Denerim is okay for a starting point of a DA campaign. Its somewhat (as compared to the rest of Ferelden) cosmopolitan enough that a Qunari won't immediately get unwanted attention from the locals though they would wonder what a "knife-ears" is doing outside the Alienage.

Well, what stories did you want to tell with your character? What drew you to wanting to play that background as opposed to one that might 'connect' more easily (not that I know what that would be)?

That could work for everybody in the group,actually! The ambush Serina was talking about,Nevin hiding out onboard,Steel Mask as Serina's bodyguard, it all fits beautifully.You managed to get to Denerim's Harbor mostly be Escape Boat....

Yes they do, although most of the time, the Templars have little or no say if a apprentice does become possessed by a demon especially if said apprentice is of the Altus noble class or with ties to the Magisterium (Imperial Senate).
