Coke versus Pepsi

Post by Miracle »

Pepsi tastes like weak Coke.

Also, aspartame is the devil, Diet need not apply.

I never really enjoyed either. I usually preferred the grape stuff.

The REAL debate, though, is "Pop" (vs) "Soda".

People who say "Soda" sound like they're from the 1950s, to me. Though apparently in the States, "Pop" gets stereotyped as a "hillbilly" thing, as people outside of major cities say it.

Being from the South (the part of Florida that counts as the South), I've never heard it called Pop or Soda. We call it Drink or Cold Drink.

I'm from Chicago and in the old days it was exclusively Pop, but the whole west coast says Soda, and it's encroached to the point that (lately) I hear Soda more than Pop.

I don't drink any of it. I grew up drinking unsweetened iced tea and to this day, I do not like sweet drinks at all.

As a diabetic, diet NEEDS to apply, lest we feel ostracized. ;)

Diet Coke over Diet Pepsi ALWAYS (if they serve Pepsi, I find something else on the menu), but Diet Sierra Mist over Diet Sprite.

And in our house, we mix it up, calling it soda, pop, soda pop, Coke or drink, depending on our moods.

Jolt Cola all the way... Same cola taste, twice the caffeine.

I`m a coke fan myself, but Pepsi wins because...

This is where I, as a Detroiter, would normally sing the praises of Faygo... But ever since ICP came around, they've ruined it for the rest of us. I've found two places that sell it on Portland, Oregon. Clerks at both places assumed I was a "juggalo" when I bought it.

No. I don't want to hear your mix tape. I just want a Rock n Rye.

My deal is IBC root beer, creme soda, and black cherry soda, though honestly its rare for me to drink any of those. Mostly its unsweetened black tea, iced coffee, or H2O. If I want something sweet, I drink OJ. But I have moments of weakness.

In my childhood, I loved Cherokee Red. Not terribly politically correct, I suppose. But at least the image was that of a handsome, taciturn native American-no Chief Wahoo caricature.

When there was still a local pharmacy in my home town, three decades or so ago, I loved their homemade chocolate soda. Those were fun days-once a week I went there for comics and my favorite beverage.

All my best.

US Cream Soda vs Canadian Cream Soda.

Ha ha ha, it's a trick, nobody likes Canadian Cream Soda.

Please give us the good Cream Soda again, please?

Stop teasing us with "All Dressed" chips being a limited time only deal. I don't live on the Canuckland border anymore. I won't be able to get my fix when they go away...

In addition to the other names mentioned already, I've heard it referred to as "Soda Pop" and "Sodie-Pop" from those in the southern areas.

I am not a soda/pop/cola drinker and never have been. Can probably count the times I did drink it. In addition to a grape and orange try, Mountainous Dew was unique when it came out.

And a long time ago, there was an apple-soda-beverage, something like Appre or some such. It was shown with horses and a winter scene. This Sodie-Pop was dang good! I think it might have even had some real apple juice in it. However, I guess most did not like it and after a few years it totally disappeared.
