Spammers don't care about anything other than casting the widest net possible, hoping that one person clicks on the link and they make money.

You cannot reason with them; you can only make it too hard for them to bother.

Yes, you are correct.

Or...I could blast them with my gamma rays!

I reported the majority of them. I still think it would be easier to make registration harder as something ultimately easier than having to put up with this nonsense on a daily basis.

I mean, if you made it 10 posts before being able to post a link, it could be a little cumbersome on genuine players, but a few OOC posts/replies, some comments in the various interest threads, etc. and Bob's your uncle.

Or at least have Ares have to manually approve everyone. He has to delete all these posts, so one real conversation through PM before approving someone he doesn't already know also seems viable.

At the least that'll weed out all the spambots versus actual human spammers.

You'd be surprised how many spammers are actual people. They get paid next to nothing to sit and do it all day. Usually they're in Africa somewhere. This is the first I've seen of a Polish one.

I wonder, is it legal to take out a bounty on all spammers?

"bestkinogoz" is at it now too. 14 posts. Ares, I know we'd discussed subscribing to the topic before so that we don't have to PM you for you to get notices. Are you subscribed? :)

Is is possible to report a user instead of report posts? It would definitely make it easier on Ares and faster for everyone else....

I don't mind if multiple people report the same poster. I just delete all of the offending posts as part of the banning process, which clears out the notifies quickly.

Right now, looking at the member lisy, I see 39 obvious spammers. it's like they have a template of making a profile. And 99% of them have links to unsavory parts of the internet. Go to the members list. Take your hatchet. Start weeding.
