I've never tired it either, but I think it will make it a lot easier to quickly identify whose posts are whose. I've usually used text headers, but I'm kind of a visual person.
I simply uploaded the original art to my Imgur account (since PhotoBucket is kinda kaput), cropped it down to just a square around her head, then had it resized to a 50 x 50 pic. Presto.

Now that you mention it, I should probably have a complication for the fact that Dave can't easily hide himself in public situations, due to his inhuman skin and eyes.
