Following Long's lead, Koral will be on the lookout for Merge Tech and not just comments that are made to have people sound like players. The comment about a cure for the T-Virus gets his attention though.

You can see the guards, all of them wearing black-painted Spartan power armor, even inside, eyeing both the many different visitors as well as the surroundings with equal wariness.
Morgan does notice a few people who radiate with the Dark Side - a cadaverous man with pale skin, red-green eyes and black robes as well as a trio of pale-skinned beautiful women in revealing robes and masks...but their radiance in the Force is...tainted with something even worse.

Also, you all notice several weapons of either ultra-tech or arcane origin as well as some people being augmented with implants...among those several red-robed people cybernetically augmented to a ridiculous degree.
The courtroom is, this close before an auction, filled with ordered chaos as everyone tries to find their seat and settle in - and there is definitely something morbidly funny about a 12-feet-tall undead-giant-looking thing trying to find a seat that'll hold their weight...

Hal will claim a numbered bid-card giving the falsified Sunsetters contact information. They would likely have a runner go back to 'normal' Earth to verify identifications. He claims a seat near the back asking his companions to go to either side so they had multiple profiles on the bidders staying connected over the comms. They were looking for aggressive bidders.

Torque would have been awesome to get information on the bidders from the computer network the auctioneers have no doubt set up here. This team would have to look for another way, maybe stealing one of the computers.

More and more people are filing in and most of them are actually human or at least close to, although many of them are dressed in ways that would have raised quite a few eyebrows before the Merge.

There is chatter all over the place but eventually, a hush comes over the crowd as a man gets up on the stage. He looks unassuming - mid-20s, dark hair, combed back carefully, a suit that looks stylish but not outrageous or extremely expensive.

" Ladies, Gentlemen, Others....welcome to our little auction. I hope you have brought enough money because we certainly have brought more than enough to incite your interest. Want your bodyguards to have that special something that'll make sure they can do their job in this day and age? Want to build your own private army? Do you want to wage war? Or do you simply want to enhance yourself, to surpass baseline humanity? We got you covered!"

The girl studies everything, including the MC carefully, hoping that if the equipment fails, then her memory could be picked apart by telepaths when they got back. It wasn't perfect, but it would have to do.

Koral doesn't acknowledge outwardly anyone or anything. Instead, he simply looks around. Using his enhanced senses, the Jedi opens himself carefully to the Force. Teachings of Master Shan - although she had refused the title - sprang to mind, as well as several snippets of Yoda's wisdom from the various movies and animated series. They were outnumbered here, but their goal was not to fight. They needed to be smart - to out think their opponents. To find their true adversaries.

Familiar? Not in the way someone you had seen in person would be...but you might be able to make out some creatures and people you know from other sources...

((Which means everyone can make an expertise (pop culture) or similar check.

The Jedi fails to recognize anyone directly, apart from the obvious racial or extraplanar creature. He could tell elves apart from orcs, not couldn't tell the difference between a Tolkien Elf vs a Faerunian Elf.

However, he makes up for that fact to some extent by being nondescript.

Aislynn can see several drow, three Dark Eldar from the Warhammer 40K universe, a lich and one demon-possessed human, if the black eyes are any indication. In addition to the numerous other creatures who are more difficult to sort.

Interestingly, it appears as if those people willing to acquire something are required to appear in person, as you see little to no servant creatures. Maybe a rule of this auction?

As for what is being bid on, here is a sample list:

A self-replicating nanoswarm that can augment a human subject with implants - apparently a controllable version of the Borg nanomachines.
A vial of the G-Virus.
A retrovirus capable of turning a human into a Deep One Hybrid.
Daemon-possessed power armor that permanently bonds with the unfortunate wearer.
A canister of a solution made by an organisation named " Cauldron" - which did not translate over - capable of reliably turning humans into Level 8-10 superhumans.
Samples of Lex Luthor's " Everyman Project", capable of granting up to level 11 powers.
Clones of the genetically modified spider that was responsible for the creation of Spider-Man in at least one universe.
Space Marine geneseed.
Blueprints detailing the creation of a being capable of moving beyond linear time.
Blueprints and process descriptions that can turn a human infant into a darkly enlightened human capable of rending and reorganizing matter by thought.
A coffin-like box capable of transforming a human into a Cenobite demon if charged with enough arcane energy.
Fleshwarping cauldrons.
Warpstone.
