Enemy: Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Sandman, Mysterio, Electro, The Chameleon, The Kingpin, Mr. Negative, Rhino, Kraven the Hunter and on and on...
Guilt: He still has great guilt over the deaths of his beloved Uncle Ben and his first love, Gwen Stacy. He still tries to make up for them every day.
The Parker Luck: Oftentimes, if there's something that can go wrong for Peter, it will. Even when he wins, most of the time something will happen that will somehow turn it into a loss.
Power Loss: Sometimes the flu, a radiation drain or just his own mental state can cause him lose his powers. If he does, his stats change to STR 2, STA 2, AGL 2, DEX 1, and FGT 4.
Power Loss: Those web shooters seem to run out of fluid at the most inopportune times.
Prejudice: J. Jonah Jameson and those that he influences will NEVER accept Spider-Man. And thanks to JJJ, he still suffers from the "hero or menace" problem with the public.
Relationships: The list is long, but includes his wife, Mary Jane; his daughter May; Aunt May, Uncle Ben's memory, Spider Girl, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Scarlet Spiders Ben Reilly and Kaine, Robbie Robertson, Betty Brandt, Carlie Cooper, Flash Thompson and sometimes Harry Osborn.
Responsibility: With great power comes great…
Secret Identity: He has his secret identity of Peter Parker which he guards fiercely thanks to his Rogues' Gallery.

Abilities 102 + Skills 24 (48 ranks) + Advantages 7 + Powers 88 + Defenses 12 = 233 / 233

Build Comments: I will never, ever, EVER doubt Dan Slott again. I was iffy on the whole Superior Spider-Man bit a couple of years back and it was awesome. It was so awesome and had such a great take on the “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility” angle that I really began to root for Doc Ock/Pete, even though he was making some big mistakes. It all came back to haunt him in Goblin Nation and when they announced that the real Pete was coming back, I was actually kinda disappointed.

Then when I read the final issues of Superior and the restart of Amazing Spider-Man, I was back in with Pete completely. Slott has such a great grasp of what made both of them great, yet flawed heroes, its just marvelous. If any of you swore off Spider-Man after One More Day or Superior, rethink it. Slott took chances (well, he didn’t really have the final say on One More Day…) and they have paid off and the book is set to keep flying high.

As far as the build goes, not a lot of changes from my last Pete review. I started a test of him before I got to reboot the Thorpocaverse, so once I get his foe rebuilt, I will get it posted. Or I’ll just start another, Spidey is just fun as heck to play.

Secret Origins: Peter Benjamin Parker was born to C.I.A. agents Richard and Mary Parker, who were killed when Peter was very young. After the death of his parents, Peter was raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May in a modest house in Forest Hills, New York. While still in High School, Peter attended a science exhibition about radiology where he was bitten by a radioactive spider, granting him the proportionate strength and agility of a spider as well as a "Spider-Sense" that warns him of nearby danger. In order to test his new abilities – and earn some cash, Peter participated in a wrestling challenge against Crusher Hogan. He easily won the challenge and also gained the attention of the media.

Afterwards while backstage, Peter saw a burglar run past him but did nothing to stop him as it wasn’t his problem. Later that night when Peter arrived home, he was told by a policeman that his Uncle Ben had been murdered by someone who broke into their house. The cop mentioned they had tracked the killer to a warehouse. In his anger Peter put on his wrestling costume and went after the murderer himself. After arriving at the warehouse and easily defeating Uncle Ben’s killer, Peter saw that it was the same burglar he didn’t stop at the arena… thus learning that "with great power comes great responsibility".

The Story so Far: Too much to cover…

For the time being, he is part of The Outsiders with Luke Cage, Nightwing, Wolverine and others. He is also trying to rebuild his life, trying undo the damage that was caused to his personal and superhero life by Otto Octavius, who controlled his body for months while Peter’s spirit was stuck in limbo.

He is currently dealing with the massive gang war in New York between The Kingpin, Mister Negative and The Hood. One benefit from Octavius’ time as Spider-Man is that Peter now his has doctorate.

Characterization: Initially, Peter Parker was shy and timid, but the Spider-Man alter-ego was a form of liberation and heroism, and he used it to gain confidence. His aunt and uncle instilled a strong sense of morality in him, though some of his confidence and liberation remains, making him a sarcastic wise-guy.

He also has a very compassionate disposition that endears him to the superheroic community as a whole and most of the public that can see through J. Jonah’s years of slander against him. As Doctor Strange said, “Peter is the best of us.”

One thing he is well known for is his humor, something that has been known to greatly irritate his enemies (and allies at times) and has many times let him win the fight. His combination of moral obligation, compassion, and humor makes him one of the most trustworthy, good people to hang out with.

Friends and Foes: Spider-Man has a large range of supporting characters in his life. After his parents died, Peter Parker was raised by his loving aunt, May Parker, and his uncle and father figure, Ben Parker. After Uncle Ben was murdered by a burglar, Aunt May is virtually Peter's only family, and she and Peter are very close.

J. Jonah Jameson is depicted as the publisher of the Daily Bugle and is Peter Parker's boss and as a harsh critic of Spider-Man, always saying negative things about the superhero in the newspaper. Despite his role as Jameson's publishing editor and confidant Robbie Robertson is always depicted as a supporter of both Peter Parker and Spider-Man.

Eugene "Flash" Thompson was initially Parker's high school tormentor and bully, but after they gradiuated he became a friend to Peter. Meanwhile Harry Osborn, son of Norman Osborn, is most commonly recognized as Peter's best friend but has also been his rival, due to his mental issues that were caused by his sometimes abusive father.

Peter Parker's romantic interests ranged between his first crush, the fellow high-school student Liz Allan, to having his first date with Betty Brant, the secretary to the Daily Bugle newspaper publisher J. Jonah Jameson. After his breakup with Betty Brant, Parker eventually fell in love with his college girlfriend Gwen Stacy, daughter of New York City Police Department detective captain George Stacy, both of whom are later killed by supervillain enemies of Spider-Man. . Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat, is a reformed cat burglar who had been Spider-Man's girlfriend and partner at one point.

However, his longest relationship has been with Mary Jane Watson, a model who eventually became Peter's best friend and then his wife.

In the superhero community, he has several close allies including Daredevil, Black Cat, Luke Cage, Captain America, Superman, Wonder Woman, Ms. Marvel and others. Tony Stark has treated him like a little brother in recent years, offering him a job with Stark Industries before Peter got his job at Horizon Labs. He and Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, are also very close and he has been part of the Fantastic Four/Future Foundation on a few occasions.

Spider-Man has accrued one of the largest rogues’ gallery of supervillains in the superhero world, rivaled only by Batman. As with him, the majority of these villains' powers originate with scientific accidents or the misuse of scientific technology, and many have animal-themed costumes or powers. Early on Spider-Man faced such foes as the Chameleon, the Vulture, Doctor Octopus, the Sandman, the Lizard, Electro, Mysterio, the Green Goblin, Kraven the Hunter, the Scorpion, the Rhino, the Shocker, and the physically powerful and well-connected criminal capo Wilson Fisk, also known as the Kingpin.

A key later foe is college professor Miles Warren, a genius in the field of cloning who becomes the Jackal. He would create the Parker clones who would become Ben Reilly and Kaine. After the Green Goblin was presumably killed, a derivative villain called the Hobgoblin came on the scene and has remained a key member of Spidey’s rogues’ gallery in various incarnations. After Spider-Man rejected his symbiotic black costume, Eddie Brock, a bitter ex-journalist with a grudge against Spider-Man, bonded with the symbiote (which also hated Spider-Man for rejecting it), gaining Spider-Man's powers and abilities, and became the villain Venom. Brock briefly became an ally to Spider-Man when Carnage, another symbiote-based villain, went on a murderous spree. At times these enemies of Spider-Man have formed groups such as the Sinister Six to oppose Spider-Man.

Of all his foes, The Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Venom are generally considered his archenemies.

Build Comments: I have only read just a little of the Ultimate Universe stuff, and none of the Spider-Man book with Miles Morales. However, I plan on doing so soon, as I have been hearing great things. I haven’t heard much about the new book, but it sounds like they pretty much just shifted his life from Earth-1610 to Earth-616 so I assume it’s still pretty good. I was actually surprised both he and Pete survived Secret Wars, but I think Pete will die again pretty soon and Miles will be the lone Spider-Man for a while.

Miles is pretty similar to young Peter, except he has a spider sting that seems to work a lot like the Widow’s Sting, except at close range. I felt like PL9 was right for him as he’s still pretty inexperienced and I plan to try and keep most of my teen heroes at PL8-9 as much as possible.

Secret Origins: On Miles’ original Earth, After Norman Osborn was arrested by S.H.I.E.L.D, and publicly revealed as the Green Goblin, Osborn Industries was left abandoned. Nearly two months before Peter Parker's death, a thief broke into Osborn Industries. Unknown to the thief a spider genetically enhanced with the Oz formula crawled into his bag.

Miles Morales, a young kid from Brooklyn visited his uncle Aaron Davis against his parents' wishes, because of his criminal past, after being awarded the final spot in a charter school lottery. After being bitten by the Oz-enhanced spider, which emerged from Aaron's bag, Miles discovered he received super-human abilities like camouflage, increased agility, and some sort of stunning blast. After revealing his newly found powers to his best friend, Ganke Lee, both ended in the conclusion he had power similar to Spider-Man's. But Miles reacted negatively, as he just wanted to be normal, deciding to leave the heroism to the actual Spider-Man.

Months later, Spider-Man died saving his family from Osborn. Miles arrived late to the scene. Struck with grief at not helping Peter Parker before his demise, Miles decided to follow Parker's philosophy -- with great power comes great responsibility -- and so continue Peter's legacy.

The Story so Far: However, after witnessing Spider-Man's death at the hands of the Green Goblin, the guilt-ridden Miles realizes he could have helped. After Ganke suggests he assume the mantle of Spider-Man, and learns from Gwen Stacy why Parker did what he did, Miles is inspired to try his hand at costumed crimefighting. During his first foray into costumed superheroics, he is confronted not only by those who feel his use of the Spider-Man costume is in bad taste, but also by Spider-Woman, a member of the government superhuman team, the Ultimates, over his use of the Spider-Man identity.

Spider-Woman unmasks and arrests Miles and takes him to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, where Nick Fury reveals that he knows all about Miles and his family, including his uncle's criminal activity. After he helps S.H.I.E.L.D. subdue the escaped supervillain Electro, S.H.I.E.L.D. releases Miles and gives him a modified black and red version of the Spider-Man costume, which Ganke feels makes Miles "officially" the new Spider-Man. He also receives the blessing of the an alternate Earth Peter Parker, in which Parker briefly visits Miles’ universe and meets Miles. After the newspapers begin reporting the emergence of a new Spider-Man, Aaron deduces that it is really Miles, and offers to train Miles and work with him. After Aaron uses Miles in his ongoing conflict with the Mexican crime lord Scorpion, Miles realizes he is being exploited, and refuses to assist his uncle further, despite Aaron's threat to inform Miles' father of his secret. This leads to an altercation between the uncle and nephew that result in the malfunction of Aaron's weapons, which explode, killing Aaron.

This caused Miles to abandon his Spider-Man persona for some time, but he had recently returned to the role with the encouragement of his friends and Captain America. After several other adventurers, Miles' world and the other becane affected by a phenomena known as Incursions, during which the planets Earth of two different realities embarked on a collision course that threatened the two universes. As the two forces of each world fought for survival, hoping to destroy the other's planet, Miles investigated the opening of the Children of Tomorrow's Dome in Manhattan, and ended up infiltrating a vessel built by the Maker and the Cabal to survive the end of times on Godking Doom’s Battleworld.

Before Castle Doom was assaulted by the enemies of the emperor, Miles and Peter were recruited by the Maker and Mister Fantastic to sneak into the palace and investigate Doom's source of power. They came across the Molecule Man hidden in a secret chamber beneath Doomstadt. When they encountered him, he asked the arachnid heroes if they had brought anything to eat, Miles luckily had a hamburger in his pocket from before the end of the world, and gave it to Owen. As they were leaving the chamber after learning that Molecule Man himself was Doom's source of power, Owen claimed that he was in debt with Miles. After Doom was defeated by Mister Fantastic, Miles woke up in the reformed Earth-217 instead of his home reality, but as if he had lived his entire life there, together with his father, his returned mother, and even his friends. As an act of thanksgiving, the Molecule Man had made all of that possible.

Characterization: Miles, who just wanted a normal life, was initially unhappy about having these abilities, and nauseated at the idea of risking his life to engage in superheroics, a reaction that was a great contrast to Peter Parker. Right after acquiring his superhuman abilities from a spider bite at the home of his uncle, Aaron, whom Miles admires but he does not initially know is a career criminal, Miles' father, Jefferson, explains to Miles that before Miles was born, Jefferson and Aaron were thieves who spent time in prison, and that while Jefferson reformed when he got older, Aaron has not. This gives Miles cause to wonder if the traits that lead to criminal behavior are hardwired into his DNA, leading him to question whether he is essentially a good person or not, and what his future holds for him. These issues further haunt Miles after he becomes disillusioned with Aaron, and Aaron dies from an accidental explosion triggered during a battle between the two of them, saying, "You are just like me" to Miles before dying.

Friends and Foes: Miles eventually grew accustomed to living in a different reality, mainly due to his personal life having remained virtually the same. He still attended the Brooklyn Visions Academy together with Ganke, and lived together with his parents. Of the two of them, only Jefferson knew about Miles' super-heroic endeavors. Miles received assistance in learning how to be a hero from both his new mentor, the native Peter Parker of Earth-217.

We've got a few more items in our GENERATIONS SPECIAL! Check out these new items for Aisle 2!

Everything I've done, everything I'll do today, everything I'll ever do, I do to protect this world. Someone once told me that with great power comes great responsibility. That's usually thought of as a lesson for children. A simple injunction to do the right thing. But there's nothing simple about it. When I put on this armor, I took on more power than any human was ever intended to have... and maybe more responsibility than my heart can truly bear. But today... I will do my job. I will protect you. No matter what it takes... - Iron Man

Build Comments: The Invincible Iron Man. Marvel’s new cinematic cash cow. Who’d a thunk it?

Secret Origins: Anthony Edward Stark, the son of wealthy industrialist and head of Stark Industries, Howard Stark, and Maria Stark, is born on Long Island 40 years ago. A boy genius, he enters MIT at the age of 15 to study electrical engineering and later receives Master's degrees in electrical engineering and physics. After his parents are killed in a plane accident, he inherited his father's company at age 20.

His party boy public persona and technical innovations in the realm of weapons design made him a media star practically from day one. About 10 years ago, Stark went to Afghanistan to supervise a field test for one of his transistorized weapons. He ignored his friend, US Marine, James Rhodes’, concerns that security was insufficient. His convoy was ambushed and Stark was critically wounded by one of his own missiles. He was captured and imprisoned in a cave by the terrorist group the Ten Rings. An electromagnet grafted into Stark's chest by fellow captive, the renowned physicist and Nobel laureate Professor Ho Yinsen, kept the shrapnel shell shards that wounded him from reaching his heart and killing him. Ten Rings leader Raza offered Stark freedom in exchange for building a Jericho missile for the group, but Tony and Yinsen knew that Raza would not keep his word.

Stark and Yinsen secretly built a powerful electric generator called an arc reactor to power Stark's electromagnet and then began to secretly build a suit of armor powered by the reactor as a means to escape. Although they kept the suit hidden almost to completion, the Ten Rings attacked the workshop when they discovered their intentions. Yinsen sacrificed himself to divert them while the suit powered up. The armored Stark battled his way out of the cave, only to find the dying Yinsen, then the enraged Stark burned the Ten Rings weapons and flew away, only to crash in the desert, destroying the suit. After being later rescued by Rhodes, Stark returned home and announced that his company will no longer manufacture weapons. Obadiah Stane, his father's old partner and the company's manager, advised Stark that this may ruin Stark Industries and his father's legacy but Tony’s mind was made up. In his home workshop, Stark built an improved version of his suit, as well as a more powerful arc reactor for his chest. Stane requested details but Stark keeps his work to himself.

After some time in seclusion, he attends a charity event held by Stark Industries, Stark that his company's weapons, including the Jericho, were recently delivered to the Ten Rings and were being used to attack Yinsen's home village, Gulmira. Stark also learns Stane is trying to replace him as head of the company. Enraged, Stark donned his new armor and flew to Afghanistan, where he saved Yinsen's village and delivers a devastating blow to the Ten Rings. Later, the Ten Rings gathered the pieces of Stark's prototype suit and met with Stane, who double crossed Raza and had the rest of his group eliminated. Stane has a new suit reverse engineered from the wreckage. Seeking to find any other weapons delivered to the Ten Rings, Stark sent assistant Virginia "Pepper" Potts to hack into the company computer system from Stane's office. She discovered Stane has been supplying the terrorists and hired the Ten Rings to kill Stark, but the group reneged. Potts met with Agent Phil Coulson of the "Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division", a counter-terrorism agency, to inform him of Stane's activities.

Stane's scientists could not duplicate Stark's arc reactor so Stane ambushed Stark at home, using a sonic device to paralyze him, and takes his arc reactor. Left to die, Stark managed to crawl to his lab and plug in his original reactor. Potts and several S.H.I.E.L.D. agents attempted to arrest Stane, but he put on his armored suit and attacked them. Stark fights Stane, but is overmatched without his new reactor to run his suit at full capacity. Stark lured Stane atop the Stark Industries building and instructs Potts to overload the large arc reactor there. This unleashed a massive electrical surge that knocks Stane unconscious, causing him and his armor to fall into the exploding reactor, killing him.

The next day, the press had dubbed the armored hero "Iron Man". Agent Coulson gave Stark a cover story to explain the events of the night and Stane's death. At a press conference, Stark began giving the cover story, but paused and then announced that he was Iron Man.

The Story so Far: As Iron Man, Tony fought numerous threats to his company and the world, such as the Crimson Dynamo and the Titanium Man, as well as independent villains like the Mandarin, who eventually became his greatest enemy. He was a founding member of the Justice League before leaving with Captain America to start the Avengers.

3 years ago, learning of the government's plans to instigate a Superhuman Registration Act that would force costumed, super-powered individuals to reveal their identities to the government and sign on as licensed agents, Iron Man at first sought to defeat the proposal, even going to such lengths as to hire the Titanium Man to attack the hearing on the act as he testified in order to manipulate opinion in his favor. However, at some point, Tony Stark's opinion of the Act changed, seeing it as a new means to achieve the goal that he had sought in forming the "Illuminati", and to tie the knots of friendship between humans and superheroes. He attempted to convince the other members of the clandestine group to support the new Act, stating that their input could prevent the Act from becoming too restrictive of superhuman activities, but all except Mister Fantastic rejected the idea of registration.

After the Stamford, Connecticut disaster turned public opinion against super humans and fast-tracked the Act into law, Stark came out publicly in support of the Act, but the new law split the hero community in two. All of Stark's planning and manipulation came to fruition as Stark then became the representative and leader of the pro-registration side, placed in opposition to the anti-registration advocates. After a costly “Civil War” between the two sides, Stark’s pro-registration side won and Tony took over as head of SHIELD during one of Nick Fury’s absences.

After the Secret Invasion, Tony was replaced as America’s “top cop” by Norman Obsorn, who wanted all the information on the secret identities of the superhumans that had registered. Tony had them all in his brain and in order to save the information from Osborn, basically had his brain shut down and wiped. Pepper and some of his other allies were able to restore his brain and after Obsorn was ousted, Tony resumed his superheroic life and shifted his focus to reigning in Stark technology that had fallen into the wrong hands.

Characterization: Tony Stark is, for the lack of a better word, complicated. During his early days of success, Stark was a man who only cared about fame and wealth. He had no sense of responsibility or humility, always rubbing his success on the face of everyone he met. This all changed when he was captured by terrorists. After building the first Iron Man armor and escaping captivity, Stark had realized the kind of person he really was and engaged in a life of heroism to atone for his past mistakes.

Plagued by many vices, Stark is prone to womanizing, pride and alcoholism. This lifetime of troubles has caused him to develop a cynical view of the world. Despite this, Stark is devoted to truly make the world a better place.

Tony is known as a "futurist". He has stated that the way his mind works he can intuit the future, even being able to foreshadow that a situation similar to the superhuman Civil War was going to happen, years before it did.

Iron Man is a hero that relies on his intellect and technological resources to defeat foes and achieve victory. Stark invariably prides himself on being one of the most intelligent people in the world. Tony has survived the superhero Civil War and Secret Invasion and has come out on the other side. He had to have that Arc Reactor put in to reboot his brain and as such, he has said to hell with being on the wagon and has gone back to his roots, albeit a bit more closely monitoring the booze. But not the ladies' or his ego. Steve Rogers and Amanda Waller are concerned, but generally everyone agrees that this Tony is far more tolerable.

Friends and Foes: Tony’s best friend is Jim Rhodes, but he is probably closest to his long-time secretary, confidant, ex-girlfriend and current CEO of Stark Resilient, Virginia “Pepper” Potts. He is also good friends with his former bodyguard and head of security, Happy Hogan. In the superhero community, he is tight with Captain America Steve Rogers, Bruce Banner and Mr. Terrific, Michael Holt.

Due to his stance on the Superhuman Registration Act, there are several superheroes that still don’t trust him, most among them Batman and Jenny Sparks.

He has a long list of enemies in the supervillain community, chief among them is The Mandarin. Their history is very personal and The Mandarin, currently at large, seems to always been plotting against Stark. He also counts the Titantium Man, The Crimson Dynamo, the Hammer family, the Stane family, Whiplash and the Unicorn among his recurring foes.

Motivation: Using her abilities to protect the world and keep what happened to her stepfather and best friend from happening to anyone else.
Relationships: With her mother and Tony Stark.

Abilities 38 + Skills 9 (18 ranks) + Advantages 5 + Powers 110 + Defenses 11 = 173 / 173

Build Comments: Another character I don’t know a lot about yet, but as another part of Marvel’s All New All Diverse Marvel line, here is Ironheart. Another good concept, I haven’t seen enough of her to make an opinion yet, but I know she’s about to get a Lex Luger-post Hogan WWE style push to be a top tier character so I figure I should get the jump on everyone and get a build up before the backlash starts.

As a build, she’s Tony light. She pretty much reverse engineered one of Tony’s earlier armors so I just tweaked my current Iron Man armor set up and called it good. I’m sure I’ll take another run at her once I’ve seen some more.

Secret Origins: Riri Williams was born shortly after her father Riri Williams, Sr. died. She grew up together with her sister Sharon and their mother in Chicago, Illinois. When she was five years old, Riri's behavioral problems led her mother and her step-father to have her undergo tests that resulted in Riri being certified a super genius.

Her level of intelligence caused Riri to retreat inside her own mind and become an introvert. She met her only friend, Natalie Washington, when she was ten years old, after Riri caught Natalie's attention while working at her open garage on some inventions meant to hopefully help superheroes some day.

Tragedy struck Riri when she was thirteen years old. While having a picnic at the Marquette Park, Riri, her family and Natalie were caught in the line of fire when a car driver opened fire on some bystanders. Even though Riri got up unscathed, both Natalie and Riri's step-father were shot and killed. Some time after this event, Riri was given a scholarship at M.I.T.. which she began attending at age fifteen.

The Story so Far: What started as a challenge for herself ended up becoming a secret project to create her own suit of armor. After reverse-engineering technology from the outdated Iron Man Armor Model 41, Riri started creating her own prototype version of the Iron Man Armor, using mainly stolen material from campus. When security caught notice of her suspicious activities, Riri was prompted to don the suit of armor and fly away.

After flying around the country trying to get the hang of her suit's flying capabilities, Riri intercepted a couple of inmates escaping from the New Mexico State Penitentiary. She managed to stop the speeding truck they were using as a escape vehicle, but at the cost of her armor's integrity.

Riri eventually returned to her house to keep working on her suit, much to her mother's dismay. After learning of Riri's accomplishment, Tony Stark visited her and decided to endorse Riri's desire to become a super hero.

Characterization/Friends and Foes: Riri is a heroic young woman with a strong desire to become a hero. She is very close to her mother and is forming a mentor/mentee relationship with Tony Stark.

Relationships: She is close to her best friend Bruno, and despite their conflicts, she is close to her parents and siblings. She is also gathering good friends in the superhero community, including Spider-Man (Miles Morales) and Nova (Sam Alexander).
Secret Identity: Ms. Marvel tries hard to keep her secret identity as high school student Kamala Khan from the public and most importantly, from her family.
Vulnerable: Kamala can lose her powers or have them greatly impacted by EMPs.

Abilities 26 + Skills 14 (28 ranks) + Advantages 3 + Powers 49 + Defenses 16 = 108 / 108

Build Comments: Marvel sure struck gold with Kamala Khan. They introduced a Muslim American heroine in the best way possible: like they introduced every other character. Misfit teen gets amazing powers, decides to use them for good while trying to balance everyday teen issues. Tried and true and it worked to a tee. They didn’t beat you over the head with her ethnicity, they didn’t turn every other issue into “a very special episode”, they just made a good old-fashioned teen superhero comic. And it succeeded. Go fig.

As a build, Kamala is not incredibly powerful, but she’s versatile and has enough power with her Growth to hold her own against decent threats and she’s a strong team player as well, as shown in her Avengers run and now with The Champions. WHICH, might I add, I have a #1 of the original Champions, with Hercules, Ghost Rider, Iceman, Angel and Black Widow that kind of became a joke. Even though they fought the greatest villain of all time, Swarm! Can’t believe that didn’t

And this new Champions book was Marvel’s best seller in October. How things change.

Secret Origins/The Story so Far: Kamala Khan is a Pakistani-American born in Jersey City, the daughter of Yusuf Khan and Muneeba Khan. Her parents moved to the states from Karachi, Pakistan. Though respectful of her heritage, Kamala always felt different; she had nerdy interests, and strict parents. She was also a fan of superheroes, having devotedly followed the career of Carol Danvers, the former Ms. Marvel who had recently started going by the nom de guerre Captain Marvel.

One night, Kamala snuck out of her house against her parents' wishes to attend a party on the Jersey Waterfront, only to be teased and ostracized by her classmates Zoe Zimmer and Josh Richardson. As Kamala walked home in anger and disappointment, Jersey City was suddenly enveloped in the Terrigen Mists, which had been released by the hand of the Inhuman king Black Bolt, and Kamala fell unconscious from exposure. As her Terrigenesis began due to her Inhuman lineage, Kamala was presented with a vision of Carol Danvers chastising her for disobeying her parents and asking her what she wanted in life, to which she replied "I want to be you." Once the vision faded, Kamala woke up and broke out of her Terrigenesis cocoon wearing a replica of Danvers' previous Ms. Marvel costume and literally transformed into Carol Danvers as part of her subconscious desire.

Shocked and scared at the sudden change, Kamala's body repeatedly altered itself as her mind and body struggled to gain control over her newly-developed shapeshifting powers. When she saw Zoe fall into the river while trying to keep a drunken Josh off of her, however, Kamala (still in the Ms. Marvel form) instinctively came to her rescue by enlarging her hand to pull her out of the water. As Kamala returned home, she realized that merely looking like her idol was not what she wanted at all, but also that rescuing Zoe made her feel happy. After returning home, she was grounded by her angry parents, as her friend Bruno had told them that she escaped to the party.

Since then, Kamala has used her powers for good and carries on the Ms. Marvel legacy as a rising star in the young superhero community.

Characterization: Although Kamala has the same superhero alias as previously Danvers did, her powers are not similar to the blonde bombshell. Kamala is a polymorph after being exposed to the Terrigen Mist. This gives her the ability to stretch her body in almost any way imaginable. Kamala can also increase and decrease her size to both gigantic and tiny sizes. The limits of this ability has yet to be revealed but she has grown large enough to handle a car and shrunk to the size of a cockroach. She can also selectively increase and decrease the size of any part of her body, although she prefers to increase the size of her fists. But she also uses the ability to increase the length of her legs so that she can travel great distances in a short amount of time. Kamala also has the ability to shape-shift. In theory she can look like anyone she wants, but so far she has only changed into Carol Danvers and her own mother. Kamala also has healing abilities since she has been shot in the stomach but was able to heal over the wound when she transformed back to her original form. She cannot transform again until the healing process is complete.

Friends and Foes: Kamala is close to her family and her friend, Bruno, and is gathering a number of allies in the superhero community, including the new Nova, Sam Alexander and Viv Vision.

I think Spider-Man is just about the most fun character to stat into M&M. Last time I did his 'verse, I did so all over again, despite having a prior one in place.

Riri is odd- did she actually REPLACE Tony? I think busting her out at the same time as JaneThor, SamCap and others was a mistake. That's the sort of thing you only do with one hero at a time, not rework the entire line with Replacements.

Kamala rules. Her book captures that "Teen Spidey" vibe as well as anything I've read in twenty years.

I figured someone would build Riri eventually, so that's good to see. Is the Infamous Iron Man (Doom) any different from regular Doom's armor?

Spidey characters are fun as hell to build. Pete is fun to tinker with, but even his rogues are great. Electro, Sandman, Doc Ock, even the League of Losers is fun. I'm going to get on them pretty soon after I get some other stuff up that I've been messing around with.

I'm not sure if Riri actually "replaced" Tony. I read his current demise in Civil War II (money I wish I had back ;) ) where he's in a coma and Rhodey died at the beginning of Civil War II so they're out. She has been the lead in the Invincible Iron Man series since, so I guess she has, which leads into Koroko's comment about Doom ALSO being the Infamous Iron Man now that he has turned over a new leaf since Secret Wars. So there's two "Iron Men" right now and who knows who will be the primary, if they pick one.

On Doom's new armor, again, I'm not sure. I haven't read any of the new series or checked anything on the Wiki's but I assume it's pretty close to the same.

COMPLICATIONS:
Motivation: Using her intelligence to help people. And trying to fit in for once while doing it.
Prejudice: She has feared becoming an Inhuman once she found out she had the gene as some Inhumans, much like Mutants, have suffered prejudice.
Relationships: With her parents and Devil Dinosaur.
Underestimated: Being a socially awkward 10-year-old girl makes it hard for people to believe that she might be the smartest person on the planet.

Disability: Devil Dinosaur cannot speak to humans nor use hisr claws to easily manipulate objects, although he can understand some human speech.
Relationships: With Moon Girl and formerly with Moon Boy.
Vulnerable: Dinosaurs are vulnerable to cold, and cold based effects due to their physiology. They take an extra degree of failure against those effects and prolonged exposure to cold environments can leave them disabled, incapacitated and eventually to dying.

Abilities 20 + Skills 12 (24 ranks) + Advantages 5 + Powers 40 + Defenses 18 = 95 / 95

Build Comments: I was never a big fan of Moon Boy and Devil Dinosaur. It was a fun concept in the day, but over time, it just didn’t appeal to me. So when I heard about a new Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur book, I was like “eh”. Then I started hearing some good buzz and I picked up a few issues of the Monster Unleashed crossover event and I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with Lunella. Then I started poking around with some wiki info and I knew I had to get her and DD built ASAP. Another hit for Marvel featuring a minority hero where it wasn’t forced.

Well, they did kinda make it point to say the she’s the smartest person in the Marvel U already so that’s a bit of a push, but at least they’re forcing it down our throats. Too much…

Lunella is an Inhuman and her power is to switch bodies with DD when she gets too emotionally worked up. That Mind Switch power is the only reason she’s a PL10 and depending on how it tests, I may have to up that to make sure Devil Dino fails the Will check. Or I suppose I could just make it an autofail for him and give him an HP so he can wreck more things while he’s in Lunella’s body.

As far as their Thorpocaverse background goes, it’s pending because I want to make some changes, but I need to update some others first. I started slinging those out there when I went to this format and after reviewing more after some comments, I realized I pulled a DC/Marvel and was not consistent in my canon. That will not do…

COMPLICATIONS:
Daddy Issues: She wants to prove herself to be worth of being the daughter of the great Mongul I.
Enemy: Wonder Woman, Ms. Marvel, Green Lantern Katma Tui.
Sibling Rivalry: With her brother Mongul.

Abilities 98 + Skills 11 (22 ranks) + Advantages 13 + Powers 56 + Defenses 10 = 188 / 188

Build Comments: Even though she has a really bad pun name, I think DC missed a golden opportunity for a high level female villain when they offed Mongal, Mongul II’s sister. Granted, she bit it in a cool way with him punching her head off, but still, she could have been a good foil for some of the DC cosmic heroes. Seeing as how Mongul has become a good Green Lantern and Superman villain, you would think they could have done the same with Mongal for Wonder Woman, but I guess they didn’t see it that way. I, however, think that she is going to be a thorn in Diana’s side as well as Carol Danvers’, Katma Tui’s, and Supergirl’s in my setting.

Secret Origins: Mongal is the daughter of galactic warlord Mongul, and sister to Mongul II.

The Story so Far: After seeing Superman defeat on father on multiple occasions, she and her brother lured The Man of Steel into a battle that spanned Metropolis. This resulted in the near death of Mongul II. at the teeth of Krypto. Mongal escaped the battle relatively unscathed and returned to Earth later to attempt to destroy New York City where she was stopped by Wonder Woman.

Mongal would later team up with several cosmic heroes and villains, including Maxima and the remaining Almerac natives to face the threat known as Imperiex. After his defeat, Mongal revealed that she had taken the Crown of Almerac from Maxima who had perished in the battle with Imperiex. As such, the small band of Almeracian survivors respected her for her valiant performance during the war, and willingly appointed her their new warrior queen.

She has ruled Almerac ever since and has come into conflict with several galactic heroes over the years and has battled Wonder Woman on numerous occasions.

Characterization: Mongal, like her brother and father, lives for battle and conquest and has little regard for life other than to end it.

Friends and Foes: She has had her run-ins with Superman, The Guardians of the Galaxy and the Green Lantern Corps but her biggest rivalry is with Wonder Woman, who has foiled her world domination plans on multiple occasions.

Motivation: Power and proving himself to the standard for the Mongul family legacy.
Sibling Rivalry: With his sister, Mongal.

Abilities 100 + Skills 19 (38 ranks) + Advantages 11 + Powers 66 + Defenses 14 = 210 / 210

Build Comments: I struggles with Mongul II's PL when I was going over him again. His dad was able to hang with Silver Age Superman, so he could be MUCH higher in PL than he is, but while Mongul II has battled Superman well he never really seemed to get over on him. So I went with PL14 where he's pretty close to Clark's level and should get some wins. Heck, when he had a Sinestro Corps ring, he took on like 6 Green Lanterns at once, including Guy and Kyle who who I have at PL13, so he would need to be pretty freakin’ bad ass to do that.

Secret Origins: Mongul's son, also named Mongul, was inspired to be just like his father.

The Story so Far: As a young child, he made journeys and he watched digital renderings where his father fought against Superman and his allies. He copied his father's actions when he encountered a group of marooned miniature aliens, turning them into his slaves. Once Mongul II's father returned, and discovering his son's slaves, he killed the aliens and tells him only one being on the planet is worthy of adoration: Mongul himself.

Once he grew to adulthood, Mongul was forced to assist and train Superman in preparation for the arrival of Imperiex. He appeared to have been killed during the Imperiex War, but returned during the Infinite Crisis after learning from Despero that the Justice League had apparently been destroyed. His intention was to loot their Watchtower headquarters but he ended up fighting Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. During the fight he was almost killed by Wonder Woman before escaping via a working teleporter. The teleportation transported him to Earth, where he menaced Hal Jordan, the newly-returned Green Lantern, by using a Black Mercy plant on him and Green Arrow.

In the aftermath of the Sinestro Corps War, Mongul received a Yellow Power Ring after breaking a dying Sinestro Corps member's neck. Soon after he tracked members of the Sinestro Corps, and offered the inductees a choice: to serve him or die. He removed the ring from each one who refused, and gained an extra five rings. Mongul's recruitment drive indirectly brought the attention of the Green Lantern Corps, in which he attacked Arisia and Sodam Yat with Black Mercy plants, and took them prisoner. He used his ring to send thousands of Black Mercy seeds, which he had genetically engineered to bring the victims' greatest fears to life, instead of their dreams, to several unsuspecting planets. In a confrontation with several members of the Green Lantern Corps, Mongul was defeated when the fly-like Lantern Bzzd flew through his eye, and he was thrown down to the Black Mercy's planet. There, he was buried in soil, being used as food by the Black Mercys. However, Mongul escaped this seemingly grotesque fate and made his way into outer space. En route to Sector 1114, he encountered two alien newlyweds, murdering one named Kered Riam. This incident inspired Kered's widow Miri to join the Star Sapphires.

Following a brief rest from his injuries, Mongul went to Daxam and conquered the planet by himself in a matter of days. He then sent a signal to the rest of the Sinestro Corps, calling them to their new homeworld. Once a force of Sinestro Corps soldiers arrived, he announced that he was now their leader. Arkillo, the former drill sergeant and one of Sinestro's lieutenants, believed Mongul unworthy of leadership, and challenged him to single combat without their rings. Despite a fierce battle, Mongul ultimately triumphed, ripping out Arkillo's tongue, but sparing his life so that he would be "seen but not heard" by any who would dare challenge Mongul. In the process, he gained the loyalty of the faction of the Sinestro Corps loyal to Arkillo and complete rule over the planet Daxam, but draws the attentions of Arisia and Sodam Yat, the Daxamite host for the Ion Entity, on himself. Mongul engaged into battle against Sodam Yat in which the latter used his Ion powers to briefly launch Mongul into space, before entering Daxam's sun and transforming it from red to yellow, granting all Daxamites superpowers. The Daxamites' overwhelming attack forces Mongul to have the Sinestro Corps abandon Daxam.

Mongul relocated his base of operations to Korugar, where he similarly conquered and oppressed the planet's inhabitants, with the intent of making it a new Warworld. Soon after a freed Sinestro was brought to confront Mongul. Although Mongul outclassed Sinestro in terms of strength, Sinestro had designed the specifics for his Corps' power rings and were equipped with a failsafe program, and turned the battle against Mongul. After defeating Mongul and reinstating himself as leader of the Sinestro Corps, Sinestro cast him into the Sinestro Corps' central power battery.

Mongul was released from the power battery during an attack on it by the First Lantern and was left to wander the universe until he was found by his father, who had returned from the dead and took him in to serve him in his renewed quest for universal conquest.

Characterization: Mongul is his father’s son and is all about conquest. Humbled by his recent defeats, is far more subservient to his father than before but it is means to an end to truly learn the art of conquest so that he can one day overthrow his father.

Friends and Foes: Mongul has made enemies amonst the Green Lantern Corps, Sinestro Corps and the Nova Corps. He has also run afoul of Superman several times. He doesn’t really have allies but he and his sister, Mongal, have worked through some of their issues and their rivalry has become more civil.

COMPLICATIONS:
Arrogance: His massive ego has caused him to underestimate opponents and lead to his downfall.
Enemy: The Green Lantern Corps, The Sinestro Corps (especially Arkillo and Sinestro), Nova and Superman.
Obsession: Power and conquest.

Abilities 122 + Skills 20 (40 ranks) + Advantages 31 + Powers 77 + Defenses 12 = 262 / 262

Build Comments: Jim Starlin created Mongul back in the day as a foe for Superman in the Silver Age. He was pretty wicked and his classic For the Man Who Has Everything and Warworld stories have stood that test of time. Even if Mongul, himself, did not. Starling wrote Mongul’s Villains Month issue and it was pretty dang good. And I'm glad to the OG is back to wreak havoc on the cosmos.

Secret Origins: Mongul was the tyrannical ruler of Warworld, an artificial satellite that traveled the galaxy, taking over planets and picking up slaves for gladiatorial combat.

The Story so Far: Superman was picked up by a Warworld slave ship. Mongul pis Superman against the warrior Draaga, one of Warworld's finest, but when Superman refused to kill his foe, Mongul decides to fight Superman himself. Mongul used his gemstone's power to overwhelm Superman, but fortunately the Cleric teleported Superman away from the fight. As Warworld's inhabitants began to revolt against their hated ruler, Mongul was defeated by Draaga and replaced as ruler of the planet after Draaga learns how to overcome his gemstone. Mongul fled, swearing revenge.

Mongul apparently fled to a small alien world and managed to conquer it with a small amount of followers and what was left of his Warworld technology. Using his skill as a warlord, he quickly gained enough power to challenge another planet that brough him into conflict with Green Lantern Hal Jordan, who was ultimately able to overcome him with help from Green Lanterns Arisia and Tomar-Re and Mongul was confined on Oa.

Mongul proved a difficult prisoner to hold. During a riot at the prison, Mongul managed to escape. Desiring revenge against Green Lantern, he headed for the Earth. He battled the new Green Lantern Kyle Rayner. With some help from Superman, GL Kyle managed to defeat Mongul and he is returned to custody on Earth. When he escaped again, he decided to cut his losses and just leave the Earth, but he is stopped by the Flash before he can do so.

Mongul was stuck on Earth, raging against his confinement. He was offered a way out when he was approached by the demon Neron and offered greater power and a chance for real success. Enraged by the implication that he was a failure, Mongul attacked the demon and was killed. But again, Mongul would not remain defeated. He was able to escape death during the Blackest Night and has slowly been returning to his former power with the assistance of his son, Mongul II, his daughter, Mongal and Draaga, who he has “helped” to return to his former glory and ruthlessness.

Characterization: Mongul cares about little other than battle and conquest.

Friends and Foes: His greatest foe is Superman but he also has a great enmity against the Green Lantern Corps.

Abilities 108 + Skills 36 (72 ranks) + Advantages 33 + Powers 122 + Defenses 10 = 310 / 310

Build Comments: It's Lobo, ya bastiches! 'Nuff said! Let the fraggin' begin!

Secret Origins: Lobo is the last survivor of the tranquil, peace loving Czarnian race. Pacifism, however, was not in Lobo's nature. He bit off the midwife's fingers, frightened a delivery nurse to death and attacked staff with scalpels at his own birth. His name is Khundian for "he who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it." The carnage was only just beginning, Lobo killed every person charged with overseeing him until he decided to kill every last Czarnian. With his genocide complete, he decided to become a bounty hunter.

The Story so Far: In his travels around the universe, Lobo has frequently found himself either on Earth or encountering its heroes. Lobo is rarely diplomatic and these encounters often become violent. Lobo's first trip to Earth, as well as many later encounters, saw him clash with Superman. As both of them are immensely powerful and unable to decisively beat the other, Superman usually has to find a way to appease Lobo before the damage (and the death toll) gets too severe.

He’s also had run-ins with the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Green Lantern Corps, the Red Lantern Corps, the Nova Corps, Gladiator, the Silver Surfer, Beta Ray Bill and most likely countless others.

Characterization: As a bounty hunter Lobo will take up any contract if the money's right. Whether it be his fourth grade teacher, Santa Claus, or God himself, Lobo will get the job done. He has been barred from Heaven and Hell, effectively making him immortal by default. His speech is peppered with profanity such as "frag" and "bastich."

He is not all that bad though, as he's always true to his word and a conservationist of Space Dolphins.

Friends and Foes: Lobo doesn’t really have any allies, just his space dolphins that he loves. He has run afoul of many beings across the universe, but most try to avoid him because…well, he’s Lobo.

Due to his inability to beat Superman, Lobo will often challenge him in an effort to finally prove he is better. He also has never been able to defeat Deadpool so he wants to pound that little bastich, too.
