HISTORY
Super-Woman was born into the partially "reversed" universe of Earth-Three. Similar to the story of Wonder Woman, Super-Woman was a known Amazon and has all the powers and abilities of the Amazons. But unlike Princess Diana who was a recognized leader of the Amazons, this Amazon was a renegade who left Paradise Island on her own accord after finding out about the outside world. It was also known that the Amazons of Earth-Three never tried to recall her back from the outside world despite all the intervening years Super-Woman was active. However it has been assumed that like the Earth-Two Wonder Woman she was stripped of her immortality by the Amazons for breaking their rules and laws as she is usually shown with a white streak of hair in her later appearances, indicating that she was aging in later stories.

After their defeat by the combined forces of the Earth-Two Justice Society of America and the Earth-One Justice League of America, Super-Woman would remain imprisoned between dimensions until Captain Comet and the Secret Society of Super-Villains passed through the dimensions and accidentally freed her along with Power Ring and Johnny Quick.

After being defeated by Captain Comet, Super-Woman and her fellow Crime Syndicate members were once again imprisoned. But Super-Woman and the Crime Syndicate were able to routinely escape as shown when the Per Degaton and the Ultra-Humanite and his new time-traveling band of the Secret Society came to Earth-Three. Super-Woman and the others would battle against Alexander Luthor, Sr. and other heroes on many occasions who would routinely defeat Super-Woman and the other members of the Crime Syndicate.

This basic stalemate of escape and imprisonment would continue until the antimatter wave attack of the Anti-Monitor came to Earth-Three during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Unable to stop the antimatter wave that was destroying Earth-Three, Super-Woman and the other members of the Crime Syndicate teamed up with Luthor, Sr. in an attempt to stop the attack. Super-Woman was trying to directly brace a building against the anti-matter wave which ripped through her hundreds of feet thick barrier and killed her as Luthor, Sr. looked on.

Super-Woman along with everyone else native to their dimension died in the attack and were completely erased from all history with the reset of the single surviving universe, except for Superman of Earth-Two and Alexander Luthor, Jr. who remembered Super-Woman and her world.

During Convergence, She is sentenced to death for killing a man. When the field goes down, she was brought back to life and wins the battle for the Crime Syndicate.

CONTACTS: Crime Syndicate

HISTORY
Superwoman was one of the six main members of the Crime Syndicate in the Earth universe that they inhabited. She had a relationship with fellow team member Owlman, whom she saw as nearly psychopathic as she was if not more. Superwoman was one of the members who favored the use and development of a quantum-powered nuclear weapon that would destroy all life on Earth if the Earth governments refused to relinquish what little power they had left to the Crime Syndicate. However, Owlman had a much more sinister purpose for the weapon: to destroy all realities that have sprung from the one that he called Earth-Prime that Superwoman found delightful. Superwoman kept Owlman's personal plans for the weapon a secret, but was eventually suspected by her fellow teammates when Owlman transported the weapon to Earth-Prime without their knowledge. She and the surviving members of the Crime Syndicate were later brought to justice when Batman transported Owlman and the activated weapon to a cold desolate Earth universe where it would destroy that Earth without harming anyone.

TALENTS: Actor; Detective; Engineering; Repair/Tinkering; Martial Arts: A, B, C, E; Vehicles; Pilot; Business/Finance; Chemistry; Escape Artist

CONTACTS: Robin, Alfred, Aunt Harriet, Commissioner Gordon, Chief O’Hara

HISTORY:
The series focused on the adventures of Batman and Robin. Although the lives of their alter-egos, millionaire Bruce Wayne and his ward Dick Grayson (Richard John Grayson) were frequently shown, it was usually only briefly, in the context of their being called away on superhero business, or in circumstances where they needed to employ their secret identities to assist in their crime-fighting. The "Dynamic Duo" typically come to the aid of the Gotham City Police upon the latter being stumped by a supervillain. Throughout each episode, Batman and Robin have to follow a series of (wildly improbable) clues to discover the supervillain's plan, then figure out how to thwart that plan and capture the criminal.

For the first two seasons, Batman aired twice a week on consecutive nights. Every story is a two-parter, except for two three-parters featuring villainous team ups (The Joker and The Penguin, The Penguin and Marsha, Queen of Diamonds) in the second season. The titles of each multi-part story usually rhymed. For the third season, which aired one episode a week, most episodes were self-contained stories. However, each episode would end with a teaser featuring the next episode's guest villain. The cliffhangers between multiple-parters typically consisted of the supervillain holding someone captive, usually the Dynamic Duo, with the captives being subject to some elaborate, gruesome – if unlikely – death. This would inevitably be resolved early in the follow-up episode.

Ostensibly a crime series, the style of the show was in fact campy and tongue-in-cheek. It was a true situation comedy, in that situations were exaggerated and were generally played for laughs. This increased as the seasons progressed, with the addition of ever greater absurdity. The characters, however, always took the absurd situations extremely seriously – which added to the comedy.

Yay! Superwoman (Superwomen!)! I love me a strong bad girl! I have been patiently waiting for these. What a great day!

Excellent pics, especially the first one. I really like that one. The second I recognize from the animated series story. That Superwoman gave Superman a hard time.

Thank you so much for doing these builds!

TALENTS: Acrobatics; Detective; Journalism; Repair/Tinkering; Martial arts: A, B, E; Thief; Pilot – air, land; Weapon Specialist: Web Shooters

CONTACTS: All-Star Squadron; Publishing Community

HISTORY
Jonathan Law, the Tarantula, was a crime writer and superhero who was a member of the All-Star Squadron.

Inspired by the super-heroes about which he wrote, Law decided to don a costume of his own. Inspired by a sketch from Dian Belmont and his pet tarantula, he became the Tarantula, and developed equipment based on that theme. He entrusted his secret to his housekeeper, Olga, who created his blue and yellow costume for him. His first foray into heroics was stopping a Nazi spy ring, with help from Sandman.

He made his public debut a little later, when he stopped a robbery at a Broadway theater. He joined the All-Star Squadron in 1942 and adopted a new costume, because he felt his original was intended to be Sandman's. Out of admiration, he researched most of his teammates, but as a hero, dropped out of the public picture after the war.

He had a best selling book, Altered Egos: The Mystery Men of World War II, published in the 1960s. Altered Egos was partially a memoir of Law's time as the Tarantula, and partially a reference work covering all of the super-heroes active during World War II.

In his later years, Law lived in the city of Blüdhaven, in the same apartment building as Richard Grayson (Nightwing). At one point, the building was burned down by the villain Blockbuster in an attempt to ruin Nightwing's life. Law's successor as Tarantula, who tried to save him, arrived too late and John Law died in the blast, along with 21 other residents. However, his body was never recovered.

CONTACTS: Atlantis; Aquaman; The Titans

HISTORY
Garth was the Atlantean hero known as Tempest. He began his heroic career as the original Aqualad, teenaged sidekick to Aquaman. His origin is similar to that of his mentor. Garth was an amphibious humanoid who was left to die because of ancient Atlantean superstition and prophecy. He was a prince of the Idyllists, a colony of Atlanteans that settled in the Hidden Valley 4,000 years ago. There, nestled in the capital city of Shayeris, the pacifist Idyllists became rabid builders and collectors, architects and artisans, and eschewed physical violence at all costs. The Idyllists were also practitioners of magic and kept an extensive library of mystical texts and scrolls.

Approximately four decades ago, King Thar and his wife Queen Berra, became the reigning monarchs of Shayeris. Thar had inherited the throne and access to ancient magical energies that his brother Zath, a powerful magician in his own right, believed to be rightfully his. Zath practiced dark sorcery and necromancy, the raising of the dead, and was eventually banished from the Hidden Valley. His body transformed into disgusting, half human form, Zath, renamed Slizzath, returned to Shayeris twenty years later with an army of undead. He planned to invade the Hidden Valley and transform it into a necropolis he would rule.

King Thar knew of this and assembled an armory of robots and weapons to stop his demented brother. But the Idyllist radicals killed him and banished his pregnant wife Berra back to Atlantis. Before Thar was killed, however, he was able to cast a magical spell that trapped Slizzath in an otherdimensional prison. Unfortunately, this spell was linked to a magical ritual which would give his offspring access to incredible mystical powers and accessing that ritual would give Slizzath the energy required to break free of his prison. So word was sent out that all babies born with purple eyes, the Idylist mark of power, should be banished and killed, lest they try to perform the access ritual and accidentally free Slizzath and his undead army. The Idyllists also claimed that Thar had gone insane to hide their complex, fearful plan.

In Poseidonis, one of the domed cities of Atlantis, Queen Berra gave birth to her baby boy, Garth, who was born with purple eyes. The Atlanteans claimed Garth had been born genetically inferior and sentenced him to death on a seabed leagues away from Atlantis. But, with the secret help of Aquaman's father, the Atlantean sorcerer Atlan, the young Garth not only survived but thrived. It was Atlan who taught Garth language and survival rituals and kept the young boy from going feral as he scavenged his way through the undersea. Garth did develop an intense fear of schools of fish, however, that haunted him into his teens.

Garth eventually met Aquaman. As Aqualad, he fought crime and had many adventures above and below the sea with his mentor. When Aquaman assumed the throne of Poseidonis, Garth became a member of the royal court.

Garth was one of the founding members of the Teen Titans, and was a member of that team in many of its incarnations although later as a reservist since he began to feel he was of little help out of the water. His girlfriend for many years was Tula (a.k.a. Aquagirl) until her death during the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

As a result of his grief and repeated telepathic abuse by Mento, among other factors, Aqualad lost his ability to control marine life. While he later regained this power during the Millennium event, it came with the condition that his commands must now be phrased as requests to the creatures to perform desired actions, although the animals apparently need little persuasion.

Shortly before Zero Hour, it was Garth who convinced Aquaman to come out of his depression and back into action. The two of them investigated a downed submarine and fought a villain named Charybdis. During the battle, Garth at one point thought he spotted Tula in the distance. After disagreeing with Aquaman, Garth left his mentor and swam off to investigate the Tula sighting. It was not, in fact, Aquagirl, but a "shark-girl". Garth was captured by her people and chained up to a rock, left to be killed by a deadly whirlwind. He was rescued by Atlan, who transported him to another dimension.

Atlan took Garth to the Grotto, a convergence between dimensions, and spent the next several months to a year (although only days or weeks passed on Earth) training Garth in his mystical heritage, preparing him for his eventual role as the guardian of all undersea humanoid communities. In addition to other magical abilities, Garth gained the ability to affect water with blasts of freezing or boiling energy. He then returned to Earth and helped Aquaman fight off an invasion of the Hunter/Gatherers. Proving victorious, Garth left with Atlan again for a new mission.

Atlan took Garth back to the Hidden Valley where he had to battle Slizzath, who intended to conquer all the oceans. Garth adopted a new name, Tempest, and was confronted by a resurrected Tula (only to have her die again) and comes out of the experience older and more mature, with a new confidence in himself (and a new uniform).

Tempest resumed his role as Aquaman's right hand man and also joined the newly reformed Titans along with his old friends. Some friction arose between the two heroes when Aquaman's lover, Dolphin, left him for Tempest, but the two have since resolved their differences. Tempest proceeded to get Dolphin pregnant and temporarily freaked out over it. Tempest and Dolphin decided to get married shortly thereafter. The Titans came to Atlantis to attend the wedding.

Dolphin gave birth just as Atlantis was being attacked by the island nation of Cerdia. The baby was kidnapped by Ocean Master, who had orchestrated the war, but was successfully rescued. After the war, when Atlantis annexed the island, Garth decided to name the baby Cerdian (Ian for short) as a gesture of goodwill.

During the events known as "Infinite Crisis", the Spectre attacked Atlantis. Dolphin and Cerdian were two of the many casualties of the attack.

Aquaman later died and was replaced by distant relative Arthur Joseph Curry.

Garth assumed the duties of king of Atlantis after the new Aquaman had abandoned both the kingship and role as Aquaman.

Garth was attacked by the possessed corpses of the original Aquaman, Tula and Dolphin who were Black Lanterns. Garth fought off Tula and Dolphin until he was stabbed in his chest and died instantly, Aquaman left him to fight Mera. Upon his death, a Black Lantern Power Ring flew onto his finger and attached itself bringing him back from death as a possessed being. Garth then stood beside his deceased wife, former girlfriend and adopted father as part of the Black Lantern Corps.

I actually preferred the yellow and purple number. This isn't a bad costume; in fact it's a very good costume. It just looks like it was designed in 1982, not 1942.

The redesign of this one that Paul Smith did for The Golden Age Image, I think, caught the look of the era better.

Present Group Affiliation:

KNOWN POWERS:
Geoforce: In/40
Earth Control: Am/50
  • Floating Disc: Rm/30, Terra often rode a boulder which she caused to fly
LIMITATIONS: Minor Rage: due to what happened to her in the past Tara has a problem controlling her anger. She must make a green psyche FEAT to avoid flying into a rage.

TALENTS: Acting

CONTACTS: Geo-Force; The Titans; Deathstroke; The Hive

HISTORY
Terra became a mercenary, doing dirty work for others such as Deathstroke the Terminator. She joined the Teen Titans, fooling them by staging a battle against Deathstroke. She then operated as a spy for Deathstroke, eventually giving him the information he needed to kidnap the Titans.

Eventually, the captured Titans were held in a stronghold of Deathstroke's contractors, the H.I.V.E. Nightwing and Deathstroke's son, Jericho, raided the complex to rescue them, but were captured. When presented to Deathstroke and the organization in general, Jericho possessed his father and freed the Titans. who then attacked H.I.V.E. Not knowing of Jericho's powers, Terra believed Deathstroke to have turned against her, and thus she went berserk and fatally pulled the whole H.I.V.E. complex down upon herself.

Right before Final Crisis, Geo-Force is seen with Black Lightning, contemplating murdering Deathstroke for making Terra go crazy. Geo-Force gets Deathstroke to the alley where Jericho had his throat slit all those years ago, rendering him unable to speak. Deathstroke defeated Geo-Force but explained that because Brion had Terra's powers now, the psychosis that Terra had was going to settle in on him. Geo-Force refused to believe this and did the only thing he could to stop Deathstroke from taking him over like he did to Terra: he slit his throat, bring back painful memories to Deathstroke. Deathstroke tries to save Brion but Brion stabs him in the stomach with Deathstroke's own sword. In that, Brion believes that he took revenge on Deathstroke for what he did to Terra.

In 1991 another Terra appeared, almost identical to the first as part of the Team Titans from a possible 2001. She was one of three people ostensibly from that future who were not wiped out in Zero Hour. She was told by the Time Trapper that this was because she was not from the future at all, although she destroyed Time Trapper's messenger orb out of panic before the story was finished. Subsequently, she discovered Tara Markov's coffin to be empty.

Further evidence suggested she is the original Terra, but due to her horror at what she did, Geo-Force decided to spare her this knowledge, thinking she would rather not have a past than have that one.

Terra rises from the dead with a power ring as a zombie along with all of the other members of the new Black Lantern Corps during Blackest Night. She has appeared at Titans Tower, and considers this her second chance to murder the Titans as she had always wanted to do. Using the resurrected Omen to disguise her grotesque appearance, she nearly seduces Beast Boy before he learns the truth.[2] Going after her former boyfriend first, she has explained that she wants what she always wanted... his heart. HISTORY
The second Terra was one of the Team Titans, future heroes displaced in time. She had the powers, appearance and name as the original Terra, Tara Markov.

Terra was taken by Time Trapper around 2001, and placed in the past with the other Team Titans. She developed into a true hero, unlike her namesake, and was attracted to Changeling, although he rejected her.

After the events of Zero Hour, Terra joined the main Teen Titans team and was told via a messenger orb that she was not from the future but from the present day, having been recruited by the Time Trapper to serve in the Team Titans, in order to one day oppose the group and its leader, the villainous Monarch. She was told by the Time Trapper that this was because she was not from the future at all, although he destroyed Time Trapper's messenger orb out of panic before the story was finished. Subsequently, she discovered Tara Markov's coffin to be empty.

Geo-Force agreed to perform tests to figure out who she was. When she expresses her fears that she is the original Terra, Geo-Force lied and informed her that she is not his sister, even though the genetic tests were positive.

Her death was inevitable due to her faulty genetics, but she died a hero nonetheless. She answered the call of the Teen Titans to stop the rampage of Black Adam, but was killed in the battle along with Young Frankenstein.
