Re: Halt Evil Doer backups?

I should note that I moved over to be a professional author in 2015 and the funny thing about it is that my (by far) best-selling book series is the SUPERVILLAINY SAGA that is heavily based on the Halt Evil Doer! universe. They're two distinct universes but I drew a bunch of my work there for the ch...

Re: The Mightyverse

An utterly fantastic set of update for the Mightyverse! I have to give you real kudos for what you've done with the Freedom League and updating them to 2021. I am very impressed with the fate of Captain Thunder's son, Mar Ann, and Star Knight. Lots of fascinating stuff happening there. Lady Liberty'...

Re: An Alternate Deadlands Setting

That would explain it. Thanks for that. I think the biggest problems with the two Back East books were that they didn't really have a "hook" to hang that part of the setting on, the way the Weird West had "Spaghetti Western with Zombies" going for it. In hindsight, maybe they sh...

Re: An Alternate Deadlands Setting

One of those is why they never bothered to do the obvious money making choice to do something that gave players at least some idea of what was going on in Europe. Because if you have a steampunk/weird horror game in the 19th century, it seems like a no brainer to make stuff like Sherlock Holmes, Ja...

Re: An Alternate Deadlands Setting

As a newcomer to Deadlands, I will happily state this is a fantastic setting and I am very grateful that you shared your ideas. I'm currently running my first game in a fictional Arizona town called El Dorado (after the John Wayne movie).

Re: Cthulhu Armageddon - The Weird West in a Post-Apocalypse World

Setting The Esoteric East ("The New England Wasteland") The Esoteric East consists of the North East of the former United States and parts of Southern Canada. It is a vast desert that is crisscrossed with small towns, villages, and the occasional city that has managed to emerge in the Ris...

Re: Cthulhu Armageddon - The Weird West in a Post-Apocalypse World

Timeline Pre-Earth History Human history is similar but different. Long before Earth, the universe was created by Azathoth the Blind Idiot God, who was there alongside Yog-Sothoth, and the Other Gods. Incarnations of physics and the universe's laws, they transcended human understanding or even alie...

Here's my article! http://unitedfederationofcharles.blogspot.com/2021/06/worldbuilding-5-cthulhu-armageddon.html PART 1: How Cthulhu Armageddon came to be Cthulhu Armageddon is a special case of world-building because it's not completely my world. Instead, it is an adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's cos...

Re: "Women in Refrigerators "? I don't think it exists.

Women and Refrigerators isn't meant to be an example of 100% straight purity of fact but a sense that female characters were less valued than male characters and often used as emotional fodder. Rather than list them all, let me point out that Supergirl and Batgirl are two of the most famous superher...

Re: Vampire: The Masquerade: Winter's Teeth

Good for humanity! I don't expect Humans to be able to win in a straight Monster-vs-Mortal fight( that's not what that Reality is about after all ), but i least expect us to go out swinging... I'd argue that any conflict always favors humanity. After all, humans can live without vampires. Vampires ...

Re: Vampire: The Masquerade: Winter's Teeth

Anyone reading this comic by Tim Seeley, Blake Howard, and Tini Howard? Yes, it's a fascinating read. The deconstruction of the 'I only kill the wicked' trope in issue 2 was really well-done. Mind you, absent, "You could have just told me and not murdered a guy." Also, my PCs would like, ...
