That is one of two plans of which she (I) haven't decided on which to go with yet. The other is making a ruckus trying to call out the currently occupying gang as she suggested earlier and was endorsed by Doc Mercury (Not picking up on anything so subtle as sarcasm) and was not challenged on by anyone else.
That wasn't sarcasm. Makiko isn't particularly concerned with provoking the gang, and she thinks that if enough people do enough separate weird things at once, somebody is bound to get a response from them.

Sarcasm so subtle, it actually doesn't even exist. ;)

More was the point no-one else commented on it, so the only feedback she had on her idea was to go ahead and do it, which she took at face value, which apparently it was meant to be! (I had read it as being at least mildly sarcastic, but thank you for the clarification. While it doesn't change K'lara's reaction to it at all, it does alter how the scene played out in my mind).

And I agree on the idea of enough people doing separate things eliciting some kind of reaction.

The crew in street clothes is meeting at the bar. Adrien took the train wanting some alone time, and to make room in the truck. Shield, Mustang, Silver Witch (part of the way), and presumably Mako. If Hercule had ridden in the truck, than Dr. Mercury would have to ride in the truck, too. That's six people. It would have been a crowded truck.

Adrien was on his way to meet Harry and Todd when he got distracted by the big, abandoned, neighborhood attraction.

That's not the reason you posted for Adrien taking the train.

Either way, the plan was for there to be two groups, not five (Henry, Mako and Todd, Hercule and Mercury, Rosa and K'lara, and Flyby and Witch on their own individually.) That is what I was referring to.

Adrian stuck out on his own rather than being in Henry's group, and Flyby and Witch went on their own leaving K'lara and Rosa forced to take the flyer for lack of other options. Compared to the original plan for two groups, it kind of very quickly fell apart.

Like I said, no coordination, several people acting as individuals rather than a team. Also like I said, it just shows how inexperienced the team is at being a team, and in several cases at being heroes in general.

Next time I'll be more clear on understanding where everyone is, and what they're doing. I missed Hercule saying that he'd skipped the truck. In any case, BGIII hasn't checked in (or responded to a PM about another subject), so we'll skip it for the time being- she's with the "truck crew", so let's just say she saw nothing, either :).

The picyune details of Ken's reasoning after Adrien left HuMayne.

I stated quite clearly in the first post after leaving the HuMayne building that Adrien was keeping his nose in a book. In the same post, I added an out of character statement that I didn't know how we were traveling, I mentioned several options. And I said which would be Adrien's choice if he gets to choose for himself.

Harry said he'd take anyone in the truck who wanted to ride in the truck. I have to assume that means that Harry was okay with some people don't ride in the truck. Harry knows that Adrien sees Harry as the team leader, they have discussed this. If Arkrite had had Harry ask that Adrien ride in the truck, I would have complied. But I would have asked about the logistics.

I have a friend, his name is also Ken (for those of you who are familiar with my Roll Call thread and look at "real world roll call", I mention him; he plays Taran). Other Ken lives on the farm he inherited from his folks. He drives a pickup truck. Because of this, I have a passing familiarity with pickup trucks. Their cabs, generally, are not roomy. Harry, in fact, mentioned this. Also, riding in the back of a pickup truck, in the "bed" is dangerous. I know people who knew people who died from falling out of the back, many places have legal ordinances against it. It is also obvious and unsubtle. Riding in the back would not be a good idea, as it would draw attention and possibly police interference.

Since it's Harry's truck, it is reasonable to me to think that Arkrite knows all these things about pickup trucks without me having to explain it. So, Harry didn't insist everyone ride with him. And the grumpy, anti-social, foreigner decided to take a different method: public transit.

Adrien is from a big city in Europe, he is comfortable with mass-transit. Generally, Europeans are more comfortable than most Americans with mass-transit. Although, people in Chicago and the east coast cities generally are comfortable with mass-transit. I don't know how Canadians feel about mass-transit, but I suspect it's more popular in Quebec and the Maritime provinces than it is out west.

Harry didn't ask Adrien to ride in the truck; Adrien didn't ride in the truck. Adrien took the method he wanted, and got their slightly first. I only explained Adrien's personal reasons, because I assumed (my mistake), that other people know as much about pick-up trucks as I do. I also thought that I wouldn't need to explain that it's possible to do something that is simultaneously good for the group (not overloading the pickup), and good for himself. The latter is a little selfish. The former is not. It is mutually beneficial.

Also, since Harry found Adrien in the restroom while Adrien was calming down, the two have talked. So it is pretty likely that Harry understands that Adrien is uncomfortable and grumpy, and chose not to ask Adrien to ride along both for the comfort of those in the truck, and for the comfort of Adrien. One method (separate rides) makes for a more comfortable team, and spreads people out to cover more territory. One method (everyone in the truck) would be the call of a strict disciplinarian. Harry seems to be a reluctant leader; he didn't choose discipline, he chose effectiveness. (Or Arkrite just didn't care, you know either way. :) )

Adrien and Dr. Mercury arrived before the Harry and the truck, so they were already looking around. And as soon as Jab said the truck arrived, I stated specifically that he noted the truck's location, but he was distracted by the petting zoo.

Now, Adrien and I, we had a thought about the petting zoo, and the nature of the gang that runs (or at least ran) the neighbourhood. And I wanted to get it out there before getting Adrien to Mike's. So... Adrien got on the radio to ask his teammates about his idea.

No one answered Adrien's question, and no one has chosen to follow up on that potential lead. But if that voice hadn't said anything, Adrien would be ordering a beer in Mike's.

Before play began, I indicated Adrien was not very social. So there is nothing I have had Adrien do that is contrary to how I said I was going to play him, or is contrary to what is on his character sheet. But he has tried to share his information.

And yes, a group of nine formerly solo-operatives has been a team for less than two hours. I, for one, am not surprised they haven't gotten the bugs worked out yet to be a finely oiled machine. Jab said the campaign was more Marvel and less DC. If we had perfect teamwork right off the bat, we'd be the classic Justice League.

I have tried to share my ideas. I thought Adrien's response to Dr. Mercury made it clear that neither I (the player) nor Adrien (the character) mind that Dr. Mercury also took the train. I would be very glad if someone else decided to investigate the big abandoned property in the middle of the crime ridden neighbourhood.

Rosa had asked that if something was said over comms before she switched over to please repeat it. That's the reason I hadn't responded.

Hrm, Batgirl's been absent for a few days now. I'll make my first Official Retcon- Mako is hanging back, awaiting what might go down. So she's not in the truck, and not involved with the bar stuff.

Also, I'm using this as an opportunity to activate Thorp's character. SLYCE IS UP!

And, as soon as Adrien's free, he'll repeat. :)

"Réellement, as a short Frenchman, I would say that the crucial factor was that Napolean abdiqué ..er.. abdicated after Waterloo, ending les Guerres Napoléoniennes, which allowed the British and Americans cease fighting without any territory changing sides." is what Adrien would say. Which should make Harry glad that Adrien didn't ride with him. :D

Sad part is that this really wasn't covered in school.

Ha!
I wish.
Sadly Canadian history was kind of glossed over. I remember us going into the industrial revolution and American history, but Canadian history was sparse.
