Man WILL be missed...But,he did leave us with some of the most memorable and Iconic characters ever created,so there's that at the least.

The man was a giant.
I'm sure he and Jack Kirby have already lit cigars and started arguing about something.

I just heard about it. If there's any justice, his corner of Heaven looks like the crazy dimensions he'd draw Dr. Strange in.

Another legend gone, he had a amazing life. His work will live on forever. I fear Stan Lee with all the turmoil surrounding him now will not make it too much longer.

One of the last of his generation- I think Stan Lee might be the only major comic book star of the '60s still kicking. I suppose there's Steranko, Neal Adams and a few others who came along later in the decade.
Ditko was a true original- famously-shy, even in his creative prime (he refused to answer fan letters, and they joke about it in the "Mighty Marvel Marching Society" record they sent out to their fans), obsessive about what he saw as proper morality, and with a very specific take on Spider-Man. As soon as he was gone, you saw a HUGE creative shift in the book, as it became a "College Drama" with a very different feel to it- a sure sign of his creative input. And Doctor Strange was never the same again- nobody else has come close to Ditko's level on that one.

I'm sure his passing is sad for his family, but I'll be honest, if you had asked me Monday if Steve Ditko was still alive, I would've said I wasn't sure.
A great creative talent, who has been missing too long already.

Apparently, he had no living family.

That . . . kind of makes it worse.

Yes, I'm inclined to agree.
EDIT: Except that it appears that I was misinformed, and his brother and nephew (the younger Steve Ditko) are still alive.

He had a hand in just about all the characters in the Spiderman mythos, I will always be happy he was with us.
