Given that you could spend a hero point and 'jury-rig' the 2-pt ritual in 2 rounds for a DC 17 Expertise-Magic check, might not be worth it.

You could, but I tend to agree with Flynnarel.
You could also set those points as APs for low level spells.
As an aside - the real reason I asked how long it would take for the ritual was because if he just power stunts now, there`s plenty of time to recover from the fatigue and not "waste" the HP. In that vein, you could prep a few triggered rituals as Power Stunts - something along the lines of "when undead appear with range" sounds appropriate.
In the same vein, Kar'anna`s resourceful benefit could come into play to find some kind of scanner or other useful equipment.
Between Kar'anna and Lindsey, coupled with Rand`s Goggle-Fu, you should be able to get enough ready long before arrival.
I just would like an idea of what you`ve prepared and how.

Made a small adjustment to Kar’Anna’s background. She’s no longer an operative of the Emperor, although nothing else has changed in terms of her abilities.
At Blade’s suggestion, I decided she’s an Earther with MGS kind of like how his Supergirl is actually Melissa Benoist. Except Kar’Anna is multiple alternate reality versions of herself - Drow, Sith, possibly Tok’Ra ally - merged into one person. She kept her personality for the most part but developed abilities...
Question for kirinke, I could see her confiding in the Pokémon Trainer, and wanting to keep it on the quiet side. Your thoughts?

Well, someone slapped Kal'annar with a Belt of Rule 63.
She can elaborate, but the retcon of her being allied with Kal'annar pre Venus and then reconnecting during his conversation with Lionmane still works in my mind. She was essentially a retcon to take Kal'annar`s place.

Still don't know if I'll ever get around to running The Merge: There Will Be War (PCs are space mercenaries/covert ops group working for a coalition of interstellar powers in the Merge universe trying to build an alliance of civilizations they can live with). Because it's me running things, expect a lot more from books and less comics and TV and movies. I like the concept, but have tried and failed to get PBP games running before.
