Blast Master whirled on Inquisitor as she came at him once more, unleashing a ray of pinkish light from his hands, the heat of which seared her side... as it passed her by harmlessly. His eyes widened. "Oh sh-" His curse was cut quite viscerally and physically short as she struck him squarely in the stomach.

There was strong resistance to her strike, however, as a pinkish barrier fluttered around her hand, and he grinned savagely at her, his teeth stained red with his own blood. "Pfft. You got lucky last time, you little-" He stopped, as she struck through his mind - his words lost as the thoughts behind them warped and warbled.
Luckily, he missed his attack roll and his Will roll, 'cause he tanked that blow like a champ. Blast Master is now Impaired.

Grace surveyed the action for another moment- it was obvious that Blast Master was the biggest individual threat, but they had to start bringing down those gunners. The volume of their fire was too deadly to stay unchecked.

She did get a bit of a chuckle over their reaction to the batarang, though- she would have to let The Man know how his reputation was still a terrible threat to the Regime's leftovers. She would have to make a full report on this anyway- if someone was trying to keep the Regime alive, he would want to know every detail.

Meanwhile, the problems in front of her still needed to be handled. It looked like the strong woman was keeping Blast Master occupied for now. Time to start taking out the trash...

Stepping around the car she had been using as cover, she drew her fighting batons- let them think whoever had thrown that batarang was still out there. She rushed forward towards the lone Regime soldier, sticks spinning in a complicated arc- and she didn't stop moving, going from her target up and over the nearest car and back into cover. Besides her target, most of those on the field might never realize she had been there.

>OOC:
-Grace will Quick Draw her escrima sticks and move to attack the lone trooper.
-Attack is with escrima sticks, Power Attack for -2 attack, +2 effect. Attack 1d20+14= 18, roll http://www.coyotecode.net/roll/lookup.php?rollid=208040

-if that hits DC 21 Toughness check.
-Hit or miss, she will use Move-by action and any remaining movement to bounce around the nearest cover (stopped car or truck, probably?), and Hide in Plain Sight, Stealth 1d20+7= 19; roll http://www.coyotecode.net/roll/lookup.php?rollid=208041

Grace's poor target was too focused on his own target - that being the innocent police officer he was shooting - to notice her moving up. With a series of deft blows, she knocked him down before he could cry out, and easily managed to slip around the car door and to the next piece of cover - this time, she slid up behind another supply truck, some forty feet away from the action.
Poor Regime Remnant gunner is knocked out cold, unless Grace wanted him dead. Probably little consolation for the officer he shot, but still.

GREEN LANTERN
HP: 0
Condition: Fatigued

"Subject deceased."

Janet bit her lip, trying to hold back frustration and focus on her concentration; mental distractions would make her constructs weak. But while she was looking for a pulse on a dead man, the Regime soldiers were setting their sights on the other officers. The protection of life was the very first rule in the Book of Oa, and Janet wasn't about to let these fanatics take any more. The Green Lantern rocketed down from the sky, only just able to make it to absorb the blast.

"You're a Green Lantern right? Thanks, but could you go grab that bomber before he blows something else up?"

"Yeah but you need to move everyone back!" Janet countered. "Leave this to... us?" She was going to say "me", but realized the assistance of the flying man she had met earlier and the woman flipping trucks over didn't make that accurate.

In a streak of green, the rookie Lantern approached Blast Master, hovering a distance above him. Inquisitor was handling him well, but there was no telling when he might let loose another attack that did had serious collateral damage. Janet had to move him out of here.

"So, you like Superman, huh? Look, up in the sky!" she mocked, pointing towards the clouds. "It's a bird! It's a plane! It's you!"

A green springboard formed right under Blast Master's feet, and with a flick of Janet's wrist, the construct would send him hurdling straight upward! It didn't seem the man could fly, but Janet would catch him on the way down. For now, this could remove him as a threat.
As discussed in the OOC thread, spending an HP to get the Interpose advantage. Reaction to move Janet in the way of one of the attacks. Since the officers' Toughness checks have already been rolled, I'll let endwaar decide if Janet saves the one that would have been dying or the one that would be dead.
Interpose Toughness: 1D20+13 = [12]+13 = 25
Assuming DC 23 like the last hit, that's a success. Going to do something possibly careless and use Force Lifting (Move Object 13) to throw Blast Master straight up. Using Extra Effort to increase the power rank by +2 with the Feature it has.
Extra Effort Force Lifting (Move Object 13+2) vs Blast Master: 1D20+7 = [9]+7 = 16
Hm... I'm not too confident that's a hit. I'm going to spend my Luck (Improve Roll).
Extra Effort Force Lifting Reroll: 1D20+7 = [8]+7 = 15
+10 for rolling 10 or under makes that a 25 to hit. Blast Master needs to make a DC 25 resistance check using the better of Strength or Dodge, with a -2 for being Impaired. On a success, there is no effect. If he fails, he'll be launched a distance rank equal to the effect rank (15) minus his weight rank (2 or 3?), so anywhere from 16 to 30 miles. Maybe I went overboard.

Prestige
Hp: 1
Cnd: Fatigued

Tobey flinched away from the blaster fire, only to realize the shots aimed at him went wide. He looked over his shoulder as he heard the cry of pain to see the police officer take a hit. I have to get creative, force them to focus on me.

"Citsym Stcurtsnoc!" It looked like the words flowed from him in a stream of light, tracing a shape in the air above the gunners before the massive bell solidified seemingly out of thin air and came crashing down on them.

Hoping his spells held up, Tobey did something he usually wouldn't and flew right in the face of the shooters, to engage them up close and personal.
Citsym Stcurtsnoc: Create 7, continuous, innate, precise to drop a bell as an Area attack on the gunners that shot the cops.
Dc 17 Dodge check, success takes no damage, fail means a Dc 22 Toughness check.

The soldiers in question were separate enough that they weren't both able to be covered by the bell, but as it turned out, someone had already knocked one of the two unconscious. As a matter of fact, Prestige thought he saw the flutter of cloth flip behind a nearby supply truck. Fortunately, the soldier that had already shot at him was close by to the one whose shot Green Lantern had intercepted.

The magical construct fell neatly atop them, and one of the two let out a plaintive cry as it collapsed on his right leg and arm - breaking them and sending him unconscious. The other took the bell's edge squarely on his head, but with a growl of effort, simply took it. "I'll get you, you Insurgent scum!" He cursed the magician.

Blast Master, meanwhile, looked dazedly up at Green Lantern, and wasn't able to dodge out of the way of her emerald spring-light construct. "Superman was - aaaahhhhhhhhhhhh..." The yellow-armored villain was launched up, up, and away into the atmosphere. The Lantern was reasonably confident she'd be able to catch him before he came crashing down, and if not, well, he'd probably survive it. Might break a few bones, but it might sweeten his attitude.

Seeing this, the female Remnant soldier cursed. "Focus your fire you idiots! Aim for the strong one!" She took her own advice, blasting Inquisitor squarely in the chest.

The other conscious soldier ignored this, firing again at the magician, and again missing him. "We're better than human! We are Regime!" He shouted, as though reciting a chant.

"That's your issue," the sole surviving police officer muttered, running to check her fallen comrade, "too much arrogance."

Grace
HP: 1 (for now); LP: 1; Condition: we will see...

Grace watched Blast Master soar upwards through the air, and fought down the urge to wave goodbye. The two remaining soldier looked like they were occupied for now- time to see what was going on in that truck. Maybe the soldiers inside were out- or maybe not.

She bounced forward, sticks still in hand, and pounced into the back of the truck- not nearly as easy as it could have been, but no real challenge. If the soldiers were still feisty, she was going to teach them a lesson. Hopefully...

>OOC:
-Move action: to (and into) the open back of the truck where the soldiers are. Speed 1 and Leaping 1 ought to be able to do that- let me know if I need and Acrobatics or Athletics check here. Just in case, since I can't roll at work: Acrobatics 1d20+7= 25, Athletics 1d20+5= 16, rolls http://www.coyotecode.net/roll/lookup.php?rollid=208256
-Action: If the soldiers are still active, thump them a bit. Grace will use Power Attack -4/+4, and take 10 on her attack because minions, and she will use the Split property on her sticks to attack 2 of the 3 soldiers. That gives 2 attacks at +12 (so effectively 22 to hit), with each being +4 effect (so Toughness DC 19 for each target). If she can drop one, use Extra Effort for an extra Standard action (will probably use an HP next turn to counteract the fatigue)
-Extra effort action: repeat attack- if she dropped one trooper, Split to target the other 2, same numbers (22 to hit, DC 19 Toughness to each). If she dropped both targets on her first attack, focus on the remaining trooper (22 to hit, DC 23 Toughness). If she didn't drop anybody on the first try, tag both of them again and leave the other for later.
-If she managed to drop all of them, stay in the truck. If any of the soldiers are still up, use Move-by action to bounce back out of the truck- she is not expecting to get to hide and/or cover, but will get out of the confined space and around the side of the truck, so that if they want to come after her, they have to come out into the open where the others can see them.

The nimble heroine found it easy to scramble up the side of the truck, even managing to do so without any of the soldiers remaining noticing her climb. As she dropped in, three blasters were swiftly leveled in her direction, and the soldiers fired virtually simultaneously at her, the retort of their blasters filling her ears.

Even as she dropped down, however, it was child's play to avoid two of the blasts - Batman's mention must definitely have unnerved them... or they were just plain bad shots. However, one blast caught her in the shoulder, and the shooter crowed his triumph to his friends. "Haha! I got him!" Of course, he also got her one of her sticks whacking him repeatedly first, so the triumph was short-lived.

His battle-buddy growled. "You'll pay for that - agkk" Presumably he had intended to say more, but her stick had caught him neatly in the throat, knocking him out of the combat. Swiftly, she moved on to the last soldier, on whom she beat a rapid tattoo with her sticks, but perhaps due to being shot, or perhaps due to something else, he shrugged her blows off with ease.
Grace needs to make a DC 23 Toughness check for damage, due to being shot once. That soldier will now move on initiative 6, not that I expect him to be long in this combat.

In the close confines of the truck, it was impossible to completely dodge the blast, but Grace managed to twist away at the last instant, so that the beam caught one of the heavier sections of her body armor instead of hitting her full on.

Inquisitor (Victoria Riese)
HP: 0
CND: 2 Damage

Vee winced as the blaster from the female Regime soldier struck her, burning a hole through her tee shirt, displaying a black material of the outfit she is wearing under her clothes, now that Blast Master was getting a free flying lesson. "Nice shooting there Tex. Maddy, tell the lady what she's won! You've won the undivided attention of an angsty teenager with kryptonian levels of strength and a brand new hole in her shirt, congratulations!"

The super in civvies, rather than clobbering the unarmored woman with artificial kryptonian strength, opts to try and grab the Regime soldier and disable her that way.
Toughness vs DC23: 1D20+14-1 = [8]+14-1 = 21 Another single degree fail.

Switching Array to non-linked Mind Reading and going to try and grab the minion with a routine attack at a total of 16. If that succeeds, she needs a DC24 Strength or Dodge to resist being grabbed. Fail by 1-4 and she is Restrained, by 5 or more and she is Bound. Vee herself is Hindered and Vulnerable (-1 speed rank and half Dodge/Parry)

I really need to add Grab-based versions of her effects, but right now, she's not experienced enough to grab and concentrate on activating her mental effects, but it's an upgrade she'll be needing, but once she's got the guy grabbed, she's already touching him to use her psychic powers.

GREEN LANTERN
HP: 0
Condition: Fatigued

Janet exhaled slowly, having put a fair amount of effort into her construct, a proud smirk on her face. Maybe while the leader of this Regime group was up there, he'd reconsider his wardrobe; yellow was a bad look (just ask Hal). The Green Lantern looked down at the strong woman who had been engaging Blast Master and asked, "Sooo are you with twinkle hands over there?" pointing a thumb in Prestige's direction.

After the response, Janet soared into the sky, chasing after the skyward Blast Master. She had considered letting the armored man have an unhappy landing, but unless he had suddenly grown wings, maybe she could save him a lot of pain if he surrendered. "Ring, find that idiot," Janet stated, letting her Ring guide her towards Blast Master.
Since I'm not sure if Blast Master has already traveled so far as to be out of sight, Move Action to set my Scanning Beam Variable to the following:
Ranged Detect Life, Acute, Extended 2; 5 PP
Detect Life Perception: 1D20+5 = [18]+5 = 23
Move Action to fly using Flight 9. Since I'm Fatigued, I move at 500 MPH. Rolling Will DC 20 to increase that speed.
Will Flight DC 20: 1D20+13 = [10]+13 = 23
So that puts me at 1,000 MPH, or 2 miles in one Move Action.

Tobey was only able to catch the flicker of movement from the corner of his but not follow it in the din of combat, but it looked like they had unseen help. Good, he'd gladly take all he could get.

The shooter he'd only clipped ranted crazily and Tobey idly wondered whether he'd been brainwashed or just fed that crap. He shook his head, shrugging it off as something to worry about afterward. Their aim hadn't challenged his spells yet, but the cops didn't have that luxury.

"Citsym Sgnidnib." The words wound their way from him like luminous serpents, solidifying into chains that tried to wrap around the gunner he'd missed. "For my next trick I need a captive audience."
Ranged Affliction attack: 1D20+8 = [10]+8 = 18
Dc 22 Will check if that hits, one degree of failure is Hindered and Vulnerable, two is Defenseless and Immobile.

Inquisitor easily grabbed ahold of the soldier, whose effort to dodge was in vain. The woman grimaced and struggled, but the superhumanly strong teen suppressed the struggling soldier with minimal effort. Oddly, the woman seemed stronger than she should be, but she was still no match for Inquisitor's own strength. "Damn you, Insurgent scum!" She growled.
Female Regime soldier - the only girl of the bunch, actually - is now Bound. She totally flubbed that roll.
The other soldier that was still free suddenly found himself being bound and utterly frozen as the chains bound him up. "Wh-what?!" He exclaimed, and the flying teen could hear the grimace in his voice as he struggled feebly. Nevertheless, he was totally immobilized - unable to move even slightly, thanks to the tight magical chains binding him.
Regime Soldier #3 is now Defenseless and Immobile. I should probably start handing out hero points and rerolling for the baddies, shouldn't I?
Meanwhile, the power ring chimes softly on Janet's finger. "Searching... found. Target designated 'Blast Master' is currently twenty-nine miles... twenty-six miles and descending, estimated landing approximately... forty feet from current location." If a ring could be snarky, Janet's was almost certainly taking a sarcastic tone with her, as if to ask where else she thought he might be. He hadn't been gone for that long yet.

So she flew straight up, ascending towards where he would be dropping by.

As she did so, the woman desperately attempted to escape from Inquisitor's grasp, and almost managed to make her escape, but Inquisitor quickly snatched her again, preventing the woman from making good her escape.

The soldier bound in magical chains remained frozen, unable to escape the chains' grip.

Finally, as Janet swooped upwards, she spotted Blast Master coming downwards at what was likely terminal velocity. "Die, invader!" He shouted, and somehow, he unleashed a pink blast at her that struck her neatly in the head.
GL needs to make a DC 33 Toughness check.

GREEN LANTERN
HP: 0
Condition: Fatigued, 1 Damage

Despite his hazardous situation, Blast Master saw fit to attack the rookie ring-slinger. His suit packed much more power than the weapons used by the soldiers below, but Janet was able to bring up a construct in the shape of a shield that absorbed most of the explosion. She kept pace with him as they both traveled down, flying a short distance above him with her ring pointed his way.

"Invader?" Green Lantern repeated incredulously. "Look, Blast Master-or whatever arcade game you got your name from-maybe don't attack the person who could save you from being a yellow splat on the the ground!" It was what this guy was seriously deserving, but Janet was willing to give him one last chance to surrender before giving him an emerald anvil to "hold" on the way down. "Your choice: the pavement, or a cushy green pillow."
Toughness DC 33: 1D20+13 = [15]+13 = 28
Whew, avoided the worst. One degree failure. 500 MPH should be enough to keep up with his terminal velocity. Standard Action to Ready dropping a construct on him with Create 13 if he tries attacking again. Normally the damage is based on the object's Toughness, but since this is an Area effect, it's limited by our Power Level. So if it goes off, it will be a DC 20 Dodge, and a DC 25 Toughness. No effect if he succeeds the Dodge.

Inquisitor (Victoria Riese)
HP: 0
CND: 2 Damage

Vee glances about and sees the others who had been drawn into the situation having other things well in hand, and she'd completely lost sight of Blast Master and the Green Lantern (!!!) that had zoomed off after him into the sky aside from a few glints of energy.

<"Well...seeing as everything seems to be well under control...let's see what you know about this little sham Regime wanna-be group."> the blonde super-powered teen spoke directly into the grappled Regime woman's mind as her eyes began to glow pink and started rooting through to see what shook loose.
Free action to maintain the grapple, and going to make a deception check as part of Mind Reading for my standard with that comment and the sudden speaking in the regime soldier's mind to try and trick her into thinking about what she knows about the Regime in its current state. Not assuming too much given her apparent rank, but something might be better than nothing.

So she will get a Insight check to oppose my Deception check, and then a Will save against the Mind Reading itself.
Deception (Opposed by Insight check): 1D20+12 = [12]+12 = 24 Nice, solid check. And DC24 for the Mind Reading
