Alex Alonso is leaving, and C.B. Cebulski has been appointed as his replacement.

I saw this. Seems like Marvel is doing a little house-cleaning these days. I'm really interested to see where someone who got their start with the international arm of Marvel will take the company creatively.

I've got nothing against Axel Alonso personally (I don't know the man), but at times he seemed to bumble his way through things. An EIC needs to be a "big picture" guy and it seems to me that Alonso failed to consider big picture ramifications of some creative decisions.

I hope Mr. Cebulski brings some of the international flavor and heroes he helped foster into domestic publication. I'd like to see some graphic novels at least that feature some international characters that are written and drawn by people familiar with the cultural landscape in which they exist, as opposed to just what a US based writer or artist who's never lived in those places imagines.

I figured Alonso would be going after the past couple of years. The slowdown in sales, the thing with the X-Men book's writer being a bigot, the near-open revolt of huge groups of Marvel's former fans, etc.- when you're the leader, EVERYTHING is laid at your feet. And it sure wasn't gonna be Quesada (who's shielded, given his larger role outside of the comics-specific thing).
