[Earth-F]Superhumanity, part two of two

Post by Hoid »

[Earth-F]A dissertation on local superhumanity: part 2 of 2.
MACHINE-TITANS:
What are 'Machine-Titans'?
'Machine-Titans' are Machine-Deities that've drastically malfunctioned, mutating them out of control into ENORMOUS, hate-fueled war-juggernauts.

Machine-Titans are feared by all peoples throughout Earth-F, as they've only one objective: "Destroy the enemy!" Unfortunately, lacking control parameters, Machine-Titans were free to interpret that order in whatever way fitted their prejudices and/or psychoses best.

How do Machine-Titans differ from Machine-Deities?
A Machine-Titan occurs whenever a Machine-Deity's software undergoes a fatal systems crash. This causes the Machine-Titan to undergo radical mutations and uncontrolled weapons upgrades not restrained by tzorareesph Battlefield Scaling Limitations.

This has several effects:
First, a Machine-Titan swells to ENORMOUS size.
Second, a Machine-Titan undergoes a massive spike in raw power!
Third, a Machine-Titan permanently enters a combat fugue, in which everything around it is either an enemy hostile, a friendly, or else is an objective of some sort.
Fourth and finally, Machine-Titans no longer possess genuine free will, being slaves to the above-mentioned combat fugue.

That sounds...unpleasant. Can a Machine-Titan be 'fixed' and transformed properly into a Machine-Deity?
Most certainly!...assuming you have the tzorareesph command-codes---which are currently on the bombed-out industrial hellscape that is the tzorareesph homeworld over a hundred lightyears away!

How many Machine-Titans are there?
Right about a thousand, give or take. (Yes, this is a much smaller population than that of Machine-Deities.)

Is there a Machine-Titan Exemplar?
Yes. Known to his countrymen as Raiden (PL13/255pp), this Japanese Machine-Titan is considered a vile oni, or 'giant': Raiden has immense weather-controlling powers, which he must 'refuel' by consuming human flesh. Placeholder.

Are Machine-Titans Demimachines?
Yes.

What do Machine-Titans look like?
Immense and hulking...and hideous! These're the three universal qualities found in Machine-Titans; other than, every Machine-Titan is a unique flower of monstrousness! Placeholder.

Is the Earth-F imperiex a Machine-Titan?
No. The Overlord is a psychic utterly unrelated to the machineries of the tzorareesph. He is, in fact, an Exotic! (The Overlord is discussed elsewhere.)

[Earth-B]Leafgardentown!

Post by Hoid »

[Earth-B]The Micropolis of Leafgardentown!
Leafgardentown is part of the Hegemony's Central Polity.

Technically a city of its own but also technically part of New York City, Leafgardentown has the pleasurable distinction of being the happiest place on Earth. Populated entirely by Leafs, Leafgardentown has no crime, no unemployment, no great intolerances or xenophobias. It is warm, inviting and friendly, and the locals are the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Covering the tops of every building in Manhattan, as well as the top six floors of every skyscraper throughout all NYC, Leafgardentown is, well, green! A hydroponics facility of epic size as well as a Leaf micro-metropolis, Leafgardentown is beautiful and serene. As Leafs photosynthesize, the streets of Leafgardentown have canals instead of sidewalks. Water is free and open to anyone who cares to partake.

As for the city, economically:
Leafgardentown's main export is produce. While many might be squicked out by tiny plant beings being farmers, Leafs see agriculture as no different from humans raising animal livestock.

As for the city, culturally:
Aphids are popular pets in Leafgardentown.
Tennis is the most popular local sport.
English is primarily spoken in Leafgardentown.
There are no cars: only tiny boats.
Most of the micropolis' citizenry is Christian, but a sizeable Jewish population can also be found.
Who's That Leaf?, a TV reality-show in which curious Leafs learn about their human ancestors, is Leafgardentown's local smash hit.

As for the city religiously:
Turning Over Anew Ministries has the vast majority of Leafgardentown's Christian population. Technically its own Protestant denomination, Turning Over Anew Ministries is a positive force for good in the micropolis.

As for the city politically:
Leafgardentown is liberal, politically.
Leafgardentown is run by a mayor and a city council, all of them elected by popular vote. Leaf candidates never engage in verbal 'attacks' on other candidates, something Leafs find endlessly confusing in the outside world. The mayor of Leafgardentown is the retired noted film star Petal Posey (PL0/16pp, rose petal-Leaf). Running on a platform of increased charity work for the homeless non-Leafs of New York City, Ms. Posey won the election in a landslide. She's two months into a two year term of office.
Leafgardentown's citizenry are exempt from the normal mandatory Hegemonic military service every other mutantcitizen must undergo. (Leafs as soldiers is very laughable!)

As for the city’s citizenry:
99% Leafs, to no one’s surprise. But, Leafs are not the ONLY micro-sized mutants, as some dozen or so extremely tiny jellyfish-like Atlanteans dwell in Leafgardentown’s canals, Pebble (PL1/22pp, female Heavenshadow) is the naturally one-inch-tall protector of Leafgardentown and two size-warping Divided live here, also.

[Multiverse-wide]Degenerate and ascendant thoughtforms.

Post by Hoid »

[Multiverse-wide]Degenerate and ascendant thoughtforms.
Found exclusively in the Infinite Roots, degenerate and ascendant thoughtforms are thoughtforms either 'compressed' into mangled format ('degenerate') or expanded to a greater scale of functionality ('ascendant'). Degenerate thoughtforms dwell nearly exclusively in the Infinite Roots and the Outer Shell, while ascendant thoughtforms nigh universally live within the Beyond, the Outer Shell and Perpendicular-6
Placeholder.

What is a degenerate thoughtform?
A degenerate thoughtform is a thoughtform that has psychically 'devolved' into a much more bestial, partially solid state. Most degenerate thoughtforms either live in the Infinite Roots (‘thornbodied’) or the Outer Shell (‘clawbodied’).
Placeholder.
What are goldforms?
Goldforms are the least-corrupted degenerate thoughtforms. Goldforms still retain the celestial luster of their former mutability, but are more memetically coherent and, on average far less powerful than the average thoughtform.
Placeholder.
What are ironforms?
Less corrupt than stoneforms but more corrupted than goldforms, ironforms make up 85% of the entire degenerate thoughtform population! Crushed down under the metaphysical weight of the entire multiverse above, ironforms have lost all mutability and, in a crippling manner, have assumed a solid, permanent identity. Many are stark-raving Insane, and many others are too alien to comprehend.
In the rare instances ironforms manifest in the Forever Tree, it is usually a sign of disaster looming on the horizon.
Placeholder.
What are stoneforms?
Stoneform are the most-corrupted degenerate thoughtform. These mad, howling half-mad things cannot escape the tortured pressure of an entire multiverse and have gone insane in the process. Heavily mutated and fractured, stoneforms corride uncompressed reality just by existing within it.
When stormforms appear in the Forever Tree, it’s ALWAYS a sign something has horribly wrong.
Placeholder.

Can degenerate thoughtforms sire nephilim?
Placeholder.

What is an ascendant thoughtform?
An ascendant thoughtform is a thoughtform that has psychically 'evolved', losing even more physicality, but gaining immensely in power.
Placeholder.
What are godforms?
Godforms are ascendant thoughtforms of either good OR evil that have achieved the apex of their ascension, being a single step below the status of a cosmic entity or higher-order intelligence. This makes godforms immensely powerful, but their lack of even ephemeral substance means godforms must use natural phenomenon to work their immense powers through.
Placeholder.
What are devilforms?
Devilforms are malevolent ascendant thoughtforms that have forcibly consumed the soul of an Apkallu and thusly metamorphosed into a much more powerful shape.
Placeholder.
What are ghostforms?
Ghostforms are benevolent ascendant thoughtforms that have peacefully merged with the soul of a recently departed mundane human and thusly metamprphosed into a much more powerful shape. Ghostforms are sad, charred things, blistered from the inside out by the nevrokinetic ectoplasm they’ve consumed to fuel their metamorphosis.
Ghostforms’re often used as oracles by more mundane thoughtforms, as ghostforms have an uncanny knack for inadvertently foretelling the future through spontaneous free verse.
Placeholder.

Can ascendant thoughtforms sire nephilim?

[Earth-B]The Dream Moth and his nameless team!

Post by Hoid »

[Earth-B]the Dream Moth and his nameless team!
Surrounding and ‘protecting’ the Dream Moth are his six closest mutant friends, one Exotic ally and one mundane human wearing imwid-made power-armor. This means the nameless team of the Dream Moth has nine members, including the Earth-B imperiex, himself!

Absalom: the Dream Moth’s ceremonial bodyguard
Crunch Writeup:

PL10/155pp. Male Caucasian Benign Tumor mutant. With beautiful plummage for hair and talons sharp enough to slice through steel, Absalom ironically cannot fly, despite being an avian-feral: instead, Absalom is monstrously fast, being the 3rd-fastest superspeedster in the Earth-B universe!

Absalom is one of the Dream Moth’s oldest friends, knowing him back in his mundane human days. Absalom was there at the epicenter of the Ectoplasmc Pollination, and, as such, also had part of his consciousness broken off and solidified—which solidified into a Device knife that steals momentum from other things and entities and adds it to Absalom, himself!

Charioteer of the Sun: a Divided charioteer
Crunch Writeup:

Male black Divided mutant superhuman. Though considered quite hideous by human standards, few mutants on Earth-B possess as much raw power as Charioteer of the Sun. Burned as if by some great fire, Charioteer of the Sun’s Rider-body is crippled and in constant agony, and this Rider is so fragile it must stay connected to its Steed. And the Steed? The Steed is actually three Steeds, Linked together by what appears to be connecting tails and connecting mane-hair (but which is actually MUCH more durable). These ‘horses’ are bloated and seem incredibly ungainly, but, like a bobsled, they have internal cavities into which the Rider may be interred. Thus, the Rider-body ‘wears’ one of the Steeds, and telepathically controls the other two!

A ‘living bullet’, Charioteer of the Sun, at full speed, becomes nearly invincible and can ‘crash’ through almost anything or anyone. Like an apocalyptic cannonball, Charioteer of the Sun can topple skyscrapers, demolish entire armored divisions and even defeat the mos5 powerful of Purity-made Thralls.

the Dream Moth: the imperiex of Earth-B
Crunch Writeup:

Placeholder.

the Forestmother: Giantess high priest of the Oldgods Polity
Crunch Writeup:
HERE.
PL11/292pp. Female Giant mutant. A typical Giantess, the Forestmother is high priestess of and leader of the Hegemony’s Oldgods Polity, a neopagan sovereign territory nominally under the control of the Central Polity.

Infernal King: the Heavenshadow
Crunch Writeup:

PL15/250pp. Male Caucasian mutant superhuman. Infernal King, in addition to being a Heavenshadow, is also able to conjure lava and volcanic rock psychically, and then to grow by coating himself in this substance. Infernal King’s upper limit of size has yet to be determined, but he can easily stand eye-to-eye with one of the New Kaiju!
Placeholder.

Pilgrim: wearer of an imwid-made suit of power-armor
Crunch Writeup:

PL10/148pp. Real name is Claudia Amberose. Female Caucasian power-armored mundane human. Wearing a suit of imwid-made Explorator power armor, Pilgrim, Herself, is merely a mundane human. However, her alien power armor allows her to teleport to any place she’s already been, irregardless of dimension or distance. Note, Pilgrim cannot use this armor to visit totally new places, as, first, she must visit a location via some other method—-even as simple as a planeride or a trip on a train or car—-before it gets added to Pilgrim’s ‘list’ of teleport-spots.

Plaguedog: the Dream Moth's best friend
Crunch Writeup:
Here ye go!
PL1/21pp. Real name is Charlie Cast. Male unknown ethnicity Cyst Tumor mutant. Immortal but fragile and festering with every disease known to man, Plaguedog is a hideously deformed canine humanoid, crippled by his deformities. Only able to walk with the help of a walker, Plaguedog is a pitiful sight to behold...

...in reality, however, despite all this, Plaguedog stands in a position of endless possibility. Being the Dream Moth’s best friend, pre-Ectoplasmic Pollination and being one of the three beings to remember the Dream Moth’s real name and original appearance, Plaguedog is the most trusted of the Dream Moth’s Court. The Dream Moth places absolute trust in his old friend and would level mountains to protect Plaguedog.

Plaguedog, however, is hopelessly in love with the Dream Moth, but is crippled with insecurity and cannot bring himself to confess his feelings.

[Multiverse-wide]The Dreamingborn!

Post by Hoid »

the Dreamingborn: the avatars of the Earth.
Every parallel-Earth in the Forever Tree has a single, unique superhuman known as a 'Dreamingborn'... Born of the general collective unconsciousness of that parallel-Earth, a Dreamingborn is a thoughtform-turned human---sometimes a superhero, sometimes a supervillain!---that embodies that reality's current global situation.

All Dreamingborn are PL9/150pp. Each Dreamingborn is immortal, only killable if their parallel-Earth's wiped clean of all life. Each Dreamingborn has a unique set of powers, that reflect the superhumans and mundane societies' reaction to said superhumans.

Only parallel-Earths have Dreamingborn; no Perpendicular or Resonance has Dreamingborn. Furthermore, the Weavery commands that Elementals and Dreamingborn are drawn to each other, as both are a species of 'worlds' souls'.

Animal-bodied Dreamingborn are those of their ilk who infused themselves into a mundane animal corpse, 'resurrecting' it with themselves as the bodies' new memetic cores.
Placeholder.

Human-bodied Dreamingborn are those of their ilk who infused themselves into a mundane human corpse, 'resurrecting' it with themselves as the bodies' new memetic cores.
Placeholder.

Myth-bodied Dreamingborn are stories that congeal around a thoughtform, turning that Dreamingborn into a pale echo of the story in question---such as the Big Bad Wolf, Daffy Duck or Hercules. Myth-bodied Dreamingborn are only sometimes aware they're not legitimately the figure in question...some grow QUITE vocal they are the Entity they say they are!
Placeholder.

Plant-bodied Dreamingborn are somewhat akin to DC's character Swamp Thing, except on a majorly lower level of power!
Placeholder.

Protean-bodied Dreamimgborn are too incoherent to have a singular identity, instead being fluid accomplished shapechangers, to one degree or another.
Placeholder.

Psyche-bodied Dreamingborn are psychic entities without genuinely physicality, but nevertheless are majorly more stable than any thoughtform.
Placeholder.

Robot-bodied Dreamingborn have no bodies, having instead overwritten the software used by AI-equipped robots!
Placeholder.

Star-bodied Dreamingborn have used cohered light to simulate the coalescence of physicality.
Placeholder.

Xeno-bodied Dreamingborn are alien corpses reanimated by thoughtforms as their new memetic cores!
Placeholder.

Here are the Dreamingborn, by parallel-Earth:

Earth-A's Dreamingborn:
the Deceiver:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Ma'at. Male human-bodied Dreamingborn. The Deceiver is a liar without peer. Patterned after a generic Mayan deity, the Deceiver wears an elaborate stone headdress plumed with peacock-feathers. His ability to lie is a form of uber-specialized telepathy.
Placeholder.
"I know better than you. Trust me."
Earth-B's Dreamingborn:
Iconic Representation:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Pneuma. Female human-bodied Dreamingborn. Iconic Representation is a flying brick who grows stronger the more mundane humanity believes in and trusts her.
Placeholder.
"Trust me; I know what I'm doing!"
Earth-C's Dreamingborn:
the Five Girtabllilu-Bodies:
Crunch writeup:
Each body is PL7/141pp. Spiritname is Nergal. Gender varies by Girtabllilu-Body. The Five Girtablliliu-Bodies are five scorpion-human centauroid xeno-bodied Dreamingborn, each body controlled simultaneously by a single central sapient memetic Will. Placeholder.
"WE ARE HERE, NOW. SURRENDER."
Earth-D's Dreamingborn:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp.
Placeholder.

Earth-E's Dreamingborn:
the Ascendent Warriorlord:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Uther. Male myth-bodied Dreamingborn. A seven-armed swordsmaster/dueling virtuoso, with 'combat-telepathy' allowing him to predict the moves of his opponent(s).
Placeholder.

Earth-F's Dreamingborn:
Crunch writeup:
Placeholder.

Earth-G's Dreamingborn:
Here be the answers Ye seek, O traveler!

Earth-H's Dreamingborn:
Greenmonk:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Avolokiteshvera. Male plant-bodied Dreamingborn. Greenmonk is a human-shaped tree, carved by his own Will into his current shape. He was once in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery’s meditation-garden: he was converted to Tibetan Buddhism by the kind monks who helped him adjust to his strange new Manifestations.

Greenmonk is a chi-manipulating super-martial artist; also capable of shapeshifting into any plant-based humanoid form of either Medium or Small sizes.
Placeholder.

Earth-I's Dreamingborn:
Placeholder.

Earth-J's Dreamingborn:
Placeholder.

Earth-K's Dreamingborn:
Princely Perfection:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Jack o' the Stalk. Male human-bodied Dreamingborn. Born of the human desire to throw off Godgiants domination, Jack o’ the Stalk is an Errol Flynn Robin Hood-figure, dashing and good-looking and quite a flirt with the ladies! Jack knows no fear and doesn’t back down from a fight, even the most unfair battles slanted against him.

Princely Perfection is a brick with low-key mind control powers. These powers only work on those beings with protean unDNA, meaning they only work on Earth-K’s Half-Giants and Manifold Giants and Earth-L’s biosculpts, Demiogres and Ogres! Placeholder.

Earth-L's Dreamingborn:
Mot the Godtamer:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Ur-kurru. Male xeno-bodied Dreamingborn. Mot the Godtamer can call Ogres by singing...but he cannot control them!
Placeholder.
"Ogres are more than simple beasts. I have my suspicions, regarding just how sentient they might really be."
Earth-M's Dreamingborn:
Hag-Blooded Crone:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Scathach. Female animal-bodied Dreamingborn. Taking the form of a gigantic and bloody sea snake with the ability to speak, Hag-Blooded Crone is a ‘trickster-archetype’ being, who exists to make other people miserable and advanced the cause of the various Dreamcities and Dreamers.

A reality-manipulating 'witch', Hag-Blooded Crone requires dirt or sand or soil to access her powers.

As she is NOT an Earth-M Dreamer (an important distinction) she has no Dream defining her whole Being.
Placeholder.

Earth-N's Dreamingborn:
Root and Ruin:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Ceres. Technically male plant-bodied Dreamingborn. More an infection that a being, Root and Ruin is a sentient kudzu vine capable of potentially infinite growth.

Root and Ruin is a ever-expanding biokinetic plant-being.
Placeholder.

Earth-O's Dreamingborn:
the Balance Between:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Eris. Female psyche-bodied Dreamingborn. Existing as a 'balance' between the Abysmal Darkness and his celestial brother, the Balance Between is a telepath and a skilled probability-manipulator.
Placeholder.

Earth-P's Dreamingborn:
Dynamo Undying:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Hyperion. Male star-bodied Dreamingborn. A magnakinetic powerhouse!
Placeholder.

Earth-Q's Dreamingborn:
Placeholder.

Earth-R's Dreamingborn:
Placeholder.

Earth-S's Dreamingborn:
the Warbringer:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Athena. Female human-bodied Dreamingborn. A swordswoman who cannot be killed in a fair fight. Placeholder.

Earth-T's Dreamingborn:
Placeholder.

Earth-U's Dreamingborn:
the Graceful and Wicked Masks:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Galatea. 'Female' robot-bodied Dreamingborn. Illusion-weaver reliant on 77 small Demimachine masks. Placeholder.

Earth-V's Dreamingborn:
Wilde-Man:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Kong. Male animal-bodied Dreamingborn. Ape-feral; plus, regeneration.
Placeholder.

Earth-W's Dreamingborn:
Clowncloud:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Proteus. Male animal-bodied Dreamingborn. Clownfish-feral who can turn intangible by assuming the shape of a human-sized raincloud.
Placeholder.

Earth-X's Dreamingborn:
Neverwar:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Gyges. Male psyche-bodied Dreamingborn.
Placeholder.

Earth-Y's Dreamingborn:
the Wulf:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is Cerberuus. Male animal-bodied Dreamingborn.

AEsir's Gift weakens in the Wulf's corrosive evil presence...!
Placeholder.

Earth-Z's Dreamingborn:
Amesoara, He who Embodies the Sun and the Moon:
Crunch writeup:
PL9/150pp. Spiritname is ur-armara Sa-Amesoara. Male ''Spore' Dreamingborn. Not actually a 'Spore, but rather a Dreamingborn, Amesoara (He who Embodies the Sun and the Moon) is a brick who can emit killing levels of radioactivity OR safely absorb killing levels of radioactivity with equal ease!

[Earth-B]Currently existing countries!

Post by Hoid »

Earth-B: Currently existing countries.
MAJOR COUNTRIES:
Placeholder.

the Eastern Bear Republic: The eastern remnant of Russia.
Full Name: The People's Free and Democratic East Russian Republic.
Human Population: 36 million.
Mutant Population: Less than 12 thousand.
Stance?: Neutral.
Geography: Huge chunks of easternmost,,still-livable Siberia, along with bits of Mongolia.
Language(s): Officially, Russian. Other Eastern European languages are widely spoken, also.
Government: Communist dictatorship thinly veiled beneath democratic soundbites.
Ruler(s): Premiere Yaroslav Vitkin (PL3/66pp; male mundane human) is the 'democratically elected' dictator-for-life of the Eastern Bear Republic.
Military: A fairly strong force, the EBR has recently begun toying with the idea of a division full of mutants, only. As you might expect, this is a controversial move unpopular with a lot of EBR citizens.
Political Relationships: The remnants of Russia still talk to each other, but the dying Russian 'superpower' is now lingering on in the face of the inevitable.
Religion(s): Predominantly Russian Orthodox Christians, with sizable Jewish and Muslim minority communities. Dreaming Shamanism is completely illegal.
Special Notes: The Eastern Bear Republic is slowly on the rise, but carefully consolidates any new holdings before continuing outward.
Plus, a small number of Manifold Giants from Earth-K dwell here, masquerading as Earth-B Giants!

/-

Gardenia: A Wiccan micro-polity.

/-

Giantsteading: The world's most powerful city-state.
Full Name: The Shining City of Giantsteading.
Human Population: n/a.
Mutant Population: 697 Giants; 12 thousand others.
Stance?: Pro-mutant.
Geography: Just south of the ruins of Seattle, Washington, US of A.
Language(s): English, universally-speaking.
Government: Direct democracy with a symbolic monarchy.
Ruler(s): His Gigantic Majesty King Oswald Roland (PL12/270pp; male Giant) is the figurehead 'ruler' of Giantsteading. Once much more politically active, the death of Oswald's wife has sent the king into a tailspin of deep abiding depression. Oswald spends much of his time either drunk or sleeping.
Military: Every Giant and Giantess in Giantsteading, even the children, possess immense raw power. Despite numbering less than 700-strong, the Giants of the Metroplolis of Titans are more than capable of successfully holding off even the largest armies...
Political Relationships: Giantsteading is firmly allied with the Hegemony and the Silent Columns of the Monolithic, but standard aloof from all others. (As an aside, the Dream Moth is, in addition to the ruler of the Hegemony, a full citizen of Giantsteading. [He holds no authority here, though.])
Religion(s): Atheism, among Giants; all other religions are given free reign to preach and worship, save for anti-mutant religious creeds.
Special Notes: A single Earth-L Ogresymbiont lives here, stranded after several adventures with the Beyonder. She masquerades as an Earth-B Giantess!

/-

the Hegemony: The mutant 'empire'.
Full Name: The Hegemony of Mutant States.
Human Population: 60 million.
Mutant Population: 9 million (600 Divided; 22 Giants; 3.8 thousand Heavenshadows; 2 million Leafs; 2 thousand Mentats; 2 friendly New Kaiju; 4 million Tumors).
Stance?: Pro-mutant, obviously!
Geography: Much of the old US of A.
Language(s): English is the official language of the entire Hegemony; however, being as multicultural as it is, plenty of other languages are spoken on a daily basis.
Government: Loose alliance of pro-mutant countries.
Ruler(s): The Dream Moth (PLX/996pp; male unique mutant imperiex) is the Hegemony's king, but, the fact is each Hegemonic state governs itself. Only in times of war would the Dream Moth be given genuine authority; during peacetime (such as nowadays!), the position of king is purely symbolic.
Military: Varies by polity.
Political Relationships: The Hegemony (as a whole) considers any/all pro-mutant countries at least tenuous allies. The Purity, however, is THE greatest source of condemnation by Hegemonic citizens; many hardliners've been clamoring for renewed hostilities.
Religion(s): Officially, none. However, neither does the Hegemony, as a whole, promulgate atheism. Faith is, in the Dream Moth's eyes, not a matter of government regulation. Anti-mutant faiths, however, are banned, viewedhowever more as a security issue than a theological dilemma.
Special Notes: Laws in the Hegemony CLEARLY favor mutants, and anti-mutant groups are HARSHLY cracked down upon at the slightest hint of trouble. This has had the effect of actually strengthening anti-mutant resentment among Hegemonic humans.

the Bordering Polity: The mutant space program/offworlders colonies.
Full Name: The Sovereign Habitats of the Bordering Polity.
Human Population: 12 thousand.
Mutant Population: 600-some.
Stance?: Pro-mutant, obviously!
Geography: Outer space, obviously!
Language(s): English.
Government: Loose coalition of habitat captains; each captain is elected by their crew.
Ruler(s): Placeholder.
Military: None. There's just not a need for it, or even the ability to really create one!
Political Relationships:
Religion(s): Atheism, though it's not really due to philosophy. Aboard a habitat, space is premium, so areas for worship are, as yet, a luxury few can afford.
Special Notes: The Orbital Man is perhaps the most famous and ill-tempered citizen of the Bordering Polity.
Right now, the Bordering Polity and the Titans' Polity are jointly planning a colonization effort on Mars.

-//-\\-

the Central Polity: The beating heart of the Hegemony.
Full Name: The People's Democratically-Elected Central Polity.
Human Population: 23 million.
Mutant Population:
Stance?: Pro-mutant, obviously!
Geography: Most of the American Midwest.
Language(s): English.
Government: Democratically-elected oligarchy with constitutional monarchy.
Ruler(s): His Majesty King Dream Moth I (PLX/996pp; male unique mutant imperiex), Heir to Evolution and Prince of Mutation, officially rules the Central Hegemony as its popularly-acclaimed monarch.
In reality, however, the Dream Moth is mostly just a figurehead; instead, a democratically-elected, 13-member Planning Committee holds most of the reins of genuine political power.
Military: The Central Polity prides itself on having the 2nd-largest military in the Hegemony. Answering to a subcouncil of the Planning Committee, this Central Armed Force mostly performs border duties, these days. Many among the CAF are itching to invade The Purity...so far, cooler heads have prevailed.
Political Relationships: The Central Hegemony does its level best to maintain Harmony between all member-polities of the greater Hegemony, viewing itself as the social clue holding the Hegemony together.
Religion(s): Protestant Christianity (especially the Leaf-founded Turning Over Anew Ministries) accounts for most of the populace. However, the Central Polity allows for religious freedoms. However, groups with direct ties to The Purity are outlawed (though for political, rather than religious, reasons).
Special Notes: Leafgardentown, the largest Leaf 'city' in the whole world, is found in the Central Polity. Placeholder.

-//-\\-

the Deepbelow Polity: Literally below your feet.
Full Name: The Subterranean Corporate Enclaves of the Deepbelow Polity.
Human Population: 6 million.
Mutant Population: Only a few thousand (99% Tumor, 0.5% Hulkbeasts, 0.5% other).
Stance?: Pro-mutant, obviously!
Geography: Most of the American Southwest—-though almost all of it is underground! With min8ng being the Deepbelow Polity’s chief economic source, living underground simply makes more sense.
Language(s): English.
Government: Coalition of state-sponsored mutant-owned mega-corporations.
Ruler(s): This is a very hard question to answer, and that answer ultimately is: no one individual group. Itself a decentralized corporate-run nation, the various Boards of the top thirty corporations in the Deepbelow Polity jointly make decisions. This means decision-making is slow, ponderous and ungainly.
Military: Mercenaries! With the sheer amount of money it’s exports bring in, the Deepbelow Polity has the cash to have a virtually entirely freelance military. In a controversial move, the Deepbelow Polity Even has a squad of reprogrammed Sentries!
Political Relationships: Strongly allied with the other Hegemonic polities, especially the Bordering Polity.
Religion(s): Atheism. There's a strongly anti-religious sentiment in the Deepbelow Polity, as loyalty to 'the team' is emphasized over all other factors in life!
Special Notes: A few dimensionally stranded Demiogres from Earth-L are in the Deepbelow Polity and survive by masquerading as Earth-B Giants!

-//-\\-

the Farmers' Polity: Providing food to the Hegemony---and the WORLD!
Full Name: The Economic Alliance of the Farmers' Polity.
Human Population: 3.9 million.
Mutant Population: 28,000 (50% Tumors, 20% Hulkbeasts, 20% Leafs, 5% Heavenshadows, 5% other).
Stance?: Pro-mutant, obviously!
Geography: Most of the former American Bible Belt.
Language(s): English.
Government: Loose alliance of mutant-run biotechnology megacorporations.
Ruler(s): The Farmers’ Polity is in much the same boat as the Deepbelow Polity, but the situation is eased by the Farmers’ Polity’s military policy.
Military: None. This isn’t to say the Farmers’ Polity is undefended. Instead, the Central Polity has troops stationed just about everywhere here. This gives the Planning Committee of the Central Polity immense clout in the Farmers’ Polity.
Political Relationships: Strongly allied with every Hegemonic polity.
Religion(s): Atheism. Though citizens can certainly believe whatever they want and religious institutions pay much lower taxes than everyone else, in the Farmers' Polity's cutthroat 'corporate jungle', religious belief has never been terribly strongly felt.
Special Notes: Most of the Hegemony's foods and medicines come from the Farmers' Polity. The Dream Moth recognizes the weakness this represents, but creating new food-production facilities is not as simple as many think it is! Placeholder.

-//-\\-

the Guardwalls Polity: The Hegemony's military.
Full Name: The Sovereign and Defensive Polity of the Guarding Walls.
Human Population:
Mutant Population:
Stance?: Pro-mutant, obviously!
Geography: The Rocky Mountains, in the US of A.
Language(s): English.
Government: Militaristic republic.
Ruler(s): A democratically-elected Senate, headed by a Presiding Officer (currently one Madcap Jim Argo [PL13/160pp; male Heavenshadow able to breathe and exist indefinitely under the water]). However, to be elected as either Senator or Presiding Officer, one both must be a mutant and a Guardswall military veteran now cycled out to civilian life.
Military: Military zeal and a warrior ethic permeates every single aspect of Guardwalls Polity society; meaning, the Guardwalls Polity has the largest military among the individual polities.
Political Relationships: The Guardwalls Polity has a brotherly attitude towards the Hegemony's other polities, feeling a kind of fraternal affection that prompts a social attitude of constant military preparedness.
Of significant interest to the Guardwalls Polity is New Eden. Acting to keep The Purity focused on European endeavors, New Eden has received substantial economic aid from the Guardwalls Polity.
Religion(s): As the Guardwalls Polity funnels huge amounts of cash to prop up New Eden, it should come as no surprise the Orthodox and True Catholic Church dominates religious life, here.
Special Notes: Placeholder.

-//-\\-

the Oldgods Polity: Paganism, restored.
Full Name: The True Faith of the People's Archeoliving Communes.
Human Population: 12 million.
Mutant Population:
Stance?: Pro-mutant, obviously!
Geography: The former state of Washington, US of A.
Language(s): English.
Government: Hereditary theocracy.
Ruler(s): High Priestess Forestmother (PL11/290pp; female Giant) is more-or-less the absolute monarch of the Oldgods Polity. However, Forestmother's duties are overwhelmingly religious in nature, ergo, she has little time for politics. Forestmother is a Dianic Wiccan; her husband, Forestfather (PL6/100pp; male Malignant Tumor telepath), is her ritual counterpart in Wiccan 'Workings'.
Military:
Political Relationships: As you might expect, relations between the Oldgods Polity and New Eden can best be described as 'frosty' and 'barely civil'. However, the Oldgods Polity and the micro-polity of Gardenia tightly allied, militarily, economically and culturally.
Religion(s): Polytheism, irregardless of creed or scripture or belief, is the official state 'meta-religion', and the Oldgods Polity's laws blatantly reflect that ideal. Among neo-pagans, Wicca is a perennial favorite. Dreaming Shamanism has begun to take root, much to the Dream Moth's great embarrassment.
Special Notes: To be a politician in the Oldgods Polity, being a holy man/holy woman definitely helps, as the citizenry is so deeply religious.
In the wilderness of the Oldgods Polity, a great many Hulkbeasts make a home. They are protected by law, and're often the subject of religious devotion!
A few Earth-J pooka diverhosts were stranded in the Oldgods Polity as a result of an incident involving a Malignant Tumor reality-manipulator and a Tlolkku dimension-shifting machine. These pooka diverhosts are xenophobic in the extreme, and outsiders incorrectly assume they are Hulkbeasts!

-//-\\-

the Titans' Polity (Polity Zero): The industrial foundation upon which the entire Hegemony rests.
Full Name:
Human Population:
Mutant Population:
Stance?: Pro-mutant, obviously!
Geography: Much of what was once Mexico.
Language(s): Spanish. The Titans' Polity is unique in that it is the only Hegemonic polity to not have English as its official language.
Government: Mutant-run corporate oligarchy.
Ruler(s):
Military:
Political Relationships:
Religion(s):
Special Notes: The ONLY place on Earth where AIs are legal AND recognized fully as citizenry is the Titans' Polity. This is INCREDIBLY controversial in the other Hegemonic polities.
Right now, the Titans' Polity and the Bordering Polity are preparing for a colonization effort on Mars. Placeholder.

/-

the Imperial Collective: The remnants of China.
Full Name: The Imperial Collective of Heavenly Mandated Reformed China.
Human Population: 550,000,000.
Mutant Population:
Stance?: Too varied to list, here.
Geography: Large chunks of northern and eastern China.
Language(s): Various dialects of Chinese.
Government: Anarchic alliance of feuding warlords, corporate moguls and Legalist fanatics.
Ruler(s): Priemere Li Wu Shan (PL0/33pp mundane human), crippled, confined to a wheelchair and under constant medical supervision, rules the largest chunk of the Imperial Collective, making Li the closest thing the country has to a reigning head of state.
Military: Militarily the Imperial Collective is as disorganized and decentralized (read: fractured) as it is politically and economically.
Political Relationships: A chaotic mess, really.
Religion(s): Atheism...officially. However, Buddhism and Taoism are so deeply entrenched in Chinese culture the various petty potentates of the Imperial Collective've literally given up trying to suppress them.
Special Notes: The now mutant-run Shaolin Monastery is a POWERFUL force in Imperial Collective politics.

/-

Labyrinth: Hidden city-state of human/alien hybrids.
Full Name: Imwid Outpost #333653333.
Human Population: Technically, none. See below.
Alien Population: Technically, none. In practice, however,
AI Population:
Stance?: n/a.
Geography:
Language(s): eYfoer (an imwid language).
Government: AI-assisted oligarchic dictatorship.
Ruler(s):
Military:
Political Relationships: None; Labyrinth zealously avoids contact with the outside world, often to the verge of xenophobia.
Religion(s): Imwidaan pantheism, a nameless reverence for existence, itself, infuses every level of Labyrinthian society.
Special Notes: Placeholder.

/-

New Eden: Beacon of freedom amidst The Purity's tyranny.
Full Name: The Joyous Refuge of New Eden..
Human Population: 160,000.
Mutant Population: 1,299 (50% Leaf, 10% Giants, 10% Heavenshadows, 10% Tumor, 5% Oneirics, 5% Atlanteans, 10% other).
Stance?: Pro-mutant.
Geography:
Government: Theocracy.
Ruler(s): Her Holiness Magna Mater Acquarone (PL1/60pp; female mundane human) is pontiff of New Eden, following her husband's tragic death, and her son's recruitment by the Star Corps.
Military: Being Christian pacifists by belief, New Eden would love to disband its army---...but with The Purity hammering their defenses every few days, New Eden cannot afford to do so!
Political Relationships: New Eden receives huge aid packages from the Hegemony's Guardwalls Polity every three or four months; as a result, New Eden knows that, should The Purity come, the Guardwalls Polity will intervene on New Eden's behalf!
Religion(s): Though New Eden happily accepts citizens of nearly any faith, the state religion of New Eden is, as you might imagine, Orthodox and True Catholicism. Religion is built into New Edenite civilization on a fundamental level.
Special Notes: Placeholder.

/-

the Northern Bear Republic: The northern remnant of Russia.
Full Name: The Royal Institute of Republican Science.
Human Population: 13 million.
Mutant Population:
Stance?: Pro-mutant.
Government: Technocratic bureaucracy. Science is king!
Ruler(s): Prime Scientist Helgga Rustovich (PL10/151pp; female Malignant Tumor super-genius/cyberkinetic) rules the Northern Bear Republic with an iron hand. Blatantly showing favoritism to mutant citizenry and responsible for countless human rights violations, Helgga is often used by The Purity as an example of how 'evil' mutants are.
Military: Non-sentient combat-robots commanded by mutant officers make up the vast majority of NBR soldiery.
Politcal Relationships: Despite being both run by mutants, for mutants, relations between the Hegemony and the Northern Bear Republic are...strained. The NBR's openly anti-human society goes so far beyond the pale that even the most dedicated Hegemonic hardliner blanches in dismay.
Religion(s): Atheism is not only state-mandated, it is ruthlessly enforced.
Special Notes: Placeholder.

/-

The Purity: Anti-mutant tyranny cloaked under a thin religious coating.
Full Name: The Pure League of Sacred Homo Sapiens.
Human Population: 2.5 million.
Mutant Population: Virtually none, aside from over a thousand mutilated and 'borg'd-up Thralls.
Stance?: Anti-mutant; openly endorses genocide of the mutant species.
Geography: Italy, Greece and most of the Mediterranean region.
Government: Theocratic militocracy.
Ruler(s): Leading The Purity is the autocratic and insane Sentry known only as Our Father (PL13/262pp; male uber-Sentry). Our Father is part warchieftain, part 'prime minister' and part 'Messiah'. By sheer force of will, Our Father has kept The Purity going for decades. Our Father is the Sentry Exemplar, too, meaning he's of great cosmic importance (though he doesn't realize it)!
Military: Everything is military-related in The Purity: even religion! A mandatory draft has been in effect since The Purity’s foundation, and even clergy are not exempt. Luckily, for most citizens, this mandatory service is for four years only.
Political Relationships: The Purity is on its last legs and is desperate for any sympathetic human nation to help prop it up. Sadly, even other anti-mutant countries are DEEPLY unnerved by The Purity's deep cultural monomania....
Religion(s): Roman Catholicism is the state religion, BUT, The Purity welcomes any and ALL anti-mutant faiths.
Special Notes: The Purity is perpetually on the verge of falling apart, held together only by the tyrannical hand of Our Father.

/-

the Rising Sun Protectorate: The remnants of Japan.
Full Name: The Reborn Japanese Protectorate of the Rising Sun..
Human Population: 22 million.
Mutant Population: 60 thousand.
Stance?: Pro-mutant.
Geography: All of Japan, plus a great chunk of Oceana.
Government: Imperial monarchy.
Ruler(s): Democracy is gone, in Japan; the emperor has returned to power. Emperor Tengu (PL10/150pp; male Heavenshadow) rules like a god from on high.
Military: A strong military is the key to the RSP’s success. They’ve become expansionist again, with wars underway in Southeast Asia.
Political Relationships: The Hegemony is the trading-partner with the Rising Sun Protectorate; both countries've even signed mutual defense treaties!
Religion(s): The Rising Sun Protectorate is overwhelmingly Buddhist and Shinto, even after all this time.
Special Notes: Placeholder.

/-

the Silent Columns of the Monolithic: The 'reincarnation' of Las Vegas.
Full Name: The Silent Columns of the Monolithic.
Human Population: 12 (all members of the Murmur Priesthood).
Mutant Population: 67 (12 Monolithic, 55 others [49 of of these mutants belong to the Murmur Priesthood]).
Stance?: Pro-mutant.
Geography:
Government: Meditative religious direct democracy.
Ruler(s): n/a.
Military:
Political Relationships:
Religion(s): Gnostic Christianity ('the Murmur Priesthood').
Special Notes: Placeholder.

/-

the Southern Bear Republic: The southern remnant of Russia.
Full Name: n/a.
Human Population:
Mutant Population:
Stance?: Neutral.
Geography:
Government: Anarchic tribalism, 'united' behind a thin facade of a monarchy.
Ruler(s):
Military:
Political Relationships: The remnants of Russia still talk to each other, but the dying Russian 'superpower' is now lingering on in the face of the inevitable.
Religion(s): Religiously, the Southern Bear Republic is a giant, heaving mess; sectarian conflicts only add fuel to the fire.
Special Notes: A hidden series of Heavenshadow villages cluster near and in the Ural Mountains.

/-

the Western Bear Republic: The western remnant of Russia.
Full Name: The Democratic Republic of Western Russia.
Human Population: 99 million (scattered thinly).
Mutant Population:
Stance?: Anti-mutant.
Geography: Westernmost Russia, as well as large chunks of Eastern Europe.
Government: Highly corrupt 'democracy', openly run by remnants of the Old Russian military.
Ruler(s): General Yuregen 'the Grim Father' Ilborg (PL9/141pp; male Sentry), an old Purity Sentry of Russian extraction is the uncontested ruler of the Western Bear Republic, though he persists in propping up the illusion his country is a democracy.
Political Relationships: The remnants of Russia still talk to each other, but the dying Russian 'superpower' is now lingering on in the face of the inevitable.
Religion(s): Russian Orthodox Christianity, mostly; there is a strong Muslim minority, too.
Special Notes:

- -- --- ---- ----- ------ ------- -------- --------- ----------

MINOR COUNTRIES:
Placeholder.

the Kingdom of Tibet: Hope for a better tomorrow hidden in the Himalayas.
Full Name: The Incarnate Kingdom of Reborn Tibet.
Human Population:
Mutant Populatiom:
Stance?: Pro-mutant.
Geography: The city of Lhasa and its immediate environs.
Language(s): Tibet; Mongolian and various dialects of Chinese are prevalent.
Government: Theocracy.
Ruler(s): His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Political Relationships:
Religion(s): Tibetan Buddhism, obviously!
Special Notes:

/-

the Neo-Golden Horde: The time of the khans has come again!
Full Name: The Neo-Golden Horde of the Empire of United Mongolia.
Theme Song: “Yuve Yuve Yu” by the Hu.
Human Population:
Mutant Population:
Stance?: Pro-mutant, though more out of military necessity than any genuine tolerance!
Geography: ALL of Mongolia, as well as parts of China and tiny bits of Tibet.
Language(s): Officially, Mongolian. However, several dialects of Chinese are widely spoken, as is English (a carry-over from generations of Western missionaries).
Government: Militocracy..
Ruler(s): Khan of Khans Tengri (PL9/141pp; male mundane human) rose to control the Neo-Golden Horde by catering to the Heavenshadow mutants that sparsely dot the Mongolian countryside. He has named a Heavenshadow boy as his successor; with the Heavenshadows' loyalty secured, Tengri went on to forge an empire!
Political Relationships:
Religion(s): Surprisingly, by this point, most in the Neo-Golden Horde are Christian, generations of missionary-work finally paying off. As the Neo-Golden Horde is a warlike conquest-driven empire, their true devotion to Christian doctrine is...suspect, to say the least.
Special Notes: Despite the vast amount of territory it possesses, the Neo-Horde is almost entirely dependent on its Heavenshadows for both offense AND defense. This attitude will no doubt lead to the Horde's sudden fall...

/-

the Wyld: Adopted 'homeland' of Hulkbeasts.
This really isn't a country, but cartographers treat it as such. Nearly a quarter million Hulkbeasts live here, in the shattered ruins of the American East Coast, living in savage pseudo-'tribes'.

- -- --- ---- ----- ------ ------- -------- --------- ----------

NO MAN'S LANDS:
The following regions are, even to this day, uninhabited hellscapes.

Australia:
The anti-mutant forces that later on gelled to become The Purity unleashed retroviral warheads on pro-mutant Australia, leading to out-of-control mutations among the populace; many turned into flesh-eating cannibals, whereas others became hideously deformed and yet still others died in horror from their physical degenerations.

The Australian people are fighting a valiant war, even today, to retake their home from lab-created monstrosities, but the battle is uphill and shows no signs of letting up.

the Indian subcontinent:
When the Mutation Wars erupted, India and Pakistan both panicked, nuking each other off the map. Tens of millions of refugees flooded into Africa and the Middle East; hundreds of millions more, however, died in the nuclear exchange.

To this day, the Indian subcontinent is a toxic, unlivable wasteland.

Anteaus of the Blackened Earth is a citizen of England, and his Royal Assemblage is Bound to remain therein. This Royal Assemblage manifests as humanoid stags and does with the heads of giant blue roses wearing clothing popular in the Ancient Greek city-states of long ago.

Anteaus' Dream is, "The earth and I are one, though fire will always try to separate us!" Placeholder.

the Hobgoblin:
Crunch writeup:
PL6/90pp. Real name is Adrian Vanir. Male super-archer Moonbound. The Hobgoblin may transform random junk into a combat-worthy bow, and may transform other bits of debris into arrows. The Hobgoblin may also jump incredible distances, even WITHOUT a running start.

The Hobgoblin is a naturalized American citizen, originally from Sweden. As a Moonbound, he has NO Royal Assemblage; furthermore, the Hobgoblin has NO Dream, being defined by free will than by mere existence.

The Hobgoblin is a member of the Sungods, a multiverse-spanning superhero-team. Placeholder.

Omega, the Last Destroyer:
Crunch writeup:
PL16/302pp. Dreamname is Innana. Female tactile uber-telekinetic warthog oneirofaun. With a skeletal pig's head and antlers made of fire-blackened wood, Omega (the Last Destroyer) is one of the most powerful non-cosmic entity tactile telekinetics in the entire Forever Tree. Physically quite frail, being rail-thin and even anemic, this vast power catches everyone off-guard.

Omega is American. Her Royal Assemblage is small, being only a perpetually mute trio of 'knights in shining armor' made entirely of unmelting ice.

Omega's Dream is, "I am the strongest Being of all, though few will believe me." Placeholder.

the Rhyming Beast:
Crunch writeup: Here!!!
PL10/150pp. Dreamname is Anu. The Rhyming Beast is a male color-controlling psychokinetic bird of paradise oneirofaun.

The Rhyming Beast is Welsh. The Rhyming Beast's Dream is, "I may control all colors by my talons and beak!" Placeholder.

Titan has no citizenship, as such things are too 'mundane' for her liking! Titan's Dream is "I am the tallest Being of all!" Placeholder.

[The Rootthrone]the Lamassu!

Post by Hoid »

The Rootthrone: the Lamassu!
What're the Lamassu?
Created from raw Useful Oblivion by automated processes set in motion 15 billion years ago by the Worldfather, the Lamassu are borderline-cosmic entities charged with guarding the Rootthrone and the nameless blind idiot god who sings out the Weavery. This is their only purpose, and only a very select few have the privilidge of being allowed past Lamassu sentries.

Are Lamassu thoughtforms, and can they have nephilim children with human partners?
No, Lamassu are not thoughtforms: they are entirely corporeal, have distinct 'identities' and do not embody concepts of various kinds. Furthermore, Lamassu cannot sire or bear offspring: the Rootthrone will produce more Lamassu as is needed.

What is 'the Terrestrial Mandate'?
The Terrestrial Mandate is the order to protect the Weavery and the nameless being that babbles it forth at all costs. Most who enter the Rootthrone are immediately attacked by the Lamassu.

What powers do the Lamassu possess?
It really depends on the Lamassu in question:

The Cosmic Beast (PL19/445pp) is an animal-based shapechanger on steroids. Technically male.

The Destroyer (PL20/450pp) is a psychokinetic, able to both use massive telekinesis, along with generating/controlling HUGE amounts of various kinds of energy. Technically male.

The Meister (PL24/991pp) can form epic force constructs out of sound, vibration and motion. Technically male, the Meister is leader of the Lamassu.

The Sun-Swami (PL15/445pp) can alter reality itself through complex and exhausting dances/songs. Technically female.

The Swan (PL18/445pp) is a telepath of the highest order, also possessing indestructible iron wings with infinitely-sharp feathers. Technically female.

What happens when a Lamassu dies?
As no Lamassu has ever died, even the Lamassu themselves aren't sure. They do have memetic cores ('souls') and so theoretically would simply go to the Primordial Deep. Still...no one is sure.

How many Lamassu are there?
Only four Lamassu and one ur-Lamassu have ever been needed. More can be spontaneously generated, if needed, but this has never happened...

Who leads the Lamassu? Who gave them their Terrestrial Mandate?
The Lamassu follow an 'ur-Lamassu' known as 'the Meister'. Like his subordinates, the Meister is fanatical in his duties---never tiring, never getting lazy or careless. As the Lamassu are borderline-cosmic entities, the Meister is a full cosmic entity!

As to who gave them their Terrestrial Mandate, that's simple: the Worldfather; He-who-is-now-Dead.

[Earth-G]Witchlands!

Post by Hoid »

These three witchlands all share one quality: they're evil, and good men should not be here...

Infamous witchlands:
The Black Labyrinth:
Found in the Carpathians, the Black Labyrinth has seen countless evils performed there over a great many ages; after it became a witchland, it saw that evil awake and will itself into psychic permanency.
Powers: [72pp.]
Ghastly Noises: Enhanced Skills: Intimidate +4. [1pp.] Features 1 (horrid, skin-crawling, demonic noises). [1pp.] — [2pp.]
Walk the Labyrinth, Turn to Darkness: Mental Transform 10 (any good to any evil). [70pp.]
----/::This is a completed Black Labyrinth build.
The Black Labyrinth is White Wolf's Black Spiral, retooled for a supers setting.
The Earthen Tomb of the Lyricist:
Inanna traveled into the Underworld to rescue Tammuz. Orpheus descended into Hades to bring back his wife. Some even believe Jesus, during his three-day death, descended to Hell to liberate lost souls. Found in Greece, the Earthen Tomb of the Lyrist echoes these legends, though it's doubtful it really leads to Hell.
Powers: [3pp.]
Hellmouth: Super-Movement 1 (dimensional movement 1 [the Outer-ring of Gnosis]; Extras: Portal). [3pp.]
----/::This is a completed Earthen Tomb of the Lyricist build.
It does NOT lead you to Hades, but rather...somewhere else, much further afield...!
The Nothinggardens:
Found in Rome, Italy, right next to St. Michael's Cathedral, the Nothinggardens have the unique distinction of being the ONLY witchlands considered holy by Mother Church. A swath of inky void, the Nothinggardens have the unique ability to dampen powers granted by the Green Star.
Powers: [55pp.]
An Absence of Powers: Nullify 3 (all Green Star-related powers; Flaws: Full Power). [21pp.]
A Yawning Garden of Oblivion: Darkness Control 8 (Extras: Area [cloud], Progression 3 [area of effect]; Flaws: Full Power). [19pp.] Dazzle 6 (sound, only; Extras: Area [cloud], Progression 3 [area of effect]; Flaws: Full Power; Quirk: Manifests as a Zone of Absolute Silence). [15pp.] --- [34pp.]
----/::This is a completed Nothinggardens build.
Holy Mother Church rigorously controls the Nothinggardens and uses them to hold particularly recalcitrant Starborn, prior to any trials and/or executions.

[Earth-G]Witchlands!

Post by Hoid »

Infamous witchlands:
The Forest-under-the-Forest:
The Beast of Sherwood is assisted in its violent task by the fact a large chunk of Sherwood Forest is now a witchland. Known as the Forest-under-the-Forest, this witchland is accessible by those affected by the Green Star, only. A shadowy mirror-image of Sherwood, the Forest-under-the-Forest has trees with bark made of copper. Those in the Forest-under-the-Forest may gather a "charge" from these trees; upon leaving the witchland, this charge can be "vented" in a thundering and explosive breath-weapon.

This has led many to mistakenly label the Beast of Sherwood as a Starborn. That this breath weapon may only be used once every 77 hours (no matter how often one visits the Forest-under-the-Forest) has yet to be deduced.

[Since this is NOT a character, but rather a literal part of the setting...HERE are the stats...]

The Forest-under-the-Forest:
Powers: [12pp.]
Coppery Trees: Blast 4 (electric breath weapon; Extras: Affects Others, Area [cone]; Flaws: Only Affects Others, Unreliable [can only be used once every 77 hours]). [8pp.]
Spiritfood: Features 1 (able to comfortably sustain oneself on leaves of copper; Extras: Affects Others; Flaws: Only Affects Others). [1pp.]
Spiritways: Transmit 3 (medium: Sherwood Forest; Extras: Affects Others; Flaws: Only Affects Others). [3pp.]
----/::This is a completed Forest-under-the-Forest build.
