Background:

Alex Payne was a smart kid who grew up in a small town in New Zealand. Of Mixed white and maori descent he wasn't presented with a lot of options in life not because of any racism mind you, it was just because there quite literaly wasn't much in his small town to make a chance out of. Up until an earthquake caused by the Chinese deep core drilling which would have flooded more then 2/3rds of the world was detected by Alex using some basic equipment hed built himself in his uncles garage. Working feverishly on the problem Alex was stymied by Chinese security procedures until his headache erupted and he saw everything clearly. he knew what the problem was how the Chinese were causing it and what to do to shut it down.

He met Dolphin of Tn2M along with Atlas and Tomboy and Tantrum who together worked with him to shut down the underwater mining facility, and sabe the world. he also was aprt of the subsequent diplomatic disaster caused by their efforts and the fact that they kicked the rear end of two members of the Heavenly Exploding Mandate.

Alex soon joined the team at Hodges insistence, and partly at Alex's request. Hes never looked back sicne then because now he has every opportunity he ever wanted. Not bad for a maori kid form the sticks.

Personality:

A good natured Kid Alex is a bit of a heartthrob among the ladies and though he humbly tries to play it down he does enjoy the attention he gets. Generally Alex likes to read and learn even moreso now that he has access to a wider swath of information and education then he ever did before. he can often be found in the Library or local bookstores just devouring information. In his off times he enjoys surfing and motorcycle riding.

Background:

Julia Petzer was a typical all American girl growing up in the San Fernando Valley going to the mall, hanging with friends, and just in general being a teenager. then one day she was on a boat out at sea with her friends. She wasn't supposed to be there mind you--shed been grounded--but how do you say no to a party? Then the earthquake hit--coincidentally the same one Smart Alex discovered-- the boat Julia was on was capsized by a massive wave which threatened the LA shoreline. Except as Julia floated in the water praying/hoping that she wouldn't drown and someone would stop the wave, someone did. Julia herself. She erupted with the ability to turn into water, and control the waves. She stopped the wave and dispersed it while also saving all the partygoers on the boat.

Julia joined the ranks of Tn2M after footage of her rescue was broadcast on local news for 24 hours. Hodges managed to convince her to join Utopia over several others who came calling. He had a secret weapon though namely Splash. Pratima Basham was able to connect with Julia and convince her better then any one could. Soon Splash was mentoring Julia named Teardrop and helping her become a real hero.

Personality:

A classic American girl next door Julia is friendly vivacious and pretty. She wants to make the world a better place as much as the next person but isnt quite sure how to go about it. She tries hard studies but isnt really a leader so she follows whoever has the strongest argument at the time. Still she works hard and Splash can see the potential she has and is slowly helping her to see itherself.

Background:

Devon Jackson was sitting on skidrow with 2 strikes against him and a future in doubt. He was surrounded by two rival color gangs who formed an alliance to break his own gangs hold on the neighborhood, and now he was the last of his posse alive or not in prison. The gang closed in and he decked the first four to get in reach, the old mans boxing lessons paying off in spades. things got a bit dicey when the blades came out but he fought those off too only bleeding a little and less then they were. Then the gats came out and that's it he wasn't a match for a half dozen spanglers with uzis. He broke the jaw of the first one to pull the trigger, then took over a hundred rounds right in the chest.

He didn't feel a thing. He'd erupted into a powerhouse and as he smiled at the shocked look on the faces of the %^&$^*s who had killed his boys he proceeded to put the rest in the hospital, at least the ones who werent stupid enough to run away when he first stood up. He thought about tracking them down but then found a little girl who was playing nearby whod been hit by a stray round form the fight. She was crying and at first he thought about just leaving, but he found he couldn't so he scooped her up and jumped to a hospital nearby getting her to safety.

Then he proceeded to think long and hard about what life had to offer him. he could certainly be any number of things now that he was a Nova. an enforcer for the mob, run his own crew of bangers...or he could become something more. The next day he showed up at a MR facility and asked to join T2M. Fortunately for Devon Michael Hodge happened to be visiting Skew at the time, and the two of them talked to Devon who decided to call himself The Bomb after how hard his fists could hit before his eruption.

Soon Devon was a member of Tn2M and was looking at a clean record and a stern warning not to get into trouble again. So far Devons lived up to his promise and avoided the streets, while trying to help out the old neighborhood as best he can.


Personality:

Devon is a tough kid whose had a tough go of it, even tougher in some ways then Lit has. the two often comisserate over their pasts, and seem to be growing a friendship despite all expectations. Devons a fighter though and reguarly puts himself right on the front lines without hesitation, he likes to fight hard but if he needs to cna fight dirty when the cirucmstance calls for it. He wants to be a hero, but the lure of those old streets is a hard memory to escape.

Background:

Altea Hernandez was a surefire bet for the Olympics in track and field, she wanted to be one of mexicos Few gold medalists in the sport. She was preparing for the qualifying rounds of her high schools finals when a car swerved out of nowhere and headed right at her. In a heartbeat she erupted and leapt straight up out of the way. What she didn't know was that a Mexican Nova named Grasshopper was nearby. She had instinctively copied his powers and jumped to safety.

After an examination at T2M Americas HQ she was discovered to be able to copy the powers and abilities of nova and humans nearby. this gave her incredible versatility. Soon she was invited to join Tn2M. An offer she accepted.


Personality:

Altea is a tomboy hence her codename she likes fast cars especially ones she put together and modified herself. She also likes kickboxing and MMA, and has season tickets to the XWF. Friendly and open Altea also recently revealed herself to be Openly Bisexual, and is slowly opening up to her parents who were stunned by the revelation being traditional catholics. Shes nursing a bit of a crush on Dolphin but so far she hasn't revealed her feelings yet.

Background:

Katey Kazemaru was born in Tokyo as a quiet child who seemed to suffer from mild functional autism. She rarely spoke and rarely interacted with anyone save her pet cat, and her origami set. She would fold origami constantly and soon her room was filled with her artwork. while she did ok in school she was still very withdrawn.

then one day she met Kou the leader of Japans Nippontai Hero team, something in Katey changed that day as she passed an origami crane to Kou Katey erupted and the little crane flapped its wings and flew. While the Japanese government wanted katey to join Nippontais growing ranks, her parents though chose Project Utopia and Katey who was suddenly clearer of mind then before began to make her own thoughts on the matter known. She became a member of Tn2M and made her presence felt when Tn2M faced off against the Kabal by taking down no less then three of its members herself.

Personality:

A quiet demure woman who can be determined when she engages in her art. katey is enjoying the wide world beyond Japans borders. She still regularly visits her home country and has debated joining Nippontais ranks but for now is happy where she is. She is still very popular in Japan and surprisingly in South Korea as well. She politely takes all this in stride and works hard to make the world a better place.

Background:

Born with a silver spoon in her mouth, Sylvia was a diva who only had one ambition be a true virtuoso opera singer. Only one problem was that she coudlnt sing to save her life. Oh she tried, many tutors and singing coaches were passed through her manor and she quickly gained a reputation as the scream queen for her harsh voice and worse tongue when she was angry and throwing a tantrum.

things would change when during one particularly hard lesson she broke down into tears and let loose with a frustrated shriek, the growing headache manifested into a scream that shattered glass obliterated concrete and left peoples ears bleeding for blocks ina ll directions. Sylvia had erupted and gained a powerful voice.

Sylvia didnt wait she marched down to Project Utopia and demanded a spot on T2M central only there would she be truly appreciated for the person she was. She didnt make it and ended up on Tn2M with the other kids. She accepted this indignity with grace and decided to make a go of it. After all it was her duty to bring her superior breeding to bear on the problems of the world. And hey her voice has improved to where she can actually carry a tune now.

Personality:

A true diva and a royal brat Sylvia has a tendancy to try to insert herself into every situation as if she were the center of the universe. Shes trying to become a better teamplayer mind you especially after Dolphin swatted her hard in a training exercise, and Atlas quietly steamrolled her for stepping on hsi authority as assigned team leader in a manner that almost got Tomboy killed. For all her flaws though she is a caring individual and trully does try to be a hero.

I'm loving all the old Aberrant builds! Reminds me of the days of long posts on the original WW forums. Any plans on the Teragen? I think a "Terrible angel" with arms may be needed.

Also since Steve Kenson is now in charge of Trinity-verse any plans on switching over to Aberrant 2.0 when released?

I do have a full list of Terragen builds ready including a couple of the big guns. Terragen are a very interesting group in that many of them act like classic supervillains but the truth is that theyre there to challenge the players world view as much if not more then their quantum abilities. make them question if theyre fighting for the right side of things.


No current plans to switch to 2.0 that's a we'll have to wait and see whats what.

The D6 system Star Wars!

The D6 System:

The D6 system was created by West End games in 1996 Intended to be used in table top RPGs but also found some use in Live action and Miniature games. the System was used for Ghostbusters and Chaosium RPGs. Elements of which were adapted for the Star Wars RPG which had 140+ Supplements published for it. A version was posted as a sort of blank slate game allowing GMs to base any game setting in the system, this lead to games like Indiana Jones, Men In Black, and others, Including a future adaptation of the DC heroes RPG.

The Standard D6 system uses a combination 6-8 attrubutes depending on the Game setting in question, representing both mental (Acumen, Intellect, Knowledge, Perception, Presence and Technical etc) and physical (Agility, Coordination, Mechanical, Physique, Reflexes, Strength etc)stats. The stats would be anywhere from 1 or more D6 usually 1-5 for humans with possibility of +1-2 pips as the stats were leveled up.

These are usually combined with various skills to create dice pools which in the basic system are added together to beat a dfifculty number, or in the case of an opposed check the targets difficulty number.

A wild die was added in the 2nd Edition of the game. The Wild die if it rolls a 6 explodes meaning you add the six to the total plus re-roll the wild die, adding the result to the total. You get to keep rolling as long as you get sixes. If an initial one is rolled on the wild die, you disregard both it and the highest regular die from the total, often making you fail. Then you re-roll the wild die. If it comes up another one, a critical failure or complication occurs, usually with bad results for the character. Use of the wild die tends to make the game feel more cinematic.

Characters can improve the rolls by aspending character or fate points or force points depending on the setting involved. Each character point spent adds an extra wild die to one skill or attribute roll. A roll of one has no negative effect with wild dice generated from character points. Alternately, a character may spend one fate point on an action. Characters have fewer fate points, but the expenditure of them doubles the amount of dice rolled on an action.

A later version was known as the legends version, which unlike the classic version did away with pips and used Body points for health instead of the health levels of the prior or classic system. In the Legends system as seen in the DCU rpg the dice pool would instead be rolled and any 3-6 would be considered a success. the player would attempt to meet or beat a certain number of success to succeed.

My very first Star Wars RPG was the classic 2nd edition D6 RPG where a series of characters were created that would become iconic for me in that series, including my Knight Ana Tathis, as well as Hot Shot smuggling pilot Athena Red, and A saurian powerhouse named Skraan. Another campaign would introduce Gray Bishop an elite Force trained assassin who would be trained as a Jedi by both Ana, and Yoda and redeem himself with a crew of misfits who would help the alliance win the day.

Id both run and play in several campaigns with the D6 and eventually the D20 systems and had alot of fun. ll build some of the characters here for everyone.

House Rules:

Character Creation:

Attributes:
*All heroes start with 18 Dice to distribute among the core 6 attributes, or may use Templates as provided by Core rule books.
*dice may be split into 3 pips adding +1-2 to attributes
*Keep racial minimums and maximums in mind at creation; Human min/max = 2D/4D
*If Force Sensitive up to 1 Dice each may be spent on one of the Force Skills IE( Control, Alter, Sense)
*Force Sensitive Players automatically start with 1D in Sense

Skills:
*Players may fill in skills per Template, or add skills as desired to a maximum at creation of the Attribute Dice x2 + any pips = 1 skill choice
*Players receive 15 Dice to distribute among Skills chosen
*Each skill dice up to a maximum of 3 at character creation can be split into 3 specializations
*One skill dice max and only at creation may be split into either 3 Attribute pips or 6 Skill pips

Force Skills:
*Each 1 Die of Force Skill chosen automatically awards 3 powers at Creation subject to GMs approval list of acceptable powers to follow.
*Each pip = 1 power choice subject again to GMs approval from the list

Background:

Ana Tathis the Hero of Tython grew up on a small forest world named Reyn 3. Her life was a mostly quiet one of little importance until she started getting flashes of insight that proved remarkably accurate. it was at this time that she was found by a Jedi Knight who began to train her in the ways of the force. For six long years she studied intently at a small commune of other Jedi where she excelled at lightsaber combat in ways that stunned her teachers. She was sent to Tython the ancestral home of the Jedi where the order had returned in the wake of the sacking of Coruscant and the destruction of the Temple to Complete her final trials.

While there she was sent to battle Flesh Raiders who were attacking the proving grounds, and faced off against a fallen jedi who she killed in combat using only a training saber. She then met Master Orgus Din who shocked the Jedi Council when the reclusive Orgus who had not taken a Padawan in many years took Ana under his wing. Ana went through several adventures on Tython and several trial before she completed her lightsaber at the ancient Forge and defeated the Fallen Jedi Bengal Morr saving the Order in the process and being named a Knight of the Jedi.

Ana would face many more trials including battle with Darth Angral, War with the Empire, and A final battle with the Emperor himself where she would strike down the madman.

Eventually Ana would fight on the Frost world Ilum, and bring down Darth malgus and his New Empire, as well as save the people of Makeb from Destruction at the hands of the Hutt Shadow Empire. She would team up with SIS Spy Theron Shan. and Sit Lord Lana Beniko to uncover and defeat the resurgent Order of Revan and face down the returned Sith Emperor again.

On the hunt for the Emperor Ana would be taken captive by the Eternal Empire of Zakuul and be frozen iNC arbonite for 5 years before escaping with the help of Lana Beniko. She would go on to form and lead a grand Alliance of Empire and Republic forces and defeat Arkann as well as his sister Vailynn taking the throne and turning it into a galactic peace keeping force.

What the Future has in store for Ana no one can say but she continues to live up to her own personal code of right and wrong and follows the path of the light always.

Notes:

Ana was my first ever character in the Star Wars the Old Republic Video game based on my original character from the D6 RPG. Shes a Sentinel combat specced and a beast in a fight., Shes also an exceptional Star Fighter pilot--if I do say so myself as I do fairly well in the GSF mini game :) -- and possess a great deal of power able to defeat the Dark will of the Sith Emperor, and his powerful children as well as many other dark powers.

Shes pretty well done every major story and op or Fp in the game and so Its not a stretch to say shes canonically as powerful as any being in the Old republic era.

Background:

Ana Tathis was born on the forest World of Reyn 3much like her famous Ancestor except that Ana was born some 3600 years after the time of the old republic and saw the rise of the Empire and the end of the Clone wars as a child. as a child Ana was impulsive and energetic but kind always trying to protect those who couldn't fight for themselves. It was in this manner that she met Lady Carys the local villages storyteller who would appear and disappear at random trading strange tales for supplies with the local villages as well as wisdom and healing services.

She saw Ana Evade one of the planets larger Predators and was impressed. She could feel the force flowing strongly through Ana and after a couple more tests invited Ana to learn the ""old ways"" from her. Long did Ana toil in the gardens of Lady Carys home and slowly did the mysterious lessons she taught find Ana growing stronger and stronger. One day Ana awoke in the middle of the forest with Lady Carys home nowhere in sight, As Ana made her way in the direction she thought was home she found small scattered pieces of tech and an oddly glowing crystal that seemed to sing to her in her pocket. Slowly she managed to piece the parts together until when confronted by a group of the massive reptiles who were the planets dominant predators she found she had created her own Lightsaber.

But Ana suprsied herself by not using the weapon immediately and instead she tamed the massive beasts and used them to take her to Lady Carys home which was not very far. Lady Carys congratulated her and praised her will and restraint. She announced that there was no more for her to teach and that Experience and the force would be her guide.

Ana left her home and hitchhiked across the galaxy having many adventures including terrifying run ins with Imperial forces and Dark Jedi. It was during one such battle that she met Gray Bishop and his friends. the two felt and instant connection through the force, Ana and Gray left Alderan and searched together before finding Tython the long lost ancestral home of the Jedi. While there Ana trained Gray in his abilities which he had no memory of, She taught him as much as she could and together the two found the archives of the ancient Jedi temple including the Noeticons ancient repositories of knowledge, though the pair shared a brief romantic passion they both knew their destines lay elsewhere and parted ways as friends. Ana remained to secure the site and learn more about the force and the Jedi.

Many more adventures would follow including a battle with Darth Vader himself whom she narrowly defeated and escaped from. Ana would go on to aid the rebellion at the battle of Endor and later on in its final battles against the imperial Remnants before going into hiding where she would train her own apprentice.

Notes:

Ana was the very first D6 SW character I ever made. She was inspired by the placeholder character used in the main rulebook to explain the force and I expanded upon the characters background. Ana was impulsive at first but slowly matured and grew more powerful an wiser. her story crossed over thanks to a GM using her in a new campagin where i played Gray and the two became friends and even briefly lovers.

Ana would have quites a few encounters with one particularly tenacious Dark Jedi who she beat constantly. the man was later revealed to be in love and even obsessed with her and turning her but she remained true to the light and though she tried to bring him to the light couldn't convince him though in the end she did succeed in partially redeeming him when he sacrificed himself to save her and some rebels she was protecting.

All told Ana was aload of fun to play for my first run through with the D6 system and very powerful especially as she grew and gained more experience.
