YAHATA
HP: 0
"Do you think we could pull out a defense that would be a thing of legend? Otherwise, I fear there is little hope."
"No, we will be victorious," Yahata stated simply. His usual playful cockiness was gone; this was not just his overconfidence speaking, but instead a deep-seated conviction. This had to be it, the reason why he was here. He would prove his worth to Amaterasu here, and no one, least of all the mortal Imagawa, would change that. The demigod was pleased by Jin and Hama's conviction.

"Imagawa can go over the numbers all he likes. When he and his army fail, I'll be happy to personally tell him where he miscalculated."

The soldier keeps an easy hand on the hilt of her sword while sending a sharp look into the strategist's eyes. "Trust in the us as our lord did, we will keep this city safe. Imagawa thinks that without our lord we are nothing, but we shall prove him wrong."
Am I dead? Am I alive? The answer may surprise you!

The strategy room

Post by Camus »

Visibly pleased by your courage and determination, the Tiger of Owari praises you. "Indeed my son has a very good eye for retainers!" he says, looking at his other offspring, some of whom dont look very happy about his words. "Our forces are at your command, take a seat and lets discuss strategy." he says sitting behind the table. The other strategists stand up and bow, before walking past you. Kuro can see on the edge of his vision as the one named Nobuyuki looks back at you all with hatred in his eyes. It is so evident you could almost feel it empowering your very essence of darkness.
On the table are arranged maps and tables with details on the current Owari fortress soldiers available and also weaponry and siege equipment.
"Which should be our first priority? Set the perimeter defence? Send out scouts?"

Beaming slightly at the praise heaped by The Tiger, Akihito noticed Kuro looking at Nobuyuki as he briefly passed.Getting a bad feeling in his gut,The former Yakuza whispered quietly to the Demon(so the other's wouldn't hear him)
"Kuroi,i need you to follow Nobuyuki.Stay out of sight, preferably by being above him,for now i wonder how much he might hate us and am worried at how far he MIGHT go just to spite us..."

"I will leave you strategists to it. I shall prepare folk who may wish to leave for an evacuation and get those that stay to set up places for the wounded." Soyokaze says.

Kuro bowed again, this time to all gathered. "I leave you to do what you to your expertise while I tend to mine. I will be there when you need me."

With that, the yokai exited the chambers, becoming incorporeal once outside. Akihito was right to be suspicious of Oda Nobuyuki and he intended to shadow the man to get to the truth of the matter.

Though she was certainly honored to be invited to partake in the grand strategic defense planning, she couldn't help but feel a little annoyed already. Her skills were much better suited for making on the edge decisions on the battlefield, not sitting down in a stuffy room weighing the lives of her comrades. Yet to leave now without any proper excuse would be an insult, thus she sat down and took stock of what they had available.
Expertise: Military; 12 Wow, glad I chose to assist instead of trying to take it on myself. +2 to our lead tactician, probably Yahata.

"Scouts," Yahata answered decisively. "Any defenses we prepare might well be useless if we don't know the enemy. Akihito could lead a scouting party; his senses are sharp and his horse... has four legs. We will also want to send word to any allies of the Oda clan whom can come to our aid."

The demigod pulled a map to the top, considering the lay of the land and hoping for a nearby, large source of water. Given enough time, Hama might be able to use her powers to shape their surroundings to their advantage. If she could flood the main paths leading to Owari, the enemy might be forced to go through the forest, where they could enjoy the spirits' company.
Here's hoping I don't regret not using Skill Mastery!

Hooray. For now, I'd just like to know if there are any allies we might be able to count on, and any features of the surrounding lands that could be used. The rest of the group will probably will come up with other, better ideas down the line.

While Akihito had been selected as leader of the Virtues, the former Yakuza was humble enough to know he was aweful at Large Scale conflicts. So,nodding at Yahata's plan, the Archer states to those assembled
"i'm personally in agreement with Yahata's plan.If you'll excuse me,i'll take Hama with me and find out how our storehouses look for a potential Seige..."

Separate paths

Post by Camus »

"Indeed, the stables are on the north end of the castle. Go there with my blessing and enlist the aid of any able soldier you find" the Tiger says to Akihito and Hanna.
The strategists nod their heads as Kuroi and Soyokaze depart to the different places they head to, with Dai Jin and Yahata remaining.
Nobuhide listened intently to what the god of war had to say, not because he knew he was the war deity, which he didn't, but because he seemed to think Yahata has insights that were valuable.
"The Oda clan does not have many allies nearby,. Only my old enemy, whom I befriended and whose daughter is my son's wife, Saitō Dōsan, the viper of Mino. We could send word to him, I am sure he will rush to aid us, he also hates Yoshimoto." The chief strategist said in reply to Yahata.
He fell silent for a moment thought. "Come to think about it now, Imagawa is allied with the Takeda... I wonder if that old Fox didn't have your same idea, Yahata-dono." With that in the air, Nobuhide helps Yahata with the map. To his request he points a large River south from the city.
"There is the Owari River 4 hours by horse from here. It is a turbulent and moody river this time of the year. The River spirits inhabiting it have bad temper, but they are kind, and allow or fishermen to work in their plentiful waters." He explains

Into the shadows

Kuroi form escaped sight with ease, as he follows the younger son of Nobuhide in the darkness of the moonless night. The noble is escorted by two professional looking hatamoto samurai. The trio takes to the streets, and Kuroi follows them to a local inn. They enter the place, with one of the guards shooting a glance outside before closing the door.

Healing winds

Soyokaze also takes to the streets followed by two guards. They insisted on escorting the old alchemist, and although they might actually prove a hindrance in a combat situation, the wise spirit thought it was a good gesture to let them feel useful and meaningful.
They guided him through the streets to the main Buddhist temple in the city. While Soyokaze had thought about a shrine, this building was truly big, and could potentially hold much more people if need arose. More still, it was located close to the second line of walls, so access would be prompt and efficient.
The entrance to the temple was decorated with vibrant green plants and Buddhist figures, specially Kannon and Fudo Myoo. The doors slowly opened to reveal an old cranky looking monk.
The head monk welcomed the alchemist, with sore eyes; he was sleeping. The three monks from the destroyed temple were there as well, nodding excitedly to Soyokaze.
"I am told the temple will be used as an improvised place to tend to the wounded." The chief monk protests "I will not allow such heresy in my temple" he added dismissively.

Kuro hissed in mild annoyance at the careful barring of the door. In truth it was more of a speedbump then a roadblock. He circled the building to find a second-story window. In his experience mortals were often woefully unprepared for attacks from above, a weakness he intended to exploit to the fullest to eavesdrop on the noble.

Soyokaze smiles widely. He points hands to the esteemed statue of the Jolly Buddha. "Just as Siddhartha Gotama, himself was awakened at 35, some of us obviously take longer to achieve enlightenment." he looks the old monk up and down. "I refer, of course, to the soldiers in employ of this city." he clarifies.

"And just as, in his youth, Siddhartha was a wealthy royal lavished in luxuries, and later founded a religion who's main tenet includes denying such material possessions as traps, so to might a soldier, who's lifestyle of war and harm goes against all the teachings of the Great Man himself, might change, be enlightened, be transformed by the simple succor offered in this place of compassion and peace at a moment of need. Could you deny the world such and enlightened being? I know I could not, Master Monk." Soyokaze says solemnly.

"So, please. Please may we use this holy place to spread not only the Word but the Very Example of the Enlightened One's teachings, that others may be preserved of life and retain the Opportunity to choose a Different Path?" Soyokaze asks.
"Something pithy this way comes."

Bowing respectfully to those assembled,The Archer and Water Warrior headed out of the door and towards the stables.Ounce they were a good distance away he said quietly to (unconsciously adding HIS to the thought) Hama
"If i could get you to the river, could you convince the River Spirits to flood? It would limit Imagawa's options for an attack considerably..."
