Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

Holy shit DC did it..... DC cut ties with Diamond entirely. I mean it's a dollar short & a day late & by a day I mean like 10 years to late, but it's nice to see someone finally pulled the plug. It'll be fun to see if DC & Marvel can save its self or if this is it, but given how many com...

Re: Ronin Army Forums Shut Down For Good

To my mind, RPG.net has basically shown itself incapable of actually moderating their forums in an unbiased manner. LOL isn't that the equivalent of saying: "To my mind, water has basically shown itself incapable of not being wet." I mean being wet is the defining feature of water: Dogs b...

Re: Modern Comics & Relationships Between Heroes

That was a criticism of the Suicide Squad movie, too, where they're declaring that the group is a "Family" after like an hour's work. That one wasn't a gendered issue, though. Similar issue that the Mighty Morphin' Shazaming Rangers had, but in it's case the movie straight up had characte...

Ahh but is it more or less stupid then turning the Marvel Family in to the Power Rangers?

Re: Wonder Man

https://comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/8/80111/2741256-wonderman1.jpg Love love love. I've always loved the 90's Wonder Man comic. I'd never call it a good comic, but I will always say it's a fun comic. It's on my list of books I wish marvel would give the Complete Collection once over,...

Re: Modern Comics & Relationships Between Heroes

I was reading through the complete Civil War the other day and the relationship between Storm and Black Panther seemed so forced. Didn't they do something similar in Civil war 2, where they invented a relationship between Carol & Warmachine, just to give it faux gravity when they killed him off...

Re: Modern Comics & Relationships Between Heroes

Since Ares cast "raise dead" on this thread, i'll give my 2 cents worth. The most annoying trend in comic book relationships isn't the sexual ones, it's that annoying trend writers have in which they over compensate for the fact that women don't really get along with each other in the real...

Re: Arkrite's Odd(s and Ends)

I get bored, I go check out netflix. This guy? He got bored, tried to become a bird watcher. Then those darn squirrels started eating the seeds. So he started trying to prevent them from getting the seeds. Eventually it just turned into a challenge to see if he could make something that they couldn...

Re: BBC:What if Hillary Clinton had become president?

Sci-fi master William Gibson's novel Agency is set partly in a world where Hillary is president and Brexit never happened. To be fair most mainstream media accounts already read like they are written by science fiction authors, writing about an alternate reality. Sure as heck the mainstream media i...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Red Guardians! Vanguard! Darkstar! Crimson Dynamo!)

And I thought the DC comics Red Rocket had some bad luck with pilots. As far as I can remember, I only ever seen three Dynamos in action (Vanko, Bukharin and Shatalov) and I always assumed that the armor had at most five or six pilots, just like the Iron Man armor was temporarily piloted by other p...

LOL, irony abound. I just finished doing a Russian superhero thing, writing an event day module for later in the year, set in Siberia, with The Protectorate (my settings equivalent of the Winterguard).

Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

So I just did a speed read of the Jonathan Hickman Avengers series. It's like he's constantly trying to out-convolute himself. That's because Hickman cannot write superheroes, like at a fundamental level he simply doesn't understand the concept. At his core he's a science fiction writer with a writ...

Re: What's new with the big two: Marvel and DC Comics discussion thread.

(Don't bother to tell me-I've had extensive experience with corporate executive morons, including the lot who managed to drive a century old company into liquidation 18 months after they acquired it). Actually there was a great video I watched last week about that exact topic, how when a company be...

Upside is we at least have the Star Girl tv show to look forward to.

Here's hoping Berlanti doesn't Berlanti it to badly.

So a DC 5G update. Sounds like it might be dead, according to bleeding cool.
