I love Minilla.
Wasn't he human-sized at one point?

Re: Jab's Builds! (Godzilla! Ebirah! Rodan! Gargantuas! Mothra!)
little late to the party....and I don't wanna ruin my bromance with Macyn here and all.......but man EFF Mothra.
Now I like showa era Mothra. The movie and its appearances thereafter in that era were good. It's not necessarily my cuppa tea but I'm alright.
Heisei era is mostly okay....although I don't likw how Jeph Loebed Mothra gets by the end of Rebirth of Monthra III. I honestly think Jab really lowballed Armor Mothra there because DAMN you can't hurt that thing like at all.
But the thing that really grinds my gears is around the Millennium Era. In particular, Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.
So the twin fairies show up and appeal to the Japanese government that they should return Kiryu's bones to the sea, because using it like that is upsetting the natural order. The government refuses pointing out that Kiryu is really their one hope and beating back Godzilla if he ever rears his head. The Fairies reply that "Hey....Mothra will totally come and fight Godzilla if that's the case, so don't worry", to which I say to the TV "The hell was she last time then?" and then they add "oh and you don't do this Mothra's probably gonna totally wreck Japan sooo...." at which point hate quit for a few minutes, finish the movie, and don't watch it again for ten years. Really.
Rewatched it a few years ago and honestly....it's a decent Godzilla movie....but those damn fairies......well I'm not gonna wish Nelson kidnapping on them, but maybe I dunno.....flogging with a very small whip? And I dunno whether Macyn likes that idea or is going to kill me so I'm gonna cut out.
Well....after I say this: I like Minilla. Yeah, yeah, soak it up hippies.
Son of Godzilla may well be my first Godzilla movie. We had that on Betamax when I was a kid. BETAMAX.
It was on there with Dumbo believe it or not. When one ended, the other began. I don't wanna paint my parents as negligent in this, but they were always working on building our new house (the one I own and inhabit now) as far back as I can remember. And if you put on those two movies, I was in heaven and only bothered them to rewind it once the tape ended.
Love it. Absolutely love it. Used to think Kamacuras were grasshoppers when I was little. Love the movie, the fights, the snowy scene with the touching music at the end. Wanted more.
Then a few years later I got more: Godzilla's Revenge happened....
You know.....you've screwed up when a six year old is pissed off at a Godzilla movie.

Ah, thanks, HalloweenJack.
My son, Gam, was looking for a human-sized monster to befriend. But if he is human-sized only in a kid's dream, we will have to pass on Minilla as a pet.

Oh, good!
I will tell Gam that he can have a mini Godzilla monster pet/friend! He will be so happy!
We will leave tonight for Monster Island.
Then to Wal-Mart for some Purina Monster-Chow.

I'll just set this down here, all right?KorokoMystia wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 10:13 pm Also, after doing some digging and reading about Zone Fighter, I discovered that there were at least three (!!) other Ultraman ripoffs by Toho: Godman, Greenman, and Megaloman. Man, along with Jet Jaguar and Zone Fighter, just how many of these guys did Toho make?!
(We're talking about fifty years. There've probably been a lot.)

may be worth noting, that Brandon Tenold does a ton of B-Movie Reviews and he's done his fair share of Godzilla films. Even Gamera ones.

Dude, you talkin' bad 'bout my 2 Extortionist Wifu's and their Gigantic Pet Moth?!HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 9:34 pm little late to the party....and I don't wanna ruin my bromance with Macyn here and all.......but man EFF Mothra.

Ok,Ok, Tokyo:S.O.S wasn't their finest hour i'll admit it,but by that point m'ladies were probably a bit tired of having to bail humanity out for being "Idiot Children"(as the one Evil Fairy, and my sister-in-law,calls us) so they briefly became C#%/'s.....At least in my headcannon. In reality,Toho was trying to experiment with the Franchise a bit and it failed faster than a boat made of Swiss Cheese in the middle of the Atlantic.
As for the very small whip thing......if you'll excuse me,i'm goona go find a,um, Specialist about using eyelashes in intresting ways.
I'll leave with this thought: Minilla could've been done a LOT worse than he was and Son of Godzilla was honestly pretty good for the Era.

-Gabara looked like an Oni, a Japanese creature of folklore (it's not a demon or an ogre- it's an ONI. It doesn't HAVE to have a Western counterpart), but was taller than most other Kaiju. That didn't make him tough, however- he bullied Minilla, but got curbstomped when he tried similar tactics against Godzilla himself, and Minilla himself once stunned him. As such, he's one of the weakest Kaiju around, despite a pretty-cool Electrical Assault.

Shobijin are wonderful. They provoke wonder.
Shobijin are marvelous. They cause marvels.
Shobijin are fantastic. They create fantasies.
Shobijin are glamorous. They project glamour.
Shobijin are enchanting. They weave enchantment.
Shobijin are terrific. They beget terror.
The Shobijin consider using a 150 meter weapon of moth destruction to be an acceptable form of international diplomacy. The Shobijin will totally sic Godzilla on your city if you piss them off. The Shobijin are “good guys” only because they live in a universe where “bad guys” consist of the likes of King Gidorah and Gigan.
No one ever said the Shobijin were nice.
