Justice League Reserves (M&M2e, recruiting done)

Earth-56: just out of reach of normal continuity, the outskirts of the multiverse. This place is Prime Earth (New 52/Rebirth), but enough has changed to allow your original characters.

The world has seen an uptick of superpowers, be they metahuman, celestials, aliens, people of science, they run the gamut. So the Justice League has taken it upon themselves to train up the new folk. You have been approached and vouched for by one of the members people at the main table.

So, who are you? You're powerful enough to be on the radar of these prominent people. Enough to join the ranks... maybe? You know it's a possibility, but you're rubbing elbows with the... let's just call them 'C-listers'. But hey, you have resources beyond your means. You're in the Justice League. How's that for clout?

And then the first call came. You're going to make someone powerful proud. If just yourself.

Character ideas. You're in the DC Universe. I'll accept canon characters if you explain why they're punching below/above their weight class. Also, why they're just getting in now. But really, flex your creativity.

Story Tone. Hopeful. Heroic. Not saying anti-heroes unwanted, every team has a few. But I'd rather have 'realistic' and 'pragmatic' in lesser amounts. You're in the Justice League proper. Not Dark. Not Elite. That said, Silver Age silliness is fun, and there are zany folks, but try not to make it the only personality trait.

Character builds. you can chose to go wide or go tall. Super skilled (PL8 150pp) or super strong (PL10 120pp).

I have an idea. How do you feel about an aquatic metamorphic brick? Basically, he is an amphibious brick with the Adaption power, limited to features and traits found in the oceans? He’s not an Atlantean, but rather a being from Shazam’s Magiclands. He’s fled to Earth to escape the ravages of his homeland by Mr. Mind!

That seems fine, Hoid! What would be your limit? Like what can sea creatures not do for protection? Do remember limits have to be limiting.

How do you feel about....Gray Ghost's? The grandson of the original Gray Ghost(Simon Trent), He gained Intangibility and is a trained Detective an Combatant. He ran into Batgirl(helping her out with an Occult issue) and was recommended to the League by Batman(at Babs request).

Well, basically, it’d be more thematic than anything. He’d be PL8/150pp, and his Adaption has to follow an ocean creature ‘theme’. Remember, though, he’s from fairytale land, so the ‘qualities’ of sea creatures would have a storybook feel to them. They have an illogical sense of internal consistency.

Yeah, imaginary fish opens up a lot more! Maybe it's not limited?

LOl Sorry! Let me give you a few examples:

Basically, it’s all about the strategic use of Extras, Feats, Flaws and Drawbacks achieve a fairytale feel.

For example, we end up on a gas giant like Jupiter. Instead of turning into something gaseous or jellyfish like, I’d do this,

Faerie Penant: Alternate Form 2 [10pp.]
A Faerie penant is a magical flag that blows along in a strong wind, but it is guided by fate more than it is by the winds.
Elongation 1. [1pp.] Features 1 (bears a fae lord’s crest [+4 to Diplomacy with fae and fae-like beings]). [1pp.] Flight 1 (Flaws: Gliding, Linked [to Troubleseeker]). [1pp.] Insubstantial 1 (made of cloth rather than liquid, but my point remains; Extras: Duration [continuous]; Flaws: Permanent). [4pp.] Troubleseeker 8 (Flaws: Guided by Destiny [its up to the GM where I end up, so long as it’s somewhere story-relevant]; Drawbacks: Power Loss[-1pp; sudden loss of wind]). [3pp.] —- [10pp.]

AND yes, I’m aware that’s not a sea creature. The more I think about it, the more a generic Shapeshift with the appropriate modifications sounds reasonable.

Super soldier (through training) that uses a dimensional pocket to pull equipment out of. Pl 8 150pp. If that idea won't float I can try something else.

Besides the Gray Ghost(who i thought would make an Intresting Legacy Hero), i had the thought of a Doc Savage type hero called Dr.Impossible(i'm borrowing the name an quasi-origin from Sakuro's Villian Game). I'd probably do him on 8/150, making him a First Appearance Superman-lite.

His costume is just urban camo's, dark goggles and an airsoft face mask. Spandex is for gym instructors and cyclists.

History:
Leon went from special forces, to mercenary to elite hit man, stopping in every nasty war along the way, honing his skills in the crucible of combat.
When his squad recieved a direct hit by a mortar crew Leon woke up somewhere else, a strange formless void.
'Am I dead?' he thought to himself. This didn't seem like heaven or hell, besides he wasn't ready to be dead yet. He fought his way out to find he was the only survivor and that his near-death experience had triggered a latent power, enabling him to make use of a small pocket of "somewhere else". It served him well when he tired of mercenary life and became a sought-after hitman.
He could go through any metal detector on the planet, past any sniffer dog with a case of hand grenades and illegal substances in his "black bag" and know one would know. Business was good, too good. Not everyone saw what he did as a simple transaction, some took it personally. As the heat began to build up he decided it was time to retire and try a new career somewhere where no-one knows him, one that no-one would ever suspect him of, hero.

Personality & Motivation:
Leon is a professional. He likes to get a job done. If he says he will do something he will do it. He is determined. He is not a smooth talker or a charmer and tends to prefer simple direct action.

He is trying to redeem himself for his past crimes and make a new life for himself. He is also bored. After a life living on the edge an ordinary 9-5 seems like a death sentence. Capturing criminals alive is so much more challenging and entertaining than simply killing them. It is nice to be appreciated for his help, instead of despised.

Powers & Tactics:
Leon pulls weapons and equipment from out of what he calls "his black bag". He prefers to attack from a distance and using surprise, softening up his opponents with different sorts of non-lethal grenades. He will lay down covering fire while his team mates go in for the heavy hitting. Although he can take on ordinary humans in hand-to-hand he is aware of his limitations against super-powered individuals.

Power Descriptions:
Leon/Arsenal can access a small inter-dimensional space. He can use it to teleport (short range only) and he stores equipment collected over the years.

Complications:
More than just business. Some people took exception to Leon doing his job and want to get vengeance on him.
My baby is locked in the car. Leon is trying to set up a small business as a handyman. Sometimes clients want a job done NOW! It really gets in the way of being a hero sometimes.
Drug dealers are the lowest form of life. Leon hates drug dealers because he has seen the awful harm that drugs do to families and children. he still feels guilty about the part he had to play in helping drug dealers smuggle their product.
