Also temperature can make a difference as well. Ice cold coke will taste different from room temperature coke.

In some places (like Mexico), Coke is still made with real sugar as opposed to corn syrup. It makes a big difference in taste.

A wonderful development in my neck of the woods, and potentially others -- a cherry flavored Coke Zero has been introduced. This is truly amazing for those of us who can't do the sugar of regular cherry colas ...

I'm glad it's finally arrived where you are. I drink Coke Cherry Zero pretty regularly, and have for some years now.
