Giving a nod of understanding at Curare's words,RD replied to Cat Noir's comments by saying cheekily

Maggie looks up to both Tsalmaveth and Snowblind. "I think we all did good. Great job, guys." Maggie offers with a smile. Yeah, did you see how shadowbutt here opened up the Greek wench like he was about to make gyros and she was the pita? That was wicked sick! Though if you guys start singing hymns to peace, love, and togetherness I'm going to kum-bi-yuck up all over this plane.

Snowblind
HP: 0; Condition: Cold tired

Jen shuddered again as she took her trip through the dark places with Tsalmaveth the way the darkness seemed to breath around her like some living thing just creeped her right the frack out. Still she was too tired to make a fuss and once inside she settled into a lotus position with her back to a wall and her hand resting on Grendels forehead. She felt the beasts core temperature rising and could see his temperature going up as clearly as most people saw colors.

Taking a deep breath and focusing her powers she regulated the temperatures and saw Grendels core temp drop down into cold sleep levels again. She sighed with the effort a little but maintained it insuring he would remain asleep all the way back. Afterwards she would most likely pass out entirely.

She gave Maggie an easy though exhausted grin but was a little too focused to do more then smile warmly in response.

Everyone:

A few minutes later the transport arrives overhead, and several lines are quickly lowered down. Interestingly enough, connected to them are several harnesses. Madame Curare snorts in what must pass for her idea of amusement. "It seems that we're getting the fast and dirty lift out of here." As she speaks the immortal assassin makes her way to one of the harnesses and begins putting it on, leading by example apparently. The lift up is, not surprisingly, jarring at first but shockingly smooth once the lift off is done. As soon as everyone is on-board the aircraft begins the journey back "home".

There is only one stop along the way, in the middle of nowhere from what any of you can tell given the fact it is the middle of the night and is such a cloudy, moonless night that it is difficult to make out any kind of details of the surroundings. Plus the fact that you're told to stay in the vehicle while a quartet of scientists come aboard carrying a large device that they quickly attach to Grendel before loading up onto a grav-stretcher and take him out of sight. While that was done, the air craft was refueled for the rest of its travel so once Grendel and his new keepers were clear it lifted into the air nearly silent.

Hours later you arrive back at where the sun has been rising to greet you as you make out the outline of the building you were brought to earlier in the night. Upon landing you're greeted with a different than before - you find Wainwright waiting for you on the landing pad. Upon your exit from the aircraft she greets the group as a whole. "Welcome back, nice to see everyone came bac in one piece. Head through the door behind me, go down the hall and hit the showers. I'm sure all of you could use one at this point. We'll talk after that."

As you walk down the hall you find that there are only a few doors, only two are labeled - Men's Showers and Women's Showers. Your intended destination. Surprisingly the showers aren't group style, but instead have partition walls allowing a level of privacy you've not had in a while. Now you've each got a few moments peace to yourself while enjoying as hot a shower as you want. Once done with that you discover there is a locker room attached to the shower area (and it leads to the toliets set on the other side of the locker area) where you each find a locker with your name written on a large strip of tape, inside which are a set of sweats (shirt and pants, gray in color). Seeing as how you have no other clothing options, as your costumes and equipment have been collected while you were in the showers, and you honestly doubt Wainwright is a supporter of naturalism (or as they're otherwise known - nudists) you put them on and find they are the correct size at least.

Upon exiting the shower you find Wainwright waiting and once everyone is present she leads you back to the conference room where you find the tables now covered with pads of paper and pencils. "Each of you will need to submit a written sumation of what transpired in the field. Don't worry about spelling, grammar, or language, what you write will be transcribed by a professional who will take care of such things. Once we're done food will be brought in as I'm sure most of you are hungry after the work you've done and the time since you're last meal."

OOC wrote:So yeah, like Wainwright said - a small bit for everyone to put down from their perspective. And of course feel free to RP your hearts out here amongst yourselves or with Wainwright.

She knew when they came to collect her suit and the metal she'd salvaged from the forest and the fight.
No dangit! those were mine!
She'd arranged the diamond-tipped spear from Orion as best she could but she couldn't actually put it together without the expert knowledge.
With that we could've done so much! Spin it fast enough and saw through whatever Plexiglass cage they put us in. Ooh, saw through bone in seconds! You want to be a nurse, right? Shouldn't you get a refresher on how all the organs are arranged? First hand?! Maybe see how much rearranging they can take before they stop working right?
She'd even left the pieces of the Aegis rifle out there. Let them see that we knew they weren't telling us everything and that we still performed excellently.
Yeah, I'm a Bad Guy and even *I* knew that was a D!C% move, Wainwright!
Little of that mattered. They trusted her! They'd really trusted her. She couldn't recall when last she'd been in a shower with metal pipes in the walls! Copper and Galvanized Steel if she was any judge no Pex or PVC anywhere. And OhMyGosh! the galvanized steel was starting to rust and minute flakes of it would come off in the rush of water and they'd hum against her skin, a veritable cascade of tingles rained over her as metal flecks outlined her body. Not just hers but everyone's, outlining figures as clear as day, (though she was too polite to invade people's privacy like that). Hubba hubba! What kind of gas gave you THAT!

Maggie laughed with the joy of it... She laughed... The. Whole. Time.

Sometimes it was titters or giggles. Sometimes it was full bellied gales of laughter that cramped her belly and maybe prompted others to quiet her [which she did, with an apology, her mirth dying down to quiet chuckles only to swell and grow like a clown's long balloon before it was formed into a duck or dog or sword (for the unimaginative clowns)].

She was still laughing in fits and spurts as she dried herself off with the fluffy towels, another luxury. It was a couple of them that preserved her modesty as she dressed in the sweats and went out.

It was a serious smile that was on her face as she grabbed a wooden pencil and sat away from the others to start writing.

Condition-Bruised HP-1?
Alex sighed as he felt the hot Water hit him like tiny prics on the skin. While he was unhappy at not being told the whole truth(what would he have honestly expected from Uncle Sam,Honesty?!),he personally thought they worked suprisingly well together. As he let the hot water hit the particular bruise Black Arrow gave him,he thought back to Medea's last comment...
"We are leaving the brute! If Stratos wants him so damn badly let him collect him!"
Why would someone like Dr.Stratos be intrested in what Grendel had locked up in his head? the man's whole M.O. involves either the weather or Revenge on Thunder..

It's these thought's that plague his head as he sit's down to write his report.he decided to start by quoting Ernest..
"Before you Talk-Listen.
Before you react-Think.
Before you spend-Earn.
Before you critise-Wait.
Before you pray-Forgive.
Before you quit-Try.
"....
Now,his writing was never very good(his Writing Professor one time likened it to Cave drawings) so he got down straight to the point. He started with the Star of the show, praising Violet(he refused to call her Magneta on general principal) for her calm under pressure and doing what she could without alerting Grendel(he had some rather choice words about what "Dr." Harris did to her mind.).He also praised the actions of Oni,Madam Curare,Snowblind,Tsvalmeth(Alex wasn't sure if he spelled that right) and suprisingly enough Geotek. While he admitted what he did was a Stupid choice,he applauded the Man's good nature. He finished it off by stating that Stratos was after Grendel and would more than likely try again in the near future...

After finishing up the Report Wainwright asked for, Alex wrote another page on how he personally thought on what Harris did(with the Intresting heading of "The Nature of Personal Agency"...).Uncramping his hand(he hadn't wrote that much since College),the young Revolutionary turned to Snowblind and Maggie and said
"Reports coming along ok ladies? If you need a hand, just ask..."

Nathan is quiet on the trip back. Not exactly ignoring the others on aircraft with him, but silently distancing himself from them. He is nothing like them. With the possible exception of Maggie - who he hasn't quite figured out - everyone else here is a criminal, and most of them revel in it.

He is not.

He didn't dig the hole he is in, but someone gave him a rope to get out of it. And it meant working with them. But he refused to become them.

There was a quiet calm about it. They were dangerous, many of them would prefer to see him dead, and his life would depend on their actions. But at least he had some control over his future. And that made him feel powerful. For once.

He kind of hoped the moron with the sword tried something so he could see the tattoos in action. If nothing else, the look on his face when Nathan presented his sword back to him twisted into a heart shape would be priceless.

And of course there was the other moron, Gassey. He wondered what totally effed up childhood he had to so emotionally stunt him as to act like a fourth grader with a crush.

Arriving at the isolated base in the dawn made for an interesting experience. He had usually been debriefed on the spot telepathically and let on his own for hours. Depending on the specific commands - usually thoughtless given - he might be stuck standing their in his armor for hours. So being told to shower first was refreshing.

He let the hot water pound on his body for a long period. His armor was good, but he always ended up sweaty and dirty after any amount of time in it. Having a semi-private shower was a huge improvement over the prison. And before that, nothing was private.

He had often discussed with Dr Silva about the extreme measures of control PSI had performed on him. None of the other agents, as far as he could tell, were so affected. Dr Silva insisted it was required for Nathan because he was such a good person at heart, PSI could not appeal to his darker motivations as they did with their usual recruits.

As he gets out of the shower and begins to dry off, it occurs to Nathan the other reason they were sent to the shower. They wanted to collect the group's gear. With an approving nod, Nathan finds his locker and gets dressed.

He heads into the conference room and grabs some paper and pencil as directed and stares at it.

Cat Noir (Felicity Black)
Image
Condition: Healthy
HP: 4 ~ Luck: 4

Felicity did her best to doze on the trip back, legs tucked up to her chest arms hugged around them and head bowed, resting her forehead on her knees. Hard when the whirlybird had absolutely no compassion for the weary and almost seemed to work harder to make more noise, rending any snippets of sleep all but impossible for the cat burglar. But she was so exhausted....all the coffee in America wasn't going to fix it....especially since she had access to none of it, even to steal. Dragged out of bed in the middle of the night, branded with some kind of tattoo that would make her explode or something if she tried to escape (That being the most likely thing to cause the tattoo to trigger given her more typical leanings to avoid violence), dropped in the middle of a forest to track down and recover a guy-turned-huge-monster and fighting a rival group trying to recover the same guy.... that was a LOT for one night and it was rightly catching up.

Once they were shown to the showers, Cat enjoys the shower the best she can, leaning against the stall wall and closing her eyes. She tries to push back the exhaustion while the water rinses away the forest dirt and sweat while her outfit and weapons are removed unbeknownst to her, replaced with a towel to dry off and cover her long enough to get to the sweats in the locker. At least these were an upgrade from the prison uniforms, or maybe that was the lack of sleep talking.

As soon as she sat down and was told to summarize what had happened, Cat finally had to start thinking about the situation again. With a sigh, the cat burglar looks around at the others in the group with some consideration. Curare and Oni were dangerous. With a capital "murderous". Red was his own brand of dangerous between his seemingly zealous mentality and those gas concoctions. Similarly, Magenta with whatever conditioning they'd put her through.. she'd heard of Maggie's old persona who belonged right up there with the assassin and the swordsman...who could know what would happen if that conditioning ever broke. Snowy and Speedy she felt she could get along with in a girl's night out sort of scenario, granted, she knew nothing really about their reasons for being imprisoned...still, they seemed decent enough compared to others in the group and among the least likely to shank her in the back.

Speaking of which, there was the power armor guy. Apparently, he'd saved Medea's life from a lethal attack inflicted by someone. He couldn't be all bad if he'd done something like that, unless he'd had some ulterior motive. Still...he seemed different from the others in a way similar to how Felicity herself was different. While she revelled in her thievery and pushing her luck, she avoided hurting people, preferring to escape to conflict. She was about as far from a cold-blooded murderer as a criminal could be. Despite the man's hard and apparently antisocial exterior, he seemed the one she'd most likely attach herself to, given he seemed likely to share some of her philosophies, at least as far as harming others went.

And lastly was the shady guy. She wasn't too sure what to make of him. She hadn't seen much of him in action but knew he could do that creepy melding into shadows teleporting thing. She knew nothing about his criminal career, or that he'd been the one to inflict the potentially mortal wound on Medea that Nathan had saved her from. Still, among criminals, Cat knew it was best to be cautious about what you didn't know so it didn't sneak up on you.

On the paper summary of events, the way she writes it out is almost like a heist plot in reverse, aside from some bitterness in the intro about being dragged out of bed. Each line is fairly succinct without too much explatives or over-detailing. "Dragged out of bed in the middle of the effing night. Painful magic tattoo thing branded to make us explode or something if we don't play nice. Dropped off in the woods. Located trail towards the mark. Encountered the mark and proceeded to calm and impair. Opposition appears also looking to procure the mark. Negotiation breaks down, combat ensues. Mark remains passive while the opposition is battled and driven off. Mark sedated via cold sleep. Picked up and transported back."

Cat kind of flicks the pencil down once she's done and leans back with her eyes closed...seriously contemplating whether she wants food or sleep more right now. The pencil she flicked down happens to land awkwardly and snaps, despite the small force Cat exerted.

Oni

And so it was all over. Being lifted into the cold air of the mountains was not all that bad, as Oni felt the wind in his face. "Like a bird" he thought. And inside one he went, one made by man, made of steel, fuelled by the processed corpses of dinosaurs. In that perspective the fact that a giant monster and a 500 year old man were travelling on it was uninteresting. The trip was uneventful, Oni simply sat there as when they were being transported the first time, back straightened, eyes closed, stiff like a monk. Not that he wasn't exhausted, he was. It was his way to push forth the fatigue, meditate.

The shower was strange, it felt weird. As always, these westerners did all different, all wrong in his eyes. Water falling like rain? Nonsense. He needed a basin. It didnt matter, it served its purpose.
The samurai was not surprised that they had removed his weapons, after all they were for the mission only.
When they were presented with paper and pencil, he began writing in ancient japanese, detailing the events and the combat in great detail. He actually made a haiku of how stupid he thought Nathan was, describing how he jeopardized the team by saving Medea's life, and went on arguing all the drawbacks of Natahn's reckless actions.
Once happy with the rhythm of it, he left the pencil to the side of the paper and crossed his arms around his chest, nodding to himself.

From the moment he had brought up the girls to the moment they finally touched down back at whatever black-ops site they were being stationed at, he slept. That last trick he pulled off was something he only thought he had the potential to pull off yet never really tried to put into practice. In his line of work, why would he ever want to resort to such an over the top and messy form of attack? It was much more suited for a combat scenario which required an incredible amount of circumstances to actually pull off. Seemed that Felicity's luck was starting to rub off on him, somehow.

Normally he would've shot some offhanded remark to the men who jabbed him with the butt of their guns to urge him awake and out of the carrier, but for once he just wasn't feeling it. There was something in the back of his mind that just wouldn't go away, it kept clouding his thoughts and blocking his concentration. A complete disruption to the cool nonchalance attitude he was trying to cultivate around the people he was apparently supposed to work with the for the foreseeable future.

No, instead he just walked in silence as they guided everyone to their respective commune showering areas. When he shrugged off his stained shirt, he heard a clatter as his blade fell out of a hidden sleeve. The force of the fall had caused it to snap partially open, and it was there he noticed that he hadn't actually completely wiped it off from his earlier assault. Black flakes had lifted off and speckled the ground underneath, the silver edge of the razor instead now stained the black of dried blood. With the knowledge of personal experience, he knew that it was going to be pain cleaning it out completely by this point.

Dave stared for longer then he cared to admit, until he finally shrugged off the rest of his clothes and left it in an undignified heap. The only thing he took with him were his sunglasses, and the elastic band he occasionally used to tie his hair back.

Numbing cold water washed over his body, entirely unmarred from his complete lack of direct confrontation with actual heroes or competent bodyguards. Judging by the way their first mission had went, it wouldn't be long until he'd finally have his flesh marred with something more permanent then a scratch. Maybe that was long overdo. A reminder of just how easily he could be killed in turn.

His hands gripped the wall, red rivets that flowed across his arms visible even through his waterlogged locks. It was hard to breath, for some reason he couldn't control his lungs. Looking down was his mistake, he saw a deep gash on his abdomen. The shock was as immense as the pain, his eyes widened as he witnessed everything leaking out. His hands flew to his chest in a vain effort to keep it all inside, staining his hands silver.

Yet with a blink, it was over. His hands padded his bare chest, finding no wounds, no injury. Everything was still in place.

He collapsed against the wall of his shower, and sat there for another ten minutes.

When the water was finally shut off, as they had evidently grown tired of simply waiting on everyone to finish on his own, he discovered that he was in fact the last one to dress up in the muted clothing provided. There wasn't even an attempt to look around for the items he had left behind, simply zipping up and joining the doubtlessly impatient group gathering just outside the showers, and followed along once their guide got moving.

'Target located, nonviolent tendency. Enemy team encountered at extraction point, 7 count. 1 fatal wound delivered, counteracted. Enemy team fled. Target immobilized, extraction proceeds without incident.'

Giving out mission reports like this wasn't a foreign concept to the ex-assassin. There were several contractors who insisted on summaries of the work he pulled off, it was from those he quickly learned that you tended to get paid more when you were actually being professional instead of writing out an essay long ramble about the hours spent waiting for an opportune moment to strike. Terse, straightforward, no bullshit logs were what they really wanted. If these people really expected him to write out his every thought, then they'd be better off contracting a telepath.

He pricked his finger with the sharp point of his pencil, reading to press a silver stained fingerprint right below the short paragraph of dialog. A sign of both his trust and own confidence that none of the people he worked for would try to rat him out. Something he realized only now, must've been the very reason his brother was able to lay that trap for him in the first place. Someone got a hold of one of his reports, and pulled his DNA out of it. Fucking hell. How could he have been so stupid?

Dave's expression darkened, and he clenched the pricked finger against his palm to help clot the wound. Not this time. Nobody was going to receive his mark again, especially not an organization that lied straight to their faces about the circumstances of their own mission.
Am I dead? Am I alive? The answer may surprise you!

Buzzbomb

By the time they were lifted back into the plane, Keyanna had already began to shut down- it was plain enough that the bars of their cage had closed once more, and the brief period of what would have to pass for freedom had ended. She slumped in her seat, not quite as boneless and limp as during their first trip, but still visibly as 'Off' as if a plug had been pulled. She spoke to no one, ignored most entreaties, responded to the orders of the guards as minimally as possible.

Back at base, she shuffled into the showers like an automaton, rinsed off, and dressed in the simple clothing that was provided. They were, for all intents and purposes, back in prison, and she had a routine for THAT. Without any active nullification, she had slipped deeper into her own mind, adjusting her perception of the passage of time, to make things somewhat more tolerable.

Once they were ushered into the conference room, she stared blankly at the pad and pencil in front of her. She was, after all, a high school drop-out, and one who had never had much of a gift or interest for academics- and well, to be honest, it hadn't been much of a school anyways, just another inner-city warehouse to keep some of the kids off the streets, for a while. And she certainly hadn't been any kind of scholar since, except in that most venerated of institutions, the School of Hard Knocks. She couldn't remember, at least not easily, the last time she had written anything by hand, other than signing her name on court-ordered paperwork.

After a while, seeing the others mostly hard at work, she leaned over and picked up the pencil. Very carefully she scrawled a broad 'X' across the entire empty page- then she pushed the pencil and paper back to the center of the table. As she leaned back in her chair, she glanced over at Wainwright- and saw the woman looking back at her in disapproval. With a sigh, she reached out and retrieved the paper and turned it over. In a childish-looking block print she laid out the basics of the mission- her grammar was appalling, her vocabulary limited, and the report (if it could even be called that) was dotted with expletives in both English and Spanish. But really, no one was going to do more than glance at her efforts, not when there were real professionals on the team, people who could write an accurate mission summary...

"Arimasen." Oni replied simply. "Magenta-dono can look at mine. I take pride in poetry." he said, sliding the paper towards Magenta. Despite the offer, the sheet was covered in ancient japanese Kanji, which Oni just then seemed to realize. "Uh... perhaps it would not be helpful... Senssen degozaru..." he muttered.
