He slowly placed his glass down on the counter, one of his pointed ears twitching just once as he took in the grim and mysterious words. "...Arvis, what is this? What have you brought to this town? Who is this 'Lady Sol'?"

Looking back to the elder elf, he considered aproaching him for answers but felt that would only lead to more questions still. His hand gripped his Navamaran clasp, silently asking for her guidance. There was something very wrong here.
Am I dead? Am I alive? The answer may surprise you!

Caladir actually felt a bit of warmth from the symbol. Navmara sending a word of peace to her priest. Caladir understood that word of peace was to bring peace. Not common among her acolytes, this was a sign. Something would happen soon. And the warning from the elven keeper of the inn only inflamed that sign.

Drinks were refilled by a dwarven woman. She was beardless, as all women outside of dwarven strongholds were. She spoke little, but if asked questions, she would answer the best to her knowledge.

Reva Vanel
HP : 1
LP : 1

"Today is the day 'chaos rises' ? He innkeeper is doubtful any will survive the night ? And the mage's group gets to stay here free ? Now that IS interesting !" Reva mused to herself, figuring this might be an opening.

"Most dire tidings indeed, fellow travelers !" Reva announced, "But there can be much fortune found once the threat is dealt with.

I am quite trained in dealing with threats, should your group require a bit more force."

While this new human spoke with the mageling, Drusella spoke low to their server.

Drusella greeted the lady dwarf in Mountain Speak.

"[[May the rock be firm beneath your feet.]]" she said by rote. "[[What do you know of the pointy-ear's prediction?]]" She asks.
"Something pithy this way comes."

Arvis Dawn
HP: 1

Arvis took the wooden shard from the innkeeper without much thought and stared at it blankly while he tried to process the information he had been presented with.

”Umm… I… I… I didn’t bring anything I swear.” he responded to Caladir. ”Lady Lyandra Sol is my Master, my teacher. She sent me here. I honestly thought it was going to be some kind of test but this?” he glanced at the priest, ”The man said chaos right?”

Arvis lent on his staff a moment and took a deep breath. His Mistress would not have set him on a path she thought he couldn’t overcome, and he was determined not to disappoint her.
”Well, if there is something coming that she intended me to face, than I will face it.” he regarded the elven pair, and the woman who had offered her aid. ”A reward to be reaped.” he gestured towards the innkeeper, ”If you’re looking for work, I'd gladly offer you an even share for your aid.”

He slowly traces the contours of his holy symbol, before turning to face Arvis with a serious look. "My goddess wishes for me to bring peace. Peace to what's about to come. There's danger looming on the horizon. Reward or none, I'll gladly offer both my sword and my inner light to weather what is to come. "

The dwarf woman eyed Drusella up and down after speaking in dwarven. She hardened a smile, "[[Theryl doesn't speak these prophecies without knowing something to be absolute. The Sol woman provided him with insight. I have not questioned his word in the longest time. But this? This I wish him to be wrong on.]]" She nodded, "I'll be back with refills if ye need em!"

Drusella just nods at the dwarfess before turning and facing the assembled group using the Common Tongue.

"Well, I wish to be a part of stamping out chaos and could use a share of a 'reward', as nebulous as that sounds. Call me Drusella. I offer extensive knowledge of alchemy with various effects producible by my concoctions and admixtures including the hurled explosives that those of my profession are known for. No one here has pyrophobia, I trust. And, Though I'm no bard, I am knowledgeable in many other subjects besides. I grew up in the streets and retain some of the skills that helped me survive there though it's been ages since I've been called upon to employ them." She lies.

"What is everyone's names and skills they offer?" She brings out bound parchment and writing implements. "And does anyone mind if I chronicle?"

He took a sharp drink of his beverage, then faced Drusella. "Fire always gives way to life in the end. I hold no inherent fear toward it. I hold no objections to describing my skills to you, so long as we all promise to be honest. We wouldn't want to be taken surprise in the midst of battle after all." He spoke, putting an interestis emphasis on a few of his words while giving the alchemist a subtle look.

He gives a soundless sigh, gently shaking his head with his eyes closed in disappointment. The truth would come about eventually, if they were to spend any significant amount of time interacting past this night. "You should be well aware of how keen our eyesight is already, kinswoman. Little can escape my notice when my attention is focused just right. I bare the gift of Navmara's light, which can be used to heal the body and soul of those it touches. And where divinity can not go, I carry the practical knowledge to heal with mundane means."

He adjusts his robe, enough to reveal a simple steel sword at his side. "Yet this world is a dangerous one. I have been trained in the ways to cause injury instead of simply healing them. It is not my favored activity, but I will not hesitate if the situation calls."

Arvis Dawn
HP: 1

"I welcome the aid, and you may chronicle away my lady." Arvis said, offering a bow of his head. "Arvis Dawn, wizard obviously, dedicated to the mystic arts. My spells are varied, from the conjuring of elemental forces, to veils of invisibility.I have studied incantations to turn a man to stone, and to pass through solid walls, and I can assure you," he said offering smile to Drusella, and giving the floor a light tap with his staff, "Fire and I are old friends."

He smoothed his robes and poured himself some wine and drained the cup in one go. "If we are being honest, I should confess that I have never seen combat, though my skills should be up to the task."

Reva Vanel
HP : 1 LP : 1

"Why so reluctant to admit to mastery of certain skills ?" she glanced to Drusella and Caladir, "Especially when they are in high demand !

I am Reva Vanel, mercenary archer. And acquisition specialist. Amongst other things.

I can handle myself very well in a fight - and, if what the innkeeper said was true, I'd rather go out and deal with the threat BEFORE it gathers force.

And thanks to this trinket I earned on a job years ago, I can see trouble coming from quite some distance."
she stated as she retrieved a small item from her vest. It was a circular lens about three inches across, made from black with gold flecks catseye agate. "This thing has enabled me to avoid more trouble than I care to imagine !"

Drusella raised another eyebrow. She was about to protest that she was just being honest with her abilities, but realized that she wore a different face than her own.

The elf's words about little escaping his notice came back to her then.

She takes a breath to steel herself for the admission. "I should also mention that the face I bear is a magical disguise." she tries to sound casual, like it was no big thing. "My real visage draws unwanted looks and I would rather have found a group based on my merits rather than my exoticism." she says.

She reviews her notes, quickly trying to change the subject. "Caladir, do you have an honorific you prefer? 'Brother'? 'Father'? 'Shepherd'?"

"Likewise, Reva, can you use your trinket to scan the area around the town to see if there is 'chaos' gathering?"
"Something pithy this way comes."

He gives her a bright smile, nodding at her out of Reva and Arvis's view. In his opinion the best way to breed loyalty and camaraderie was to start on a foundation of trust. "I have not yet earned a tittle so prestigious for myself at this time, I am am little more then an acolyte still. But I would feel honored if in time you would come to consider me a friend." Are his words, as he bows his head gently forward.

Reva draws his attention before none to long. "A very useful tool indeed, one that came in very handy during your 'acquisitions'." His voice teased, his smile morphing into a knowing smirk before becoming more neutral and serious. "In a situation like this, It's benefits may be all the more clear. Our drinks our paid, cups empty, and acquaintance has been established. You are right, Reva. We should be outside to meet what's to come firsthand rather then wait for it to reach us in this inn."
