.
- Harry should end up in a romantic pairing with at least one of the following: Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Batgirl (Stephanie Brown), Artemis Agrotera, Daphne Greengrass and/or Tracey Davis.
- Harry should use a replica of Mokuton Hijutsu: Jukai Kōtan on the area surrounding Arkham Asylum, making it far more difficult for the asylum’s patients to escape from the institution.
Optional Inclusions:
- The Floo Network could act as a continuous stream of offerings to the local Goddess of the Hearth in each region, with Hestia accepting the offerings for areas without a Hearth Goddess.
- Harry could unleash an offensive version of Mokuton Hijutsu: Jukai Kōtan on the Joker.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry becoming romantically involved with a male.
- Harry or his girls joining a villainous organization.
- Harry the Malevolent Emo Doormat.

Premise: Harry always thought he was a normal human wizard, but the truth was farther away than that. In reality, he was a New God with an even greater destiny than those silly wand-wavers could ever imagine!
Required Inclusions:
- Harry must be in, or approaching, his third, fourth, fifth or sixth years at Hogwarts when he discovers her otherworldly heritage. How this happens is up to the author.
- The worlds of New Genesis and Apokolips must possess abilities which so greatly resemble magic as to be utterly indistinguishable; this of course assumes that it actually isn’t magic.
- Although he is not a human, Harry must so closely resemble the inhabitants of Earth that he can easily walk among them without causing a commotion.
- Harry’s body must be composed of Corporeal Quintessence, among other things, meaning that it would be impossible for one of Voldemort’s Horcruxes to gain a foothold in his soul.
- Harry must be the result of a union between the New God known as Lylia (aka Lily Evans) and the human wizard known as James Potter, meaning that he is actually a “New Demigod.”
- One trusted friend of Harry’s mother must be on hand to help him as he works through the discovery of his heritage and finding a place within the pantheon he originates from.
- The Potter family vault must contain a relic from either New Genesis or Apokolips (depending on Lylia’s world of origin) that will serve as a connection between Harry and his mother.
- Harry must eventually get his hands on either a Mother or Father Box (again, depending on Lylia’s world of origin) and use it to travel to his mother’s homeworld.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry should possess the divine ability to bend energy to his own whims, allowing him to manipulate the energy attacks of other characters to suit his own purposes.
- In addition to the ability to bend energy to his own whims, Harry should also possess the ability to generate and bend energy into a variety of different forms, giving him his own offensive suite.
- Lylia should actually be the daughter of Izaya, the Highfather of New Genesis, which means that Harry effectively inherited his mother’s position within the Genesisian Royal Court.
- Harry should eventually become involved with the other heroes of the DC Comics universe, with his primary romantic interest coming from said universe.

- Dolores Umbridge could actually be a disguise worn by the Apokoliptian known as Granny Goodness, which means she would actually be a credible threat.

The Noble and Most Ancient House of Le Fay
Premise: Morgan Le Fay was the epitome of a self serving witch… Or she was, until her latest attempt to escape the consequences of her actions backfired in a bizarre way. It’s said that parenthood radically changes a person. That saying has never been more true than when Morgan encountered the son she thought she lost on a particularly fateful Halloween night.
Required Inclusions:
- In an attempt to escape from her pursuers after one of her schemes failed spectacularly, Morgan Le Fay must bodyjack a British girl with great magical potential known as Lily Evans.
- Morgan must decide to continue the bond after Lily’s Hogwarts letter arrives, in spite of the dangers it posed to her own soul, in order to see how Hogwarts fared in the modern age.
- What Morgan didn’t take into account, was the great potential for love in her host’s soul. It was so great, so powerful, that it reawakened Morgan’s own capacity for love and maternal instincts.
- While Morgan is more powerful than Voldemort, even as Lily, she’s unable to use her full power in front of Harry without risking his life. This is why she opted to sacrifice her life for his.
- What Morgan didn’t expect was to see her bond with Lily severed by the Killing Curse. This allowed Morgan to live, since Lily was killed in her place.
- Harry must already be living with the Dursley’s by the time Morgan recovers, making it impossible for her to confirm his survival, leading to her belief that he died with his father.
- Accidental necromancy must be impossible, meaning that Harry is most definitely not an accidental Horcrux, even if Dumbledore might still mistake him for such.
- Harry & Morgan must immediately recognize each other as kin when they finally meet, even if Morgan doesn’t look anything like Lily, with Morgan’s emotions being completely overwhelmed.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry should inherit both his temper and his “Saving People Thing” from Morgan’s side of his three-way family, since those are qualities possessed by Morgan and her brother.
- Morgan should express derision in regards to the three Unforgivable Curses, seeing them as Dark Charms that are fit only for lazy and impatient spellcasters.
- Harry should inherit a strong affinity for water-based magic from his mother, allowing him to manipulate the element in a variety of ways, including the generation of Hard Water Constructs.
- Morgan should craft an artefact with potent healing powers, similar to those possessed by Excalibur’s scabbard, that she will then give to Harry so that he is better protected from harm.
Optional Inclusions:
- Harry could be surprisingly good at politics when he actually makes the effort to play the Game, leading to his acquisition of a harem composed of several politically minded women.
- Harry could inherit his mother’s ability to use magic without the assistance of a wand, allowing him to easily bypass the Ministry’s sensors while underage provided that he’s discreet about it.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry following along with Dumbledore’s plan for “The Greater Good.”
- Harry being coerced into joining a heroic or villainous team.

Complications
- Infamy: Morgan once used the Darkhold in an attempt to thwart the inevitable conversion of Great Britain to Pauline Christianity. This is such a well known incident that the citizens of Magical Britain still consider her to be the most vile Dark Witch to have ever lived.
- Motivation: Acceptance: Morgan would like nothing better than to be accepted as a valuable part of magical society in spite of her dark and troubling history. This is probably due to the fact that her soul has been irrevocably altered by Lily's.

Complications
- Girl From Out of Time: Rachel is from an alternate future where the original Phoenix survived the incident on the moon at the cost of Senator Kelly's life. In that reality, she was the daughter of the Phoenix and Scott Summers. When the Sentinels took over her reality, Rachel was sent into the past in hopes that she could repair the damaged timeline. The world she found however, bore several distinct differences from the one she was familiar with... such as the existence of an entire hidden society of magic users.
- Marked: Rachel's very DNA has been branded with a Shi'ar Deathmark, which means that she'll be pursued by the Shi'ar Empire's Death Commandoes until the day she dies. She's also been branded with the facial markings of the mutant hunters known as Hounds.
- Motivation: Responsibility: Rachel was sent back in time in order to prevent an Anti-Mutant Holocaust, and is now actively trying to help Charles Xavier create a world where mutants and mundane humans can coexist in peace and harmony.
- Power Loss: Rachel will occasionally burn out her powers, which means she'll become Powerless until the end of the Scene in which this complication is triggered.
- Relationships: While she's not from this reality, the local Scott Summers does recognize her as his daughter, and that recognition will be shared by the local Jean Grey when she eventually returns to life. She also considers Scott's son with Madelyn Pryor to be her brother due to the fact that Maddie is Jean's clone.
- Weakness: Rachel regularly finds herself being baffled by magic and magical phenomena. This is something which extends to her powers, which are considered to be Disabled against magical individuals and relics. Furthermore, she has a Will Resistance of 6 when defending herself from magical or psionic mind control.

A Hazy Shade of Winter
Premise: During the 10th century CE, a strange man appeared in a small Hollow. From then on, the locals never needed to fear attack due to this man’s immense strength and magical might. Many centuries later, young Harry Potter is set to awaken a legacy of frost and ice the likes of which Midgard hasn’t seen since that strange man’s untimely demise.
Required Inclusions:
- Harry Potter must be descended from a Frost Giant on his father’s side of the family, with the Frost Giant in question having been none other than Godric Gryffindor.
- Harry’s latent Frost Giant genetics must spontaneously activate due to a confluence of events, transforming him into a Frost Giant/Wizard Hybrid (which I will be referring to as a "Rimesoul").
- Harry’s relationship to Loki must be no closer than 2nd cousins, even if Harry will be an object of extreme interest for the Norse God of Mischief.
- This story must include elements from Potterverse, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Marvel Animated Universe and the Marvel Comics Universe to make it into a unique reality.
- Harry must deal with his own unique supervillain(s), just like all of the other flagship heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Voldemort, while powerful, does not count for this requirement.
- To go with the last statement, this story must begin during the Battle of Hogwarts, with Voldemort’s final defeat being the event that makes Harry’s name as a Superhero.
Preferred Inclusions:
- The Deathly Hallows should have come from above the Asgardians and other deities, having been created either by Those Who Sit Above in Shadow, or Mistress Death herself.
- Harry should become involved in the drama surrounding Thor and Loki, at least in part because the Asgardians wish to keep an eye on the young Rimesoul.
- In addition to his powers as a Rimesoul, Harry should be a highly accomplished Charms Master who is also skilled in the practical application of Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Optional Inclusions:
- Harry’s romantic pairing should include at least one of the following: Amora, Darcy Lewis, Jennifer Walters, Gabrielle Delacour, Astoria Greengrass or a female member of the X-Men.
- Harry could make the decision to depose and replace Laufey as the ruler of Jotunheim.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry acting as the sidekick for one of the other heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- Harry continuing to use a wand after awakening his Jotunn heritage.

- Cautious: Amora doesn't like to take risks. She'll usually come up with at least three backup plans to complement her initial strategy before engaging anyone in battle. She'll also get very anxious and be rendered Vulnerable whenever her Eldritch Kiss fails to work on someone, or if she is forced to engage in battle without her usual strategic superiority.
- Motivation: Hedonism: Amora exults in being the center of another person's attention and will regularly seek out lovers who strike her fancy, and is fully willing to break the hearts of other women in order to satisfy her desires. However, if someone were to ever dominate her, she would become theirs in heart, soul and mind.
- Obsession: Amora seeks to dominate one of the rulers of the Nine Realms and become their lover.
- Reputation: Amora is known throughout the Nine Realms as a scheming and opportunistic seductress.
- Significant Other: Amora's most constant ally is Skurge, the Executioner of Asgard. Little does she realize that Skurge is absolutely besotted with her.

Legends Never Die Brainstorm & Notes

Legends Never Die
Premise: There had always been a perfectly logical reason why Harry Potter could survive so many near death encounters over the years. He used to wonder what that reason might be, but then he united the Deathly Hallows and survived being hit with the Killing Curse for a second time.
Required Inclusions:
- Harry Potter must actually be the reincarnation of the Celtic deity known as Manannan Mac Lir, having been born with both the Irish sea god’s divine core and a mortal’s magical core.
- Manannan must have used his powers as the ‘god who guards the river of the afterlife’ to ensure that he would be reborn after the Christian Invaders of Ireland killed him in c. 442 AD.
- Harry must finally discover his divine origins after he is struck by the Killing Curse for the second time in his life during the Battle of Hogwarts.
- Harry’s apotheosis must be gradual and take years to complete due to his subconscious desire to avoid losing himself to the transformation.
Harry’s constitution must jump straight from that of a Magical Human all the way up to a Super Atlantean in a matter of days.
- Harry must eventually become romantically involved with a woman who will ultimately become his Queen Consort and rule alongside him in the Realm of Tir na nOg.
- Harry must possess the powers of Hydrokinesis, Spirit Manipulation and the other abilities you’d normally expect from an Atlantean / Human Hybrid.
- Harry must eventually reclaim the armor and weapons associated with Manannan Mac Lir, meaning that he will have access to Fragarach, the Gouging Sword of the War God.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry should become romantically involved with multiple girls, provided that each of these girls gains the approval of the woman who will become his Queen.
- One of the girls who should become involved with Harry should be Nuada Airgetlám from the Atlantean City of Thierna na Oge, with the woman being a good acquaintance of Queen Mera.
- Harry and Arthur should form a proper alliance between their peoples, with Queen Nuada also signing the agreement, forming a three way alliance between several aquatic nations.
- Harry’s divine powers could allow him to extend the Blessings of the Sea onto those who would ordinarily be unable to survive underwater, giving them the ability to inhabit the sea.
Optional Inclusions:
- The woman who will ultimately become Harry’s Queen Consort could actually be a Mermaid with the ability to transform her tail into proper legs so that she can move about on land.
- Harry’s ability to speak Parseltongue could evolve to the point where it extends to all forms of sea life, including the creatures commonly referred to as Sea Serpents.

- Harry continuing his romance with Ginny.
- Harry the Malevolent Emo Doormat.
